"While West Hollywood may be better known for its bars than its restaurants, Ladyhawk from Top Chef Middle East winner Charbel Hayek is making a case for the city. The restaurant, located in the upscale Kimpton La Peer Hotel, serves a menu that leans into Hayek’s Lebanese roots with a full mezze spread available with Lebanese olives, falafel, hummus, and more. Start by splitting the mezze before moving on to the shawarma skirt steak, seared halloumi, and za’atar man’oushe." - Rebecca Roland
"The ground-floor space at the Kimpton La Peer has a history as a revolving door for above-average hotel restaurants. The latest is Ladyhawk, a modern Lebanese spot that we’re hoping sticks around because it’s quite good. The colorful, Art Deco-y dining room is strikingly beautiful and ideal for impressing somebody whose entire personality is not being impressed. Plus, the menu is full of food that even the pickiest eater at your table will enjoy. The highlight is the $110 mezze platter, which arrives on a giant lazy susan, filled with nine kinds of dips and shmears, as well as falafel and warm, pillowy pita. It’s more than enough food for two, but if you want to explore the entrees, go for the grilled prawns or olive-crusted rack of lamb." - brant cox
"Lebanese-born chef Charbel Hayek incorporates California produce into Mediterranean fare at Ladyhawk, which opened in West Hollywood in late 2023. A fairly recent transplant to LA, the chef reimagined Ladyhawk’s stunning two-person mezze platter with riffs like an avocado and corn hummus served next to a remarkably creamy traditional version. The spread also includes baba ghanouj, muhammara, falafel, Lebanese olives, halloumi with summer tomatoes, spicy harissa wings, and something called “mama ghanouj” made with confit onions, charred zucchini, and lamb chorizo ragu. Another menu charmer is the ahi tuna crudo, an artfully presented dish that won Hayek first place on Season 2 of Top Chef Middle East in 2022. That crudo, along with herby and heaping salads, a dry-aged Rohan duck with honey and rose water, and a braised beef tagine are more of what makes this restaurant tucked inside the Kimpton La Peer Hotel one of LA’s standouts. — Mona Holmes, reporter, Eater Southern California/Southwest" - Rebecca Roland
"In 2023, chef Charbel Hayek installed a dazzling Lebanese-inspired menu that fits perfectly into the Kimpton La Peer hotel. His personal touches make Ladyhawk one of West Hollywood’s hottest restaurants. Everything is family-style, with some of his mother’s recipes appearing on the menu, including the fattoush salad, hummus, chicken, and tabbouli. The mezze platter with falafel, baba ghanoush, labneh, marinated olives, and tahini with fried cauliflower can easily feed two. This should be eaten immediately with the piping hot pita bread fermented for 48 hours." - Mona Holmes
