White-tablecloth destination for upscale Cuban cuisine in colorful surrounds with live piano music.
"La Rosa takes hearty Cuban food, the kind you’ll find at most , and dresses it up. Their dining room is set with white tablecloths and many of their dishes are artistically garnished with edible flowers. They also have the most colorful vaca frita we’ve ever seen—but not the best. It’s missing that quintessential crispiness that all usually have. Not everything is a miss though. Order the croquetas de bacalao, which are light, delicate, and fluffy. And definitely get the star of the menu, the pork chicharrones so fresh they’re still crackling when you eat them. " - Virginia Otazo
"Editor Favorites Mentioned This Episode La Rosa Restaurant"
"La Rosa is out-of-the-way enough that few tourists know about it—and even if they do, they don’t often make the trek from their hotels in South Beach or downtown Miami to give it a try. For many, it’s a special occasion spot, so expect all the noise that comes with it. Try two of the restaurant’s most popular dishes: the carne de puerco and the chuletón de puerco relleno (and don't skip the seafood)." - Jennifer M. Wood
"A local favorite for years, La Rosa serves a variety of standout dishes include the vaca frita de carne, sopa de pollo, and bistec empanizado, along with the much talked about paella — all cooked by the owner himself." - Mary Jo Almeida Shore
