Osteria La Sangiovesa

"This simple and informal inn is the perfect setting in which to get together with friends, sitting around small tables laden with piadine flatbreads and slices of ham and salami. There’s also a restaurant here – a network of small rooms laid out in the cellars of an old palazzo – where portraits of local historical characters can be made out in the subtle lighting. Here too, the cuisine is inspired by the region and its traditions, with top-quality ingredients (cured hams, meat, oil, wine, vermouth etc) all coming from the restaurant’s own farm and estate." - Michelin Inspector

Great ambience, attentive service, and fantastic local plate selections! I’d recommend a reservation in advance as it gets bust after 8 pm. The lasagna was exactly how my mom made it all her life as she was from Romagna. It was reliving Christmas Day all over again. The gnocchi with duck ragù was to die for! All the vegetable side dishes we tried were superb. The house wines were great, white and Rex. Highly recommended!!!

Stunning restaurant and great choice of meats and vegetable dishes rather than just pasta. The pigeon tunnel below adds some real history. Such great food and service

Historic place! With beautiful sharm interior and Etruskian's grottos. Supreme service, fully booked most of the time. Lot of local dishes. Nothing special but worth to see and touch the history and culture. Tonino Guerra'S paintings and chimneys. Not enough space for romantic diner, but you got a impression!

Visually the most beautiful restaurant in Santarcangelo and well worth a visit, La Sangiovesa is spread over numerous richly-decorated rooms in an old palazzo in the historic centre. Eclectic artwork ranges from paintings by Rimini-born graffiti artist Eron to Baroque pieces from the 17th century. The theatre continues with kitchen stations scattered around the entrance cooking piadina and assembling platters of salumi and antipasti. Much of the menu's produce is grown on the owner’s organic estate, which also produces wine and salumi. Service is friendly and accommodating. Given how large and busy the restaurant is, it can be a touch slow at times, so I recommend settling in for a relaxed, leisurely evening of good food and wine with your friends, family or business associates.

Beautiful building, food is amazing. Worth the visit. Park nearby but take the time to walk there and take in the surroundings.

The taste of the food is perfect with the right ambiance. The wine is good and as well the service is quite nice. It makes me feel like I’m in a medieval time still.

Extremely well cared and cozy place, typically furnished and with a special “soul”. The menu is based on very local ingredients and it’s very qualitative. In add every daily offer presents special dishes very fresh and tasty. Prices are ok! Remember to book and taste their Sangiovese wine.

The food was really really good and the town is an absolute jewel. The tables outside are in a really cute spot of the village. Definitely worth a visit. Personnel was not very friendly
