Such a gem across from Pioneer Park! No indoor seating, there is son some tables outside and the park averts the street. The food is cooked right in front of you. Everything is made fresh to order, super quick, and absolutely delicious. Love the daily specials—this spot is a must-try for amazing Thai food!

Google
Great little Thai spot for some solid Pad Thai. There aren’t many places in Utah that have a standard Pad Thai that could beat this one. (Most aren’t the best, but this one’s good!) Will be back for more Pad Thai. Great portions, great flavor and consistency, and exactly what you’d expect for service and seating. Small place with only a few spots in side and 4 tables outside. It is usually busy here too but they’re fast to get your food out.

Google
I love hole-in-the-wall places and this is definitely one. Very basic and only a couple spots to sit if you’re eating there. They are very nice but the language barrier do t allow for any questions. I ordered the Yellow Curry with dumplings. It was good, but standard fair. Great place to grab lunch in a hurry. If you order to go, careful as the liquid spills out.

Google
Food was good, could’ve used more chicken but the portions overall are worthy of the price. Not insanely expensive, Laan Na Thai is worth trying out!

Allen Vicencio

Google
The yellow curry and hung lay pork was fine. Pad see ew seemed a bit bland in taste, but was generally ok Chicken satay size was big, but the chicken was dry. The peanut sauce was good. The mango sticky rice had good flavor, but the rice was tough. They take phone orders, there's no sitting inside, though there are tables outside. The price was pretty cheap, so this place is reasonable if you want cheap Thai food that is ok.

Google
No frills, family run, walk in Thai place. We got the chicken pad Thai and the chicken pineapple fried rice and they were delicious! They made our food to order so it was piping hot and the flavor was perfect. The fried rice is a curry base so be prepared for that and the pad Thai is a sweeter sauce which I prefer. They have a small bar inside and a couple tables outside and the park is across the street.

Google
Very authentic and delicious Thai food. I enjoyed it so much, on my last visit, I ate there twice in less than 24 hours! If you like it Thai hot, they can deliver. My go-to spot when in downtown SLC.

Google
My new favorite Thai place in down! Such a cute little place tucked away near pioneer park. It gives very east coast city/ NYC vibe. You order right where they are cooking and you can literally watch them put the food from the pan into the to go container! So hot, so fresh, so yummy. The workers here are also WORRRKKKING! each time I’ve come by they are so busy. They only have like 3 people working and they still get the food out so fast. The outside dining atmosphere is also super cute. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great authentic food and large portions from this tiny hole in the wall. Daily specials with very affordable pricing. They have a couple of outdoor tables but no indoor dining.

Yelp
We walked over from the Hampton inn and picked up take out. Love the convenience and location of this place. There are a few tables to sit outside, but for the most part this is a take out joint. It's family run and they are pumping out the food. Loved the pork drunken noodles and it had great flavor. The basil chicken was ok so I wouldn't necessarily get that again. All the veggies are very fresh but they do put in a lot of green and red peppers (depending on your taste you may or may not like that). Anyway, we totally forgot to ask for spicy sauce and that would have made everything taste even better. The to go containers are those cheap styrofoam ones that will leak and that's the only real major criticism that I have. I know it's an extra expense for the business, but they should do it. Anyway, great fresh food, inexpensive, large portions, and would recommend it.

Yelp
I was excited to try a hole in the wall Thai restaurant, but sadly was a bit disappointed. We tried to do a carry-out order over the phone for pick up, but there was a bit of a language barrier so we ended up getting the wrong order. I would recommend going in to order if possible! The drunken noodles were supposed to be level 3/5 spicy and had no spice at all. I also didn't like the soft tofu and veggie mix they had. My friend unfortunately got a pad Thai with no egg, meat, or veggies, due to a misunderstanding and a dish that ended up spilling out of the bag. Overall, this place is probably worth another shot, but we'll probably just order in person and wait! There's very limited seating inside and out.

Yelp
Been coming here pretty consistently over the years. It's my gold star standard for Thai. Will always recommend.

Yelp
This is a Mom&Pop shop at its best. The food is very, very tasty. I got the curry dumplings - oh my God, the curry sauce was so extremely good, sweet and savory. I also ordered the Pad See Ew with shrimp - a generous portion with lots of shrimp! The mango sticky rice was the culmination of a great meal. There are some tables outside and a counter inside but mostly it's take out. I love this restaurant and will be back when in SLC.

Yelp
Tiny but mighty, I have every reason to believe I've uncovered a local gem. My good friend took me here and after driving past it for years with curiosity, I was met with an authentic Thai experience, insanely low prices, and fresh food. They have special combos every day of the week, and being there on a Friday, I ordered the yellow curry combo with white rice - for a whopping $5.99. I'm not kidding!! An entire Thai plate for $5.99?! I too, was too stunned to speak. The curry was exactly what I hope for from a yellow curry, traditionally flavored, spiced with intention, and steaming hot. This family owned and operated business offers dishes that speak for themselves, but it isn't somewhere you'll likely be dining in. There are about 4 stools total inside, so unless you're visiting in the warmer months and wish to sit outside, it's bread and butter is tasty takeout. We were one of the lucky ones who snagged two barstools on a frigid winter's night. Will definitely be returning since I'm still in shock over how affordable and delicious this place is.

Yelp
I make the drive up from Provo for this restaurant because it is FLAVORFUL, AUTHENTIC, AFFORDABLE, and everything you could ever hope for eating Thai food. The couple that runs the kitchen is so nice and they've done an excellent job maintaining the quality of this place over the years. Our fav dishes were the pad kee mao (the basil flavor is to die for), the drunken noodles, and the red curry. We like the kao soi but found it sweeter than we liked. We were bummed because they were out of the beef waterfall salad that we wanted to try!! But that's just a good excuse to return soon. Inside seating is SLIM so don't plan on dining in (unless it's a good weather day - there is patio seating.) DONT SLEEP ON LAAN NA THAI

Yelp
WOW! I am a thai food enthusiast and Laan Na surpassed all my expectations! I got the Pad Se Ew and a side of chicken satay. The chicken satay was some of the juiciest chicken I have ever had! The restaurant itself is very small, only a few stools and a small standing area. While I was waiting for my food, I spotted an article written on the restaurant. Yupin and Wichai Charoen (the owners of Laan Na) are the pinnacle of a small business success story. Originally from Thailand, they had many obstacles while opening this restaurant, but against all odds they have prevailed! Laan Na is now a heart beat of the Salt Lake City community with a very loyal customer base. Will definitely come back here the next time I'm in Salt Lake City!

Yelp
Random impulse try but for being such a small restaurant, the food packs a punch. For 12$ or so I got a take away combo with rice, a curry, and a chicken dish. And it was as good as any sit down Thai restaurant Ive been to recently. Huge fan. I could see myself running here anytime I have a Thai food craving. Food only took 5 min max to come out after ordering. Friendly staff. Only a few places to sit outside so most people takeaway which is just fine by me. Delicious

Yelp
Was here for a conference at the downtown convention center and stopped by this hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant for lunch. Fantastic portions, excellent quality, and well-worth the price! Highly recommend if you're in the area.
google avatar

Natty T.

Yelp
Okay wow. If you're about authentic Thai food, this is your spot. Only served in a styrofoam box, which I think is perfect. Right across the park so grab your food and one of their delicious drinks (I love the coconut and the mango one), walk across the park and enjoy. It's honestly one of the best gems I've found in SLC.
google avatar

Noah K.

Yelp
Solid spot. The portions are healthy and the prices are pre-pandemic. Very humble shop, only a few window seats inside and a few outside tables, but for no lack of customers. This is a hole in the wall that deserves proper recognition. If you're looking for authentic thai food from a thai owned establishment, this is your place!
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
I always get their pad Thai and mango sticky rice. They always have the best Thai food and get it out within 20 minutes. They use a real wok which is why there's a bit of a wait. It can get hot in there so I usually wait outside when it's the summer. Amazing and authentic thai food
google avatar

Melanie V.

Yelp
We ordered takeaway from this restaurant. They have huge portions compared to the Thai restaurants back home. We ordered the pineapple curry and pad see ew. Everything tasted fresh and the prices were reasonable.
google avatar

Nina W.

Yelp
We decided to try this mom and pop Thai place right when we arrived to SLC. It's really tiny inside. The kitchen is right behind the register. We chose to get take out. We got their pad see ew and a 2 item combo (kao soi and the kee mao). The total was a little over $21. Taste: Amazing!! Wow it has good flavor and the food is not overly salty. I've tried so many Thai places in Los Angeles and this one is one of my tops Thai places (and it's not even in LA). Value: Excellent. Pricing is excellent. Highly recommend you try them if you can :)
google avatar

Yelp
This is the best Thai food I've found in Salt Lake City. Small quaint hole-in-the-wall but well worth it and the food rocks!

Yelp
The Food was great and it is an amazing cheap eat in Salt Lake. I would definitely be back. The man and woman working there were so cute and kind and they whipped up the food quickly. It is a little spot but there is plenty of seating outside and I will definitely be back.

C S.

Yelp
Small out of the way place where you can watch (and smell the delights) as they freshly prepare your meal. Combos were more than ample, and price was super cheap. Fast and fresh. Worth it. I'm

Yelp
Definitely one of if not the best spot for basic Thai food in SLC. This small mom and pop shop cranks out Pad See Ew and Pad Thai orders so consistently and packed with flavor in the multiple times I've eaten here. Orders usually take within 5-10 minutes and you can even call it in ahead of time. I usually just eat it outside in front of the shop and enjoy the nice weather when it's not winter. Would definitely recommend if you're a Pad See Ew or Pad Thai person.

Yelp
About 6 months ago, I stopped in, excited to try out the food. Then soon left very sad and very hungry. Owner and cashier seemed peeved I asked questions about peanut and nuts in general. They told me to read the menu which I was, but I needed exact ingredients as my kids have life threatening allergies. They kept telling me to read over and over. Given that they were annoyed with me asking questions, making annoyed facials and sighing, I left as they continued to eye roll at me. Service was terrible and as a restaurant you should be prepared to share full Ingredients. Shame on this place never did get to try.
google avatar

Deanne B.

Yelp
The owners here are the kindest people! We love ordering from them and the food is always affordable and so tasty! I do wish they didn't put their food in tinfoil but I move it to a plate once I'm home. We will always support this beautiful place!

Yelp
This is the best Thai food in Utah. It is truly a hole in the wall and mom-and-pop run. I've had their daily specials, curry dumplings, drunken noodles, pad siew, pad Thai, and more. Everything they make is so delicious and authentic. There is minimal indoor seating, some outdoor seating and is very take-out oriented. There might not be a ton of parking around especially on Saturdays during farmers market season , as it is on the north side of Pioneer Park. The two people running the place are so hardworking and even though it is sometimes a little bit slower, I have so much appreciation for the hard work they do. They also keep the prices super fair and if you get the daily specials, you get a large amount of amazingly delicious food for under $10. That is so rare to find, especially with the quality of the food and the downtown location.

Yelp
Maybe a long line but fresh delicious ingredients peel ought in front of your eyes. Fun spot!
google avatar

Hoa T.

Yelp
Maybe my expectations were too high based on the reviews here. We had some spring rolls, curry dumpling, chicken pad thai, and vegetable pad see ew. The lady who took my order has a wicked memory. There were a few orders before mine and she brought out the orders to people and myself included no problem. Food came out pretty quick considering it's a two person operation. The food was okay. Nothing wrong with them but nothing amazing either. The best of the lot is definitely the curry dumplings. If I come back, I would try their curry. If you are looking for bang for buck, give this place another star.
google avatar

Yelp
I always love stopping by whenever I have the chance. It's a small shop, so I personally like getting takeout (there's outdoor seating) or eat in the car. The service is always quick, and the food is always made right in front of you. I love the drunken noodles, as the noodles are nice and wide, and there's a good portion of vegetables. It cost about $12 for a single plate. I highly recommend if you're craving Thai food in SLC!
google avatar

Layla G.

Yelp
I'm a fiend for a good pad thai and these guys make the best by far that I've had in the valley. Me and my partner can't stop talking about going back lol
google avatar

Corey R.

Yelp
Stopped in yesterday for a quick bite to eat and the Thai tea. Thai tea absolutely hit the spot delicious and creamy like a dessert. Will be back for that alone! Also got the Thai basil meal with white rice, great flavors but overall not my favorite dish. Workers were very nice and professional, excited to come back and try more.
google avatar

Brad R.

Yelp
Good thai food for an incredible price and speed. The owners are great. Almost no seating inside, though there are a few tables outside in the summer.

Izobella M.

Yelp
Our female server was nice. A bit pricy! I ordered drunken noodles and after 2 bites I asked if I can get it to go cause I don't like it much then ordered pad thai instead. Pad thai was a bit salty. But better than I ever had in most thai places in Utah. Chicken satay was good. Sticky rice was good.
google avatar

Ivey G.

Yelp
This is the greatest hole in the wall place! You can easily stumble right past when looking for this place. But if you're lucky enough to find it and go in you will not be disappointed. You walk in and the place is so hot because it's meant just for ordering and they're cooking everything fresh right there. The two people working who I assume were also the owners were so kind and helpful when we had a decent sized order. Even with our larger order everything came out quickly and extremely hot and fresh. And I don't have a complaint about a single thing I ate. Everything was flavorful and delicious and I think the portions were great for the price. I'm not sure if I'd eat there in the winter because the only tables were outside, but I will definitely come back for take out!

Stephanie Montion ..

Yelp
Mango sticky rice by far the best!!! They're always so quick in getting the food out too!
google avatar

Yelp
Some of the best Thai....check that the best Thai food I have ever tasted in the states. First I love the small, hole in the wall type vibe I got from this place. Second I love the that you can see your food being made. All the ingredients getting cooked, the flame, the smell. It made my mouth water so much. Third, that drunken noodles that I ate. I wish it was never ending. It was soooo.................good!!!! Every bite was omg!!! Hard to believe it's in Salt Lake City, Utah!!! MUST TRY!!! GO GET THEM NOODLES!!!
google avatar

Benis P.

Yelp
So amazing and busting in my mouth. The flavors are very great and yummy. Would recommend

Yelp
It was o.k. It didn't give me the taste I was looking for. I may try it again. The delivery was on time and quick. I did appreciate that.
google avatar

Yelp
I was in salt lake for the week for work training and found this little spot on yelp. Had to try it out and omg, the workers were very nice. The foods were also good. I had the pad Thai (very delicious) and the combo plate (didn't like it as much). I would recommend this spot to anyone who love Thai foods.
google avatar

Alan L.

Yelp
New favorite is the kao soi. This place is great! I love that it's open pretty late. The people are very nice.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
Hidden gem near Pioneer Park! We usually get food to go because the inside seating is fairly minimal, but on warmer days they have tables and seating available outside too. My go to is the Drunken Noodles and it never disappoints. Highly recommend if you're looking for Thai food in SLC
google avatar

Yelp
You'll want to read this review from a Thai food connoisseur's expert opinion Generally I enjoy good eats, but when Thai food is made properly, I can feel the happiness it brings to my soul (meaning Thai is my favorite cuisine). I can honestly say this hole in the wall, is a solid choice for a good meal well worth the money. I ordered the veggie drunken noodles (thoroughly enjoyed everything about this dish), the Thai fried rice (this I could have gone without and wouldn't order again due to the lack of flavor), Thai ice tea, and the mango sticky rice (simply delicious). Overall, the food was great I'd come back for the food, but the service was horrible even past the language barrier. The prices they have posted on the wall, are different from the prices they have listed on their menu, which conveys false advertisement because of course you'll be charged the menu prices, but what if you refer to the posted prices on the wall to order and aren't even aware of a higher price point? Not you though, you'll know because you're being informed as you read. Although I really enjoyed the food here (minus the Thai friend rice), I'm torn if I'd revisit because of feeling like I was taken advantage of, and embarrassed on top of that. Why? Because when I questioned the prices differences, the employees were both yelling simultaneously trying to explain their reasoning. If you go here, refer to the menu they have at the counter that way you'll have a better experience than I did.

Don L.

Yelp
Best Pad Thai I have had hands down. Noodles perfectly chewy. Bold tastes of tamarind and lime. Food is absolutely good. The couple running the restaurant was very nice and if you get a chance, read the article they posted on the wall, it really is a story of the American Dream. Small place but fast service and fair prices. Doesn't get much better.
google avatar

Sofi B.

Yelp
The best Thai food in SLC hands down. Plates are authentic. I wish it was possible to make them spicy, those chili flakes are not enough for me haha

Katie W.

Yelp
I got the pad see ew and I love Thai food normally..... guys, this has NO FLAVOR. this is the first Thai food I've had where they didn't ask a spice level- this has no spice at all. I'm so sad, I took the bus here and was so excited... but this has genuinely no flavor, not even salty. What a bummer :(
google avatar

Bret M.

Yelp
Super quick and great food. Portions are good and the prices have stayed surprisingly low over the years. I love this place!

Kennedy L.

Yelp
Seriously some of the best Thai food I have had! The drunken noodles were amazing! They had great quick service.

Yelp
Lovely staff and amazing food :))) Great location downtown! Yellow curry was great! Worth a try :)
google avatar

Yelp
Ok - I travel a ton all over the country and I can honestly say this place is beyond solid. The combo plate is a ton of great food for $8.49!!! It's so good I ate there 3 nights in a row!!!!!!!

Nathalie A.

Yelp
Super fast service and soooo delicious. My favorite Thai spot in Salt Lake City. Super affordable for the amount of food you get.

Yelp
OMG if you really want to see a what a true hole in the wall restaurant should be then you should go this place . I was very skeptical when I reached there but once I ate the food then only I realized why it has got so many five stars. It is truly small place and you can see your food being prepared. Everything is so fresh and so hot ( warm) and tasty , I can not explain. You can sit out side on the side walk and enjoy the food or bring with you . Portion is good . If you are staying in downtown SLC it is a must .

Terri I.

Yelp
Food is FANTASTIC! The place is small, but the food is cooked fresh. The peanut sauce is AMAZING! I have been back twice in 1 week!

Ellisha G.

Yelp
Laan Na Thai has been recommended to me numerous times since moving to SLC. Finally got to try it this week. Ordered over the phone and it was ready in 15 minutes. Delicious food for a reasonable price! We got the veggie egg rolls, curry dumplings, drunken noodles, and sweet n sour chicken. Everything was fresh and delicious, great portion sizes. Will definitely be back! Would highly recommend!
