Upon entrance the interior of the restaurant was interesting, old school but upscale vibe. Made a reservation online which they didn't seem to have record of (semi-awkward as I stood there trying to make sure I got the correct date/time) but plenty of seating was available. We were sat in a corner and figured with so much availability they would space other parties out, but instead they continued to fill tables around us. I understand we're in a public space but the tables were close together, so we got to enjoy our conversations as well as the tables next to us.
For appetizers we ordered the birds nest, oysters, and the olives. Birds nest was good, tasty take on bread and cheese. Olives came in a huge portion but were a good complement to the birds nest. The preserved lemon-carrot mignonette made it hard to find any natural flavors of the oyster, they didn't have much liquid in the shell so we had to finger out the meat out as we tried to eat them.
The pomegranate salad had raspberries in place of the pomegranate, which was confusing, not sure exactly what happened there? Also had other elements not mentioned in the description.
From the main dishes we had the gnocchi, halibut and pizza. The gnocchi was probably my favorite followed by the pizza. The salsa verde flavors didn't come through the halibut dish making it somewhat lackluster. I love a good olive oil but not everything needs to be finished with a drizzle. I was looking forward to dessert (because the table next to us seemed to enjoy theirs), however we weren't offered the option even after we had requested a dessert menu.
Overall, I'd return for the cocktails, unfortunately not so much the food.
