"The pretty rooftop bar atop Dupont’s Kimpton Banneker is only available for special events (for now) from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., with menus from Le Sel’s chef Walter Silva. The terrace offers vistas of the White House and Washington Monument that are especially spectacular at sunset. The newly restored Australian Embassy below is a feat of modern design, wrapped in bronze trim and tinted glass." - Tierney Plumb

Lady Bird is a wonderful rooftop bar with a distant view of our one-and-only pencil (ie, Wash Monument). With a glamorous decor and nice views, I was expecting the lounge to be packed; instead, it offered a comfortable space with plush seats to relax and enjoy a Friday night. We got a few shareables and delicious cocktails. The food was okay, but the drinks were amazing! Loved their spritz (Campari instead of Aperol), and my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed the lychee martini. Only reason for the 4 star: long wait. The staff was chaotic from the start and we waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Nobody did, so we went up to the bar. I really look forward to coming again, and hopefully experiencing better service! Otherwise, Lady Bird is a hidden gem and well worth the visit.

Hidden gem! Vibe is top notch. Think giant palms and plush couches with outdoor comfy patio cushions. Adorable decor and amazing drinks!! I’m told the sunset views are amazing, but it’s a bit cloudy today. Will need to come back. Hannah made a great lychee martini and was so friendly!! Odd that this place is dead though. Seems like marketing isn’t happening bc no reason this place should be so dead.

UPDATE: Was finally able to experience LB and was pleasantly surprised with the cocktail offerings and seating accommodations. Outdoor seating was via reservation only at the time of my visit, but the gorgeous sunset views were well worth it. Footnote: As anticipated [and understandably] LB is short-staffed; service/expedition will more than likely be at a slower pace, and must be kept in mind during weekend visits especially... OP (1/22) Was looking quite forward to having cocktails at Lady Bird during my recent four-day stay at the Kimpton Banneker; so much so, that I made a point of familiarizing myself with their stated offerings and began following their Instagram page. In doing the latter, I received a notification --- on the first day of my stay, in fact! --- via an Instagram post, that they would be opening at 4PM that afternoon for service. Come that time however, we found the doors locked, and was told by the Kimpton concierge that they would not be open that evening, as they were only open for business on the weekends. Come the weekend nonetheless, Ladybird was still closed --- and remained closed during the duration of my stay. While I understand that staffing shortages and restricted operating hours are not uncommon these days (and am in no way faulting LB!) I am posting this review as a gentle caution to any would-be visitors against relying on their social media pages (which appear to be auto-generating content) for operating information, and contacting either the hotel's front desk or LB directly! Have already raised the aforementioned concern(s) with Kimpton Banneker, and have noted that LB at present, appears to be updating their posts' captions as necessary; looking forward to both ultimately imbibing at Lady Bird and amending this "rating" accordingly!

Drinks are great. The view is amazing. Visited a few times during my stay. Phillip, Rochelle, and Mia were more than amazing. They made sure that every visit was fantastic. Could not be happier with the service they provided on such a busy weekend. I will return next year, and hope to see them again!

Sonny and Chris, behind the bar, made our experience beyond enjoyable!! Both have a wealth of knowledge about their trade and make amazing drinks . . . But the best part was their friendly and open personalities!! Inside the bar itself is lovely and outside seating is comfortable and open. We would recommend Lady Bird to any friend living in DC or visiting the area!

Had a wonderful time here at Lady Bird with a few friends. The views were amazing and the space was cozy and inviting. It was late and windy so our waitress MiMi gave us a few blankets. She was so warm and friendly! We had the chicken lollipops which in my opinion were the best on the menu. The deviled eggs were a close second. The Negroni was a tasty drink. Will definitely return soon!

I recently hosted a rooftop yoga event at Lady Bird THE Roof Top, conveniently located atop the Kimpton Banneker in DC. The experience was outstanding from start to finish! Brittany Duarte, the event rep I worked with, was incredible. She welcomed me, had excellent directional signs set up, and ensured the room was perfectly arranged with fruit-infused water, towels, and spare yoga mats. As the owner of Rock n Flow Yoga, I held a rooftop yoga class for City Girls Who Walk DC (CGWWDC). Brittany's meticulous attention to detail and clear communication made the process smooth and stress-free. Her full transparency and cooperation, which were highly valued, especially as I am a small business owner, made me feel respected. The venue was a hit with my clients, who were equally impressed with the space. Between my experience and my client's positive reaction, I booked the space again for the fall. If you're looking for a fantastic rooftop space in DC with top-notch service, I highly recommend Lady Bird at the Kimpton Banneker. Thank you, Brittany, for all your hard work in making our event memorable and a success!

The food & cocktails are great. Perfect rooftop view at sunset, friendly and attentive staff, and such a consideration to design. Definitely a new favorite!!!
