Salvadorian Restaurant Almost Shut Down by Health Department | Eater Vegas

"At 1956 E. Charleston Blvd., I reported that La Pupusa Loka, a Salvadorian restaurant, earned 39 demerits during a routine Southern Nevada Health District inspection on Tuesday, April 10 — just two points short of the immediate-shutdown threshold. Inspectors documented spoiled food, an inadequate number of hand-washing facilities, ineffective pest-control measures, unposted grade cards and other violations. The health department previously closed the restaurant in September 2012 after it received 44 demerits, though inspections dating back to 2010 also show a mix of A and B grades. The district conducts unannounced inspections at least annually, posts results online about five days afterward, and routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits; establishments may request re-inspections." - Susan Stapleton

Easily the best pupusas de arroz I've had so far, they are stuffed to the brim with filling, my yuca and chicharron were crispy and they sell the original kolashampan. What more could you ask for?

Pupusas are delicious with lots of flavor and are very cheesy, the curtido has an unique taste and the tomatoe sauce brings the final touch to the Pupusas ... NOT THIS ONES. Curtido had no taste/flavor and the tomato sauce looked like it was water down. The Pupusas had little to no cheese, beans and pork. Being a Latina, I’ve tried many different places that sale Pupusas, but I will never try this one again. I wouldn’t know how the service was since I Doordash my order.

The worst service and making mistake on the orders due to language gap and not be acountable to mend the situation. The front lady also over charged me for 2 drinks when I only told her, i wanted small. I have let it go. Then, i had a sticky wtitten, I would like to have 4 Chicarron and queso. They give us beans and cheese. I went back to let the manager know that they made the wrong one, but the lady had such an bad attitude. I have left the bag of pupusa for her to keep. My coworkers and I will never go back there again. The place looks unclean and the service is not on there top service!

This place could be better if the owner's attitude was more nicer than crappier. They don't treat everyone the same they're tortillas are good for the price. The place is hard to get to because of all the construction.
