La Posada Restaurant & Tequila Bar

Overall experience: ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! I found this restaurant on Instagram and what caught our attention was the affordability for the food and drinks. The special occasion: it was my brother’s birthday last night so we wanted delicious flavorful food with a fun and chill atmosphere. THIS PLACE DELIVERED IT 10/10 score! When you step inside the restaurant it is very cute; fun decor and it was a vibe. You are able to make reservations and they are accommodating as well. As pictured below we order three appetizers (each of them had flavor and substance) we order three cocktails and they were delicious as well. The entrees were absolutely delicious and it had flavor, well-seasoned and you can tell the food was made with love. Personally I enjoyed the music and their taste of music was fun (Don Omar, Karol G, fun music). And ladies, the women’s restroom is super cute for selfies; their mirror has settings where you can pick the right lighting, fun features and had a colorful setting! The staff were respectful, kind, fun and lively! You can tell when you step inside the restaurant they want their food and their atmosphere to thrive and it is cozy and comfortable environment. I recommend this place if you want flavorful food and be surrounded by positivity and fun. This is the right place.

Great spot in the area for margaritas and then some. They also do a really good Caipirinha which I loved. Their chips are freshly made and come hot to your table. Wait time for food was a fair bit longer than usual because of the Porchfest crowd, and that is understandable. The wait staff were very attentive and even apologized for the delay in getting our entrees to the table. The veggie enchiladas are fantastic and I’d definitely get it again. Their strawberry salad was a pleasant surprise, not too sweet or tart. Just perfect. Price wise, I felt that it was a tad bit above average overall.

One of the hidden gems in Boston. The food is always fresh and well seasoned, here’s what we got. 2 love potion shots which tasted great and kicked off the meal in a fun way. These guys always seem to have seasonally changing drinks. Mezpresso martinis which were unique and different than the sweeter espresso martinis I typically see. It was more on the bitter side in a nice smoky way. Shrimp tostones - genuinely unbelievable, a juicy mix of savory flavors. I really wish the shrimps came with the tails off but I think that’s just me being picky. Chips and guac - classic, chips were super consistent and delicious. Shrimp tacos - no complaints at all, super tasty and juicy, avocados tend to slide off when you bite in but that’s just another small thing I noticed. Chicken enchiladas - definitely on the spicier side but still amazing. Overall another great experience and I’ll be back later in the year to check in.

This meal was exquisite! My favorites had to be the shrimp tostones, the fish taco & the light and airy tres leches cake. Each dish that came out was better than the one before. I am so happy to have found this hidden gem.

Sexy drinks and delicious food very shareable plates and freshness bursts in your mouth . Shout out to Joel and His Dad taking care of Us . Can't wait to come back for the Tequila tasting..

First timer and I must say I really enjoyed the food and ambiance. I went during the day but I recommend making a reaervation if going in the evening. Order chips and guac, crisp shrimp and chicken fajitas. Also had the magarita of the day (Tamarindo) and the vanilla old fashion. Don't forget a shot of the house tequila.smoooth

Got their food to go twice so far since moving to the area a couple weeks ago. Highly recommend!! The Birra Tacos are drool worthy. Even my mom visiting from Orlando highly approved. Cant wait to go in person for the drinks! Also get the churros!!!

Johe the owner is amazing and full of great stories. I did a tequila tasting with him and he did a great job customizing food menus and tequilas tasted based on preference and pairings. I didn't have a single bad tequila and several unique ones. The food was amazing. Definitely more of a sampler size but it's just made me committed to going back soon to try more. I need to go back and try several cocktails and explore more of the menu. Besides Johe, the rest of the staff was friendly and welcoming. From the moment I walked in I was treated like family and like I come in daily.

Truly amazing. I just went for the first time, and did not expect it to be this good. The specialties are Tacos and Margaritas I am blown away by how good the food was as well as the service. Possibly the best customer service I've ever had in a restaurant. They were very attentive, friendly, and all had great attitudes. Going above and beyond!! It's very rare that I go to a restaurant where I tell myself that I want to come back. Cozy atmosphere with happy music. Not too bright and not too dark. Great for bringing friends, family, and co-workers. Adding to list of new favorites. Highly recommend. The Manager Joe is also awesome and an expert of Tequila

Stopped in for some late night food. Started off with a classic corona and some chips and salsa verde. The waiter recommended we also try the jalapeño queso--it was good! We then ordered the birria tacos and 3 pupusas. All were good and hit the spot so late at night. Food came out fairly quickly as well The vibes in here were also chill and I liked the lighting especially around the bar. Check this spot out!

Ambiance was nice and I love that the kitchen is open late. So far not huge on the food and we didn't try the drinks. I only LOVED the churros. Food seems hit or miss so things we ordered were: - polla a la plancha: chicken was dry and menu deceiving. Said the chicken was served with rice, beans, corn salad, and plantains. But it turned out that you can only get 2 out of the 4. Menu should definitely change the wording. Chicken was dry. Salad was ok. Plaintains were tasty though! - beef birria ramen - too salty but interesting - beef birria chimichanga - friend said it was really food - steak & shrimp tacos - a little dry Service wise, it was okay. I think it was just a little difficult to communicate sometimes.

Birria ramen is quality! It is an interesting idea and the first I've tried. Apparently it's the new avocado toast. Delicious savory broth, hardboiled egg(not soy soaked or runny), birria meat, and thin noodles. The service was fast and friendly. While waiting for our take out they got us waters and kept them filled. The restaurant is a great vibe and I will be coming back. Well done La Posada!

I had meant to write this review a few months ago, but was distracted at the time. However now I have the time and wanted to share that I had an awful experience. The food was mediocre at best, but the service is what truly upset me. They hardly came around to check on us, and when I finally went to the person myself who was also on their phone, (this was early in the morning as well, and only one waiter was there at the moment we could see) they immediately put their hand in my face, and said "no." then walked straight out of the place. She eventually came back, took her a while, was very confused and we left asap after paying. Disrespectful experience, will not be going back.

Got takeout on a Friday night from La Posada - so good. Got a chicken burrito with chipotle sauce on the side, and while the burrito was delicious on its own, the chipotle sauce brought it to a whole new level. I loved that the burritos came with their own side of chips. Service at pick-up was friendly and seamless. I'll be back!

I got a beef birria chimichanga. The portion is large and tastes amazing. I highly recommend the churros. The staff is friendly and fast. The ambiance is very casual dining the kitchen is open until midnight which is great for a group.

Best food ever! Great service! Delicious I talked with Emre he was so respectful and kind. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good time.

Looking for the ultimate Taco Tuesday spot in Somerville, MA? Gather your friends and head over to Laposada Restaurant & Tequila Bar. I ordered the Oaxaca Old Fashioned, which left me in awe with its smoky presentation and rich flavor. And let's talk about the Barbie Margarita - perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and a delightful punch to the taste buds! Oh, did I mention the drink is so pretty in pink! And the Cafecito drink is a perfect drink with a kick of caffeine! But the star of the show? The Chicken Tacos! Juicy, flavorful, and downright delicious.

Really yummy burritos, fish tacos, empanadas!!!! And the margs are solid! I love the pupusas and the vibes in here too

Finally found a good place in the area for Latin American food! We had a large group and was able to make a reservation. Really enjoyed the birria tacos - they were SO crispy and the pork was tender! The margaritas were great too! Very fun and festive restaurant! The restaurant was very packed with people and sometimes it was hard to get the servers' attention. Bathrooms are available and clean!

Finally found my go to Mexican restaurant in Somerville! I've been twice now and both times have been great. They have a large cocktail and drinks menu and have a rotating seasonal drink menu that is fun, so there is always something new to try (I've had two different sangrias and both have been yummy). They have the BEST chips here-- you can tell they fry them and make them fresh in house, I easily devour the whole basket. When I went most recently, I ordered a birria burrito and it was absolutely delicious (and huge portion!) For only $12 I got the massive burrito which also came with it's own side of chips and salsa. Additionally, the service is great and attentive (dropped my napkin and server brought me a new one without even having to ask). It's a cute and cozy space, with a little bit of parking near by which is nice. La Posada is definitely in my regular restaurant rotaation now and will be going back in the near future!

SUCH an underrated spot!! I can't believe La Posada isn't talked about more. Their Birria Tacos are the best I've had in the boston area to date- the margs and apps are great, and they do tequila tastings on Thursdays. I went on a weeknight and it was fairly busy but service was still good. I was obsessed with the birria and the empanadas. You also either need to get a dish that comes with plantains (like the crispy shrimp dish I got) or get a side of them because they were incredible. Will 100% be coming back!

Love La Posada! They have great vegan food, a dedicated vegan menu, and amazing service. The blonde waitress is our favorite; she's always friendly and answers the millions of questions our group has. I had an amazing smoked mezcal drink that was prepared at our table. The setting is relatively intimate, but they were able to seat a party of 6 without issue late on a Saturday night.

Great food, and a sizeable menu. Laid back ambiance. There are always tables available.

A serviceable Mexican menu but we were disappointed they were out of many options the Friday night we were there. The music was blaring so loud you couldn't hold a conversation. We'll probably look for another option next time.

Very nice vibe we went for cinco. It was busy and our server was busy so not sure it was reflective of their real service in a normal night. The food was tasty but there were mix ups with the orders and what was actually on our bill so that was the biggest issue.

In love with their carne asada bowl! At first I thought I was going to be disappointed because of the portion size but it ended up being just the right about and made up for it in flavor. The beans were cooked perfect and didn't make the rice soggy. The cheese was melted over everything and the carne asada was cooked perfectly and seasoned great. I'm used to have meat chunks that are chewy, fatty, or pale looking but these were perfect! I wish there was more sour cream but that's just me being a sour cream fanatic. The guac tasted super fresh. The chips tasted homemade and were salted with the right about. The green salsa was mildly spicy. The flan was a bit too eggy for me; I'm more of a fan of the creamy kind. The tilapia fillets were excellent. The egg was cooked perfectly, the avocado was ripe, and the fish was well seasoned, and the breading was flaky and crunchy. The rice was good and the plantain was sweet and ripe. Easily two meals in one because of how big of a portion it is.

Went here back in December and loved everything about this place! Their menu consists of foods from 9 different latin american countries! The owner was very helpful and super interactive with us. You could definitely tell he cared about what he served! I love that they have themed drinks that change every once in a while! Can't wait to go back again to try their Valentine drinks!

Amazing food AND drinks. They have great deals like two Tacos and a margarita on Tuesdays and a bunch of different combo meals. The owner and employees are also super sweet! They're knowledgeable on tequila and the food. Highly recommend to come here if you're around the Somerville area

Read as 3.5 stars. Guacamole was fresh and chips were warm. Guacamole was on the simple side, and only had tomatoes added to it. Ordered shrimp, fish and yuca tacos - the shrimp was defintely the better option of the 3. While all 3 were good - the toppings were the same on all tacos. I think by varying the toppings they can enhance flavors more. Overall food was good but nothing amazing. Service was friendly and attentive. Plenty of metered parking around.

Honestly such a slay. We went on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. Ordered: Barbie marg and guava marg. Nice and sweet but not super strong. Honestly ok though because the amount of food I was about to eat would negate even a handle of Everclear. We got the crispy calamari and scallops, wings, paella, chicken burrito. The amount of seafood I got... giving Gia Gunn fresh tilapia quote #dragrace #pride. So much seafood in the paella. Was so happy definitely worth it. Everything cooked well. I will say, paella didn't have the socarrat, but other than that good. Shout out to bartender with the flattened fork.

The chicken empanadas are absolutely amazing I highly recommend. The service was great- it was busy so it was understandably a bit of a wait but nothing bad. And the overall ambiance of the restaurant was great I look forward to going back!

It's a cool spot to hang at the bar with great Latino music. Food was average, the birria taco tortilla was a bit dry, and there's not enough sauce for what is proportional to the tacos. The nacho fries was okay, some parts were hot and cold. The service was slow despite not being too busy. It took a while just get a beer, and water. There's just a lot of meat but nothing else was seasoned.

A friend from Australia was visiting, and he's been missing good Mexican food, so I looked for a restaurant open late with Mexican food and *voila* I found La Posada. (There was a wonderful little La Posada restaurant in Arlington MA a few years back, but this one is unrelated to that.) At any rate, the staff took good care of us. The food was enjoyable. The drinks were good. I don't want to paint a picture of some amazing out-of-this-world experience; it's just the combination of good food and good service and friendliness that make it easy to actually want to give a 5-star review to this place. Well deserved.

Had such a great time at La Posada! The service was great, ambiance was SO fun, and the food all came out steaming and delicious. We loved their margs, as well!! Would recommend to anyone in the area - it was a great dinner and I bet it would be equally as great for lunch or on a chill weekend day :) Top 3 orders: 1. Mango margarita - sweet but not too sweet and the rim was delicious!! Had to get another round, I really enjoyed this as a start to the meal and the flavor went perfectly with all our food. I also love mango, so this didn't disappoint. As an added bonus, the margarita glasses are so cute!! 2. Tequenos - I've never tried these before but will be keeping a close eye out for them on any menus in the future!! SO delicious. Kind of a thicker and crunchier puff pastry wrapped around a generous bite of chewy cheese. So so good - and the dipping sauce was perfection! 3. 4 leches cake - not sure what the fourth leche was given I feel like it's usually a 3 leches cake, but this was SO good. Extremely decadent from start to finish, but literally the perfect end to our meal. The frosting was delicious and I love the denseness at the bottom!! This place is a winner - I can't wait to come back for more :)

We ordered nacho fries with carne, carnitas enchiladas, beef birria chimichanga, and mango mojito. The nacho fries were really good and came with loads of toppings. I love how crispy the fries were and the portion was decent-sized to share with 2 people. My boyfriend said his enchiladas were alright, but he did not seem like a big fan of the sauce. I got the beef birria chimichanga, which was absolutely amazing in both taste and presentation. This thing was HUGE and I had to end up bringing it back home to finish. It was flavorful and stuffed with beef, which was great! The mango mojito was alright; I've had better, but it wasn't the worst. The service and vibe were pretty nice, with music playing in the background. They also have outdoor seating, but we opted to sit inside. Overall, I had a pretty good experience and would come back to try other things on their menu!

It used to be one of our favourite places. We ordered delivery with Uber Eats as usual - fries, chicken quesadillas and beef tacos. We didn't get quesadillas at all, but what we've got is a GIANT STAPLER BRACKET inside the taco. I can't even think of the reasons why would you have a stapler in the kitchen. Yes, maybe for packing orders, but how could it fall inside a closed plastic container (and inside the closed taco, it was not on top)? Did they put the bracket there on purpose? This is unacceptable and scary, please beware and think twice if you want to order something from this place!

We came here for dinner. Service was good. Staff was helpful and friendly. We tried the Birria Taco, Fish Taco, Shrimp Taco, pork taco, Nachos steak fried, Pupuas and Churros. The Birria taco was juicy and tender. Pupuas was cheesy and delicious. We also tried some tequila and margaritas. Everything was great. Would come back

Definitely a drinks first kinda of place, but still solid food. Small joint with ambient lighting, good staff and, Latin music.

Probably the best Mexican food I've ever had. It has sufficiently amount of meat in the tacos and empanadas. The serving size is more than enough and the flavours are authentic. I really liked the Birria Tacos! Even for takeout, the sauce came on the side and the food was still hot when it arrived. Definitely recommend grabbing takeout from here!

La Posada is THE spot for Tequila drinks in Camberville. Excellent service and offerings, love the ambiance, and the owner is a kind, warm soul whose passion for and knowledge of tequila really show through his commitment to excellence in his business. One of my favorite date night spots!

My new favorite Spanish restaurant & tequila bar! I finally got RE-introduced to La Posada accidentally and I've been missing out! The Birria Chimichanga is worth the trip alone! The margaritas are amazing and the staff are all friendly, helpful and attentive. I came back the very next day! I'll definitely recommend this place and I'll be back! Perfect for a nice dinner or drinks with friends!

La Posada is so good! I also really appreciate the amount of vegan options that they have and are clearly marked. They have the best vegan pupusas and empanadas that I've had! The vegan pupusas are so flavorful with refried beans and vegan cheese on the inside, and the seasoning of the potatoes and veggies in the empanadas are on point! The servers are always nice and friendly, and the food comes out pretty quickly. I've also done catering with them before through EZCater, and they are super reliable! Everyone enjoyed the food from there! Can't wait to come back!

We tried take out from this place for the first time yesterday because I had a taste for Latin food. I was disappointed. I ordered 3tacos and only received 2. The pork belly tacos were just okay, a large piece of pork belly on tortillas. I don't know what the chicken taco tasted like because that was the missing taco. The appetizer of pork belly and yuca was plain, and they forgot to put the sauce in the bag, so I had to use bbq sauce from home to add to the app. My boyfriend said his meal was okay. He got the carne Asada plate and at least it looked like a whole meal. His plantains were good. I probably wouldn't go here again or recommend to any friends.

Food was excellent. Chicken empanadas are a must here. And a good Ole coconut mojito. Outdoor patio is spacious. The service here is awesome. From waitress to food runner to even the owner coming and checking on us.

Ordered the carne asada bowl and the carne asada taco. Probably one of the worst quality, dried out, tasteless, irreparable carne asada I've had in my life. The tortillas tasted like the garbage ones you would get at a convenience store. Coming from LA, you get exposed to a good amount of Mexican food+ having gone to Mexico a few times too... I'm actually going out of my way to write this because it was just THAT terrible. Best thing here are the chips lmao. Their pickled onions and sauces are an utter disappointment. They need a new chef to reinvent their Mexican food because it's the furthest thing from it.

Honestly, the best food I've had in a long time. The customer service was absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend. Also, I love the fact that they're open until 1am.

Fantastic place and one of my go TOs! This place has amazing cocktails that do not disappoint! I had the strawberry shortcake and the strawberry shortcake! The desserts are just the right amount of sweet!! Loaded!

You have to try the pupusas here, they are my favorite items on the menu along with the vegetable empanadas! Amazing options and very vegan friendly

Tucked away in Sommerville this authentic spot is a must! Ordered carne asada nachos (twice!) The first round was a little lacking in terms of meat but the second round, definitely made up for it. Also ordered the birria tacos that lacked a little bit of flavor but had a delightful level of spice. We usually prefer our birria tacos a little crispy and these were more on the softer side. Nonetheless, would definitely recommend. Their drinks are also worth it! Got a passionfruit and mango margarita and of course had to grab one to go! Service was excellent. Server offered us their tequila tasting and she often checked in about our food. This is a busy place but I appreciated the music playing in the background. Will definitely have to visit again.

La Posada is the absolute best. If I could only have one meal for the rest of my life it would be their passion fruit marg + crispy shrimp bites. Their empanadas are also to die for, the beef and veggie ones are equally as good. The place has a great vibe and it's perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. One of the best parts is their selection of Tequila - the owner is super knowledgeable about it, and if you're lucky enough you'll get to chat with him about it. They just started a Tequila Thursday event where you can sample a bunch of varieties so I really want to try that!

Everything is fantastic at La Posada-- I was really blown away. The unassuming exterior and the smaller space in the middle of Union Square didn't hint to me that it would be such an amazing restaurant. The tequenos (Venezuelan cheese bites, similar to mozz sticks with almost a croissant-like exterior) are one of my favorite things in life, the empanadas are some of the (if not the best) I've ever had-- it's hard to pick between the beef and the veggie empanadas, which almost have a mashed potato vibe. We went for their first Tequila Tasting Thursday - Johe is so knowledgeable and it was such a fun time - all the tequilas were really smooth. The service and friendliness at the restaurant is also something that will keep you coming back. When it was pouring last week and I didn't have an umbrella, they gave me one. It's definitely a place with a fun vibe - great for a casual date night or hanging out with a group of friends.

My boyfriend is very peculiar about what he eats. He enjoyed everything here from the drinks to the carne asada faijitas skillet. Odd enough, he liked my birria tacos more than anything. It's a smaller space but they make it work with seating. The service was great, my waiter was a light skin guy with a beard who made great recommendation and ensure we had everything and then some.

Decided to check out La Posada with my homie. We'd just had a long run and were starving. Best decision of the day. Food and drinks were great! Got margaritas with chicken empanada, pupusas, and tacos. Delicious - would definitely recommend.

Excellent excellent excellent everything is so good selection of food the atmosphere that you encounter the staff are always so friendly all the girls as well as a couple of guys at work behind the bar. Give you hugs and smiles. It's a great place. I recommend it there's always parking outside. They have an outdoor seating area great patio, the owner Joel couldn't be nicer if he tried everyone in Somerville should we go in here all the time
