"Located on the first floor of the Hotel Storchen, La Rôtisserie is every bit as tastefully decorated as the establishment that houses it – which was first mentioned in the 14C. It has a beautiful dining room with high ceilings, large arched windows and elegant, high-quality furnishings – this is a traditional yet contemporary affair. In the kitchen, the chefs work with precision and great skill to produce their own modern, international take on classic cuisine. In fine weather, be sure to head out onto the fantastic terrace – from this wonderful old-town location you can take in views of the Limmat River and the historical buildings laid out on the other side of the water." - Michelin Inspector

One of the best dining experiences we’ve had to date! You can’t expect anything less from a Michelin star restaurant. Dined here on my birthday and didn’t even think about overindulging! From amuse-bouches to dessert, we were stunned. We explored the menu and still cannot stop thinking about some of our favorite dishes. The best tuna tartar I’ve ever had, mouth watering buttered raviolis, to the most delicious Japanese A5 wagyu slices. Highly recommend to anyone stopping through Zurich! Fine dining at its finest!

Excellent place! Food is as you would expect in Michelin rated restaurant, flavorful and unique and presentation is also memorable. Service is wonderful, very polite and attentive. I particularly enjoyed all the little compliments before the food I ordered. Also the place is beautiful, overlooking the water and with huge windows it is easy to enjoy the view. Highly recommend.

One of my happiest moments in zürich! The view was absolutely breathtaking. The service was so heartwarming. The mocktails were the tastiest drinks I’ve ever had in my life. The food was great each plate was a masterpiece that I couldn’t wait to ruin and devour. We were limited with our order due to not eating pork so we all had the fish it was really delicious. My dad complained about the portions, he wasn’t full after the meal so for those with a big appetite eat a snack before or after the meal. The complimentary dessert with the receipt was really cute!

Incredible restaurant! we had an exceptional dinner, all the dishes were excellent! We are used to Michelin-starred restaurants but this one really stands out from the other restaurants. the service lives up to our expectations. from starter to dessert, everything was delicious. thank you we will come back during our next stay in Zurich. go ahead with your eyes closed

Google
Good vibes, staff was so friendly and welcoming! Everything was up to standard and we ordered ravioli twice as they were absolutely out of this world. We tried another Michelin restaurant in Zurich but I'd come back here.

The food was OK but nothing special, so totally overrated. You can eat much better in Zürich. But the service was great. regarding the atmosphere, it’s really very old fashion style… we were definitely the youngest couple there. There was no music and not really a nice vibe. we had each three plates and one glass of wine and paint Fr.450.

La Rotisserie was our best meal in Switzerland by far! The Australian Wagyu Short Rib was phenomenal, so soft and perfectly slow cooked with an excellent teriyaki sauce. They even included a mini bao bun with the excess meat and sauce, so good. The Glazed Gnochetti was also excellent, we had a main course size of it. The Balfego Tuna was great, it comes with some baked oysters on top. The service was a highlight, our waiter was so welcoming and always had a smile. They also gave us a ton of extra small dishes and desserts, compliments of the chef - they were all new dishes we had never experienced before, I think they deserve a Michelin star! It gets pretty busy, so I would get a reservation, even if you are staying at Storchen.

We had a 3-gang lunch. I was surprised by the quick service, that suits business lunch. Every plate was tasty and nice presentations. I personally like cream sauce on the veal, but the soup was slightly too rich and thick for me. The servers were all friendly and professional. We will definitely come back.

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal with exceptionally good service at a corner table overlooking the river on one side and the lake in the distance. The friends who recommended this restaurant to us also loved everything about it.

Yelp
A nice dinner, great service, creative dishes. They are listed as a one star michelin restaurant. I got the classic veal dish with kidneys, mushroom cream sauce served over a potato patty. We also shared oysters. Fois gras and a few other items. Dessert was pumpkin pie with lavendar ice cream. A very special place for dinner in Zurich.

Yelp
Disappointed that this place wasn't measuring up to the hype and our expectation. The food was good but service was kind of strange. Our server offered us some off the menu items/drinks right off the bat and made it sound like it was complimentary... but to our surprise at the end, she charged us $80 for those. Not a big deal to pay for those but it's malpractice and deceitful for them to hide the fact that it's separate from our fixed priced menu and then charge us a high amount for it.

Yelp
A traditional Swiss eatery, La Rôtisserie is located in the heart of Zurich, Switzerland. The establishment is renowned for its Swiss classics, including rotisserie-cooked chicken, prepared using seasonal, fresh ingredients. Situated within a historic tower in the heart of Zurich, La Rôtisserie is located. Formerly a coaching inn, the structure retains several original characteristics, including the wooden beams and the lofty ceilings. In a traditional Swiss design, the dining room is adorned with red and white striped tablecloths and wooden tables and benches. Additionally, the restaurant features a cozy bar where patrons can enjoy a drink before or after dinner. The La Rôtisserie menu showcases an extensive assortment of Swiss fare, comprising: Rotisserie-prepared chicken: The chicken is succulent and has a crisp exterior due to its cooking over an open fire. Various side dishes, including roasted potatoes, vegetables, and rice, are served with the chicken. This traditional Swiss dish, Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, consists of veal cutlets cooked in a creamy mushroom sauce. Rosti, a variety of Swiss potato pancakes, typically accompanies it. Älplermagronen is a substantial Swiss entrée composed of potatoes, bacon, and cheese. This popular winter dish is available at La Rôtisserie throughout the year. Rosti: Rosti is a variety of Swiss potato pancakes composed of bacon, grated potatoes, and onions. Although it is frequently paired with Swiss dishes, it can also be savored independently. Aside from the main course, La Rôtisserie also offers a daily specials menu comprised of locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. The daily specials menu at La Rôtisserie is subject to frequent changes, ensuring that patrons are consistently presented with novel offerings. Additionally, La Rôtisserie offers an extensive wine list featuring an assortment of Swiss and international wines. An enthusiastic sommelier curates the wine list and is always willing to assist diners in selecting the ideal wine to complement their entree. The staff at La Rôtisserie is courteous and dedicated. Every staff member is delighted to respond to inquiries regarding the menu or the wine list. Additionally, they eagerly offer suggestions considering your dietary restrictions or personal preferences. The following are supplementary particulars regarding my experience at La Rôtisserie that I have neglected to mention thus far: I commenced my repast by slicing carpaccio de boeuf fumé, which consists of smoked beef. After being sliced thinly, the carpaccio was garnished with a delectable Parmesan cheese dressing. I ordered poulet rôti à la broche (rotisserie-cooked chicken) for my main course. The chicken was rendered succulent and had skin that was perfectly browned. Side dishes of roasted potatoes and vegetables accompanied the dish. I consumed tarte au citron meringuée (lemon meringue tart) for dessert. The tart featured a delectable lemon filling and a meringue topping; it was airy and light. In addition, a glass of Chasselas wine accompanied my meal. Chasselas is a Swiss wine renowned for its fruity and crisp aroma. It worked exceptionally well with the chicken. In general, my dining experience at La Rôtisserie was exceptional. The ambiance was inviting and warm, the service was excellent, and the food was delectable. It is highly recommended to anyone in Zurich searching for a traditional Swiss eatery.

Yelp
Deserve Michelin Star, we enjoy the restaurant with very delicious fine food! We had such a wonderful time here, Zürich, next to the river.

Yelp
Sometimes everything aligns to create the most memorable experience of a city. Perfect Autumn weather kept the most beautiful terrace in Zurich open at the already acclaimed La Rotisserie making for the perfect lunch. The food, seasonal. Italian influences intermixed with Swiss classics or Italian dishes sprinkled with Swiss ingredients. Either way you go, the dishes sing. For starters, the saffron risotto topped with gently poached gamberi and crisp calamari is outstanding. The characteristic "fishy" aroma of the shrimp, its soft texture and gentle sweetness adds just the right amount of oceanic complexity to the beautifully seasoned saffron risotto. Burata cheese adds richness. The venison carpaccio equally well done. A thin chilled layer of deeply colored gamey venison surrounds a ball of burata cheese. The milky sweetness makes the venison all kinds of good. Pickled carrots, pumpkin, and cucumber with bright shards of mint balance the dish. A grilled romaine lettuce heart adds surprisingly pleasing bitterness that tricks the mind into thinking the dish is actually cooked. For larger dishes, the veal shank ravioli is very good. Extremely thin egg pasta surrounds a teaspoon of tender, well flavored veal shank. The fresh pasta, cooked very al dente is well seasoned. It is finished in white wine reduction for acidity and sweet, rich veal demi. Finally, the venison loin, excellent. Medium rare, two beautiful slices dressed in a wonderful juniper infused venison jus that speaks to the season. The accompanying creamy celeriac purée teases out subtle flavors of the venison. Deep fried, aggressively seasoned, celery root chips adds textural complexity and required salinity. Wild cranberries and Brussels sprout leaves ultimately speak to the season. Outstanding, polished, friendly service. Very well done wine list with heavy emphasis on France, Italy, and especially Switzerland. Not inexpensive, CHF 325 lunch for two but well worth it at this amazing Old Town eatery.

Yelp
Walking from Lindenhof towards the Grossmünster I passed the Storchen hotel and noticed the outside seating for their restaurant. It was Sunday and there were some openings so I decided to see what it was all about. It was a cooler day so inside was busy. There's a a great view of the canal, Rathaus & Grossmünster. Ordered a Feldschlosschen. A light and refreshing Swiss Lager. They had a weekend special menu so decided to try the Avocado with Smoked Salmon & Egg toast. It was 17 CHF and this was a special so the restaurant is pricey. That said, the open faced sandwich was amazing! Perfectly scrambled eggs topped with the salmon and nicely completed by the guacamole. Well worth it and a light late lunch. The servers were friendly & attentive. I would imagine Sundays would be the best day for the outside seats given many of shops & restaurants in the area are closed. Great spot for a drink with a great view!

Yelp
(4) ~ very good overall food & service. Note: We ate at the Terrace, overlooking the river, which has the same menu as La Rotisserie. MENU: ** "Storchen" iced coffee = (4.25) Very good ** Water(Valser) = (4) very good ** Amuse Bouche = (4) very good ** Porcini Cappuccino = (4) very good * Hickory-Smoked Charcoal-Grilled Beef Filet = (3.75) Good, But I asked for Medium "Rare" and got Medium "Well":( * After Dinner Chocolates = (3.75) Good

Yelp
This review is for the upstairs dining room - great ambiance, service, and food. The views from the dining room are spectacular, and the room itself manages a modern and clean decor, that holds onto some old world elements. I had the sea bass, which was perfectly cooked with a crispy skin, which came on a bed of shaved asparagus with orange zest. The side of red rice was fantastic, with a bit of acidity that matched the citrus seasoning of the fish.

Yelp
Whaaaaat? There's no review for Storchen yet? Unbelievable! I went to this restaurant because 1. they serve Chateaubriand 2. because of the Chateaubriand 3. you can easily imagine what a wonderful view this place offers. The Chateaubriand was simply to die for. If you taste it and feel like dying: wait a bit and die later because the meat comes in two classy servings, different sauces and different sides. I remember I liked one sauce better than the other but simply based on personal preference. 1st serving with mashed potatoes + that oh so delicious sauce bernaise, 2nd: risotto with pepper sauce (gravy kind, not creamy). Have I mentioned yet it was delicious??? And veal ravioli as a starter? Yes order them! The kitchen staff really knew what they were doing. Well, I could go on and on about the delicious food but I'd rather say go and try it. You can't go wrong. The atmosphere was initially as starched as the napkins. But after a few almost funny comments from my side the staff started to realize we were not looking for "ooh I'm so posh and hardly talk to the staff" atmosphere but a fun and relaxed evening. And that was what we ended up with. I was impressed with the sommelier. Not only was he very friendly and pleasant, I think he also gave me a bottled wine by the glass. I told him I couldn't drink half a bottle of wine and promise him I wouldn't dance on the table but he understood I really was into wine. I highly appreciated the way he hosted us. The view was indeed wonderful. It was too cold to sit on the balcony. First I was a bit disappointed but then I realized what a gem the inside was! Like the staff not a hip it place but an adorable traditional room with lots of wood. If you know what Zurich's Zunft means, you get the idea. Despite sitting inside I saw the Grossmünster which I call the Twin Towers and I really love these towers. So I was sitting there, admiring the view and I was happy as clam. The setting is very classy and there are a lot of 50y+ people. But I also think there is a romantic atmosphere to it. There were business men and couples and I could also imagine that a smaller group of friends could enjoy themselves as long as they do not feel the urge to get loud and behave crazily. This is a place is like the heart of Zurich where you can feel it beat to a time-honoured rhythm.
