If you placed La Luna Tea and Dessert Bar’s afternoon tea set on a neutral table next to more traditional tea houses, it would absolutely hold its own in both presentation and quality. This isn’t “good for a café.” It’s simply good afternoon tea.
Most people walk in thinking La Luna Tea and Dessert Bar is just a pretty boba, coffee, pastry, and sandwich spot, but they also offer a full afternoon tea that is surprisingly substantial and one of the best values around.
The afternoon tea is generous, customizable, and thoughtfully assembled. You’re not locked into a rigid preset. You can select from existing sandwiches and pastries on their menu, which gives you a wide range of choices, in addition to items included specifically in the tea service itself (additional sandwiches, salads, sweets, even ice cream). The portions are substantial, the variety is excellent, and the value for the price is hard to beat.
The food quality is consistently strong across both savory and sweet selections. Nothing feels like filler — the flavors are balanced, the pastries are satisfying, and the overall spread feels complete. The café itself is lovely and very nicely decorated, already Instagram-worthy on its own, making it a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the experience. There is outdoor seating available if you prefer, and the café is ADA-friendly and accessible.
Service is excellent. You order at the counter, but the food is brought to your table and everything runs smoothly.
If you’re only coming here for the boba, coffee, pastries, or sandwiches, you’re overlooking one of the most enjoyable and generous afternoon tea experiences in the area.
