The original Soup Dumplings were very flavorful and served with dipping sauce with lemon rind slivers was a great start. Next I ordered General Tso’s Chicken which although very simple came with rice and steamed broccoli but only wish there was more sauce… Service was friendly and efficient.

Perhaps THE best Chinese food in Harlem (the fried rice could use bean sprouts) and by far the best dumplings in town. Situated right off the 1 train on W. 125th st. Try their shrimp dumplings and smoothie (lychee). Can't go wrong with that.

My girl and I had the pork and kimchi soup dumplings (6),its her fav at this spot. I enjoyed the soup in the dumplings, a bit tangy from the hint of kimchi flavor. The rice cake was good and big meat. Overall cute place but kind of expensive. ($46)

Dumplings were great! We enjoyed the edamame and scallion pancakes as well. We also got the braised beef noodle soup. The beef was delicious, but the noodles were a bit over cooked for me. Overall, very good experience!

Been here twice so far, the first time I got veggie dumplings based on other reviews and beef pancake wrap-YUM. The second time I ate here I got pan fried dumplings and those blew the veggie dumplings out of the water!! Delish :) great place in Morningside to get dumplings. Looking forward to trying some of their other menu items. Both times food has been hot and fresh.

I had the delicious beef low mein!! The portion was large, with tasty noodles & bokchow. Very flavorful. With comforting house tea. I really enjoyed it all!! Friendly service & staff.

Delivery was fast, food was hot and packed well. Kimchi pork dumplings and string beans were good. Hot and Spicy chicken was not good--the flavor and texture seemed really off. The General Tsos chicken was dry and stringy. The cold sesame noodles weren't great. Prices were much to high for the quality.

My brother and i were searching for something to eat. I googled "soup dumplings near me". And man when i tell you this place DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!!! Everything we ordered was delicious, fresh and pleasing to the soul. This will be my new favorite place when i come to visit my family. Pics of the food we ordered below. Service was excellent and did not have to wait too long. Also, it wasn't busy. Ambiance was aesthetically pleasing. This place is a MUST TRY!!!!

On our way to ramen, my partner noticed this place. Entranced by their choice of Xiao long bao he decided to take table. Food:4/5 The food is solid. You can tell how good a restaurant is by its patrons. It was almost completely full when we walked in. My favorite dish was the tofu with shrimp. It was large, simple, and a perfect zen dish after some dumplings and nutty noodles. I really appreciated that they don't used fried tofu and the shrimp was fresh! Service: 4/5 We got sat down promptly and provided with ice cold water. Instinctively, I asked for tea, which they assumed bubble tea. After clarifying, I just want regular hot tea they came back with a cute tea pot for my partner and I to share. All in all, service was good. My only pet peeve was their gave us a black vinegar dish with ginger, but with no spoons. So, I ended up having to pour my vinegar into my Xiao long bao. All on all, I would definitely go back again. They were quick, the food was good, and it was not too expensive.

I still like this place. The food is always good, although now quite expensive. I was a little disappointed in the chicken dumpling today because the taste was just off. My soup dumplings were still delightful. The service here is always welcoming, and the restaurant is always clean. They have indoor and outdoor dining, and I think I will continue to come buy my soup dumplings from this location, but man, not as much anymore in this economy. I will give two thumbs up and say Happy Yelping!

Super nice little spot to go for lunch or dinner. Very quick service and seating for parties of various sizes whether you are a cozy couple or a small work group. The dumplings are in orders of six, handmade, and around $11. I wish there was a variety option, but we were able to share. I got the shrimp steamed dumplings and they were delicious. A coworker got some peanut noodles with pork and it was also amazing. If you're not sharing, it's hard to commit to one big carboload dish so keep that in mind. They did not love splitting the check, but they did so anyway. Really appreciate that. I ordered a bubble tea and asked for it to be less sweet. It was really really sweet and syrupy. One of my least favorite bubble teas I've ever had as it tasted pretty artificial. I did get the almond one for reference. The food came out fast, the menu, a simple, and everything tasted homemade. In general, I would not come here alone, but I will come here to share.

I have yet to try their soup dumplings (which seem to be a hit on Yelp), but I have ordered their Shredded Beef with Hot Pepper twice now, and I was delighted both times. The sauce is flavorful and has a hint of sweetness to it. The dish isn't very spicy, but it's still delicious. The second time that I ordered food from here, I got takeout, and my rice was somewhat dry; that is my only complaint. The dish reminds me of the beef with peppers that I used to get at a Chinese restaurant near my old home; it brings back fond memories! The service is great--we got our food quickly, and everyone in the restaurant was lovely. La Salle is a fun spot to grab a quick bite or to order takeout from during final exam season! ;)

Fantastic food. Fair prices. Had the Dan Dan noodles and a beef with peppers and onions. Highly recommended.

Wandered into La Salle's tonight for a quick dinner. Ordered pork XLB and Beef spicy pepper soup. The XLB was excellent and they come 6 on a bamboo steamer. Loved the soup and the wrapping. Unfortunately, the noodle soup was a miss. They specifically asked me if spicy was okay and I honestly felt like they were just green bell peppers with no spice. The broth was okay but the beef was nice and tender. Overall, will come back for the XLBs.

Absolutely fantastic soup dumplings in West Harlem! Handmade with savory soup and the perfect amount of meat. Great space for dining in (with friendly staff), and also capacity for takeout. There is a limited non-dumpling menu here, which also did pretty good at satisfying our cravings.

I always get the steamed pork dumplings, milk tea, a scallion pancake, and edamame. 10/10 every time. Good vibes only, very small and friendly, and the service is very nice.

The food comes out fairly quickly, especially if you go earlier in the day. But it's so delicious. The string beans and the general tsos unchicken will be go to's for me from now on. It's just all so well seasoned and the flavors are all delicious. The honeydew drinks were also really good, but if you're looking for a sweeter Thai Tea, maybe don't go for this one. Still good though! And the service is kind and prompt. Ended up going twice in one week!

My absolute favorite favorite place to get soup dumplings, no exaggeration. They are the best most flavorful soup dumplings ever. I live in Brooklyn and travel all the way to Harlem just to eat here. I've probably have gone almost 20 times now. Lol the rest of their food is really delicious as well I've tried most of their menu since it's pretty small and straight to the point. It's definitely worth the trip. It's small inside but that's what makes it perfect. The small staff is great on making sure you get your food quickly. Absolutely love this place and everyone should drop in , your missing out ! (also don't have the best pics since I always eat everything to fast, lol )

I tried La Salle for the first time a few weeks with a small group for dinner. I really appreciated the many options that they had! I highly recommend the shrimp dumplings but I plan to come back try their other options. I do think you can get cheaper dumplings elsewhere (Chinatown), however it's a great uptown spot if you are looking for something quick and convenient. Also great service!

Post pandemic The food is so horrible and tasteless and reminds me a the cheapest throwaway Chinese food you can order. Even after alcohol, this food could not satisfy any hunger. I ordered 2 types of soup dumplings. No flavor, no soup, barely any filling. I was in shock. Even when I received it I was shocked with how it was deflated. There was literally no liquid. And the stuffing was mushy The shrimp fried rice use to have sooo much flavor. It had shrimp and no flavor. I will never eat hear again I am sorry that inflation and Covid has done this to your establishment I have order here several times after the pandemic and keep thinking I got based batches when now I can say the food has not only gotten consistently bad, but they are trying their best to survive cutting corners

Enjoyed a beautiful summer's evening dining on their patio last night (despite the train noise coming from above). I've been waiting to try La Salle for a long time and they delivered. The pan fried pork dumplings were stellar - some of the best I've ever had. The pork soup dumplings were also excellent. It might sound small, but I was pleased that each of us got our own dipping sauces for the dumplings. Next time I'd like to try the pork and kimchi soup dumplings. We also very much enjoyed the beef scallion pancake sandwich -which had flavorful beef and cucumber wrapped in a fluffy scallion pancake - and the fresh sautéed bok choy. Yum, yum, yum all around.

My girlfriend really like this place's pork and kimchi soup dumplings. The soup is good a hint of spice w the kimchi flavor and it came w 6dumplings. The rice cake is very good and the establishment is nice and ppl were friendly. Funny calm spot.

The Best! We eat here almost every weekend! Love the pan fried dumplings! Fast service, never disappointed. The string beans are amazing!

Everything was great. The food hot and tasty. The prices not too exorbitant. If we're ever in the area again we will stop by. First start with the mango tango. You won't regret it. The pork xao long bao was definitely worth it. Thanks La Salle!

I had heard so many good things about this place that I was very happy to have had a chance to visit. I don't know who in the world would think that this in any way is a good dumpling restaurant. I'm an American who has lived in Hong Kong for many years and this place is absolute rubbish. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the decor is not bad... kind of minimalist - polished concrete floors, red metal chairs, decent lighting (as in not the usual 3000 Watt bulb lighting), but that's about it. Now to what is not positive: - The food is awful...the scallion pancakes were dry and dull. - The steamed veggie dumplings are gelatinous and tasteless. - The beef and broccoli was comprised of fatty beef and a tiny amount of broccoli. - The rice, which is central to a Chinese meal, was of very poor quality (after 30 years in Asia, I KNOW rice!). The service was perfunctory- it felt like a place that wanted to focus on takeout, and the appearance of dining guests was an annoyance. On top of it all, this place is very expensive for the food they serve. It was a huge disappointment. My suggestion is to give this place a miss.

Kind of a let down but we did order delivery and I'm unsure if it's better in person. I feel like I've personally had better XLB and didn't love the flavor of these that much. We also got the impossible ones and the impossible fried rice which I think are pretty good substitutes for any vegetarians. Personal favorite was the general tso's unchicken for sure. This is probably the only dish I would order again.

What a pleasant experience all around. I introduced myself to Sam and he was very understanding about cross-contamination for vegetarians. Indeed they have an entire section of the menu dedicated to plant based entrees. Sam explained all the cookware are cleaned well after each food prep. That sounded great and when I asked about utensils he simply asked if I would like me to have new utensils he would make sure it would happen. All our dishes were well prepared. Colin noodles had a lighter flavor to them (as other reviews indicated) and was a nice change. Vegetable soon needed a little extra flavor and yet still tasty. Outdoor seating a plus. It is unfortunate we live well outside of delivery zone and worth the trip.

The people who work here are always so nice and accommodating. Our food always come out so fast and delicious!! High quality take away as well.

This place is a Columbia University student staple! I came here not too long ago for the first time even though I've been saying it for a while and I was really surprised at the quality of food and service. While you can find Chinese places for cheaper elsewhere and the food portions were smaller than expected, I really enjoyed eating it! Also, the length and accessibility of the menu option is something to keep in mind as a non-native Chinese reader. There are also boba and smoothie options!

The xiao long bao is very yummy and the broth inside tastes great. I ordered their beef pancake wrap and it was great too. The restaurant is right by Columbia so it's very convenient for college students to eat there

The dumplings are top notch and so is the spicy pork. Yum. Excellent, friendly service.

I consider myself a harsh critic when it comes to soup dumplings and this spot really nailed it! Thin dough, tasty filling and perfect ratio of filling to soup. Hole in the wall by Columbia's main campus, but seriously legit. Would frequent La Salle Dumpling Room more often if it was located closer to the UWS. Highly recommend going out of your way to try these dumplings. Decided to stick with dumplings exclusively this time around at La Salle Dumpling Room, however need to come back for more!!

LaSalle is overpriced when compared to your local hole in the wall Asian establishment and definitely when compared to nearby restaurants. Let's just get that out of the way. So on that alone, some people will not give it the time of day. However, the extra cost goes a long way to create ambiance in the decor (even during the COVID-19 pause), and leads to dishes that are well prepared and of a higher quality than your average hole in the wall. The service is quick, the place is spotless and the food is good. I have a soft spot for their vegetable dumplings, scallion pancake with beef and their noodles. And while this is not a place to impress a first date, it's a good place for a decent meal with friends or an established relation. Check it out and take a walk by the Harlem piers after to burn off some of the food you've scored!

The soup dumplings here are consistently delicious. Today was no exception. Steaming hot, filled with soup, a wonderful clean taste from fresh ingredients. The dipping vinegar they use here is pungent and delicious, not like the watered-down versions you find elsewhere. I've had many versions of dumplings in the city. These are my favorite. We also had shrimp noodles and beef with peppers. All were fresh and delicious. The staff here are all very nice and attentive and the space is quite comfortable. Love watching the #1 train passing by the large windows.

Vegetable dumplings, chicken dumplings: the chicken dumplings are doughy. I ordered food delivery, so the dough got mushy and a bit soggy. The dough for the vegetable dumplings was thinner, but obviously not wonton-thin, and did not get mushy. They lined parchment paper under the vegetable dumplings, but not the chicken dumplings, so I don't know if that affected or preserved the dough in any way. The dumpling fillings tasted fine. These dumplings weren't bad, but for $9.50 for 6 dumplings, I don't know if I would order them again. Beef scallion pancake rolls: These were good! The flavors were very balanced and was not overpowered with hoisin sauce. There was the perfect amount of beef, onions, cucumbers, and dough.

We've been eating here for years. The food is consistantly good. We went by the other day and realized I'd never returned the love they have given me through their cooking. Their xiaolongbao (Soup Dumplings) are made on the premises and are hot and good.

I had been looking for a SOUP dumpling place in NYC after having tried them in San Diego and found this gem of a place. I absolutely love soup dumplings. I had been to other dumpling spot but none had broth squirt out of the dumpling like a soup dumpling should. This place offers other menu options which were also great. The friend rice and sesame noodles were really good too but the soup dumplings were super delicious.

Came here because it was near to the Manhattan School of Music with a family who attends wanted to come here for their soup dumplings. Busy at dinner, but able to walk in without wait on a Saturday night was nice. Beautiful decor of vintage post-war inspired on the walls and structure. Apps ordered were: beef wrapped in scallion pancake which was amazing... beef marinated sweet & tangy wrapped in a toasted but fluffy & doughy scallion well infused pancake. The pan fried pork dumplings were presented rolled which I've never seen before, fried golden and the filling was well seasoned. Also got loads of pork & crabmeat soup dumplings, as well as regular pork soup dumplings.The soup dumplings were well portioned, the dough was thicker than what I've tried and they were made well, not dry on the inside. The soup was light and the filling was delectable. Lots of Yelp pictures for the dong jong rice bowl & was totally on point with following that suggestion! Like a beef don bowl with added onions, scallions & a beautiful sunny egg you can burst & run all over. Saucy, tangy and well balanced. It was a hit with the table. The double treasure was our last entree with a great mix of 2 proteins chicken & shrimp in a konngpao sauce. However, my elderly can't handle the spice & the waitress was kind enough to inform us that spice can be withheld. Delish dish, with peanuts that added that texture aside from the soft, juicy chicken bite sized chunks and sauced glazed shrimp. A small bowl of white rice came with it. We enjoyed a family dinner, wouldn't mind coming here again!

Ordered on Seamless recently and was pleasantly surprised. I got the chicken dumplings in spicy vinaigrette and the pan fried pork dumplings - both good. Will be back for more.

La Salle Street is my street. When I am hungry, I always think about the "snow cabbage noddles with pork strips" from the LS Dumpling room. I like many dishes, such steamed dumplings, beef roll and tofu. The service is good. The manager sometimes treats my son with a bubble tea. Before Covid, they restaurant is full at the lunch. It situates near Manhattan School of Music, Columbia University and is on Broadway. I wish the eatery will have WiFi someday.

I LOVE ordering in from La Salle. Their food is absolutely delicious. You can tell the quality of the food is excellent. Bravo to the chefs! As a vegetarian, my favorite dishes are... - Cold sesame noodles - Steamed veggie dumplings - Sautéed dried string beans - Veggie fried rice It's not just another Chinese restaurant. It's an excellent place to both go to in person as well as order in from.

The soup dumplings were so good! Also had the popcorn chicken appetizer which was delicious. The service was excellent and very friendly and helpful as well. Will come back to try the regular pork dumplings next time.

I really like this place. When I came a few weeks back there wasnt too many people there, but it's got a small nice layout with good decor and furnishings. The soup dumplings were excellent (I got the crab and pork). I've never had it before but they were really good. Not really my type of food though. Soup inside :ppp Great service too, really good service. The waiter/host was working hard and efficiently taking care of the multiple groups that came after me.

This is for delivery. Food was amazing. The pan fried and bao pork dumplings were my favorite. Did love the 10 ingredient rice, was very dry. Solid place uptown for a dumpling fix.

My friend and I stumbled on this place after a long day of studying at a coffee shop, and decided to go in and try it out. We ordered three types of dumplings and split them family style, and together that filled us up super well so if you're going with one other person that's definitely what I recommend. The restaurant was around half-full when we walked in and we were seated and served almost immediately, which was nice. The decor and ambiance was also super modern while retaining a traditional Chinese vibe. All three types of dumplings were clearly handmade and tasted super fresh. FOOD: Chicken dumplings (5/5) - The filling tasted amazing and juicy, and the dumplings were super big too. The dumpling skins were kind of thick but I didn't mind because of how soft they were. Veggie dumplings (4/5) - I liked that you could clearly taste all the ingredients (mushrooms, etc) of the filling, but my one complaint was that the filling was kind of bland and under salted. They could've definitely added some more soy sauce to the insides. Pork soup dumplings (4.5/5) - These dumplings were filled generously with hot soup and I definitely recommend getting these. They're especially great compared to normal pork dumplings. The skin of these could've been a little thinner, but they're really solid xiao long bao!

This place is actually HEAVENLY. I would sell my entire family for a meal here. If you go to Columbia and don't come here you're definitely missing out. I transcended when I took my first bite. I'm dropping out of college to live and work for this more than respectable establishment

I went there for the first time when I had a lunch break. I got the pork xiao long bao (soup dumpling) and they were delicious! I told myself I would only buy one order which comes with 6, but after finishing my order, I had to get more. The wait was not long at all and the servers make sure you always have water. Love it here and will definitely continue going! :)

Had the soup dumplings, fried dumplings and cold sesame noodle. Soup dumplings were the tastiest. They had a nice kimchi bite to them. Also, they weren't made so hot that they needed to sit for 20 minutes before being edible. Sooooo good. Cold sesame noodles were on point. High quality noodles and sesame taste came from using the right mix of soy sauce and sesame, not Jiffy. Listen, Jiffy is OK at home in a pinch but too many spots resort to this. Sweetness that never tastes authentic. Pan fried dumplings were third although this is not an insult. Texture was on point with the fried bottom and softer sides. Will return for sure.

The spicy cumin beef is my favorite item here. It is tasty and filling. It is a bit tough to eat because it is dry, but it is flavorful and worth the bite. The chicken with broccoli is good as well. You receive large portions with each entree. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Convenient location with easy-to-find street parking nearby.

We've ordered pickup from here several times now and the food is always incredible. The people who work there are super friendly and get you what you need and quick! I definitely recommend. We moved away now but this is one of the few places i miss. Amazing little joint. The soup dumplings were exactly as they should be. Steamy, soupy, and really flavorful, all wrapped in that delicious little pouch that they make in-house. Service was very efficient and attentive, and the pride in their restaurant showed in both the food and the server. Aside form the dumplings, their mapo tofu was amazing, with just the right numbing Szechuan goodness. Sautéed string beans were perfectly crispy and shiny, but not greasy at all. All good!

Love this spot! The food is deliciously authentic and the service is great. Prices are decent as well given the portions. Went recently with a few friends to get a quick bite and we all loved it. It was my first time trying soup dumplings and they were sooo good. The pan fried pork dumplings were even better! The Don Jing rice bowl was the winner of the night though - it's this combo of beef, onions, cheese and eggs that is to die for; next time I visit I'm def. getting an order of each for myself. We also had a round of beers which was good. All in all no complaints here! I'll def. be back next time I'm around.

Great food and excellent service. We have been here a few times now and the quality of the food has been consistently high; and appreciate the availability of good Szechuan food on the upper west side. Will definitely be going back.

Summary: Xiao Long Bao was disappointing, pork dumplings were decent! Xiao Long Bao: I came in for these and wanted to try them out! If you know anything about me, I am a huge fan of 小籠包! Anyway, these things had very little soup inside them and the skin was way too doughy. I'd give this maybe a 3/5, since I think it wasn't terrible to the point that I would be very sad eating it, but it wasn't good enough for me to want to come back to get it again. Pork Dumplings: These were actually a little better than the xiao long bao, I'd give a 4/5 for these. The filling was a nice rich blend of flavors. Coke: So good.

Came here on Monday for lunch with a friend who works nearby and really enjoyed both the soup dumplings and the pot stickers that we ordered! It's a pretty small place, but we were seated when we arrived, and we tried the pork pot stickers, the pork soup dumplings, and the pork and crab soup dumplings. Everything was super delicious, and I really enjoyed the crab in the pork and crab soup dumplings. Staff was friendly and came by to refill our waters multiple times. They were also happy to let me keep my suitcase in the back of the restaurant so I didn't have to squeeze it in next to our table.
