Lalola de Javi Abascal

"Given its location in the 18C One Shot Palacio Conde de Torrejón hotel, this restaurant in Seville’s historic centre is easy to find. The restaurant, which has its own entrance to the side of the building and has its main dining room on a covered patio, is run by a chef who prepares traditional cuisine with a contemporary touch. Most of the dishes, available either à la carte or on an interesting tasting menu (prior booking is required for the latter), feature Iberian pork from the Sierra de Huelva, and excellent beef and wild game." - Michelin Inspector

Tried the tasting menu for 65€/per person. The flavors were good, but in my opinion the price not justifiable. For 65€ all four of us could (and did the next day at another restaurant!) eat very well with sharing plates. We were sat in a private room which was far too quiet and fell totally secluded from the actual dinning area of the restaurant. This may be what some people prefer, but it was a bit sterile and lacking warmth. The service was great, not the best explanation of the courses in broken English. Bread great. Portion sizes were microscopic. Albeit 10 microscopic courses, we left not hungry but not full either. A bit strange. Again, nice but not worth the price. Better to just eat off the actual menu in the actual normal restaurant.

Tried tasting menu for lunch. Plus for attentive service and explanations of dishes. Venue doesn’t feel right due to the moveable walls separating restaurant from rest of hotel. The main courses were good(!), but not exceptional. The starters and desserts did not impress me very much. Bread was great! Presentations were overall nice. Not a bad meal at all, but just not good enough (or interesting) to justify the price. It’s a bib gourmand restaurant, but did not feel like it. Only three tables with guests at lunch time on a weekday, reservations not needed.

We were very impressed by the 'Menu iberico'. The quality of the food was excellent, with perfect presentation on plates. Antonio and his colleagues provided excellent service, too, and the location was beautiful and stylish. We expected the restaurant to be good as it was recommended in the Michelin restaurant guide, but what we experienced even surpassed our expectations.

Dropped in on a rare rainy night in Seville. The restaurant is in a hotel lobby, haphazardly separated with partitions that do nothing to hide newly arrived guests bumping suitcase sound on the tiles. The other side has used what looks like dorm/hostel partitions that you can see and hear service and other equipment through. It's an odd atmosphere. I opted for the tasting menu. It has numerous nicely portioned courses. They were inventive and flavorful. The pork liver was a departure - chewy and very salty (and I like salt). My waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and explained each course. The meal was well timed and the service was attentive. The ladies room had run out of toilet paper so a huge roll of hand paper towel was placed on the sink. This is likely a hotel duty but it goes along with the awkwardness of being in a partitioned lobby. I would say the restaurant has a more informal lunch vibe than a dinner.

Exquisite dishes, wonderful service and a minimalistic atmosphere that makes the food the star. The flavor profiles were unlike anything I’ve experienced before. Would definitely recommend this place and hope they get a Michelin star soon

Great appetizer and I really liked the pork shoulder, pork cut and hummus. The menu wasn’t very clear though, it’s a plate of appetizers + 4 « entrées » and 1 main dish. Dessert didn’t steal the show, it’s a bit too oily to my taste. Great price for an excellent tasting menu !

We loved it here. Great food, we went for the tasting menu and that allowed us to enjoy a great combination of dishes. We are recommending it to all our local friends

The tasting menu was great, even though there is an opportunity to either explain it better on the menu or proactively by the wait staff. At some point we didn't know what we were trying. Antonio was friendly and knowledgeable, so he didn't mind answering our many questions. This place has been recommended for a Michelin star multiple times, and one way they can help to make it happen is to improve the atmosphere. The restaurant is located right at the lobby of a hotel and there is no clear separation. Creating some walls and choosing a more appealing decor and lights would make this place much more inviting.
