"Named for the Irish playwright and co-founders of Dublin’s Abbey Theatre, this comfy Andersonville pub makes patrons feel right at home with its spacious interior complete with a library and fireplace. The food menu offers comforting favorites such as chicken pot pie, meatloaf, and lobster mac and cheese as well as a selection of gluten-free items, while the drink list has everything fans of Irish booze need with an extensive selection of beers, including a half dozen layered draft beers, and whiskeys. There’s also an Old Town location, known as LG’s Bar." - Sam Nelson
"Many Chicago neighborhoods have a beloved Irish pub, and Andersonville has Lady Gregory’s. The food here is simple and goes well with a pint of beer. Expect comforting dishes like chicken pot pie, meatloaf, lobster mac and cheese, and decadent sandwiches. But the pub grub isn’t the only star here: Lady Gregory’s bartenders pour around 100 brews and 300 whiskeys, and the establishment also has a beautiful seating area with a library and fireplace. There’s also an Old Town location and the owners operate Wilde in Lakeview." - Eater Staff
"Lady Gregory’s is a fun Irish pub in Andersonville that’s like an old Victorian home, with a mishmash of tchotchkes, framed photos and paintings, and a wood-paneled library that’s begging you to settle in with one of their 300 whiskeys and a copy of Dubliners. And while it can get dark and loud depending on the day, a seat on the calmer patio is a solid alternative." - veda kilaru, adrian kane, john ringor
"Lady Gregory’s in Andersonville serves up a fine plate of fish and chips. The haddock is a change from the usual perch, cod, and whiting, and a gluten-free variation is available." - Ashok Selvam, Naomi Waxman, Eater Staff
"Lady Gregory’s is a fun Irish pub in Andersonville that’s great for drinking with friends. Dining here feels like hanging out in an old Victorian home, with a mishmash of framed photos and paintings, tchotchkes like golden animal figurines, a cozy library with a fireplace, and a persistent Irish folk playlist. The menu has just-fine pub food like burgers, fish and chips, and a variety of pot pies. The Hatch Kick-Ass Burger is topped with hatch chiles and Marie Rose sauce, but the meat is a bit under-seasoned. We appreciate the curried veggie pot pie's flaky crust, but wish that the filling wasn't so watery and sweet. Instead of grabbing a full dinner, come here for a Guinness or one of their 300 whiskeys and maybe some fries as a snack." - John Ringor
