"Born and raised in Marseille, Xavier Mathieu is a true-blue Provençal lad. He was introduced to the world of gourmet cuisine by a family friend, master chef, Roger Vergé and finished his apprenticeship with Joël Robuchon in Paris before returning to this splendid family home in the heart of the sweet-scented scrubland of Luberon. Xavier, who sports a distinctive white shock of hair, breathes new life into Provençal traditions and each dish offers a new twist on his roots. Pistou, beans, garlic and basil soup; leg of lamb baked in hot Garrigue sand: his recipes are surprising, highly personal, and influenced both by his region and travels to distant lands (jambalaya of crayfish tails, sweetcorn and potatoes). To be sampled in the swish exclusive setting of a refurbished drystone farmhouse whose foundations date back to the Order of the Knights Templar of Malta." - Michelin Inspector

An incredible experience for our party of 12. Each of the 8 courses served over 3 hours were fantastic. Our server was attentive and friendly while being very busy and the location exquisite.

Everything was so good! I highly recommend the soup (one of their specialities) and that fish dish (second photo) that was amazing!

Mixed feelings about our experience at this fancy establishment. The woman in charge of service was arrogant and condescending and did little to put us or her staff at ease. Though twice informed about allergies we were told to eat around it. The courses seemed utterly contrived with no cohesion. Finally, we were charged for coffee after spending 800 euros for 4 people.

The restaurant is beautifully situated in the Luberon valley. I got the Provencal menu and enjoyed every course except for the lamb. It tasted like - well - nothing. It literally had no scent or taste. The thyme sauce helped. The service was professional, but it took until the end of the meal for the staff to become more friendly and personable. Overall, we had a lovely evening.

Our hotel’s concierge recommended this gastronomic restaurant and we were extremely pleased by our experience. We went for the menu and were delighted and surprised. So many great new things to try. Note: this is a gastronomic restaurant so the point is to go and try new things in new ways. If that doesn’t excite you, there’s also a more “brasserie” type restaurant just right below — a bit more accessible and less pricey. The view was lovely (lovely views not in short supply in Provence) but what stood out for us was the service — so much staff, so skilled and experienced, everyone taking pride in their work but not stuffy at all. I would absolutely return and I’d absolutely recommend to a friend.

The menu and the courses were extremely unique and technically complex. The tastes were different than we used to. The dessert was excellent!
