The 15 Best Spanish Restaurants In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"La Taberna isn’t serving the best Spanish food in Miami, but it’s hard to get mad when the check arrives: $65 for five generous portions of good (but not mind-blowing) tapas—in Coral Gables—is rare enough to celebrate. Order the chistorras al cava. This smoky sausage is cooked in Spanish sparkling wine, arrives sizzling at the table, and turns heads like a Chili's fajita. We also really like their patatas bravas, which, unlike so many others around town, are actually brava with a nice kick. And then there’s the live flamenco every Saturday at 8:30pm. Like most things in Spain (and Miami), it doesn’t always start on time, but you’ll be dancing happily along when you get that check." - virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, ryan pfeffer

We had an incredible experience at La Taberna Giralda. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The mariscos paella was absolutely delicious, flavorful and perfectly cooked. You could tell it was made with care. The live flamenco performance was a standout. The singer’s voice was full of soul, and the dancer brought an incredible energy to the space. It felt like a little corner of Spain right in Coral Gables. What really made the evening special was the hospitality. The owner and servers were extremely friendly and welcoming, making us feel like part of the family. Great food, amazing entertainment, and genuinely kind people. La Taberna Giralda is a must visit. We’ll definitely be back.

My wife and I decided to try this place for lunch and the food was GREAT! Everything was delicious and for the lunch special even better! They have Trova Cubana on Thursdays and Flamenco show on Saturdays. Defenitely coming back for Sunday brunch! Y Olé!!!

Came here for lunch and had an absolutely amazing time Albert the chef was outstanding we had a seafood paella that was to die for. Our server Giselle was so attentive absolutely no complaints. Also we were told Saturday nights they have a live show can’t wait to come back to see it.

A Must-Visit! This place is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped in, we felt a warm and inviting atmosphere, with an authentic charm that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a hidden treasure….even though I believe it’s been open for a while now. The food? Spectacular! But what truly set the night apart was the incredible live music and flamenco show. Truly electrifying, drawing the crowd to get on our feet, dancing along. If you’re looking for an unforgettable night of great food, lively entertainment, and a true taste of Spain, this is certainly a great choice. Highly recommend!

Google
07/13/2023 Small cozy restaurant in the middle of Coral Gable with the heart of Spain in their kitchen and excellent attention from all the staff. Food is OK but special mention to the Adobo. Amazing flavor and test with similarity texture of the original meal from the south of Spain. I'll definitely come back for a second try shortly.

First time we went, it was ok, the gallego octopus was very good, but in general ok. Second time, a complete disaster. We went to watch a soccer game and it got super crowded, even tho we went there 2 hours ahead, the started to get people (not consuming) standing in front of us, so we couldn’t watch the game 🤡. Then we ordered food, paella was a big disappointment, no flavor, no sea food, and it was a big pan with soppy yellow rice. The tapas we ordered never came, and the sangria was done with rotten fruit. We couldn’t stand it anymore so we left. I’ll never go there again, and I recommend you to not go.

Google
Love this place and would have given them five out of five stars. This is my third time here. one of my favorite places for spanish food. I've been to a few Spanish restaurant, and have to say I find the food here the best. The taste and experience are amazing. I highly recommend the octopus with ink rice and the honey drizzled fried eggplant. My only issue would be during flamenco Thursday, they had the speakers to close to where we were sitting. It gave me a headache and made the experience overall not enjoyable; and I love Flamenco lol. My suggestion is to make sure you reserve away from the stage. Make sure you don't get the two tables directly in front. The music and dancing were very entertaining and authentic, no Hialeah mixed in to the show. I hope management figures a way to deal with the loudness. I get that everyone wants to hear, but maybe through satellite speakers in the yard instead of deafening everyone near the stage.

Google
Great lil gem in the heart of Coral Gables! We ordered few tapas and let me tell you every dish was amazing! But the octopus one was by far the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant! Next time we will try the Paella for sure.

Yelp
I was looking for a place to watch La Supercopa de España with my son and as we root for FC Barcelona, not that other team, a little research online pointed us to La Taberna Giralda. This is where the Barca fans in Miami gather for games. I showed up early in order to grab a good spot. The restaurant has both tables and bar seating inside and an outdoor patio. It was game day so all the staff were in their Spain shirts. The ambiance was great. A great mix of single guys, couples and families all rooting for Barca. Staff was super attentive and a great selection of beers from Spain on tap. We ordered a handful of apps but they also had paella which I might order next time because it looked amazing. For appetizers, we ordered the Patatas Bravas, Gambas (shrimp) al Ajillo and Fried Calamari. All were delicious. The Gambas al Ajillo were probably my favorite. But who doesn't love garlic and butter combo?!? And all through out the match I enjoyed one of my favorite Spanish beers, Mahou, which they had on tap. In the end our team won by a decisive score of 5-2. A great time was had. Much singing and celebrating by everyone. Staff was attentive from start to finish. It felt like they really enjoyed having a large crowd. Which is not always the case. So I'm very appreciative of that and will definitely be back for more games.

Yelp
We were very excited to spend the evening at the Taberna when we read about the Cuban trío praying music this evening. However it quickly went sour. In an add they posted they highlited wine tasting of 3 wines and 20% off bottles of wine. Well.. they only offered two tastings and of very poor quality wines. We opted to order a bottle of wine and were denied the discount. Their add was deceiving. We left at that point. We had been regular cusstomers, but no more.

Yelp
Make reservations and know the entertainment schedule!! We stopped in on a whim for a quick date night, and were seated right away. Staff were extremely friendly, the wine was really good, and the paella (excellent!). Downside... 7PM on a Saturday night, we were the only ones there! It was a little awkward, but we still had a great time. Will definitely be back for a show!!

Yelp
A spanish tapas place thats existed 13 yrs in CG per the very courteous elderly owner. There is an outdoor courtyard at the rear which is very nice as well. Food is good and service is attentive, personal with ambiance this tuesday being quiet, private with few people inside prices are very reasonable saturday nights they have the flamenco shows which attract more customer. Paid parking is ample, We had the tortilla, patatas brava, mahi adobo & garbanzo $6 ea with a red sangria $9 though not that great. Try a Cafe Bombom after your finished it has 2 delicious layers bottom condensed milk then espresso on top then spoon mix all together.

Yelp
Delicious and authentic Spanish cuisine. The oxtail was tender and fell off the bone . The flavors were simple and done to perfection. The eggplant chips were unique and a lovely appetizer.

Yelp
Great location with a parking garage across the street or a side parking lot. I came here for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night to enjoy the flamenco dancer and the Spanish food. I made reservations for three. Once you walk in they walk you to your table. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was very delicious and came out very quickly. Loved the live music the singer, dancer and drummer were excellent and sound amazing! Music starts at 8:30pm I believe. Totally worth going we got tapas like the mahi mahi bites (Adobo) the Octopus a la plancha, morcilla sliders, calamari, Tabla mixta, Sangria.

Yelp
Delicious dinner and a show !! The service was great but a bit slow on the delivery of the food. I would not worry though since you are having a great time anyways. The music and dancing is so lively. At one point the whole restaurant got up and started dancing all together with the Flamenco dancer. It was such a fun time. The food was another great experience, super fresh and delicious. Definitely coming back for a celebration or just to have a good time!

Yelp
Tasty, authentic Spanish tapas and entrees in a historic looking restaurant! You have the feeling of being transported to another country being in here. Performance stage has live music like flamenco on weekend nights. Service is the weakest point---spotty and not knowledgeable---but if you can work with it, the food is worth a visit. I went for their brunch, to celebrate my birthday, which is typically only offered on Sundays, but the owner was kind enough to have the chef accommodate a request for brunch items on a Saturday. They have bottomless cava-mosas for $35, which we took very full advantage of as the combination of fresh orange juice with the cava helped our party have a great time. A few of us would ask for refills, and our server would take three or four flutes back to the bar to pour the drinks. It became clear that he was not keeping track of whose glass was whose and simply came back and placed glasses in front of us without checking anything. Luckily we all liked each other enough to be able to be comfortable with sharing glasses. I had the Chistorras a la Casuela and Spanish Tortilla which were both tasty. The Chistorras had well seasoned potato cubes, crisped chorizo and a beautifully runny fried egg. The tortilla was hefty with its layers of scalloped potatoes, held together with fluffed egg. I shared one and a half slices with my friends, then asked for the rest of it to take with me. The server took it and never returned with the takeout container. If you can't tell by now, our server was young, distracted, and quite clueless. There was a soccer game on in the restaurant, and we caught him watching the game a few times while we were trying to get his attention for an order. He told me that the owner wanted to give me a surprise, so he wanted to know when our meal was done. Obviously, he didn't get the memo about what a surprise is. However, like I said, the ambience of the restaurant, and its food are worth a try. The owner, William, is an incredibly sweet gentleman whom you should be able to meet since he is at the restaurant almost every day. Hopefully, you'll have a different service experience. You may have a better chance going with a smaller group rather than the large group I had!

Yelp
Dinner plans tonight? How about Spanish food in Coral Gables? . We enjoyed some delicious plates at @latabernagiralda with a wine tasting! Couldn't get any better! . La Taberna Giralda, located on the "quieter" side of Giralda Ave, has not only delicious food, but live music and flamenco on certain nights. And they will have more special evening plans coming soon! So be sure to follow and stay up to date with shows, music, tasting events and more! . Bacalao al Pil Pil: fresh cod fillet in light olive oil sauce made with garlic and chili served over potatoes Salmon Carpaccio con crujiente de jamón serrano: thinly sliced salmon marinated in a sauce and topped with crispy Serrano ham crumbs Salmón al Limón: Salmón drizzled with a light lemon sauce and sliced boiled potatoes Faena de Croquetas: serrano ham, cod and blue cheese variety of croquetas Calamares Fritos: fried calamari with aioli Adobo: crispy marinated fried mahi mahi with aioli

Yelp
On Saturday night, we visited @latabernagiralda to explore Spanish cuisine. The atmosphere was lovely, and the food was flavorful. They offered a "Tablao" with two shows for a $5 cover charge which I think is a very good deal. However, the appetizer portions were small for the price and the albariños felt way too expensive for the quality. Despite these issues, the exceptional service made a delightful experience overall. We had a great time

Yelp
Went for a brunch and it was nice that set a table for us in the back. The staff was very accommodating and patient. I ordered calamari and of course I forgot to take a photo but it was very good. The sangria was also delish. Everything was good and fresh. We were there for a few hours and they came back often to refill our drinks and such. Definitely come by if you are in the area and like Spanish tapas :)
google avatar

Marlene G.

Yelp
We came on a Saturday at 12:30 PM. There was only one other couple having lunch. We ordered the Boquerones, croquetas, tabla mixta and adobo. The sangria was amazing and I had the Estrella Damn. The servers were extremely nice. The food was off the charts. The Boquerones were a taste explosion! A must come back!!

Ileana-Gustavo K.

Yelp
Agradable lugar atención excelente te hacen sentir muy lindo la música en vivo lo mejorrr. Tapas y Sangria deliciosas, $$$

Yelp
This is a very fun place to enjoy awesome music on Saturday. Service is usually pretty good. Owner is always there and friendly. Very nice people. Food is not so good. Fish was very overcooked and flavor was unpleasant. Wine was not any better. We've been there four times and had a lot of fun. Enjoy the music and stick to tapas. Portions are small. The main meals are pricey and need improvement.

Yelp
So as you can probably tell by my 3 Star rating, I was somewhat underwhelmed by our visit to Taberna Giralda. Everything was honestly just "Meh..." The food was a bit underseasoned, I felt. The portions have gotten A lot smaller (!) And prices have increased a fair amount. Service wasn't great either. I found we had to ask for almost everything- bread, drinks when ours were empty, more water, More bread, a menu, our bill... just no real proactively at all by the bartender (we sat at the bar) who was mostly talking with other staff, dancing or cleaning wine glasses. Anyway, the best part of our visit was the Flamenco show. They charge you $5/person, and it's more than worth it. Only on certain nights but worth inquiring. The guitarist has an amazing voice! The dancer is very good and the percussionist ties it all together well. They were very entertaining. Having said that, there are many better options for good Spanish food in Miami with tastier food, larger portions and better prices. Not sure we will be back.

Yelp
Love the food and the love show really makes the night even better!!! The sangria is amazing!

Yelp
Absolutely love this spot, now my "go to" lunch place when I'm in Coral Gables. First of all, their lunch specials are really good deals, two courses for $13 plus $5 wines. My favorite lunch special is Tuesday, if you're flexible check out the daily menu (I'll try to attach a pic) to choose your favorite day to go. The food is delicious (one of the best Tortilla Espanola anywhere) and service is super friendly. The inside of the restaurant is lovely and intimate very Spanish in feeling, but I have always opted for one of the two or three outdoor tables to enjoy the quiet street scene while dining. I want to try they Tappy Hour with more tapas to select from. Although you have an abundance of quality restaurants to choose from in the The City Beautiful, I highly recommend La Taberna Giralda for quality meals at reasonable prices in a great setting.
google avatar

Carlos G.

Yelp
Excellent lunch specials. Lovely wood flooring. On Saturday nights, they have a live dance show.

Carlos F.

Yelp
A few of the appetizers were good, like the shrimp and garbanzos. But, the paella was below average, had very little seafood; very expensive for basically seasoned rice and a couple shrimp. The lamb chops came to the table 30 minutes before the paella and was over cooked. The lamb was too expensive for what was served. As for the flamenco, the dancer was very good, and the singer had a good voice. The show had a few good traditional dances, but way too much Gypsy Kings and other cheesy songs. I think our waiter was part of the show. He was always dancing and had no idea about the menu. We won't go back. I'm surprised by other reviews that were good; either we went to completely different taberna or the reviewers have little experience with Spanish food and flamenco.
google avatar

Erbira B.

Yelp
I rarely give 5 stars but we really enjoyed our experience. We were a group of 4 for happy hour. We ordered everything on the happy hour menu and everything was delicious! The house wines were also very good. Oscar, our server, was very friendly, personable and efficient. In addition to the happy hour appetizers, we also ordered the eggplant chips and the torrejas for dessert. We were not disappointed! The restaurant has a nice Spanish decor and a cute outdoor courtyard in the back. Will definitely return.

Yelp
What a quaint establishment. You get the feel of being in an authentic Spanish restaurant. Willy is the manager and such a wonderful host. He is so welcoming and accommodating. The food is by far outrageous. We had the assorted croquettes, assorted olives, meat and cheese tray with Serrano ham and manchego cheese. I had the lunch special of chicken soup with a chicken type salad. Wow. From the experience to the food it was a home run. Thanks Willy, keep up the good work.
google avatar

Keysi J.

Yelp
Came here to try a new restaurant and the service wasn't the best they didn't have a lot of wine bottles we asked for on the menu which we thought was weird. The garbanzos were delicious but overall wasn't a great experience so we left

Dayami R.

Yelp
It's not only about the delicious food but the 5 stars service and the great ambience. All about this place is fabulous. Excellent and welcoming restaurant in the heart of Coral Gables to spend time, listening to great live music and even dance. The owners make you feel like part of the family. Recommended 100%.

Yelp
We had a great Saturday night at La Taberna Giralta. We'll definitely do it again, as it was fun! The show was more than worth it and the tapas were delicious. Next time I'll try their paellas. I recommend this place if you are in the mood for a Spanish cuisine and come Saturday if you want to have a great time watching their flamenco show. I love it's a small family owned business and the service that we received was amazing.

Luis G.

Yelp
So I Was Looking For A Privately Own (Mom & Pop) Place to Go to for live music and great food. I think I definitely found it. It was recommended by our friend. Definitely not disappointed! It's a boutique type of restaurant. Definitely giving that Spanish Vibe. They great you as you walk in. Just like if you were part of their family. FYI, definitely make reservations! This place gets packed! The waiter came right away and took care of us. He did make some suggestions and was friendly the whole night through. As you sit there people watching before the show and music begins. You definitely feel the excitement. I'll start by saying that everything we ate was outstanding. It was such a great time that pretty much everyone stayed until closing. We even danced and did a conga line with the entertainment! That was definitely a night to remember. Make sure you check what night the show is.

Mary F.

Yelp
Excellent! 5 stars for the food, service and the live show! Went with a group on a Saturday night for a special occasion. We did have reservations and I would recommend them as the place is small. We had various tapas and paella. All so good! Would definitely come back. Well worth the drive coming from Broward! Loved it! So much fun!

Marta K.

Yelp
The restaurant has great ambiance, everything was beautiful, the food was delicious, the show was great, very entertaining, flamenco dancers were very talented, the guitar player was superb! We had a party with 25 people at the restaurant, everyone had a wonderful time! The service was also very good, I would really recommend this restaurant for a small party or just for having a nice lunch or dinner! Marta K.

Yelp
I went to La taberna Giralda recently, on a Saturday evening and spent a very nice eve. There was a very good Flamenco Show. All the dishes were very good, from the Boquerones en Vinagre, the Fried Calamari, Fried Octopus with Black Rice to the Torta Catalana for dessert. Waiters were very nice and attentive. I recommend it.
google avatar

Annie B.

Yelp
Don't let these reviews fool you. This place is O V E R R A T T E D --- Extremly LOUD Super slow service Cold over priced food Paella is Orange in color - it's rice and saffron no seafood what so ever Xixon n Coral way is the place to visit if you're looking for great over the top service and delicious food.
google avatar

Cristina O.

Yelp
I love this place & now, it's my father's favourite spot where he cones to have a glass of wine, eat a few tapas & wax philosophic of his love for Argentina's Boca Juniors with the waiters. It's always delicious & always a good time! My go to's are the cheese platter, Gambas al Ajillo, Patatas Bravas (some of the best I've ever had), their assorted olives & I absolutely love there rustic, crusty bread. One of my favourite neighborhood spots.
google avatar

Fernando R.

Yelp
The service is slow, portions are small and overpriced. I wouldn't care much if the food was great but honestly It was mediocre at best. My wife and I ordered Paella for 2, it was mostly yellow rice with seafood smell. I got 1 shrimp and a bite size piece of fish. I was livid, for $27 dollars a plate we got scammed. Also order a pitcher of Sangria which was watered down. After we paid and having the waiter see our discontent he had the audacity to say "come back again" which at this point I just decided to keep my mouth shut and just walk out quietly. I gave this place 1 star because I wasn't given the option to go lower, i anyone reading this wants to avoid what we went through then just stay away from this place.
google avatar

Amaray R.

Yelp
Came here looking for live flamenco show, which is supposed to happen on Thursdays but there was none - reason why Im only giving it four stars. Can't believe I worked in the Gables for a couple of years and never visited this place. The food was pretty good overall, tapas were delicious and perfect portion. It felt like true Spanish cuisine when had a taste of the garbanzo frito. My favorite was the Tarta de Santiago (no picture unfortunately) which is a Galician almond cake - a must. Will try to go back and experience the flamenco show, which happens on Saturdays as well. There's a small city parking lot right next to the building and there's also Valet service.

Ozzie G.

Yelp
Got there for early dinner on Saturday 7pm place was empty only one table was taken and the waiter said rest of the tables were reserved, offered sitting at the bar this is incredible they turn people away when place is empty. Take my business somewhere else not going back,I give one star for guy holding the door.
google avatar

Virginia S.

Yelp
This restaurant has an ideal location. Service was very friendly and fast. Main dishes are a bit pricey for the portions. My recommendation is to stick withe the tapas. Everything is delicious!! We had their Blood Sausage, Croquetas, Gambas Al Ajillo (portion on this was small but good flavor), Patatas Bravas,m, Tortilla Española, and ordered their rack of lamb (very small portion for the price).

Yelp
TLDR: delicious, authentic spanish food. ___ I go back and fourth on my favorite cuisine and since I visited Spain, tapas and Spanish food have been near the top of the list for me. I came here with my family and got to enjoy some delicious, authentic food. Pan com tomate - perfect, soft bread with a Subtle yet tasty tomato paste. Croquetas - ham and bacalao- DONT love they were half and half, the ham were really Good. I've never loved the fish ones. Patas - deep fried and so crispy outside. I don't know how they fry them but they were so good! Pulpo a la plancha - super tender And flavorful. I went to have pulpo somewhere else a few days later and it reminded me how good this one was. The service wasn't great unfortunatly. They were empty and still Took forever. The food came out at different times. The server forgot our drinks. Then forgot an order of croquettas. Sigh. Other than that it was a great meal.

Esther I.

Yelp
Went for early lunch, greeted warmly, but it went downhill, asked for menus, did not offer business lunch special menu, we had to ask.... When they brought 2 glasses of sangria delicious btw, the croquetas arrived, they where delicious also, but waiter forgot, napkins, utensils, We where the only table at restaurant.... Service was a disappointment. We wish them luck but will not return.

Claudia P.

Yelp
Great restaurant for Spanish food! Relaxed and fun vibe, wonderful service and the owner, Karen, is amazing. I've hosted events here and Karen went above and beyond to make sure everything went well and it did. She treats everyone like family. The menu has plenty of yummy offerings but I highly recommend the salmon carpaccio. This dish is fire! A must try! I can't say enough about it. Everyone who tries it - loves it! Be sure to catch a flamenco show on the weekend. Run, don't walk, to Taberna Giralda!
google avatar

Frank A.

Yelp
Just discovered this great Spanish Tapas and wine place. The food was EXCELLENT! Service was EXCELLENT! Had the Morcilla (blood sausage), tabla mixta, eggplant chips, and 2 types of red wine. 1st bottle was a light Tempranillo 2nd bottle was a stronger red that was amazing also. Can't remember the names but the staff is very knowledgeable and will suggest accordingly.

Yelp
We had a wonderful Mediterranean lunch today Started with marinated olives, bread with olive oil. The soup of the day was Caldo Gallego soup which was delicious. My husband had the fish which was tasty and I had the pork tenderloin which was very tender. The house red was good. We intend to go back for many more lunches.

Frank B.

Yelp
Good food good prices and excellent service. Has a pleasant outdoor patio and curbside tables.

Yelp
We are lucky to live in south Florida during covid, as there are many great places to eat outside and the weather usually cooperates. The Taberna had a few nice outdoor tables so we gave it a try. So glad! We ordered the paella negra. You have to order that for at least two, and it came in our own little paella pan. The rice was inky black, presumably from the squid, and there were mussels, clams, and shrimp as well. It was a really good paella. They brought some warm bread to start off with. We also ordered the small side salad to split. Wow! It had tomatoes and red onions and olives and I forget what else, but it was quite a nice salad, and stands out because it was a mere $3. They were out of the wine that I chose, but they brought a nice smooth substitute. We were too full for dessert. I definitely want to come back. I looked at some Yelp photos and it looks like back pre-covid they sometimes had a band. Can't wait for better days again.

Yelp
The WORST paella I have ever had. Miniature shrimp, rice had no flavor rice at 27 pp was a total rip off. The waitress said the chef is new but that's no excuse!! We spoke to William the manager he could care less. Show was not very good either. I would never go back to this place and after complaining they didn't even offer us a free dessert, I guess the are hurting. Lost our business. Like other reviews, a box paella would be much tastier. Steer clear from this overpriced horrible place. Deserves zero stars!
google avatar

Yelp
Let me let you in on a little secret: the patatas bravas are actually friendlier than originally anticipated. Inside of a warm and quaint wooden taberna filled with delicious cheeses, cured meats, garbanzos, croquetas and freshly toasted bread-they really got it going on. The tortilla española was a perfect treat as it blended the traditional egg recipe with robust flavors. I had to get some olives served along my garbanzos fritos and anchovies. The Serrano ham spread is lively when paired with manchego and so in that direction we headed wholeheartedly. The service could've been a notch friendlier and more attentive. I totally dug their wine list and found some nice pairings for the salty and creamy dishes I ordered. Even the ensalada rusa was worth a shot because it comes beautifully prepared and offers a cold contrast to most of their warm dishes.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in the Gables. Love the mom and pop atmosphere and the yummy tapas. They have a great and affordable lunch menu and some awesome happy hour specials. I love hosting my bday there and have done so many years. I also host my annual Christmas party here. The food and wine are great! The service used to be a little wobbly but new staff is much better. Glad this little spot is still open and serving great Spanish food with an amazing flamenco show Thursdays and Saturdays.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food! The tapas was on point and served quickly and the entrees were superb. Service was slow, but I can't fault them. We surprised them with a party of 15 and the accommodated us in a courtyard in the back. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was courteous and friendly.

Yelp
We were so excited to go to this place after watching "Check Please" so we decided to go for a Sunday brunch. It says it opens at 11 in Google but it looks like it opens at 12pm. We got there at 12pm and we were basically ignored for about 10-15 minutes. The waiters were talking and getting ready. It did not look that they were ready so we decided to walk around and find somewhere else to have brunch. Since we parked across the restaurant, on our way back to the car around 2pm, the place was still empty. Maybe Sunday is not their day :(.

Yelp
A gem that I wish I found sooner! We stumbled upon La Taberna after attending the Coral Gables Art Festival. It was empty but we love authentic Spanish cuisine so decided to give it a try. I wish I found this lovely spot earlier in my life! We visited Spain last year so when my husband found out that they had the Granada Alhambra beer on tap he was already sold on this place. I asked if they had "Tinto de Verano" to which they did and it was identical to what I drank in Spain. You must try their Tinto as it is purely the best in Miami. Our waiter was very attentive (I wish I could remember his name) and recommended many tapas. We ordered the ham croquettas, mixed serrano ham, salami, and machego cheese platter. We were going to order the Grilled Foie when our waiter recommended an item off the menu. It was seared Oxtail with whipped cheese and marmalade. If you want to taste heaven, order this. It was melt in your mouth delicious. My husband and I were fighting for every bite. We also ordered the fried anchovies but ask for a side of lemon to pour the juice over them. We came to La Taberna with our two little ones (6 and 3 yrs). They are very picky eaters and didn't want to try any of the tapas (more food for mom & dad!). Our lovely waiter could see this and kept bringing warm bread for our boys to eat. They were quite satisfied with their orange juice and bread. I wish we would of seen the courtyard sooner as we would of sat outside instead. But we will make a date night of La Taberna and come during one of their performances. I have no bad words on this gem. It has very authentic Spanish tapas and is now my favorite restaurant!

Yelp
I appreciate that they're open and I'm sure it's not easy keeping a restaurant going 7 days a week. I don't mind spending the money when the food is fresh and good. I do mind xtra salty food and over use of oil. Oh well que sera sera!
