Very nice brasserie over in freie westen. French cuisine prepared with heart. The bouchee a la rein puff pastry appetizer was phenomenal, melt in your mouth, explosion of richness. Filled with vegetables but bacon was definitely present. The sardine app was also nice, combined fried and marinated though I thought the pickled vegetables that came with it were too vinegary. If you like beef tartar you'll love their plat- delicious, sizable patty with a raw egg yoke on top, the way it should be. Comes with potatoes lyonnaise, roasted wedges with caramelized onions: addictive, crunchy and rich. The pork confit main was just a good - again quite rich, with a blood sausage, apple tart and plum mouse - an amazing sweet-savory combination. The lemon meringue ice cream is nice, creamy and smooth - I would have liked it a bit tangier but still good. The espresso was excellent as were the lemon madeleines- delicate and scrumptious.
The wines are all French and if you don't know French wine it's hard to choose. The waitress recommended a rose that was half frizante, which was ok but wouldn't order it again. The service was good. Prices are more for a special occasion, though definitely worth it.
