Sat at La Table du Marché for lunch. First came the comte gougères (cheese puffs), which were excellent. Then came the roasted eggplant with pequilos tomato marmalade, chickpeas, drop pepper, and coconut curry ice cream. This was a cold dish that tasted bright but did not stir. The curry ice cream ended up being a nice touch. The blanquette de veau had carrots, bacon, mushroom, and a scattering of scallion slices. The stew came with a side of scented basmati rice. So creamy, so smooth, an immaculate blanquette de veau that I crave every so often and rarely see on any menus. The poached apricot with fleurette escoffier curry, almond milk ice cream, rose water mousse, sesame seed crisps, and flower petals - pretty, not too sweet, and very good. Overall, elegant portion sizes and execution - signs of confidence and skill. 4.5 rounded up.
