Lahmaju House - Review - North Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Located inside a North Hollywood strip mall, Lahmaju House is an Armenian bakery where you can pick up potato perashki from a hot case and order freshly baked mini lahmajun that’s in and out of the oven within five minutes. This place doesn’t necessarily make our favorite lahmajun in town (the crust is a little too cracker-like), but both the lamb and beef toppings have a tomato-y tang and unexpected spice kick. If you’re in the area and need a quick snack, Lahmaju House is a solid option. Food Rundown photo credit: Sylvio Martins Potato Perashki A potato-stuffed bun is as heavy as it sounds, but this is our favorite treat to get at Lahmaju House. There’s a lot of great stuff happening in the texture department: crispy, bubbly fried crust, fluffy inside, and a delicious tomato-y mashed potato filling that sticks to the roof of your mouth. photo credit: Sylvio Martins Lamb and Cheese Lahmajun The flavorful, slightly spicy lamb topping is almost delicious enough to make you forget the underwhelming flatbread. A solid snack overall. The cheese is nice, but feel free to order without—it doesn’t add much. photo credit: Sylvio Martins Beef Lahmajun This is pretty much the same thing as the lamb version, minus lamb’s subtle gaminess." - Sylvio Martins

Taste good, but never saw so little meat in a lahmajoun, too bad.

At 1:49pm, I ordered 4 adjarski, 16 potato perashki, 12 lahmajun and by 2:30pm everything was ready for pickup. The food is amazing. I am not someone who likes lahmajun but I ordered it 2 days in a row because it's amazing. The food is not overly salty, perfectly seasoned, very fresh ingredients, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place.

One of the best places with Caucasian cuisine, georgian and armenian dishes is the same as we ate in their native countries!

Yelp
Professional service, super clean and airy, crispy lahmajun bread. Everything tasted great but my regular Go-To is their mushroom & cheese one! You can see from the picture how airy & flaky it is. I'm personally not a fan of the meat filled ones but recommend you to eat on the spot. It tends to get soft when it's take out. Each lahmajun is about $2.50/$3

Yelp
My friend brought some lahmaju to my house a few days ago and we liked it. So today I decided to go and buy lahmaju cause my son was craving it. It's a small bakery selling lahmaju, perashki, khachapuri and a few other things. They have some seating area if you want to eat there, I actually prefer to eat the lahmaju right away cause it's crispier and tastes much better. But we had to take it home this time. It was still good once we got home, so we enjoyed our lunch. It's delicious .... I haven't tried anything else from this bakery but I'll be back soon to do that cause I live very close by. Customer service is ok, parking can be a bit challenging. Overall a great place to get freshly baked food. I recommend you call ahead and place an order or you will wait a long time to get your lahmaju. That's what happened to me.

Yelp
If you're looking for some delicious lahmaju in the valley.... This is your place!! Lahmaju house serves fresh and tasty lahmaju! My personal favorite is the lahmaju with cheese! One word... delicious! Such a creative twist to a classic meal! Love the crispy edges and perfectly seasoned meat. We've also tried their ponchiks which are equally delicious.

Yelp
Until today I have relied on the handful of perfectly satisfactory lahmajoun spots in Hollywood and had never ventured out of my routine to explore other options. Recently I've been in a position that requires me to drive from the Hollywood area to the Van Nuys area a few times a week, and I spotted this tiny storefront on one of these drives. It took me a couple of more drive-bys to find it again, and I was curious and sort of excited to stop in. To begin with, I was pleasantly surprised that they were still open and welcoming at 5 pm! Once I stepped inside my first thought was that the shop was so lovely and bright that it couldn't possibly be as authentic as the somewhat dingy, serious looking spots I was used to in Hollywood. Next, I was warmly greeted by a young man named Vako , another red flag, initially, because it would be a strtch to say I've ever received "warmth" from any employee or owner from my usual "go-to" Lahmajoun places, therefor I've always just considered it normal to expect no personal connections when buying lahmajouns:) Not only was I wrong about not measuring up in authenticity, but the superior taste and quality of the lahmajoun at Lahmajo House, and the amazing attitude of Vako will have me stopping here often. In fact it is now going to be my new "go-to" 100%! Oh, and don't be confused by the spelling of the name of this shop....there are many ways to spell lahmajoun, I learned today from Vako , but there could only one way to make them this delicious! Their way!

Yelp
Just wow! I live around the area and I drive past this place on Saturday night while I was driving on my way somewhere. I traveled to Lebonon and went to the Armenian neighborhood to try some Lahmaju that they were known for and I was in love with the dish. So I had to try this spot. Literally went in an hour ago, ordered beef lahmaju and another one with cheese and some chicken mushroom cheese spinach wrap and baklava. Holy moly everything was so good!!!! Lahmaju are freshly baked to order and everything else seemed it was made that morning. I am seriously contemplating going back later for dinner that's how good it was. Writing this review literally when I smashed every item and I forgot to snap a pic of the items. Also the baklava, wow! I been to Jordan, Lebonon and Turkey but this spot holds up to them, may be even better. Not too sweet and texture is nice and also smoked nuts on top add a nice flavor to it. It's crack. I can't wait to grab some more. Definitely new business and service is nice as you can tell its family ran. Also other customers were there telling me they drove 10 miles just to eat their Lahmaju. With all the Armenian restaurants and bakery in the area, this one's my go to.

Yelp
I've had Georgian food once in my life at a friends birthday party, and remembered it being delicious. So I decided to pop in to grab a bite for lunch. The gentleman was a great help despite my poor ability to order what I was looking for. I got a cheese filled Khachapuri. He advised me to order in advance next time so I don't have to wait, but gave me sample Perashki. He didn't have to do that but it was greatly appreciated. Both were amazing and I will definitely be ordering again in the future. Wonderful tasting food and great service.

Yelp
Let's start out with the couple that own this place and run it. They are so friendly and have great conversation while getting your delicious food ready. It would be wise to order ahead. It does take up to 25 to 30 minutes for them to prepare the food, fresh and hot to you, also you can always ask for them to put a little more spice in the lamajun if you'd like things, a little spicier. The flavor is out of this world everything taste homemade and I haven't eaten anything yet. That wasn't delicious. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Trust me you will be back. I know I will.

Yelp
This place has some of the best lahmaju I have ever had. Crunchy and made fresh, they also have other Armenian and Eastern European baked foods that hit the spot. The service is great and the workers are friendly. Small place but the seating is very comfortable! Would definitely be coming here multiple times a week if I still lived in the area.
