"Lagoon Amusement Park, one of the last family-owned amusement parks in the United States, may be small, but it still ensures all its guests feel welcome, including plant-based eaters. Those looking to stay away from meat can head to Teriyaki Stix, which serves vegetable stir-fry dishes, and Old Mill, which has vegetarian offerings on its grill menu, too." - Stacey Leasca

My husband and I have both been coming here since we were kids. So there is a lot of nostalgia when we come here. Our adult children also have enjoyed many experiences here. Even though we enjoy all the rides we grew up on, like Colossus and the wooden roller coaster, we also enjoy all the new rides like Wiked and Cannibal. This was our first time coming here since the new ride Primordial opened. It was a long line, and we waited over an hour to get on. It was a blast, a little roller coaster mixed with a 3D interactive video game. We also enjoyed eating in the Biergarten. The food there is much better than the regular carnival fare, but it's a little pricier too. We also like to wind down by walking around Pioneer Village, where it's a little quieter and laid back. All in all it's a great place to spend the day with family and friends and you can find something for everyone. We just usually run out of time to be able to see everything and do everything we want to do. Just wish it wasn't so expensive, but they have no competition for 100s of miles.

The real value from lagoon comes if you are a local and can purchase a season pass, even better on Black Friday. This allows you to go for a few hours at night where the lines are smaller. As many mention, the line hopping is annoying and happens even with adults. Unfortunately, most of the Lagoon team members don’t really show much interest in their job and avoid most interactions. We find the rides entertaining and enjoyable for all ages of our family. We’ve had great experiences and our children still want to get a season pass each year. It’s a wonderful place to help build childhood and family memories.

Went there on a Friday, some rides were a long wait but most of the wait times weren’t terrible. However, the line jumping that occurs at this park is one of the worst I’ve seen at a park. This also causes wait time to become longer. Some rides will give complimentary lockers for your stuff. Due to wait times we didn’t get back in time and it locked us out. We spoke to the ride attendant who was helpful and called someone to come help but weren’t told a time. Then spoke to another park employee who admitted the call was probably forgotten about and called again but also said it would be the ride supervisor who would need to help us. Still no one showed up. We then spoke to the ride attendant who again called. Found the ride supervisor who at first told us it was a different department but then finally did help us to open the locker. They have some good coasters but I don’t believe the admission price was worth it. I also didn’t realize they have animals you can view by taking the train. We just thought it was a train ride around the park but it goes through there area where they keep animals from lions, mountain lions, antelope, etc… However it was kinda sad seeing the animals. They didn’t seem to have much room and their enclosures were all concrete.

Overall this place is an absolute win… even if my 44 year old experience is different from the kids’. We went on a Friday, during summer vacation - most lines were at most 15 minutes. Some rides the kids got off and ran to the front to get right back on. Primordial was the longest line at exactly an hour. Much of the decor was old and could use a good cleaning or dusting, but that didn’t detract the fun. Pioneer Town was adorable and such a cool experience, especially for grandparents to walk slowly through for a cool down/ walk down memory lane. We and everyone else that rode Rattlesnake got absolutely soaked, like jumped in a pool fully clothed soaked. It was a welcome cool down on a 95 degree day, but if you’re wearing jeans and a button down shirt like many older men I saw, maybe steer clear. 🤣 They walked off the ride like soggy zombies. 14,13 and 9 year old loved all the rides and rode many of them several times. Every single ride made me sick. Motion sickness is one of my super powers and Lagoon brought out the best in me. Nausea, vertigo, headaches… I got it all. No issues whatsoever for the kids or my husband (also a big kid). Terroride has a thrill level of “low” and I about had a heart attack at the jump scares, so I guess that shows how well I handle this stuff. We stayed until the park closed and squeezed every drop of fun out of this place. We will be back!

My son rode the sky coaster today, and he said it was the best experience ever. And if you have a season pass, the x-venture rides are five dollars off, so that is a bonus for Lagoon season passes. And then on the new ride, Primordial (It was my first time) We waited over an hour and a half just because it kept on braking down. But other than that, it was an amazing day at the park. 👍

I just had the most amazing day here. Some highlights include: Little to no wait time I went on a week day and it wasn't very busy) Smoke and mirrors show Kind staff (so many happy faces who helped my day be amazing) Awesome rides (they have ride that will make you sick and rides that even grandma can ride in) Great food (it's an amusement park, foods expensive here) Nice locker rentals Grab bags. (LITERALY THE BEST THING THERE. They are so fun to open and they have amazing things inside them too)

I recently spent a whole day at Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, Utah, and it was absolutely fantastic! 🎢🎡 If you're into theme parks, this one should definitely be on your radar. First off, Lagoon is super accessible, just a short drive from Salt Lake City. We arrived early to beat the crowds, finding parking was straightforward, though I recommend splurging a bit for the closer spots—it saves a lot of walking, especially with kids in tow. The park layout is really intuitive, but we still grabbed a map. There’s a great mix of thrill rides, family-friendly attractions, and fun activities. For thrill-seekers, Cannibal and Wicked are must-rides. Cannibal has this jaw-dropping vertical lift and beyond-vertical drop that’s just insane—it definitely lived up to the hype! Wicked's launch is super intense, sending you vertically into the sky. Both are not for the faint-hearted, but that's what makes them so fun! For families, there's plenty to enjoy too. Our kids had a blast on the smaller rides in Kiddie Land, and there were lots of gentler coasters and attractions that everyone could ride together. The Ferris wheel gives a nice breather with stunning views of the park and surrounding mountains. One of the highlights was Lagoon A Beach, the water park section. We took a break from the scorching sun and spent a few hours cooling off on the slides and lazy river. Perfect for a hot summer day! I’d recommend bringing swimwear and towels; lockers are available, making it easy to store your stuff while you splash around. Lunchtime was easier than I anticipated. We found a variety of food options—burgers, pizza, salads, and even some healthier choices. Prices are standard for amusement parks but feel free to bring your own snacks and take advantage of the picnic areas outside the park for a more budget-friendly option. Don't miss out on Pioneer Village, where you get a glimpse of Utah’s history. It’s a charming throwback with old-timey buildings, blacksmith demos, and some interesting exhibits that give you a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the rides. Evening time was magical at Lagoon. The park is beautifully lit, and the lines tend to die down. We managed to squeeze in a few more rides without much waiting. Plus, the sunsets here are gorgeous, casting a glow over the whole park. A couple of pro tips: Wear comfortable shoes because you’ll do a lot of walking. Stay hydrated and use sunscreen, especially during the summer. And if you’re local or plan multiple visits, consider a season pass. It offers great value and some cool perks. All in all, Lagoon delivered an unforgettable day full of laughter, screams, and family bonding. Whether you're an adrenaline junkie or just looking for a fun family outing, this park has something for everyone. Highly recommend checking it out! 🌟👍 Hope this helps! Enjoy your trip to Lagoon! 🎢😊

Lagoon is a fun place to go. While the day pass is a little steep (being almost as much as a Disneyland one day pass) it's nice that they offer lots of Pavillions to sit and that you can can bring in your own food, snacks and drinks. The lines aren't too long for most rides, the longest line being their newest ride primordial. I suggest trying to ride that one layer in the day after the morning rush is over. 40 minutes or less is ideal to wait. Any longer than that is not worth it. The line is about 40 minutes from the umbrella where the employee sits out front. If it's past that, try again later. The rest of the rides are fun and quick to get on! No trip is complete without going on rattlesnake rapids to cool off. It's a guarantee you're gonna get wet! If you don't want your hair getting drenched bring a shower cap lol

Yelp
This is a FOOD review. Lagoon has a surprising array of food options in nine areas of the park. Plenty for the kids, of course, but some surprisingly good adult food as well. Many places in the park serve soft drinks, pretzels, cotton candy, churros, Icees, & soft serve ice milk or sorbet. Franchise-brand stands include Arby's, Subway, Teriyaki Stix, Zeppe's Italian Ice, Dippin' Dots, & Fiiz. They're reduced-menu, similar-quality versions of those outside Lagoon, but you don't get and can't spend loyalty points. * Biergarten * My favorite restaurant at Lagoon- European decor, cool in the Summer, clean, & often a respite from crowds & noise. Burgers come on a brioche roll, with a 1/3-pound, Angus beef hamburger patty, romaine lettuce, red onions, hothouse tomato slices, & depending on which one- cheddar or swiss cheese, huckleberry or apricot chipotle BBQ sauce, with horseradish mayo for the pastrami burger, optionally bacon. The battered fries & large onion rings are both amazing. The chicken schnitzel is one of the more unique dishes at Lagoon. A pounded & breaded tender chicken breast cutlet, deep fried to juicy texture with crispy, golden crust with rich mushroom gravy, served with a mayo-vinegar-based German potato salad with diced onions with celery seeds, dill & caroway, garnished with paprika. The Traditional Bratwurst is covered in sauerkraut & comes with house-made, gourmet-quality mustard. It's served on a split roll of fluffy white bread. The Classic Beer-Battered Fish & Chips has a white fish fillet with a light crust that is perfectly crispy but not greasy. The batter creates a golden covering for the tender, flaky fillet. The fries are battered as well, fried to perfection & are frankly one of the more crave-worthy items on the menu. The Summer Berry Salad includes mixed greens, goat cheese, red onions, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, pomegranate arils, pecans & pepitas with raspberry vinegarette on the side. The Wedge Salad comes with half a head of iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red onions, blue cheese crumbles & bacon. Both are fresh & refreshing on a hot day. There's a fried chicken chunk option, but it dominates the flavors. The Classic Club sandwich has a flaky croissant, turkey, bacon, mayo, lettuce & tomato & potato chips. It's what you'd expect, but I'd like it better with a slice of Swiss cheese & a little more meat. * Pioneer Village & Old Mill * Often less busy & quiet. Offers BBQ ribs & pork (sauce is bitter), roasted corn, coffee shop, soda shop, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, & Arby's. I recommend the tasty Navajo tacos- chili, cheese & lettuce & tomato on fried bread. * Carousel Plaza * Next to the antique carousel is a popular shady spot. I recommend the smothered burrito from the Carousel Plaza Cantina that offers a choice of ground beef, chicken, or pork, & also includes beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream, pico de gayo, & comes with enchilada sauce. I also recommend the guacamole, yum! It's not spicy. The chicken sandwich offers a lightly-battered chicken breast fillet served with spicy ranch sauce, pepper jack cheese, pickle slices, lettuce, & tomato on a brioche roll. A bit spicy, the chicken is both crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. The pizza's crust is precooked & the sauce tastes like it comes from a can or jar, but the mozzarella & pepperoni are decent quality. The kids will love it! * Coca-Cola Plaza * Near the fountains at the entrance, it offers pizza, pretzels, churros & funnel cakes. Funnel cakes are larger & denser than some. I'd recommend them w/o powdered sugar & either the non-dairy whipped topping and/or strawberry topping. They are easily large enough for two people. * Midway * The main north/south walkway containing carnival games & food stands. There are shakes, cinnamon rolls, candied apples, & cotton candy. The Gourmet Burgers & Gourmet Chicken at the north part of the Midway is good but not gourmet. The Southwestern Burger offers a 1/3 pound patty, cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato, sliced dill pickles, Southwestern fry sauce, & bacon. It's served with onion rings, including one on the burger. Tasty & filling, but if I chose between them, I'd go for the burgers at Biergarten. At BeaverTails, pastries are deep fried & covered with toppings. These are not fried bread, but thinner & crispier. I found them a bit oily, like a funnel cake, but not unpleasant. They do make a mess, so be ready with something to clean your hands. * North Area * Near the old Opera House, has a Subway & an Arby's. * South End * The Teriyaki Stix offers grilled Teriyaki chicken & steamed vegetables The chicken is tender & juicy, the vegetables are lightly steamed & crunchy- zucchini, yellow squash, shredded carrots & broccoli. The teriyaki sauce is not too sweet or heavy & gives a nice accent to the chicken & vegetables. Everything is served on a bed of steamed white rice. Have fun & don't miss the good stuff!

Yelp
Okay y'all... this was my first time ever coming here and I was impressed! My cousin was visiting me from out of town and I told her how this theme park was only 4.5 hours away from me and it looked pretty good online. We normally have a tradition of going to Disneyland in October and while we would have liked to have kept that tradition up... money was tighter this year so we decided to switch it up and check out Lagoon. Now, I will say, Lagoon is no Disney Parks or Universal Studios.. it's more of a watered down version of those bigger theme parks but we still had a blast!! We started with Cannibal which ended up being one of our favorite rides there....it was terrifying but so fun! Primoridal was also really awesome! All the roller coasters were great. We didn't check out any of the haunted houses but we did pay extra to do the seance show and that was super wild... scarier than the roller coasters ! It shocked us how great the special effects and acting was!!! We also got to watch the Nightmare Cabaret show which was also incredible !!! Lots of talented performers in their shows!! Food was also decent and reasonably priced throughout the park as were the souvenirs. I will definitely go again at some point and look forward to it !

Yelp
the park is great but i was riding jet star and the buckle came undone I told them about it they did not care the food takes forever they should definitely add speed pass like lines the line for primordial is soo long when I went to ride the line was 5 hours if I could I would give the park 1.5 stars

Misty H.

Yelp
Always a great time!! However the season pass is getting out of hand. This isn't Disneyland or universal. I buy they for my family every year but my husband doesn't ride he rides. I wish they had a no ride pass he's in his mid 60's and wants to see the grandkids but doesn't ride the rides. I just wish they wouldn't raise the prices $15+ each year. However frightmares and lagoona beach are fun.

Yelp
Went there on a Friday, some rides were a long wait but most of the wait times weren't terrible. However, the line jumping that occurs at this park is one of the worst I've seen at a park. Yelp
As a kid, I loved Lagoon, but the animals always made me very sad. As an adult, realizing how miserable they must been in their sad, tiny, concrete enclosures, I refuse to support it. I would love to go back if they ever remove the animals, but it doesn't seem like they have any intention of being decent human beings. Absolutely shameful.

Tripp M.

Yelp
This is one of the best amusement park out here and the only one out here. Beautiful background with the mountain behind the park the rides maintained really good and the history behind lagoon too. If you want to go to the oldest theme park in the west side of the USA this is the park you are looking for

Erin J.

Yelp
We get passes every year. Is it worth it?! Heck yes it is! Your pass is paid for after just two visits, so you are basically going for free the rest of the summer and fall. Some downfalls (which is why I only gave 3 stars): -if you don't have a pass, you can't ride. Seems reasonable until you bring your 1 year old and realize they can't ride anything but the carousel and a few kiddie rides. But if they don't have a pass, they can't ride. Two and under should be free. -my adult pass is the same price as my two year olds. That's dumb! So dumb. Why am I paying the same price for me as I am my two-year-old when my two-year-old can only ride a handful of rides and I can ride pretty much every ride in the park? They should have adult passes and children passes. An example: kids under 48 inches should be cheaper because that eliminates all of the coasters. Seems like a simple concept. -for the love of Pete, get rid of all the animals. It's so sad that they keep on concrete in these tiny little cages. No fun for anyone to see the animals that way. The way they are treated is horrendous. -the smoking sections are a JOKE! They are not secluded enough, so I can smell the smoke everywhere. Drives me crazy. As I'm waiting in line at the carousel with my two yr old, only 50 feel away is one of the smoking sections. Gives me a headache every time. They need to change this because it's like this everywhere in the park. I love Lagoon. I do. It's fun for my family and I to get passes every year. However, there are some changes that need to be made, in my opinion.

Erik D.

Yelp
Lagoon finally opened Primordial! Because we had expectations for a long line- we were the first to arrive at the park entrance, 9:00AM Lagoon opened the park entrance gates at 9:30. We walked towards the north area of the park to find that it had been roped off with a sign saying area closed. With the area roped off, our efforts to arrive early were wasted as a massive crowd began to form all across the roped off area, with no way to ensure that those who had arrived early would be first to enter the north area. At the roped off area was also a group of park security officers who spoke to the park guests like a group of middle schoolers, lecturing everyone about their reasoning for blocking off the north area of the park. The condescending and entitled attitudes of the security made the experience even more frustrating. A little after 10:00am the park security guards dropped the rope opening up the north area of the park, and the mob of guests that lagoon inadvertently formed by blocking off the north area of the park, dispersed like a slow thick river chaotically spewing towards primordial. The crowd bottlenecked in narrow pathways, and I watched as families were separated in the masses. I was so unimpressed by the way lagoon had prepared for crowd managment, and their efforts to increase safety seemed to make the situation worse. I left the park disappointed and feeling like our efforts arrive early were a waste! We could have easily entered the park and filed into the actual line area of primordial much easier. As for the ride experience, the guest interaction was unique to other park attractions, and comes with a fun surprise near the end, but Primordial fails to sell the ride's story... as guests are thrown into the ride with little description of what they're about to experience, or what the world of primordial entails. Though our wait in line ended up being around 25 minutes, most groups will stand in line for 2-3 hours. This wait would not have been worth the actual ride experience.

Jason L.

Yelp
Had fun at Lagoon for the first time this season. I'm telling you there is something about this place that makes you want to eat all the things. Today we had chicken tenders and they hit different at the park for sure. The fish and chips were pretty darn good. Let's just say the beer was fire. Love the lagoonabier from a local brewery.

Teuila G.

Yelp
We planned this visit to Lagoon on this family trip to Utah for my uncle's retirement from Southwest and my little cousin's graduation/becoming a Marine. My dad has a lot of family in Utah. I have very fond memories from Summers with my cousins here, and it was nostalgic coming back as an adult with my family. The weather was perfect for an October day in Utah. It actually got hot enough I wished I had a short sleeve t-shirt on. Our kids had a great time and got a few scares in at the haunted houses. It's not as big as I remember, but I was a preteen when I was last here. I was happy to see my kids be happy again, even if it was just for a few hours. We had lunch in the beer garden and let the kids do a few more rides and one last haunted house before everything closed down. I was very pregnant, so I wasn't able to go on any rides, but I can't wait to go back so I can outride these kids on the Rollercoasters.

Yelp
Animal cruelty at its worst!!!! I went with my family yesterday. We were having such a great time. I was even going to purchase season passes for the family next season. But then we got on the train..... you wouldn't know unless you ride this particular ride, but Lagoon has a "zoo" that the train rides past. This is where it went downhill for me. The animals are so terribly taken care of. They have small concrete enclosures with no vegetation at all. Not to mention they all look so sickly. And all the loud noises that come with an amusement park that they are surrounded by. Seeing the way these animals are treated has completely broken my heart. I cannot believe that nothing has been done about this yet. I also can't believe how many people ride this ride and don't even care. I have done some research and it seems that lagoon has been fined multiple times for this, but continue to do nothing about it. Also heard that they keep them so they can claim having a "zoo" for tax break purposes. Absolutely disgusting!!! People have even tried to reach out to the owner and his reply is always disturbing claiming the animals have no feelings and that people are not qualified to state the animals are living in inhumane conditions. At $100 a ticket.... It is safe to say that lagoon does pretty well financially. They could easily fix the habitats these poor animals are living in but refuse to. I can't help but think what can I do to help these poor animals. First.. I will not be visiting lagoon again until this has been resolved properly. I also will share with everyone I know this concern for these beautiful animals. I can only ask if others will leave reviews as well and stand behind not supporting this type of cruelty. We know better. Lagoon knows better and should do better. We should all do better!!!

Hayley G.

Yelp
I came to visit last summer in hopes of something fun for the day. I'm an amusement park fanatic. I feel that this place does not use their profit to place it back into the park. Most rides seemed very outdated, old, or didn't work. I would recommend for children 12 and under, not sure how much fun adults and teens can have in the amusement park side. I was unable to go to the water park area.

Meli A.

Yelp
The park itself is a lot of fun but when I toon the train ride to see the zoo animals, it was one of the most depressing things I have ever experienced. Those poor animals are in small spaces and have no real shelter or good quality of life. It's so hot here in Utah and with no real shade or comfy grass for them. I almost lost it when I saw a sad camel lying down on concrete. I want to report this to PETA and whatever organizations out there to repatriate every animal to be safer in a more humane environment.

Abby H.

Yelp
I've been coming to Lagoon every year for the past 8 years. I love that there is something close by that I can take my kids to. The rides are fun, the lines are never more than a half an hour and there is enough to do to fill your day. My complaints are for the price. Every year the prices go up more and more. Not only do season passes get more expensive, but the parking passes also go up in price. It's definitely not worth the price they ask for, but there is nothing else to do around here. The food is also crazy expensive. The only thing worth your money is the food at the beirgarten. It is also expensive but you get a lot of food.

Evelia G.

Yelp
lagoon is ok. it would have been better if i didn't go on cannibal while being sick primordial wait time was at least 2 hours

P T.

Yelp
I'd just like to add that Lagoon also exploits people. They actually did an investigative report on it showing how Lagoon jacks up the prices since there is no competition. Also adding the email correspondence from the "President".

Kelbi M.

Yelp
The place is so nice love the nature and the rides the people are nice and the food and everything is expensive I was there and got 2 icees for $17 it was literally supposed to be $10 don't get icees here but everything else was fun I love the churros really recommend that also I really recommend the ride cannibal

Taylor S.

Yelp
Lagoon is an amazing and wonderful family-owned amusement park with some thrilling and unique roller coasters. Out of these, the most noteworthy coasters are Cannibal, Wicked, and the classic Roller Coaster. Cannibal starts out with an elevator lift up to the top of its hill. This is followed by a beyond-vertical drop and a series of loops and inversions. Then, you go into a series of brakes before you begin the Lagoon roll over a pond. And after this roll, you proceed to go down, accelerating while going in circles around this pond, before you go through a cave underneath the pond and get mildly misted before going into the station. This coaster was designed in-house, and is unlike anything else in the United States. Wicked starts with a launch over a tall hill, but unlike most launch coasters, it does not end there. Instead, this is followed by a full course of hills, inversions, and turns. This makes for a very fun ride. Roller Coaster is a classic wooden coaster that happily remains relatively smooth, thrilling, and full of airtime despite its age. Lagoon also has an excellent restaurant in Biergarten. I had their fish and chips. The fish was nicely breaded and served with good sauces, and the portions of fries were generous. And last, but not least, Lagoon has an excellent park atmosphere full of shade trees, fountains, and a large kids area full of mild rides and kids and family coasters for the smaller kids, a water park, two dark rides, and an historical Pioneer Village with a hidden rapids ride so everyone can have fun here. In short, Lagoon is an amazing and wonderful park with unique coasters and I strongly recommend it.

Eli A.

Yelp
The rides were fun and for the most part didn't have to wait too long for the rides. I would recommend for a fun time out with the fam. Just DONT go on primordial if there is a long line you will die

Melissa C.

Yelp
Lagoon is such a fun place to have fun as a family. Today was busy but the lines were still super manageable. The trick-or-treat street was so much fun.

Angela L.

Yelp
Water should not be 4 dollars. Not even Coachella allows those prices. Water should ben1'or 2 dollars for a bottle.

Cameron G.

Yelp
Overcrowded and overpriced. Roller coasters didn't open for two hours due to wind. They shut down the Cannibal after waiting in line for 50 minutes. Wait time for Primordial was 2 hours.

Gemini U.

Yelp
Who doesn't love going to amusement parks.  We are lucky to have one within a short distance from downtown. I've seen so many changes here (for the better) all the way back to when you had to buy individual tickets for the rides to the very expensive day pass. Which Is better than having to worry about individual tickets. Did you know that Lagoon was once a venue for concerts with the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and many others. Why oh Why didn't my parents take me back then? Why? Because my mamma don't dance and my daddy don't rock n roll. Now a days there are a lot of thrill seeking rides for both adults, and children along with different themes throughout the park. Check out going back in time at Pioneer Village, or Swimming with Sharks, just kidding, they do have a nice aquatic area for those of you who like to swim. Freightmares during Halloween season. Which was my first time going this year.  To get the most out of the park, I would by a season pass so you don't have to rush around trying to get on all the rides in on one day. Lagoon is very family friendly so bring everyone... even the little tots. I do miss seeing the old rickety, scary, WHITE rollercoaster from the freeway. You knew you were coming up on Lagoon and a day full of fun and adventure.  Somehow the Brown one isn't the same.

Yelp
It's so dang hot!!!! But the time spent here at lagoon is amazing!!!! Brings me back to my childhood days enjoying this great amusement park!!! Yes it is busy even on Sunday so be prepared to stand in line. But it is worth the wait the rides are amazing and so much fun! This is a place where you make memories and not live on dreams!

Yolanda Y.

Yelp
Pros: we went there during weekday no rides over 30 mins wait except for fire dragon cannibal and cliffhanger during hot afternoon This is definitely a small Disneyland for kids in Utah, (single day pass is close to Disney though) If your kids love rides only not themes or Disney story then this place offers great experiences with no worries about paid fast pass. Cons and tips Cliffhanger and dragonfly and probably trains are only on 50% capacity, not sure why the other cart/row is closed/not operating Even worse like what others mentioned, the operator don't even try to fill up all the seats, I see 30% vacancy with at least 20 mins wait for dragonfly. Wicked is doing good, they have single riders line. Don't buy drinks from vending machine!!!! $4 per bottle and They are hot! Not even chilled a little bit All rides close at around 845-9 even the park said closes at 10pm 9-10pm is for you to stuck in parking lot struggling getting out Go to other McDonald's not the closest one if you hungry after park closed--super crowded.

Yelp
It's a decent amusement park. I'm glad Utah at least has one. It's pretty big. They have a lot of rides and they have a great kid area with lots of kid rides. Frightmares is fun during September/October. Giving it 4 stars for a few reasons, it's getting way overpriced for what it is. For not much more you could get a day ticket to Disneyland which I would definitely rather. If something breaks on a ride, they will take forever to fix it or they won't fix it at all. If something breaks at Disneyland, they will close a ride to fix it right then. Lagoon doesn't care. A lot of the time, you'll be waiting in line for a ride and you'll see a bunch of empty seats, why wouldn't they make sure to fill every seat? Especially when the lines can be long. Disneyland makes sure to fill every seat.

Yelp
Our family always has a good time here. We didn't get season passes this summer, but since my daughter is an employee, we each got in for $29. We spent the day here on Sunday and had plenty of time to go on all the rides we wanted to. I was able to get my 7-year-old daughter to go on the Colossus with me! The food is definitely on the pricey side. We all decided to get churros for $4 to tie us over until we could get home for dinner. It was around $11 to get a burger....that's just crazy. We didn't do any of the children's Frightmares activities until about 6:30 when the line died down. I regret that because they didn't have any candy left. You could tell that some of the employees were definitely done being there (and I don't blame them). Unfortunately they have to work long hours (I'm not sure if I'll let my daughter work here again). The sky ride is always terrifying for me, but it was a good way to see some of the Frightmares show. It just gives me anxiety when I see teenagers scooting their butts of the seat and stretching their legs down trying to reach the tops of the trees. There's not a whole lot lagoon can do about other people's stupidity though. Whoever was operating the Jumping Dragon ride on 9/19 needs a raise! He was so awesome and made the ride that much more fun! The lady working the Tipsy Tea Cups that night also needs a raise. She was super sweet each time we rode the ride. It ended up being my daughter's favorite. My favorite is the Cannibal, but Colossus will always have my heart :)

Yelp
Some of my all-time favorite childhood memories are at Lagoon. Every year, my father's employer had an Employee Appreciation Day at Lagoon and every year, I looked forward to enjoying all of the rides. As the years went on, the ticket prices got higher and higher (much more so than average inflation rates). The wait times got longer and longer (gone are the days of riding Colossus five times in a row). And the magic slowly died out (yes yes, I've gotten older too but we don't want to talk about that haha). PRICES: Prices are up to about $100/person, plus parking at $20/vehicle. They've gotten away with these price increases since there's no other similar amusement parks nearby. But that doesn't mean there aren't other ways for families to have fun while spending less money. Families could have just as much fun going to Thanksgiving Point, Wheeler Farm, Cowabunga Bay, Clark Planetarium, Round One, Boonducks, Rush Funplex, etc. The counterpoint to this is the season passes. If you compare today's season pass price ($200) to today's ticket price ($100), it seems reasonable (ie go twice in a season and anything more than that is "free"). But if you're going to spend $200 per person anyway, you may as well spend a bit more to drive your family to Disneyland and have a much nicer experience. WAIT TIMES: Lagoon doesn't limit how many people enter the amusement park and shockingly, there are no ticket systems or fast pass options for their main attractions. The newest ride, Primordial, has led to 3-4 HOUR wait times based on recent reviews. The thought that someone could spend $100 where half of the day is spent waiting in line for a single ride is infuriating. Even for the rides that have been around for a while (Rattlesnake Rapids, Cannibal, Wicked, etc), it wouldn't be surprising for weekend wait times to be over an hour. EXOTIC ANIMALS: They need to get rid of the exotic animals and allow them to be relocated to the various animal sanctuaries that have offered and pleaded to take them away from the horrendous living conditions in the park. The Wild Kingdom Train is depressing, and for no good reason. I truly don't understand why Lagoon insists on keeping these animals. They've already received so much backlash and negative PR. It's despicable. You can have a nice train ride through the park without housing animals in such poor conditions. Lagoon has published comments about how well the animals are taken care of, but you can literally see the tiny cement cages from the train so they aren't fooling anyone. Certainly, these animals would be much happier and healthier at an animal sanctuary. COMMUNICATION: Lagoon really dropped the ball when it came to communicating the opening of their newest ride, Primordial. Anecdotally, I know of many people who bought a season pass this year because Lagoon was advertising that Primordial would finally open this season...only for it to open mere weeks before the end of the season. This has left a sour taste in many season pass-holders' mouths and could have been executed much better. Obviously, construction of any kind is hard to predict and it's better to be safe than to rush a ride's construction- we can all understand that. But the issue here was that Lagoon gave the impression that Primordial would open much sooner than it did, seemingly in an attempt to boost season pass sales. SAVING GRACES: -The bigger coasters and rides (Cannibal, Wicked, Rocket, Rattlesnake Rapids, Primordial) are an absolute blast and do compare well to larger amusement parks' offerings out of state. Cannibal in particular is one of the steepest beyond-vertical drops in the world at 116 degrees. -Lagoon also allows outdoor food and drinks which is quite unique for an amusement park and can save families a lot of money otherwise spent on mediocre overpriced food. -Frightmares is done quite well especially for younger kids- there's trick or treating areas throughout the park, various Halloween decor, cute hay maze through Pioneer Village, haunted houses of varying scare levels, and the bonus is that ride lines tend to be much shorter than in the summer. -The new-ish Biergarten area is a fantastic addition to the park and has a variety of local beers on tap with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
Did a quick visit with the kids during our vacation. Place has a lot of games and rides. Lines were not bad on a Monday during summer vacation. Food we tried was great -- chicken and fries. The place is clean and organized. Kids did have a lot of fun. What I enjoyed about it, the place wasn't complicated or intimidating considering we are from out of state. Water park was closed during our visit. Note: We were able to bring in some snacks and bottled water. They also have drinking fountains.

Yelp
Always a great time at lagoon. Rides are fun and I love frightmares but the prices are just getting to be to the point where it is not worth the price anymore. Makes me sad.

Yelp
It's not all a wash so I will leave a two star rating however the safety risk my child was placed in definitely warrants a red flag warning to others. The response from Loni the Skyride attendant warrants perhaps a greater concern. To address the first issue...our 7 year old daughter was cleared to ride the skyrider with her 12 year old brother. She struggles getting on the moving seat as such, her brother hopped off to assist her. No staff member helped her or him. The attendant running the ride was being shouted at by at least two other workers to stop the ride. She continued to secure the metal belt on the lift, without my son on it. Other workers continued to shout for the worker to stop the ride again. She ignored. There goes my 7 year old alone on this ride which is not meeting regulations for the ride. She cried in hysterics out of fear the entire ride. Her brother holding on tight in the seat behind her worrying like crazy. And as the parents, in a seat behind them, we tried and tried to yell and assure her she is okay. We tried yelling at her brother to assure her she is okay. This was unreal. Before getting to the other side, the ride stops for a bit. We then hope that they will also do the same for our daughter and console her and check on her. ABSOLUTELY NOT! Her brother couldn't wait to get off and run to her to comfort her and us as parents as well. We inquired with Ms. Loni as to how this could have happened. We were treated with such blatant disregard and mockery and immaturity by this employee. She simply brushed us off stating it is not her area and the ride doesn't stop. We asked to talk to a supervisor...she shooed us away and told us we could go find one. I asserted that we would like to wait here and asked if she had the ability of contacting a supervisor. At this time she waved over supervisor Ty who was just yards away. He talks with us briefly and says he will talk with staff on both sides of the ride. We asked if we could be contacted to be updated on the resolve and he stated we couldn't be. He said for any further discussion, we need to approach guest services. Next step...guest services. We share our experience and the employee there states that he will share this with the park manager and asked for our contact info yet stated it is not likely we will hear from anyone. He then offered two free sodas, and two free passes to the front of the line on two rides. What the heck? Wasn't it just last year or maybe the year prior that someone passed away on that ride? I understand there may have been other circumstances then and age differences. But today, it was my 7 year old daughter and it was an avoidable situation. Rules and regulations are set for rides for a reason. Lagoon staff, you put my daughter in harms way. You also have staff that made a mockery of her and her concerned parents. I am quite discouraged by this behavior. Mistakes happen. Accountability goes a long way. Blatant mistreatment should not be tolerated and I for one won't be quiet about this and I will pursue avenues necessary to ensure this is handled.

Yelp
Lagoon has brought me and my entire family so much happiness. Every year we are so excited to go and spend the whole day there. So many fun rides and there is also a ton a kiddie rides for when you bring your children who are a bit on the younger side. Great food, Great Rides, and overall is an amazing experience. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
An employee told me I wasn't allowed to get my vape from the corner of the ride. It was stopped but she has procedures so I followed them until closing. I went to the ride after close and she ran back when my vape in her possession telling me I couldn't get it back. It wasn't until I accused her off stealing and another worker to get my vape back. Not too mention the teenager working the rides got us stuck on primordial and didn't notice for 20 minutes. Dint go here unless you wanna get stolen from or have shit workers that don't know what theory doing. FUCK YOU KARLY

Yelp
Definitely recommend the Rattlesnake Rapids and log flume. Rattlesnake Rapids will get you super wet from head to toe because of the waterfall in the picture. They sometimes turn off the waterfall, which means you will only get a little wet and a water proof jacket should be enough

Yelp
Lagoon amusement park is a gem. There is not an amusement park at this scale in any of the neighboring states. It's wonderful to have something this close. Especially considering they have to be closed in the winter. They have lots of rides for different audiences. Lagoon is worth checking out and it's gotten even better throughout the years. You can bring a water bottle and any of the restaurants will fill it up for free with water and ice. There's not a lot of shade so that's the way to go.

Erika D.

Yelp
This place costs more and offers less. I could spend a week at Disney for less per day. They have made it more difficult to do anything, half the rides are closed, and the services are reduced. It really is a waste of my money and this is the last year we will buy season tickets.

Yelp
Lagoon has been a nostalgic family fun spot all my life in Utah. A great place to go during the summer or fall for a day of fun. They offer a variety of rides for the whole family and different activates and games when you need a break from all the rides. There is a water park located in the center and some parks to relax and enjoy a picnic. They have food you'd expect to be at a carnival, all sorts of fried things and caramel apples and ice cream. They built the new dinning hall and beer garden if you want something a bit fresher, everything is pricey than outside the park, as to be expected with an amusement park. It's normally pretty busy but with so many ride options lines don't take very long. The worst part about Lagoon is the "Zoo" that does NOT need to exist. The animals all look so sad and mistreated, I wish Lagoon would donate the animals to a sanctuary and remove that part of the park.

Yelp
Love the park. Amazing rides. Maybe add dryer things next to rattlesnake rapids to dry yourself off.

Yelp
You can't say you're a real Utahn until you have experienced Lagoon, it may not be much to some but it's all we have for a real Amusement Park here. The prices have certainly skyrocketed over the last few years but if wait until Black Friday they run promotions on Annual Park and Parking Passes so it's worth it to wait if you can. The biggest and best ride for thrill seekers is hands-down Cannibal but there are several other notable mentions like Samurai and Wicked. There is a decent selection of rides for your tiny humans too. Overall Lagoon is a good time and a fun way to spend the day with family too.

Yelp
First let me start by saying I understand that Lagoon is a for profit, money making enterprise. We have been going there intermittently for years, as it's close and we've always had a pretty decent time there. This trip to Lagoon, though, wasn't stellar, and I likely won't be visiting there again. Like I said, I understand the costs of everything have gone up, but the $100 a day price tag is almost Disney expensive for a day at the park. But let's even look past the price tag and go to the nuts and bolts of why Lagoon is no longer going to be a place where I will be spending any of my money. I'm going to start with the final annoyance, as it was the biggest problem we've had there - the lack of being able to use our cell phones. I understand the sheer amount of people cause the cell phones to have issues, but not being able to contact the other members of our party caused a huge issue. Part of us left the park, and the other part of our group got stranded due to a vehicle issue. They weren't able to call us, even from the parking lot, and were told that they needed to use the pay phone. Ok fine ... but the rates weren't posted, and the phone, owned presumably by Lagoon, cost $34 for a 1.5 MINUTE phone call. That's more than we pay for the cell phone line of service for an entire month. This wasn't even known until it posted to the required credit card two days later. This is robbery ... pure and simple, and Lagoon should be ashamed of themselves. Especially when a person with three small children is unable to even use the a phone. And again, I understand that it's a money making venture, but the sheer amount of people in the park is ridiculous. 3 hour lines for rides? $4 for a bottle of water? Rides in disrepair and or not running at full capacity. Kids who aren't even old enough to drive running the rides? Lagoon needs to learn how to take care of their customer base. I won't be back.

Yelp
I very scary by roller coaster but my heart attack and I fear roller coaster because my heart attack was very high

Yelp
Great place for all ages. Was happy to get the season pass last year at the urging of friends before my 1st ever visit. Got the pass again this year during the annual Black Friday sale thanks to the heads-up from friends. Best value for sure.

Yelp
Lagoon what can I say other than this is an awesome park and super solid family park that really does have something for everyone! Coming here I didn't really know what I would find other than a few straight up bucket list coasters but what I found here was nothing short of taking me by surprise as this park is definitely a very good size with many rides a few coasters and a great collection of flat rides as well as some very educational walk through museum type attractions! Pretty much I came here to ride cannibal as that is such a unique coaster with it's elevator that takes you up to the top to the beyond vertical drop it's just amazing and very unique this coaster is beyond awesome and something that I look to ride again! The museums were something that were totally awesome too as there was a good assortment of different ones each one with their own theme and objects inside! They also have a waterpark inside it looked to be decent size and super fun from what I saw I didn't visit but I did walk through it and was definitely impressed with what I saw. On this visit I also noticed a big structure starting to take shape on the far back right side of the park and from what I can see it's definitely going to be a new coaster of some sorts as it seems they don't short themselves on the themes of them here so this is definitely something to look forward to! Overall this was a super fun and just awesome park in general and definitely a park that I will try to visit again at some point in the not so distant future because they have it going on!

Yelp
Went to lagoon, very crowded. The reason crowded is all the rides closed. I counted 18 rides. I started taking pictures once I noticed how many rides where closed. I don't care if you have labor shortage, if you close half the rides then we should have a discount. They say it is all COVID protocol, that is a lie. If you let thousands of people in yet close down half the rides, making lines longer and now distancing. I have been season ticket holder now for 15 years, every year has gotten worse. However this year was just the straw. It is not worth it. I feel bad for the people who show up and pay the $65 ticket price. Then the find out half the rides are closed and the other rides have 60 min wait.

Rhett T.

Yelp
Definitely not worth the cost for such a small park, but I'll say the food and rides were decent, though not enough to sway my rating. The animal exhibit along the train is beyond depressing and frankly looks like animal abuse. Just look at the plethora of pictures other people have posted, they aren't an exaggeration. I won't even consider coming back until that animal exhibit is permanently closed. Also your train sounds like a screeching banshee when it comes into the station. Is it too much to ask for a little maintenance to save your guests' ears? Or does the train ride need to hurt you in more ways than one?

Andy H.

Yelp
$90/ticket, then they charge $18 to park. With a carload of 4 paying customers, this is absurd. Several rides and water park closed. Other rides running at limited capacity. Long lines everywhere. It's awful. Don't go.

MrBucketlist S.

Yelp
This park was simply amazing and also underrated. I go to theme parks all over the world and I live in Orlando so I have a very high standard which is comes to amusement parks. The variety and size of this park is just about perfect. Also it has a good mix of feeling like a fair and amusement park. They also allow outside food and coolers and have ample areas to eat and enjoy your meals. It's mind blowing how this park rarely gets talked about. Cannibal is also one of the best rides I've ever been on. I did a full tour and review just search Lagoon MrBucketlist on Youtube to see everything at this park. Enjoy!
