The Hit List: New Mexico City Restaurants To Try Right Now - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"This Thai food stall, named in honor of a late chef and friend of the owners, is the city’s latest sensation—and it’s easy to understand why. The bold, zesty, herby flavors of their street food dishes are mesmerizing. Diners huddle around the stand—which is adorned with neon lights and an array of sauce bottles on the shelves—to eat tum khao pod, a spicy corn salad, and marinated spicy pork and coconut rice, and then counter the burn with a non-alcoholic Colima Cero beer (food trucks can’t serve liquor). Head to this Roma Norte spot before heading to one of the many bars in the area—just make sure to grab a picture inside the tuk tuk that’s usually parked in front before you leave." - guillaume guevara

Food is very good. Service is the worst. They make you feel like they are making you a favor by serving you food. Almost like if they are not aware this is a restaurant. I’d rather go somewhere else. Also, I ordered two dishes just for me and ended up still hungry.

Wow — as good as the best Thai food I’ve had. It’s a mountain of flavor, on a relaxed corner with smiling people. We’ll be back very soon.

After 2 years living in Bangkok and tried more than 50 Khao Ka Moos, it was very emotional to find this place in CDMX. The Khao Ka Moo here is super tasty, btw, lacks authencity in the chilli sauce (super low acidity), the ratio of fat-meat in the pork (Khao Ka Moo in Thailand is way more fattier) and a more herbaceous kick in the pork sauce. The price is Roma Norte style = 180 pesos. For comparison, the average of a Khao Ka Moo in Bangkok is 50 pesos per plate. Overall, a super cool spot.

Foodies Dream: This Thai street stand isn’t your typical spot—no Pad Thai here! It’s all about the bold flavors of Northeast Thailand’s Isan region, perfect for foodies craving authentic pork dishes. The vibe is electric, with a glowing neon sign and the sizzle of the grill drawing you in. The Kor Moo Yang is a safe bet: grilled pork neck, smoky and tender, with crisp cucumber on the side. The Khao Kha Moo is pure comfort—slow-cooked pork leg over rice, melt-in-your-mouth delicious with pickled veggies and chili. For a sweet twist, the Moo Aran mixes sticky rice, coconut, and pork in a delightful combo. Feeling brave? The Larb Moo is a spicy minced pork salad with lime, chili, and herbs—it’ll clear your sinuses in one bite! Recommendation: Dive into Isan’s fiery flavors at this stand. Order the Khao Kha Moo for comfort, Larb Moo for heat, and Kor Moo Yang for a crowd-pleaser. A quick, spicy adventure you won’t forget! P.S. It’s a street stand - no chairs and tables. So kinda dine in: They don’t have to-go boxes, so you may want to bring some Tupperware if you want to order enough to take out—haha! 🤣

Taste is amazing, an incredible option for Thai food in Mexico City! Customer service is great, everyone at the place is just very nice and kind, the place itself is a bit small but the food and its flavor are just superb!!! If you have the chance to go there, just go and eat 🤩🤩

This place is a gem! Good Thai food that is cheap(ish) is hard to find in CDMX and this place delivers! It’s northern Thai food so more weighted towards fresh salads with meat rather than curries and noodles but the food is good and the prices are reasonable. There’s usually a line so come prepared to wait a bit - but the wait is worth it. Some dishes can be very spicy so pick carefully although I’d say if you can’t tolerate spice, northern Thai food isn’t for you anyway. This is about as authentic as it gets here. Really enjoyed the experience and hoping to make this a regular spot

A tiny piece of Thailand in a small spot in Roma. Overall it was a great experience, coming here we expected a long wait time and our first time around it was about an hour, second time was about 20 minutes. We tried the salad and the pork and they were both almost identical in taste to Thai food! The mango sticky rice was good too, they ran out the first time we visited but told us they had it at a bakery called Ficelle! We tried it there and our second time here. The service is excellent and even though you wait and eat standing up, the experience is totally worth it!

Waited in line for an hour only to get served mediocre overpriced food with small portions. The white rice was also dry and not fresh. Even if rice is a day old it would never taste that dry so they obviously made it wrong. I heard the stall is not being operated by the original owner anymore so not surprising because I'm pretty sure no Asian would have messed up something as simple as white rice. I think it got popular in social media recently but it just seems overrated. It's only impressive to those who've never tried good Thai food or much less Asian food.
