La Tajada

"If you were a fan of the erstwhile Desencaja Bistro you’re in luck as its entire team has made the switch to this simple, industrial-style yet intimate restaurant. The cooking here is centred around a traditionally based à la carte (including an array of savoury rice dishes) which has been brought pleasantly up to date and is complemented by several set menus: a value-for-money daily option (El Rayo Verde) available lunchtime Monday to Friday, and a second more extensive menu entitled Viaje a la Luna (Journey to the Moon). We were particularly attracted to the chocolate dessert (six different options with cacao as the common denominator)!" - Michelin Inspector

I went to La Tajada and was very satisfied with the entire experience. My first restaurant in Madrid so I had to make it a Michelin. The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Alitas de Pollo de Corral Deshuesadas con Salsa de Chiles Dulces (boneless free-range chicken wings with sweet chili sauce), the Torrezno de Soria con Patatas Revolconas (crispy pork belly with mashed paprika potatoes), and the Croquetas. While everything hit the spot, the standout dish—by a landslide—was the chicken. It was tender, flavorful, and the sauce was out of this world. Honestly, ordering it isn’t just a recommendation—it’s a requirement. If you go to La Tajada and don’t get the chicken, you’re doing it wrong. To wrap things up, I had the Flan de Huevo Casero for dessert and let me just say—it was elite. I’m a big flan fan, and this was hands-down one of the best I’ve had. Creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced. A sweet ending to a stellar meal.

We loved everything we ordered. The boneless chicken, croquetas and cheesecake were incredible. The rice is also delicious. Service was also very good with no problems. All in all, some of the best food I’ve tried in Madrid.

I went there Sunday night but it was closed so I decided to come back on next day (Monday) as I want to have dinner in Michelin Restaurant. This place has nice decoration, friendly service. I order Russian salad (good), Torrezno de Soria Con Patata Revolcona (Crispy Roast Pork with mashed potato)- quite salty, Chicken with Chilly - quite saltly and Rice with mushroom + vegetable (good)

the folks from Desencaja have opened a more informal bar just around the corner. Nice industrial look. The menu has quite a few nice things. The artichokes carbonara style are really good. They have some rice dishes. The things we tried were really tasty. Totally recommended.

I found it from a newspaper recomendation. And it is a really nice restaurant. With black iron material in the walls and columns in very a modern design. The experience is really nice. The manager was kindly attending the customers an recomending dishes. The rice is outstanding. After some time out of Spain, I missed a proper dry rice (paella for foreigners) and that Boletus rice was magic. Its worth visiting.

Love the grilled artichokes and ham here and their artichoke and ham paella was good too.
