Best Dishes Eater SF Editors Ate This Week: June 3 - Eater SF

"Hot August days working as a high school McBarista changed my outlook on life. I gained a newfound respect for workers at places like Lacàphê who dole out tall slushy potions of delight as throngs of feisty fans box out the claustrophobic counters. Smacking a few of the brain freeze-inducing drinks on the trunk of my mother-in-law’s Prius, I was transported to my mid-shift McFreezes. But Lacàphê’s options come with a level of intentionality and quality that, somehow, my McDonald’s didn’t prioritize. The Coco Freeze struck me as an ice cream-y riff on Vietnamese coffee. Toasted coconut flakes add a textural snap to the otherwise milkshake-like drink, huge rivers of cream streaking the plastic cup. While the shop’s Signature Saigon is for those looking to cleave closer to classic, the Coco Freeze blends Americana fast food, bubble tea outlets, and, yes, actual Vietnamese coffee drinks. But, also, like the original Italian frappe, this drinks more like a dessert than a pick-me-up; downing the entire $6.50 bev is a worthwhile effort, but not pre-jog fare. The oolong tea was a subtle boba companion to survive that South Bay sun. Even for those outside the prestigious fast food worker alumni groups of my youth and specialty coffee fans, hitting this coffee phenom is a plain smart way to start summer off right." - Eater Staff

Went here on 4th of July. I was prepared for them to be closed because of the holiday, but to my surprise it was open. I went around 8am and there was already like four people waiting on their drinks. The decor inside is nice with flowers around. The place is small so I would not recommend to hang around. I loved how the menu showed which drinks you are able to get hot. I got the coco freeze and it was just the right amount of coffee and coconut flavored. I am definitely going back and trying their matchas.

Google
Eggpresso Hanoi was perfect with 25% sweet and less ice. The new Thai latte was also flavorful with 25% sweet. Service was fast, and the staff was nice. It's a small shop, so there is not much decorations or comfortable settings like many other booming coffee shops in the area.

Google
I ordered the Banana matcha with oat anf we also got a Vietnamese coffee. Both were really good, I suggest 100% sweet for the matcha 😋 the Banana portion was very tasty reminded me of Banana pudding.

Tram Le

Google
My favorite coffee shop whenever I visit San Jose. Love the egg coffee, not too sweet, the Vietnamese strong coffee flavor blends perfectly with the creamy egg foams on the top. Highly recommend 🥰

Anna

Google
0% sugar still tasted sweet for the plain matcha latte. Overall all drinks were extremely sweet — both coffee and matcha. They only offer oat milk other than dairy. The matcha was grassy and not super smooth so the cost was unjustifiable. The store was extremely crowded but service was fast. Some people were studying inside but there were a lot of groups of people.

Google
the drinks made my taste buds flip. the coconut coffee was sooo creamy and smooth. like a caffeinated almond joy 😩 fast service too with a cozy aesthetic 🙂‍↕️#goated #yummydelicious

Great drinks here at Lacaphe. Located near great restaurants so it’s a good spot to visit in general. The parking is pretty bad in the plaza. It’s just so busy that you may want to look into parking outside the lot in the neighborhood. There are a lot of good drinks on the menu for you to try. The Banana matcha was our favorite. We subbed for oat milk, and I would get this one again. The Ube was okay. I didn’t get much of the Ube flavor in it. It was just kind of bland. Overall I liked Lacaphe. I would come back here!

Google
Absolutely divine banana matcha, fruit teas are good as well with the perfect sweetness. It does get crowded since the space is small but lines really go by fast and the workers are so efficient! Not sure if it’s family owned but the vibes are there, prices aren’t bad as well

Yelp
Hands down the best Vietnamese coffee in the Bay Area! This review has been a long time coming, but I'm finally getting to it. My go-to summer drink is the Coco Freeze--I get it at 75% sweetness, and it's perfect! Surprisingly, it's not too sweet even at that level. My other favorite (almost every weekend) is the Muoi, a Vietnamese coffee with salted cream. The consistency here is impressive--every drink is just as good as the last. The shop itself is pretty small, so it's not really a place to hang out. But they make ordering super easy through the Square app. The drinks come out fast, so if you're about 20 minutes away, I'd recommend ordering when you're around 10 minutes out. They do refrigerate drinks if you're running late, but if you're like me and hate melted ice watering things down, this is a good tip to keep in mind!

Yelp
We were so excited to see some of the Vietnamese coffee options we loved when we went to Vietnam, but sadly we were a bit disappointed by this place. We got the Muoi (salt cream) coffee and the ube, and the cream on the salt coffee was amazing but we really did not like the actual coffee they used for either drink. It was bitter and burnt, and while the creams added a nice creaminess, the coffee wasn't smooth and we just didn't really enjoy it. Particularly we were very disappointed by the ube, it didn't taste like ube at all and had a very bitter unpleasant taste, we ended up just throwing it away. The salt coffee was better towards the end when it was mostly just the cream and not much of that coffee flavor left lol. Unfortunately while a lot of potential, I would not recommend.

Yelp
Fell in love with this spot and found myself coming here 3 times that first week...we love 40mins away. Goes to show how much my family enjoyed the rich tea flavor with a blend of their sweetener and milk. The only downside was the 3rd time we went the boba was stiff and stale around 12-1p. Service is fine, nothing special and not really engaging but the drink quality makes up for it. Definitely one of the best tea flavors we've experienced in the bay area. Ambiance, its cute but always a full store so there's not a lot of privacy or personal space lol!

Yelp
Super cute phin coffee spot. Staff has been consistently friendly. Ordered the cocomango for my toddler and it was perfect. It's your standard coconut mango ice blend. I think the ice could've been blended a little more. I got myself a salted coffee 25% sweet and it was good. Be prepared to wait a few minutes bc they make the phin coffee to order. And if you order hot drinks before 11am they offer 25% discount for cozy hours. Solid coffee spot around the corner from Happy Hollow.
google avatar

Melanie H.

Yelp
Lacaphe hits the spot! The coffee itself is around a medium strength (opposed to other spots which are bolder), so you can enjoy without letting the ice dilute for a more balanced sip. This is a great starter place for people who are getting into Viet coffee or don't like how strong it typically is. Can't do work here because of the minimal seating. EGG COFFEE: 4.5/5 + MUST try! My favorite item here. The egg cream is perfectly sweet and easy to incorporate in + Nice to have a drink that you don't have to wait to enjoy, but it does go by fast! MUOI: 3.75/5 + Salted cream doesn't add much of a sweet and salty taste to the coffee, kinda lacks in both

Yelp
DEFINITELY ON MY TOP LIST OF BEST COFFEE SPOTS IN THE SOUTH BAY AREA!!!! It was literally love at first try! If you love Vietnamese coffee, this place is definitely for you! We came across this place bc of a friend's recommendation and he was spot on! This place delivers quality Viet coffee for a very reasonable price. We had to drive back on our last day in the Bay to make sure we get another dose of this greatness. Our favs were Eggspresso Hanoi and Muoi and we get both at 75% sweetness. They made it so perfect both times we went! It was almost addicting lol. This place is mostly a pick up and go place as there were only a handful seating in their cafe. It was pretty busy both times we went but service remained efficient and staff were very nice and friendly. They also have an online ordering in place for people who are in a hurry and don't have much time to wait for their coffee. One thing to note tho is that the plaza parking lot can get pretty hectic and full so just keep that in mind when you're in a hurry!
google avatar

Yelp
Best Vietnamese coffee in the Bay Area. I don't know if they put anything special in their signature Saigon coffee. It's so good in 50% sweetness. Coconut freeze and Golden lotus tea were just ok. Get the coffee when you're here.
google avatar

Marylynn M.

Yelp
Cute decor! Drinks were all beautiful and tasty. I kinda copied people adding the egg cream so now I'm curious how my staple Ube Coffee wouldn't tasted as is. I'd say try this spot out!

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday afternoon, and there were quite a few people inside. The cafe is located in a small plaza so there's quite a lot of parking, but it was quite full even after lunch hours. I ordered the egg coffee. The drinks came with a sippy cup lid, which is nice because we didn't need straws. Although I wish I mixed up the drink because I ended up having a thick layer of the egg cream at the end, which was hard to get to. The restaurant has lunar new year decorations and also themed cups for the holiday, which was a nice touch. Would come back here if I was in the area!

Yelp
I will always ruin my sleep schedule for some Viet coffee at any time of the day. When on Story Rd I just had to convince the group we needed an after dinner drink.... and not the alcoholic kind. Luckily we ate our way into a food coma down the street at Banh Cahn 3 Mien and needed caffeine. We ordered the egg coffee and muoi. Both were so deliciously caffeinated. I was up all night from this coffee and had no regrets. SJ is so lucky to have this spot! Maybe it's for the best that SF doesn't have this spot, otherwise I'd lose all my sleep.
google avatar

Tammy N.

Yelp
Tasty drinks on par with many other coffee and tea places in the area. Plenty of parking in the lot. Seating inside is pretty limited, so definitely more of a takeout place. Service was pretty quick! This time around I got the signature saigon 50% sweet. Despite adjusting the sweetness, this is still a pretty rich and decadent drink. The flavor of the coffee was strong and robust. I was here last in the summer when they had their salted plum and kumquat seasonal drink (which I miss dearly) and hope they bring it back since it was refreshing and unique. Overall, would definitely come again to try more of their drinks!

Yelp
Didn't come to this store myself physically, but my friend grabbed me a drink from Lacaphe. I got the ube coffee, which is phin-dripped coffee and ube fresh milk. Firstly, the visuals of the drink are very pleasing, with the purple ube color and brown coffee color. Secondly, I love the shape of the ice inside, as it was smaller and didn't move around the drink a lot when I took a sip. The flavor of the ube was quite prominent, and the coffee taste is good. The combination of both was great! I couldn't finish my drink the day of, so I put it overnight in the fridge for the morning, and, to my surprise, the drink still tasted quite good. I tried a sip of my friend's Vietnamese egg latte as well, and it was delicious! Based on the two drinks I tried, Lacaphe is a great representation of Vietnamese coffee! I'd love to visit the store myself and try some more flavors.

Yelp
Consistently solid vietnamese coffee spot in San Jose. Conveniently located in a plaza next to my favorite bun bo hue spot (shout out to Bun Bo Hue An Nam), Lacaphe serves up a mix of hot and cold vietnamese coffee lattes and boba drinks. When you enter, they have a few menus posted around so you can look while you wait in line. We ordered at the front counter. Drinks took maybe 10 minutes but it was very busy on New Years. Friendly staff. They have a few window seats and tables but when it gets busy, it's more comfortable for me to grab and go. I always get their iced egg Coffee for under $7 which is sweet, creamy and so rich in flavor. Lastly, for those who care, they have a unisex bathroom available to customers in the back which was clean and well maintained. Overall great spot and conveniently located.

Yelp
We were in the area and got to try their coffee again. It was around 1 pm and pretty busy right after the lunch rush. I got the Eggspresso Hanoi and my partner got their new promo drink of Green Thai Tea, both at 50% sweet and less ice. The guy who was taking orders was rude/dismissive of answering questions about what the new drink was. The flavor of the coffee itself was great. 50% is really the way to go because once mixed with the egg cream, it's the perfect amount of sweetness. Overall, okay experience.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place out for a while since I've been seeing it everywhere on Instagram. We came by Sunday afternoon and luckily there was no wait to order. It's a cute shop with some seating (all taken by the time we arrived). We ordered: - Ube (3/5): ordered it 25% sweet and it was the perfect sweetness. You can definitely taste the Ube but something about the flavor (not quite sure what it is) is not my cup of tea. If you love Ube you should definitely try it! - Eggspresso Hanoi (4/5): this was my favorite of the ones we got. We got 50% sweet but should have gotten 25% instead. If I ever come back I would get this one! - Signature Saigon (2/5): of course I had to get their "signature" but this was definitely my least favorite of the 3. The sweetness level seems way higher than the other two (I got 50% so same sweetness as the eggspresso but tasted at least twice as sweet). Overall, it's a cute place with cute drinks so I understand the hype, but I would not go out of my way to come here.

Yelp
Lacaphe is my go-to coffee shop, and I've never had a bad experience there. On a Saturday afternoon around 2 pm, I didn't have to wait long for my Saigon freeze. I placed my order about 5 minutes before I got it, which was pretty fast. They also let you choose the sugar level, and I found the 25% setting to be perfect for this drink. It's a blend of ice and coffee, similar to a smoothie, and I really enjoy it. The parking lot was a bit busy in the afternoon, but the store itself was decorated with a lot of cute Christmas decorations. I highly recommend this place to my friends!
google avatar

Jenny H.

Yelp
Delicious coffee drinks! They open during key holidays like Christmas, which is a huge plus. I'd highly recommend ordering online first because the walk-in wait times can get really long. Loved the following drinks: * Eggspresso Hanoi: less ice, 50% sweet * Ube Coffee: less ice; 25% sweet * Muoi Coffee: less ice; 25% sweet Their drinks are strong, flavorful, and balanced. Very rich in flavor even if you adjust the sweetness level. They're all aesthetically pleasing as well. Truly solid Vietnamese coffee!
google avatar

Kanika K.

Yelp
What a gem in the little Saigon area of San Jose! The shop is in a strip mall with ample parking spots. We got the ube and the eggspresso Hanoi and I loved my eggspresso Hanoi hot! My friend got the iced ube which wasn't purple at all but tasted pretty great. It's a fun coffee shop if you are looking for unique flavors and quick service. Not necessarily your morning fix daily coffee shop though!
google avatar

Danae L.

Yelp
Recommended house milk tea is ok. Boba was undercooked and I had higher expectations. I think they're more popular for coffee, can't wait to try that next time
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
*review only based on their teas* Both teas were strong in flavor which I really enjoyed! A bit too sweet for my preference so id probably go for 50% or less next time. The baristas were sweet and we got our drinks pretty fast. Peach black tea: I love how strong all the flavors were. The peach, orange, and lemongrass were all present- definitely would get this again! Thai lime: I looove a good green Thai tea and it's rare to find green Thai tea without milk. It's actually really good with lime and super refreshing. Their green Thai tea is pretty solid. not my #1 but since they're one of the only spots that offer this drink that I'm aware of, I'd come back for it.
google avatar

Brandon L.

Yelp
I don't even like coffee. BUT I LOVE THIS PLACE. I think this place has a wide variety of different types of coffee depending on preference. I usually get the ube coffee and for someone who doesn't like the bitterness of coffee I think this drink balances the bitterness and sweetness from the ube. Usually there is a line but depending on the time there might not be one. There is limited seating inside and it is a pretty small shop but still nice nonetheless.
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
Lacàphê offers refreshing grab and go Vietnamese style coffee. This cafe offers minimal seating but offers serious flavor, perfect for those looking to try something new.
google avatar

May-Lynn L.

Yelp
Cute modern vietnamese cafe that has drinks that bring me back to Vietnam! Lacaphe's menu is a good representation of what hip coffee shops in Vietnam are like all over the country. With egg coffees, lotus teas and peach lemongrass teas. The Signature Saigon is a traditional ca phe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee) but with a salty cream on top. The salted cream cuts through the richness of the coffee and actually tastes salted. The coffee is super smooth and is very solid. Would definitely recommend the coffee because it's definitely a strength. If you're from OC it's more similar to Phin in taste than it is Da Vien. I also got the lychee tea 0% sweet because it was one of the only teas they could do 0% but it was still very very sweet. I think because there's some type of lychee syrup that they use for the flavor. I personally wasn't a fan of the tea. Parking can be hard on the weekends and there isn't too much seating as the store is pretty small. Overall, Lacaphe is an awesome coffee shop to try traditional Vietnamese coffees! I will definitely be trying out other items on their menu in the future.
google avatar

Theresa B.

Yelp
Lacaphe is so good! It's one of the best places in San Jose for Vietnamese egg coffee. The only other place I like is Trung Nguyên Legend, which is also delicious but just so $$ in comparison. If you're not feeling coffee, definitely try out the cocomango! It's super refreshing and tasty. I don't usually like fruity drinks at boba/coffee shops, but I like this one because the mango flavor doesn't taste artificial, and the drink has fresh mangos. The inside of the shop is cute, but I'd knock off half a star (bringing the overall rating to 4.5/5 stars) since this place is always so crowded and every time I've gone, there's almost always a line. The plaza is also super packed, so parking isn't always the quickest or easiest. Would recommend ordering online first, then maybe going with someone else to pick up--that way you don't have to deal with the line or the parking.
google avatar

Trisha L.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try egg Vietnamese coffee for the longest time and my work bestie was able to take me this past weekend! We had a couple places in mind to try, but Lacàphê was what we both agreed on. Lacàphê is near the Walmart on Senter road. It's inside a plaza that has the Bun Bo Hue + Vietnamese spot, and parking may be tricky to find. We were able to find a spot right away, and there was only a few people in line. However, after we ordered there was a huge line that formed. There are a few tables inside the store. There are two larger tables where it can accommodate up to 4 people, and then there's a few tables that can seat up to 2 against the other wall. I would not recommend having larger parties sit around inside since the store is pretty small with 1 cashier available. PRICING: My work bestie and I looked at the menu and tried only their Vietnamese coffee. We ended up ordering: -Ube Vietnamese coffee $6.00 -Eggsoresso Hanoi coffee $ 6.95 Total: $12.95 Our drinks only took roughly 5-10 minutes to receive after ordering and we were super stoked to try. With any of the cloud cream/egg cream drinks, you can definitely drink it with or without a straw. I would recommend without, so you can get the cream + the coffee together. You can also mix it up with your drink and have it that way if you prefer. REVIEW: -Ube Vietnamese Coffee: This one was pretty good! The Ube flavoring did help sweeten the Vietnamese coffee, which is a bitter (if you haven't tried it before). The drink was very smooth and the Ube is not overly sweet at all - it's light and subtle 4/5 -Eggspresso Hanoi Coffee: THIS ONE WAS THE ONE. This was so good! You do get the bitterness of the Vietnamese coffee, and the creaminess of the egg cloud cream. It's SO good. It's almost like a Happy Lemon drink, but this one will get your heart racing LOL SOOO glad I was able to try some egg Vietnamese coffee!!! Definitely is a game changer 5/5. My little brother ended up coming here again and told me that their lychee drink was good too + this is what they're known for! I ended up trying this and it's super refreshing! The lychee was sweet, but it did not taste artificial at all. It was very balanced and I liked it! My brother did get 75% sweet and less ice, but I think you can lean more towards 50-75% depending on your sweetness. 4/5 Definitely will be back to try the salted Vietnamese coffee and the coco freeze!! So glad we're getting places that specialize in Vietnamese coffee like this :)
google avatar

Sandy N.

Yelp
Super good Vietnamese Coffee right in the Bay Area! We got the Ube Coffee and the Coco Freeze to try! Both were highly caffeinated, so if you need something to keep you awake Lacàphê is the way to go! The Ube coffee is very potent with Ube flavor, which in my opinion is something other cafes struggle with. The Coco Freeze being one of signature drinks was definitely their standout! It contained toasted shredded coconut and a creamy texture making it very pleasant and cooling. Both options were great in showing what Lacàphê's brand!
google avatar

HanNa P.

Yelp
Drinks were good, they were freshly made. I got the coconut freeze and it was flavorful, strong coffee taste. And decent amount of coconut. Would comeback with my husband! My new goto for Vietnamese coffee. Great for a caffeine fix. Service was fast. The place is pretty small. Private lot in-front.
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
Ambiance: a little small but cute Service: a little slow but they are busy! Food: got the muoi and the lychee and goodness it is SO GOOD!!!!! Overall solid place and so good :-)
google avatar

AiVi N.

Yelp
Cute little Vietnamese coffee shop tucked in a busy plaza. Lacaphe puts out consistently good coffee drinks. You can't go wrong with any drink on their base menu whether it's coffee or tea. I specifically like the bạc xỉu, basically a Vietnamese latte. More milk than the typical Vietnamese coffee so no heart palpitations even if I drink it too fast. Don't get me wrong it's still very strong. Pictured is their seasonal drink over the summer, avocado bac xiu. The name may raise an eyebrow but it was pretty fire. The inside is quite small, with just a few smalll tables along the side wall and some bigger tables for groups in the front. Probably not my first pick for study/sit down and chat cafe but it is very nicely decorated inside. The parking lot is pretty nightmarish in my opinion, especially on the weekends. Limited parking spaces with a line of active restaurants. I usually just order online for quick and easy pickup. Would recommend! This is one of our usual coffee pick-ups.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
This is not our first, second, or 11th time here haha! Staff is always friendly and happy, no matter how busy it gets and that matters! Drinks are always consistent! The store itself is clean and welcoming!
google avatar

Christiana S.

Yelp
The Signature Saigon is oh so delicious! If they made a bigger size I would get it the next time! The worker helped me decide which coffee to get because I wanted to try them all! The cafe is more of a place to go to and hang out and chit chat vs a study area. Will definitely return back!
google avatar

Michele T.

Yelp
We love checking out different coffee spots, especially those offering phin coffee. This place was busy when we arrived - all the tables were taken. Placed our orders and waited for about 15 minutes for them to be ready. Hubs ordered the Eggspresso Hanoi. He said it was ok. I ordered the Ube at 50% sweetness. The ube flavor in this drink was more pronounced than at other places I've tried. Have to mix the ube and coffee together for the sweetness as it was all in the ube milk. The drinks were good; however, unless i was in the area, I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip there to order again.
google avatar

Rebecca W.

Yelp
This is the best Vietnamese coffee I've ever had!!!!! This place was POPPIN' when we came (around 11:30am) on a weekend. But service was fast, and parking was...doable. The plaza has plenty of spots but it gets pretty chaotic. Of course, I got the Eggspresso Hanoi here - 50% sweetness. It was perfection. The foam was thick and creamy, and everything I could've dreamed of. My partner got the Salted Coffee and it was also so delicious! Who knew the subtle saltiness on top of creamy foam would pair so well with the coffee?! The espresso is definitely strong and concentrated. They also all look beautiful. I can't wait to come back and try their ube one! There are only a few seats inside (but it gets crowded so not a super great place to sit and catch up with a friend), so definitely more of a grab and go cafe!
google avatar

Cindy T.

Yelp
My first time trying Lacàphê was on Wednesday 11/13 when my co worker recommended trying this place on door dash. I was hesitant to get the green cloud because there was no description. However, I ended up ordering it anyways and let me tell you 10/10!! I know it's a seasonal drink but I hope it stays because this is the best light refreshing drink ever. I'm a matcha girly and this was even better. I got it a second time today 11/16 and I got my boyfriend to try it as well, and it's hooked on it. We will def be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Lotus Milk Tea with Oolong Tea Boba 7.5/10 Ca Phe Muoi 7.5/10 I've been meaning to try La Ca Phe since they opened! Lotus Milk Tea with Oolong Tea Boba had a delightful and subtle lotus aroma. It was a bit on the sweeter side. Ca Phe Muoi was strong and paired well with the salted cream. I thought both drinks were on the sweeter side. I would suggest lessening the sweetness.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Besides the traditional Vietnamese coffee drinks, Lacaphe offers a variety of fruit teas, milk teas, and blended drinks so that everyone has an option based on their preferences. My personal favorites are the lotus milk tea and low caffeine Vietnamese coffee. Even the low caffeine coffee was strong for me personally, and I wouldn't recommend reducing sugar too much for coffee drinks if you don't want the espresso flavor to be overwhelming. While it's a small space, they make an effort to decorate for holidays and drinks are always completed in a reasonable timeframe despite long lines during the weekends.
google avatar

Stacy W.

Yelp
Drinks were tasty! I ordered the Hanoi egg coffee. Overall, wasn't to sweet and a bit salty from the cream
google avatar

Benjamin T.

Yelp
Lacaphe is a new hip Vietnamese coffee shop that has been buzzing near little saigon. Overall it has a cute vibe and nice coffee shop aesthetic to it Be aware as it is a Vietnamese coffee shop their drinks prolly run sweeter than the typical American drinks so get 25% less than ur usual They have a variety of tea and coffee drinks and are super fast (got my drink within 2 minutes from ordering) The ube latte was very strong and for 25% sweetness was just right. Parking during peak hours might be difficult so u might needa find street parking Overall would recommend if ur in the area!

Yelp
Located in area known as Little Saigon is where we came upon Lacàphê a trendy Vietnamese coffee cafe and its popularity is growing among fellow devotees. Every time Bro and I passed by this place there's always a line out the door so we decided to come by on Saturday morning only a few customers ahead of us, but our wait was very short I chose Lychee tea 25% less sweetness less ice Bro chose Golden lotus 50% sweetness less ice both drinks comes in large size had a sweet subtle taste mild flavorable more of an energy drink so fulfilling with an aromatic twist. Their main speciality are the various authentic Vietnamese ice blended coffee both eggspresso Hanoi and Saigon signature drinks are on the top list. Staff very attentive and quick on their feet by the time we left there about seven or eight people waiting to placed their orders. Ample parking best to come by early than later in the day. The only downsize limited seating mainly take-outs only.

Yelp
Saw this on our way down to Santa Cruz & had to make a pit stop. I've heard lots about egg coffee but had yet to see it anywhere near me! Lacaphe is a lil cafe located in the most unassuming strip mall. The shop itself is pretty simple, just the average minimalistic white-and-wood-accents look, if a little rough around the edges. We placed an order with the cashier, which was ready within minutes. EGGSPRESSO HANOI: Yummy! My first time trying egg cream. Just lightly eggy, rich and creamy. Kind of reminds me of tiramisu but not quite. The coffee flavor is rich & sweetened well. COCOMANGO: Just as expected, an icy coconut milk smoothie with mango bits. Very refreshing. Wish the mango was mixed in more since it's hard to stir the thick consistency with a straw, so you end up having to ration the mango between sips LOL. NOTE: Bathroom was kinda gross lol. Not the worst but very bare bones and had no soap...

Yelp
When I think of Vietnamese coffee, this is the place that comes up in my mind. All of their options scream Vietnamese to me and it is all so good. I have tried at least 80% of their menu and they are all so good. This is the standard I compare my Vietnamese coffee to. The service is quick and easy. You just order at the front and eventually your drink comes out. The area is quite small though. There are seats that you can sit at to chill and talk but I would not recommend that since it does get crowded. Overall, really great coffee and you cannot go wrong with this place.

Yelp
The Eggspresso Hanoi is just to die for. On a day where I'm feeling like I need a spike in energy to keep me going, I can count on Lacaphe's drinks to help. This is coming from someone who almost exclusively drinks tea or milk tea. The only icky thing about this place is how they handle their pickup orders hence the knock in the star rating. I ordered a coffee for pickup and was waiting in the parking lot for the OK on the app to come in but the time for pickup kept increasing. Finally when I came in and showed them my order while explaining the situation, the staff just looked confused at one another and lo' and behold, they grabbed my drink from the refrigerator and handed it over. The lesson here is not to trust the estimated pickup times for this place or to just order in person.

Yelp
TL:DR - Great strong coffee, fun drink ideas. Located in a strip mall at the corner, the parking lot is pretty small, so you might have to wait for a spot. Lacaphe is a small coffee shop smashed between two other Vietnamese restaurants. You'll know it's the one because of the groups of people waiting outside for their drinks. We went for the egg coffee and Mu-oji coffee. The egg coffee had a strong eggy taste to it, kind of like custard. And the mu-oji, salted coffee was the perfect balance of sweet, bitter, and creamy. Both drinks were well worth revisiting and the wait to get them was only about 5 minutes. They also offered some other drinks that were unusual like a "thai coffee" but it was green. I'm not sure what that was about, because they also offered a pandan coffee, so what's in a Thai one? Anyways, if you're looking for a good vietnamese coffee, Lacaphe is worth stopping by.

Yelp
Cute little spot off of Lucretia. Parking was a bit busy but once you get in, you kind of forget it all. If you're tryna do some work, school work, there's only a few spots to chill at. Ordered the eggsspresso and it was pretty good. The time it took me to order, was how long it took to prep. That was nice. It was quiet for a bit until it wasn't. The lunch time rush made it a bustling hub. It'd be a great spot to just people w

Yelp
I ordered the lotus drink. I've never had a lotus milk tea before so I was very intrigued. It was very refreshing! The taste was familiar to other Asian desserts I've had before, and I do like it. This drink was enough to keep me awake for the drive to SoCal. The line was pretty long, but they moved fast and they do have the option to order ahead.

Yelp
Ordering online makes a huge difference! You can see all the available selection, make adjustments and avoid the wait! I ordered the eggspresso with 0% sugar and it was strong and delicious! It was already sweet with the egg cream so I highly recommend getting the least amount of sugar. I drank half and finished it the next day. I've been recommended this location numerous times and I am glad that I did!

Yelp
Love this place! My husband and I always make a stop here whenever we're in the area. I'm glad that the place is always busy but I do wish the space was bigger. It's very hard to maneuver to the pick up area when there is a line out the door and people are waiting for their drinks. However, most people don't wait very long as the staff are very efficient and always working hard. I appreciate that there are things on the menu that aren't coffee since there are times where I'm not craving coffee. The green thai tea is my favorite and I'll be sad if they ever take this off the menu!

Yelp
This Vietnamese coffee shop is quickly becoming my favorite to frequent. I love love the eggspresso Hanoi. It's deliciously creamy, velvety and not too strong. Perfect for sipping slowly while on my way home. I've ordered this same coffee several times now. So good. I think I should try ordering something different next time ;) The service is friendly and fast. Ordering is quick and simple to follow. And I haven't had to wait for more than a couple of minutes. Cute little coffee shop in a tiny strip mall.

Yelp
A hip coffee shop with interesting flavors. I tried the Coco Freeze and the Ube. The Ube was a neat combination that tasted as expected. My favorite though was the Coco Freeze which tasted very delectable. The service was fast and responsive. And the ambiance was hip and festive because of the holiday season.
