"Originally a modest inn opened in 1822, this Vienne institution was made famous by the emblematic couple of Mado and Fernand Point in the early 20C. It was taken over by Patrick Henriroux in 1989 and has since continued to evolve on his watch: a designer decor in the dining area, the addition of a second restaurant (PH3), a charming hotel and a cocktail bar… As for the food, classical dishes are given a highly precise and pared-back contemporary twist: "fillet of sole with shellfish velouté, tricolour tian with smoky notes"; juicy Aubrac beef tenderloin, millefeuille of potatoes and beef cheeks, Côte-Rôtie jus; chocolate piano, grilled coffee-infused crème anglaise sauce. The breath-taking cellar book is a dizzying array of Côtes-Rôties and Condrieu, wines that go perfectly with this cuisine. It is worth noting that the lunchtime menu is a real bargain, and the slick, polished service upholds the time-honoured traditions of France's grand old establishments." - Michelin Inspector

Judith Jones’s ‘Love Me, Feed Me’ Took Cooking for Dogs Seriously | Eater

"On a late-1940s road trip from Paris to Provence, a group of friends stopped at a fancier-than-expected, three-Michelin-starred restaurant just outside Vienne; the celebrated chef Fernand Point warmly greeted the party’s poodle, Nikki, even kissing her brow and making sure she shared in every course. That extraordinary meal—served by one of the era’s most revered chefs—introduced the young American visitor to fine French dining, proved life-changing, and planted the seed for her later conviction that dogs deserve thoughtfully prepared human food, a philosophy she would eventually turn into a cookbook." - Aimee Levitt

One of the very best hotels I have ever stayed at. From the welcome to the au revoir it was as near perfect as you could imagine. All of the staff were helpful and friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. The hotel throughout is beautifully designed, elegant and well appointed, and set in equally beautiful gardens. Finally the food is delicious, beautifully [again!] presented and served. A special mention should be made of the breakfast for elegance and quality. ||It is worth staying at La Pyramide just for the sake of being there - though Vienne and the proximity to Lyons is a plus!

Nice hotel, beautiful gardens and parking on premises. Rooms are nicely appointed with large showers, robes and nice towels. Floor and towel heater in the bathroom. Restaurants and bar are quite pricey.

We liked our suite very much and spent the afternoon there (we were allowed to check in before 2 pm). It had a large entry hall with closets and storage. Off of it was the toilet and the bathroom (with two sinks, a huge tub and a walk in shower (with a door—imagine that). After the front hall was a desk area with two comfortable chairs. On the other side of that room was the bedroom and sitting area with a table, two comfortable chairs in front of the TV (with lots and lots of storage under and around the TV) and on the opposite side of that room was the king bed and two bedside tables. It was all very comfortable except for the heat. There was no air conditioning at that time of year. We had the windows open even though it was a windy day and it was still 77° F in the room. On the table in front of the TV in the bedroom sitting area was fruit (including a cup of pineapple and passion fruit), nougat and mint chocolates. It was a lovely welcome gift. We loved the suite and how well-designed and modern the amenities were, including the lights. The bathroom was very good for us too. We would have moved in long-term if it only had a kitchen.

What an amazing hotel! Great location to visit Vienne. Lovely garden, fabulous rooms…||….but above all are the wonderful staff. Every single member of staff gave excellent and friendly service. ||We ate in the bistro each night which was also excellent.

The hotel is well-place by the La Pyramide. It is fairly small, but has a great large courtyard/garden. The staff are very welcoming. We did not eat at the Michelin restaurant (it is closed Tuesday and Wednesday when we were there) but the Bistro restaurant was fantastic.

We went to La Pyramide to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and highly recommend it. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms impeccable and the onsite restaurant is simply outstanding. Despite being a gastronomical restaurant, the wait staff is not pompous, they make you feel right at home.
