The Best Breakfasts in Dallas

"This place does one thing and does it well: Breakfast burritos. (Well, to be accurate, it also has some good tamales.) But if an egg wrapped up tight in a burrito is what you want, this is where to go. The front has an old-school drive-in vibe, with covered parking where it’s mercifully easy to grab a spot. The inside is no-frills, just excellent burritos." - Courtney E. Smith

The 12 Best Mexican Restaurants In Dallas 2024

"La Victoria in East Dallas opens up at 7am, which is great if you typically wake up at an hour most people reserve for getting to the airport. Drag a friend who needs a reason to get up early and order a classic breakfast burrito or something funkier, like the crunchy Dom’s Delight with bacon, eggs, guac, onion, and peanuts. Whichever you choose, grab a pork tamale for a snack later on. And if you’re not the type to get up before sunrise, don’t sweat—you can pop by for lunch before they close at 2pm." - lee escobedo, gabe bergado, emily smith

Google
We got The Lance and bacon, egg, and cheese tacos at La Victoria. Overall, the food was excellent- particularly The Lance. Our service was friendly. My main con was that it took a while to get our food. While I should have called ahead to order (no online orders), a 25-30 min wait ended up taking around 40 minutes. The food was overall great but not worth that long of a wait. Overall, I would recommend this place if you time it correctly with a call ahead order.

Google
Seriously amazing breakfast burritos! La Victoria knows how to start the day right. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were spot on, and the burrito was perfectly constructed. Best breakfast burrito I've had in a long time! Highly recommend.

Google
10/10 b-fast burritos. Got chorizo, egg, and potato burrito and bacon egg and cheese burrito. Amazing! Lucy and Vicky were fantastic and had great recommendations. Next time coming back for the Zack attack, they said that put them on the map, and the Don, which is Vicky’s and one of her grandfathers favorite.

Google
I’ve been a loyal customer here for a while and I’ll be the first to say the food is genuinely great. I’ve ordered from here many times. But unfortunately, the service and overall speed have gone completely downhill. What used to be a reliable go-to spot has now become a frustrating experience that leaves a bad taste in your mouth no matter how good the food is. Most recently, I waited over an hour. Yes, a full hour. For a single breakfast burrito. That’s just bacon, egg, and sausage. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated. There’s absolutely no reason something that simple should take that long, especially when it wasn’t even that busy. It’s gotten to a point where the kitchen seems overwhelmed even during normal hours and the staff don’t seem to be in any kind of rush to fix it. To make matters worse, they’re still cash only which is wild in 2025. So if you show up expecting to pay with your card or Apple Pay like literally 99 percent of places, you’re out of luck. There’s no signage or warning upfront either so it ends up being a massive inconvenience. It’s frustrating to see a spot with good food fall off so hard in terms of service and efficiency. I really hope they figure it out but for now I wouldn’t recommend coming unless you’ve got time to kill and cash in hand.

Google
I got the Zack Attack breakfast burrito with cheese and it was very good. The burrito itself didn't look very big (compared to regular chain burritos), but that was only because it was so compact (and had good weight to it). The food itself was very flavorful. They have two salsas, mild and hot, the mild didn't taste spicy, while the hot was what most people consider standard.

Google
Best breakfast burritos in the city so far hands down with fresh ingredients definitely 10/10 recommended you will get your money's worth

Google
Similar to the other review with a 40 minute wait. I had to wait 60 minutes for breakfast burritos, that is not right! On the upside, the burrito was very good, but nothing’s worth an hour wait. Placed order Saturday at 11:30 AM

Google
La Vic is a Dallas treasure. These are the best and most authentic mexican burritos I have ever had in my dozens of visits to Texas. This place is not Tex Mex, so all the queso and brisket lovers be warned. I’m a lifelong Southern Californian born and raised, so my tastes are admittedly skewed more Mex and less Tex, although I like tex-mex fine enough. But these burritos are the real deal!

Yelp
Great breakfast burritos! More of a hole in the walk that does to-go orders but definitely worth the wait. We didn't know how popular they are on weekends and went in on a Saturday at 12pm when they already had a 30min wait. Definitely call ahead and bring cash, they have a $5 surcharge on credit card payments. The Zach and Lance are our personal favorite tacos, and each taco is HEFTY. Mild and spicy sauces on the side are a must. We'll be back next weekend for sure!

Yelp
Amazing Mexican brunch spot located in the Old East part of Dallas. From the outside, it looks a little like a drive in and once you go in, you can place your order for to go as they don't necessarily have a dine in option. Regardless, this doesn't take away from how great the ambiance and food here is. From the second you step inside, you get a feel you're going to get true authentic Mexican food with fresh ingredients! The staff inside is always friendly and quick with getting you your food. They're definitely known for some of their breakfast burritos, but you can't go wrong as everything on their menu is great and worth a try. Overall, definitely recommend, especially if you live nearby!

Yelp
Delicious!! Called and ordered ahead after seeing some of the other reviews. Was ready in 15min. Cute little shop. Got a Zach attack which was soo good and filling. Saved the other half tomorrow. Will absolutely be coming back. I will be asking for an extra salsa next time though cause one was not enough

Yelp
Had to come try La Victoria after some co-workers said it had some of the best Breakfast burritos! I had always passed by the location but never knew they were even open. Well let me start off by saying that my friends were not wrong. I got the "Lance" Sausage,Bacon,Egg,Cheese and Salsa. It was delicious! The size of the burrito for the price is definitely worth it. Next time all go ahead place my order ahead of time, it can get pretty busy. Everyone there was very helpful and the place was nice and clean.

Yelp
Best breakfast burritos I've ever had. It is the true definition of a hole in the wall spot in the best way possible.
google avatar

Nicolas L.

Yelp
I recently visited La Victoria for breakfast and had the Drew Breakfast Burrito. The crisp toasted tortilla was filled with fluffy eggs, soft savory potatoes, gooey cheese, and soft sausage. The side of flavorful salsa paired nicely. Keep in mind the restaurant is to go only and has no seating (we didn't realize this and ate in the car). It can take a while to get your food as well even when it doesn't seem very busy. It appeared many locals called ahead to put in their orders.

Yelp
This place needs to be recognized! Amazing prices, amazing portions, amazing service, and amazing food. 5/5 across the board. Ordered a bean and cheese burrito from here (Christian is the name), with my tip it came out to $4. The service was fast, the women were kind, and the burrito was amazing. This isn't somewhere you can go inside and eat but the space is spacious enough for a group of people to go in and order. It was incredibly clean. The tortilla was thin, soft, and crispy and the beans and cheese were the perfect texture. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
I would recommend calling and putting the order in versus standing in line or waiting in your car. It takes long to get your food. But I will continue to get breakfast tacos from this place over and over again. The food is really good and my kids like the salsa. It's very cute inside and very clean and put together.

Yelp
The BEST breakfast burritos and home-style Mexican dishes made and served with an abundance of love and kindness!

El Mero Jefe G.

Yelp
Unfortunately never tried the food and most likely won't. If you post all of over social media and your posted sign location that you are open...then you should be open for service. I made the drive to your location this morning as I had to be downtown for a meeting. Location hours everywhere said open at 7am. This picture was taken at 7:50am. To the staff working knowing that a few customers are outside..maybe acknowledge them and let them know what's up...not even the decency to do that. Do better.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has hands down the best breakfast burritos in the area for the best price. They're cash only and the parking lot is tiny. There're a couple of small tables inside but it's more of a grab and go type place. Friendly service. They even let us buy a pack of their tortilla (they don't make them in house but have a very good source!) to take home with us!
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
Definitely a hidden gem in Dallas. They are a small taqueria but they make some great breakfast burritos. The service is always great but they can get very busy in the morning, but they are definitely worth the wait.
google avatar

Luka D.

Yelp
Everywhere it says it opens at 7, I called multiple times between 7-7:30 but no answer. Showed up at the location and doors are locked.
google avatar

Aryelle S.

Yelp
They messed up my order and the burrito took about 30mins to be made. Definitely recommend ordering ahead. Will update my review when I go back a second time.

Zachary L.

Yelp
Do you find yourself thinking "mhmm I need something thick and delicious in my life?" Well look no further, the burritos at La Victoria will leave you more satisfied than a priest at a daycare. I personally love their Zack attacks

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
My food was good and hot! And great customer service! So close to my office. I'll definitely be returning.
google avatar

Dustin U.

Yelp
Best breakfast burrito I've ever had. This place is amazing. Call in advance to place your order, because everything is made fresh and takes a little while.
google avatar

Brandi A.

Yelp
Everyday is better when it begins with Burritos! The food put out by this tiny Togo spot can change your whole day for the better. The salsa choices are top notch. The picadillo meat, rice, and beans are heavenly! The service is quick and the kitchen turns around your order in no time flat. Check out this hidden gem in the east dallas area
google avatar

Josh C.

Yelp
La Victoria makes the best burritos in town, no questions asked. The cherry on top is that the prices are affordable. I got the Don's Delight, and it came with a very generous amount of guacamole. I ordered in person, and the wait was around 15-20 minutes. Definitely agree with other posts that the best move is to call in advance while you're driving to La Victoria so that it's ready when you get there.
google avatar

Paula C.

Yelp
I come here for the breakfast burritos. A lot. Like all of them. And I suggest you do too.
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
I have been coming here since 2014 when I lived down the street. Vicky and her family make the best breakfast burritos, period
google avatar

Eva H.

Yelp
Family owned local business that puts out the BEST breakfast burritos!! Tastes like it was made in someone's kitchen at home. Have picked up breakfast from here many times, one of our faves!! Picadillo, chorizo and egg, and all other menu items are so worth it!! Place does not look like much outside, but the quality of food and service make up for it for sure.

Jessu P.

Yelp
Really BAD food, NO flavor at all, how can you missed up Tex-Mex Food??? hard to do it but you achieved it!! AND your political views on your walls didn't help the experience....made it worse...
google avatar

Lashondra P.

Yelp
Service is good and friendly. This is a takeout only location. Best burrito ever! Highly recommended and get the hot sauce!
google avatar

Case W.

Yelp
Id been wanting to check this place out for a while because of all the good reviews. I had a breakfast burrito and a couple tacos and was completely satisfied. The tacos were very flavorful and the tortilla was filled to the brim. The cheese in my burrito wasn't evenly distributed but it was still tasty. There is no indoor dining but you're in Dallas where the weather is incredible so grab and go to one of the millions of parks in the city.
google avatar

Shannon W.

Yelp
Zack attack for the win!! Actually everything here rocks. This place is so good. Pro tips: call ahead to order, closed on Sundays and have some cash on ya for cryin out loud
google avatar

Sae P.

Yelp
This place provides the worst customer service to new customers. I live in the area so I wanted to try out this place but the few times I had stopped by, they were inexplicably closed. Finally, after driving by and noticing they were open, I decided to stop in. First impression, the lady behind the counter who seems to be the head cashier is not welcoming, at least to unfamiliar faces or new customers. When I walked in, it wasn't busy as she was taking the order of the person ahead of me and there was no one standing around waiting and there were also only two cars in the parking lot. Once it was my turn and as she was about to take my order, the phone suddenly rang and she abruptly took the phone order before helping me, which is a bit strange but whatever. My frustration lies more with the fact that I waited 40 minutes for my carry-out order without any explanation or apology. While patiently waiting inside the restaurant, I observed how super friendly she was to their repeat customers. After noticing that customers who had placed their orders after me were receiving their orders, I went up to the counter to check in. The same lady said they were still working it. I'm confused what was taking so long, this restaurant specializes in breakfast burritos and I only purchased 1 Drew, 1 Zack Attack, & 1 Lance..nothing too complicated and I'm sure other customers had ordered the same thing so why did my order take so long?! After finally receiving my order at 11:36am, the lady didn't even have the morale to apologize or thank me for my time and for that, I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant. If you're looking for breakfast burritos or anything related to home cooked Mexican food, I would recommend checking out Mami Coco down the street.
google avatar

Bob H.

Yelp
The best burritos! Great guac! Salsa is killer! The service is straightforward, very sweet and they don't pay tribute to the banks!!! Cash is king!
google avatar

Ken L.

Yelp
Food is good and fast ! Come with cash if you don't mind paying for the cc charge. It's only to go that why only gave this place 4 stars

Nick M.

Yelp
From Ohio first time to Dallas and the food was amazing. Highly recommend. Got the zack attack mmmmmm

Carisa T.

Yelp
Very big and delicious burrito omg we will be back when we in Dallas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brennan B.

Yelp
Love the food, update your hours...I have come multiple times & they are closed, called ahead even and walked over, nothing, the workers ignore you & wont help you or take your order. If you're closed just say that you are closed.
google avatar

Enoch P.

Yelp
Great breakfast burritos. Unlike other breakfast burritos I've had these are more tall and skinny, closer to a large taco than a small burrito. They are made with fresh tortillas. Call ahead because they can take a little while to make as they are made fresh. Seating inside to wait but no tables to eat at.
google avatar

Tobie C.

Yelp
Great breakfast burritos. Can only do takeout but still worth it. Tasty and not too massive. Great price and great choices! Didn't wait long at all. Definitely worth a try. We found a park bench not far away and enjoyed.
google avatar

Abigale C.

Yelp

Yelp
This place certified slaps. The breakfast burritos are unreal. BIG FAN. Was also super fast on a weekday morning. No place to sit inside but it's okay because I absolutely scarfed down my burrito in my car
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place!!! Best breakfast burritos!!! The girl at the front is so welcoming too.

Audrey K.

Yelp
This place has amazing burritos for such a great price. They make them fresh after you order them and they're the perfect breakfast/lunch/snack item. The place is clean and has seating for you to wait. It's to-go only and bring cash because there's a price increase to pay with card. I highly recommend and will definitely be back.
google avatar

Edmundo R.

Yelp
Delicious Breakfast - Cash Only Had a delicious 10" grilled flour tortilla breakfast burrito here. The salsa was delicious. Unfortunately they don't take cards so my orders will be limited here. I would love to order several burritos for the office group but the inability to pay with a credit card pushes me elsewhere. I will still come here every now and then if I have cash in my pocket though.
google avatar

Tim F.

Yelp
Great breakfast tacos, quick service and easy parking. I'll definitely be back, just grab and go

Jeffery P.

Yelp
Best burritos in town, for both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast torta is FIRE!! Add this to your bucket list as it does not disappoint...
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
We decided to try La Victoria's breakfast burritos. Don't be put off by the neighboring construction or the fact that the eatery only offers takeout. This is without a doubt one of Dallas' best breakfast burritos. The burrito was delicious and flavorful without being oily. We selected the Zack Attack, which includes bacon, eggs, jalapenos, beans, and potatoes. I'm looking forward to returning to this location.
google avatar

G R.

Yelp
I love this place! The food is amazing and these ladies have a blessing on them like no one's business! I will forever come back to La Victoria!! -Gabe: 2 x Lance with extra salsas on the side porfa!

Alma S.

Yelp
Food is amazing! The breakfast burritos are the best. The salsa is perfect. The service is top tier, will definitely recommend to my friends and family. Thank you!!

Celeste Kenyon ..

Yelp
My first time getting food to go here and it was amazing !! The rice and beans had so much flavor and packaged very neatly :) Food was still hot driving there and back to my job, would definitely recommend the salsas too ! I got a chicken quesadilla and it comes w rice and beans. Would for sure recommend this spot for anyone who loves mexican food ! Thank you for the awesome food and making my work shift happier lol 10/10 !!

Jose M.

Yelp
Every burrito I've tried has been so delicious and the ladies running the restaurant are always nice and helpful. Totally recommend!
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
This is a small, family-owned restaurant that is a GREAT place for breakfast and lunch. I can say with all seriousness that this place serves some of the best Mexican food I have ever had and has the most friendly service of any restaurant I have been to. If anyone is going for the first time, there are two things you should know. First, as of this post, this is a To-Go establishment only. Plan in advance to carry-out and eat somewhere else. Second, they have to charge more if you pay with a card. Their prices are very good either way you pay. Back to the food. My wife had the enchiladas and they were superb. I had a chicken torta and I have to say the same. I look forward to trying everything they serve.
google avatar

Ivette M.

Yelp
If I could give you NO stars I would. I work as a nurse and my schedule is 8-8pm SO because yelp say they are open at 7am I have made my way to this place SEVERAL times and they are NEVER open at 7am. So, do everyone a favor and change the hours of operation. SMH.
