Ladies Pavilion

My roommate and I were visiting the NY Historical, I looked on maps ahead of time and happened to notice the Ladies Pavilion. I was amused by the reviews as someone who never writes them — who would feel the need to give it one star, and the beauty in the 5 star reviews. Well, after our visit and a stop for happy hour, we found our way to the park for a snowy walk, having forgotten about the Ladies Pavilion, and happened upon it! A magical sight indeed, peaceful at night, a lovely view of the snowy pond, and we had it all to ourselves (it was freezing out!). Visit with your best friend!

A great viewpoint on the upper midtown Manhattan skyline reflected across some clear and smooth water. This portion juts out a bit, so there’s actually a 270° view from here, if you go down to the water.

Great place for a photo op! Right on the lake and next to a fun area to climb around on the rocks and spot some ducks and turtles.

One of the most amazing spots to get married in Central Park. This is ideal for couples eloping or having a pop up wedding. It's a little crowded inside if there are more than 5 or 6 people, but about 10 more people can be outside comfortably. This is not an ideal place if planning a wedding or elopement with more than 20 people.

I have been to this place and that this place is a nice romantic place to sit and relax. This is because the place is by the lake which I can take in wonderful views of the lake and turtles on a nice day swimming in the water. Also, that this is a wonderful place to take in photos.

As a NYC engagement, wedding, and elopement photographer, I highly recommend choosing Ladies Pavilion to capture your elopement or intimate wedding. The pavilion is so stunning and makes for the perfect backdrop for your ceremony! There are also so many other nearby locations, like Bethesda Terrace, to head to after for stunning photos.

Nice place with the lake and high rise buildings view. You can see tons of baby turtles and ducks in the lake and around the area. Easy to reach from 77th street. Place was peaceful, away from the large crowds.

This is very nice area where you can seat and enjoy your time. Sometimes its get crowded but great place. Fall visit is must if you are in this area.

This pavilion offers the most gorgeous sunset. There were hardly anyone here during the evening and a small seating area.

When you visit Central Park it's a must to see the Ladies Pavilion if only for it's noteworthy historic value. I came across it accidentally walking through the park one day. I enjoy the quiet solitude of the area. Vandals destroyed the original structure in 1971. The pavilion was partially rebuilt in 1973 with the use of some of its overhead panels. Six years later, it was completely restored using grants mostly from a Japanese Benefactor. The Central Park Conservancy ensures the pavilion is maintained in a good state of repair. I'm glad it was restored. I'm looking forward to returning in the Spring. The plants that grow in the area and the unusual nature of the geographic location provides me with a feeling of being taken back in time.

Really nice view of the lake and Central Park. This structure is a popular picture taking spot, especially in the Spring and Summer. Not so much on a cold winter day as when I was running by today. Still, the park is covered in snow which makes it picturesque and people were in there snapping pics. You'll definitely see some weddings here now and then.

Tucked away in the Hernshed section of the Great Lawn is my favorite spot in Central Park. A skinny grooved pathway amidst the trees takes you to a Victorian wrought iron edifice beautifully cast in filigree detail. This is the Ladies' Pavilion. It's a perfect spot to get some shade and if you're ever caught in a rainstorm in the park, this is where to go to ride out the elements. Come, sit, and enjoy the lakeside view. A piece of perfection in our lovely city of Gotham.

A friend of mine got married here... great spot! Try to avoid the weekend, or you'll have to compete to sit inside.

This little gem of a spot was not so easy to find, but once you know where it is its a piece of cake. My fiance and I were wondering around Central Park looking for a place to hold our intimate wedding ceremony in Sept. We had looked at a few spots throughout the park, but none of them spoke to me... Until we stumbled upon this. It is absolutely gorgeous, secluded, and perfect for a small ceremony. We are so excited its not even funny. Our wedding is over a holiday weekend, so I'll update after we see how crowded it is for our ceremony. Hopefully not too bad!

the Ladies Pavillion is a wonderful little spot where I married my wonderful wife July 2014 its often used for this in the summer as are many of the Central Park landmarks. Scenic view over looking a lake and a rock feature I recommend it for that unique wedding. But obviously get permission you will also have Joe public watching which is part of what makes it unique

Great view of Central Park and the lake. It's ideal to watch turtles or ducks and even the sunset. Great place to do a picnic or even quick to go lunch.
