"At 1956 E. Charleston Blvd., I reported that La Pupusa Loka, a Salvadorian restaurant, earned 39 demerits during a routine Southern Nevada Health District inspection on Tuesday, April 10 — just two points short of the immediate-shutdown threshold. Inspectors documented spoiled food, an inadequate number of hand-washing facilities, ineffective pest-control measures, unposted grade cards and other violations. The health department previously closed the restaurant in September 2012 after it received 44 demerits, though inspections dating back to 2010 also show a mix of A and B grades. The district conducts unannounced inspections at least annually, posts results online about five days afterward, and routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits; establishments may request re-inspections." - Susan Stapleton
