"If you’re looking for a place to eat a classic Neapolitan-style pizza and flirt, book a table at L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in Belmont Shore. This upscale pizzeria from Naples has a huge, candlelit dining room that prominently features a fancy domed oven. But you’ll forget all about that when they bring out those chewy, bubbly-crusted pies, which are best with simple toppings like basil and roasted garlic. For some added romance, reserve a table on their string-lit patio and cosplay a wine-drunk Tuscan holiday by the massive stone fireplace. " - garrett snyder, nikko duren, brant cox

Very cool vibe. Food is fantastic. Pizzas are 16 inches so great for sharing with 2-3 people. Salads are incredibly fresh. Top quality ingredients are obvious. Can’t wait to go back and try some other menu items.

Situated on a busy popular street , parking can be a bit of challenge. Restaurant has a nice ambience and service was good too. We got the Margarita pizza (good flavor but they ignored our request of making it well done and this one came out very soggy) , chicken entree (v good) , spicy margarita (Smokey and v well made) and bread pudding (very good !) Overall , we had a good meal and had it not been for a soggy wet pizza base , I would have definitely given this 5 stars .

The food was delicious. Favorites were the Caesar salad and the stuffed squash blossoms. The pizza was good, though very cheese heavy— wish it had some sauce that complimented the flavors. The branzino was tender. The desserts were acceptable, though the baked goods were a bit dry. Not sure if it was just the day or where we were seated, but we had to repeatedly ask for water refills to get a refill.

Came here soon after returning from Italy to see how it compares to meals from the "motherland". It didn't disappoint. The ingredients were top notch, flavors were on point. The pasta was not overcooked (as it usually is at most Italian restaurants in the area). A little bit of sticker shock as dining out in US vs EU comes with more extra costs. Different social/economy issue all together, but the meal was excellent 👌

Finally made it out to this place . It’s the spot in that movie Eat pray love - a pizza place here in the states that is like the one in Naples Italy known for their pizza ! I gotta say the thin crust was great and the burrata on top was delicious . It’s a good sized pizza but not heavy. We got a margerita pizza Caesar salad ( it was ok) not enough dressing and the romaine could have been better. Lacked on flavor . We had two pastas the pesto was a little bland but the nerano was better . I didn’t get a drink but I’m Glad because I heard it was diluted. Overall the service was good and the pizza was good - glad we tried it ! I think it’s definitely worth a try! Heads up it’s a little on the pricier side though - oh yeah we Ended dinner with an affogato - that was really good 😊

Great food, great atmosphere especially on the patio. The better picture was taken on September 28th and the other one today (December 8th). I’m not the type to leave a review, but as a regular customer who spends time here every weekend morning, it is sad to see a steep decline in service and I felt obligated to leave a review solely because I used to recommend the place to friends, family and coworkers. The patio used to open earlier, the guys who worked here gave phenomenal service, especially Stefano. The service was good and interactions were very professional, they made you feel like they care about your experience there. The girls who are servicing now can’t even warm up a croissant to order…and it’s not like they forgot because they were busy and the place was packed. Our small group were the only 3 customers in the morning… Plus if we showed up 10,15 minutes earlier before they start servicing the patio, the guys would make an effort to put a cushion down for us. Where now, the girls are saying they decline servicing us and putting down cushions if we sit outside, then finally after asking them nicely and mentioning that we’re returning customers they bring the drinks out to us 1 by 1(not all drinks together — it’s 3 drinks….) and a cold croissant in a go-to paper bag. Food is still good, place is still nice, but service is lacking in comparison to what it was. I’m posting in hopes it gets better again.

DO NOT ORDER PICK UP/TAKE OUT We have been to this place so many times and have considered it to be the best Italian food in the area, but our experience right now just totally killed it. We placed an order for short rib pasta and pizza bianca with ham. Upon coming home we tried the food, the pasta is delicious but the pizza however is absolutely inedible! It’s extremely salty and is missing 1 ingredient (basil). We called the restaurant to let them know about it and after speaking to the hostess (the manager didn’t even come to the phone) we were informed that the only thing they could do is remake it and have us come pick it up. I am sorry, WHAT? What kind of a solution it is? We are sitting at home having dinner and because the restaurant messed up we have to get up and drive back to the restaurant to get the food? This is absolutely outrageous!!! $34 for a pizza that tastes disgusting and not even a proper solution? Extremely disappointed, will not be recommending this place to anyone and won’t be returning back. Such disrespect towards customers is unheard of. I noticed on another 1 star review the manager responded “I wish you called us directly so we had an opportunity to fix the problem”. Well guess what, they don’t want to solve anything, it’s just a BS reply because we called the restaurant directly and they didn’t offer a solution. it’s understandable that once a customer has left the premises and is at home eating they won’t come back. Even Urban Plates sends gift cards when they mess up. This place doesn’t care about customer satisfaction.

L'antica lived up to the hype and expectation and judging by how busy the restaurant was, I wasn't the only one who thinks so. The pizza is thin crust neopolitan style, we ordered the pesto one, which came with a fresh piece of burrata on top. The Pesto was fresh, cheese was creamy, and the dough itself has a nice savory flavor. We also got the pappardelle with short rib. The tomato worked really well in flavoring the short ribs, but my only complaint is that the pasta was almost too thick, giving it a doughy texture. For drinks, we got two gin based cocktails and they were delicious, even though they are on the sweeter side. Will definitely go back to try other things on the menu.

Yelp
Allison was great! Second time she's served us. We tried the pesto pizza this time and it was great. We're excited to come back!

Yelp
A second visit to the restaurant and still WORTH EVERY BITE. I was thrilled to find that it STILL lives up to its high standards. The service was excellent, the food was beyond delicious, and the atmosphere felt perfect for any occasion. For us, we invited a friend and her family to introduce to the new neighborhood that we just moved to. This time, I tried a few new dishes. The ZUCCHINI FLOWERS were light, interesting, and a delightful appetizer to start the meal. The GRILLED BRANZINO was perfectly cooked and flavorful. It was so good that my friend's three-year-old son devoured half on his own. We also shared the PESTO PIZZA, which turned out to be a showstopper. It's easily one of the best non-marinara pizzas I've ever tried. This restaurant STILL continues to impress, and I can't wait to return for another memorable meal.

Yelp
Update following management response: Dear Francesco. Your MOD did not visit the table. The server even commented that she did let him know we were upset about the experience, but it was ultimately up to him whether he wanted to say a word or not. It is totally unacceptable for a manager to "avoid" the issue; especially when you're having an empty restaurant. Review from someone who grew up eating the original Michele's in Napoli, Italy. What a shame on the name of Michele! I was excited about the new opening in Long Beach having visited and enjoyed the food at the Hollywood location many times and personally knowing some of the people behind it. What a disaster in so many ways. The pizza was paper thin, burnt on the edges and not made with the authentic mozzarella they would normally use, which would normally melt and cover the entire pizza. The dough was clearly under-proofed which results in a thin and crispy crust as opposed to the chewy and doughy crust with the signature "bubbles" I would expect from a "Verace". I asked to talk to the pizza chef but the server said she would send the manager instead. Manager never showed up to address our concerns. On top of the pricy and disappointing meal, I was appalled by the low level of customer service I know the Michele brand doesn't deserve. We stood at the door and no one acknowledged our party. I had to up to the bartender, who called the hostess, who then sat us. No server came to the table so I went up to the hostess, who finally sent a server. We asked about happy hour and were told it is only offered in the bar area (this is common so I asked if we can move to the high tops). I asked if we could move to get the happy hour (the place was completely empty at 4 pm) and was told we couldn't because we had a child with us. Having worked in restaurants my entire life and, once again, having been to the Hollywood location so many times, I have never received this level of service. So if you're a family, no happy hour for you? What kind of rule is that. Finally, they don't have wifi. Which is fine if you don't want to offer wifi to your customer, but the excuse the server gave completely cracked me up: "Our servers need so much bandwidth that we cannot operate if we give it away". Just LOL. Cute place with parking though!

Yelp
I'm so happy they came to Belmont Shores! Amazing food and atmosphere. Specially love that you can get coffee and pastries in the morning. Espresso martinis and Carajillos are top tier.

Yelp
I went to L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele for my birthday dinner and was completely wowed. The restaurant interior is modern, but cozy. It was very inviting to see the pizza oven in the building as well. Our server, Cheyenne, gave a little intro about the history of the restaurant and the type of pizzas that they make. She also shared some of the popular items on the menu. My absolute favorite dish was the pesto pizza. The fresh burrata was phenomenal and had a delightful truffle oil flavor. The pesto flavor was incredible! The double margherita pizza was a solid take on a classic. I loved the extra cheese. I thought the Diavola would be insanely good, but surprisingly the spicy salami lacked a strong flavor. It definitely needed the side sauce/pepper flakes. The caesar salad was fresh with a beautiful umami flavor from the anchovy dressing. The radicchio provided some bitterness, but overall very tasty. For dessert, we got the olive oil cake with gelato. Our server also gave me a scoop of hazelnut gelato and some delicious cookies for my birthday! I can't wait to come back to L'Antica and order another pesto pizza!

Yelp
Visited on a weeknight, so we were seated right away. Ordered the Cesar salad, margarita pizza, and tiramisu. The Cesar salad was THE BEST Cesar salad I've ever tasted! The flavors, textures, and freshness were amazing! I highly recommend this dish! The margarita pizza had a very thin crust with fresh tomato sauce and delicious cheese! It tasted just like the pizza in Italy! Lastly, we ordered tiramisu, which was flavorful and light and had small bits of chocolate. I will definitely visit again as I'm curious about their sea bass and zucchini pasta dish.

Yelp
L'Antica is a great addition to the 2nd St., Belmont Shores dining experience. What this restaurant offers is a great selection of Italian influence dishes. They are all made with a very high-quality of ingredients and arrive at your table with a great presentation. You can really tell that everything is made with a lot of care at this restaurant. They have a nice selection of predominantly lunch, and/or dinner items. But, particularly on the weekends, I suggest coming in for their brunch service. During this timeframe, they offer a really nice selection of brunch orientated items. My favorite is their avocado toast. It's really tasty! In terms of a layout, this restaurant is large. It has a really nice interior dining space, with a whole lot of tables. Plus, they also have a nice patio area. This is outdoor area is particularly nice on the one side of the business where there is an awning covering the entire area, protecting you from the sun and/or rain. There, you can sit outside, catch the beach air, while enjoying your meal in the open air. The staff here are all great. They're happy to help you out if you need any help or direct you to what you may or may not want to eat. Overall, great restaurant.

Yelp
We were craving for some good Italian food and A quick yelp search helped us find this. Situated on a busy popular street , parking can be a bit of challenge. Restaurant has a nice ambience and service was good too. Overall , we had a good meal and had it not been for a soggy wet pizza base , I would have definitely given this 5 stars . Note : Updated review to 5 stars as business manager reached out and took ownership of this issue and promised to make it right next time. I appreciate this attitude and will definitely be back. Thanks

Yelp
The food here is good but not great. Still, it's a great neighborhood place and a friendly vibe. What would stop me from returning is the ridiculously high prices. $20 for an affogato - ice cream with a small shot of espresso?

Sam S.

Yelp
A wonderful addition to 2nd St, Belmont Shore. This expansive restaurant has indoor, outdoor and bar seating. A lot of parking in the lot behind the restaurant- a big plus because parking in the area can be tough. The decor is beautiful. The food is excellent. We tried pizza and pasta and both were very good. Service is excellent as is the ambiance. I would highly recommend.

Yelp
Review is from June 2024. My husband and I had been wanting to try L'Antica for so long and I'm glad we finally did! Parking can be hard to find, so I recommend giving yourself some extra time to look for parking. We made a reservation and upon arriving were seated right away. First impressions were that the tables were a bit too close to each other and that the restaurant was quite loud. It could be due to the open concept but it was noisy and made it hard to converse. For the food: 1. Grilled Octopus - We never pass on octopus if it's on the menu! It was cooked well and the lemon dressing gave it a nice tangy flavor. The potatoes were also nice and crispy. The arugula was topped with carrots but I didn't think the carrots added to the dish. 2. Pesto Pizza - Thin crust, lots of pesto, fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata. It was delicious! 3. Pappardelle Genovese - The pasta had a great chew to it, the short rib was tender, and the sauce was creamy. On the heavier side but I enjoyed it! Our server was friendly and attentive and gave menu recommendations as it was our first time. Overall I enjoyed the food and experience and will likely be back again.

Yelp
One of the best authentic Italian restaurants in southern California! Everything made fresh & from scratch. Flavors take be back to Italy

Yelp
My bestie and I find any excuse to go here and celebrate. We love the pizza appetizers and drinks. The pizza is top, by far my favorite dining experience in Long Beach. We love the zucchini blossoms and all the salads too!!

Daphne B.

Yelp
The restaurant looks amazing. The service great. Menu options okay. Here's the problem - the prices. The food is good, but not $28 per entre good. Didn't feel like we got our money's worth. Maybe if a bread was included with meals? We also got an entre to go. They didn't include cutlery. Maybe I miss Pappalucci's too much. If I'm going out for a nice dinner, I think I would choose another option. If I ended up here again I would try the pizza.

Dietmar F.

Yelp
Nicholina was our server. Very sweet, excellent service, I asked her if the restaurant made her choose a nom d'guerra and she replied this is her real name. Ordered the Caserta pizza, very tasty sausage pie with a reddish chili oil and greenish grilled kale...very Italian flag. . Then we got our usual pasta...the Bolognese with pork and beef ragu --- the pasta is freshly made, silly good. I have maybe 7-8 pieces of the big rigatoni and I will get a mini go box... and I'm a big meat! That's saying something. Good job Michaels!

Sharon K.

Yelp
I've been here twice and service has always been lovely and the menu has a good amount of hits. Our favorites: Zucchini flowers is a must, it's so unique and very tasty. Pesto pizza is a great one as well, nice thin crust, you can ask for chili oil on the side as well which gives it a nice kick. The fritto misto is an assorted fried appetizer which comes with a spicy tomato sauce that was good as well. I recommend to order a couple plates to share amongst the group. Some dishes like the zucchini flowers are a bit difficult to share unless you order multiple plates.

Yelp
Mamma Mia! I loved L'Antica Pizzeria! I had tried their location in LA and was super excited to see they opened up a location more local to me in Belmont Shore. Yelp photos do not do this place justice, as the ambiance of the restaurant really shines at night and in person. The exterior at night is so beautiful that I thought we were walking into the wrong spot almost. We went on a Thursday night, so it wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. This is a dim lit restaurant, but each table has a lamp where you can adjust brightness to your liking. I personally don't think it was too dark though. Our server was super insightful with his recommendations. For Pizza, we went with his recommendation of the Caserta and Pappardelle Genovese for pasta. We also started off with the Gnocco Fritto, which was super delightful with its crispness, hearty prosciutto, and creamy burrata to balance everything out. Top tier service, with food coming out in a timely manner and always being checked up on throughout the night. Parking may be a bit tougher here since the restaurant is along Belmont Shore (which is pretty limited to street and neighborhood parking). We were lucky enough to snag a metered spot after hours, but there is also a small lot behind the restaurant. This spot is definitely going on my go to list!! Can't wait to bring friends here :)

Jessica N.

Yelp
Very impressive of how the food prepared! I will go back for sure! Last time order pizza to go, it was good. But everything tasted better in the restaurant while the food are hot and fresh!

Isabella S.

Yelp
Always a pleasure to dine here. Authentic, homemade pasta, wood fired pizza, tasty cocktails and a good selection of Italian wine. Diavola pizza is a favorite - thin crust, spicy salami. Love the spaghetti nerano - Italian pasta dish with zucchini that isn't typically served at other Italian spots nearby. The spaghetti pomodoro, jadori chicken and other larger protein dishes are also solid choices. Great ambiance, generally easy to snag a reservation on open table, and friendly servers.

Tash M.

Yelp
Molto delizioso!! The ingredients are just so fresh, some of which are straight out of Italy!!!The pizza is just like what you'd find in Naples, the Caesar salad and broccolini are truly the best I've tasted! It was a superb meal. Nice selection of desserts. Casual but lovely ambience, and great service.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
One of my new faves in the area! My spouse and I had fond memories of the business here before it so we were sad to see it didn't make it through the pandemic. But wow are we impressed with L'Antica Pizzeria! I rarely expect much from an Italian restaurant when it comes to offering gluten and dairy free options- because, let's face it, a lot of the yum of Italian cuisine comes from the gluten and dairy. But the Genovese with gluten free pasta was divine, one of the best gf pastas I've had in the US. The sauce was deep with incredible flavors and the rib was tender and not overpowering. I also loved my glass of Vermentino. I don't see this offered on a wine list very often, and while I didn't pair my entree well for it, I still very much enjoyed it- it tasted like the end of summer in a glass. My spouse had the cacio e pepe - a personal favorite when I lived in Toscana years ago and could eat normally without worrying about food allergies. This is a simple and delicious dish. He was pretty pleased with his choice. It probably didn't need the truffle but who can resist? The truffle definitely made it heavenly. My favorite was the service with Dusan ("Dushan"). He made perfect recommendations and treated service like he owned the restaurant- with pride for the menu and respect for the diners. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return soon! Grazie mille!

Yelp
EVERYTIME we go here I'm never disappointed. Ambiance is great people are nice, this is definitely a great place for a date night

Betty R.

Yelp
Let me start of by saying ambiance is beautiful. The service was good. Not exceptional, but they took care of us. I give this Pizzeria a 3 for 2 reasons; the price and the food. The portions are great but it was so basic. And it's rustic style so we totally took this into account. I love me some Rustic fired pizza, but for $30 I could have gotten a much better margarita pizza at Little Coyote. And the true disappointment for me was the pappardelle pasta. I was expecting a thin, light pasta and was given a thick, dense plate of noods. It was cooked at dente, which is the way pasta is supposed to be cooked but it was not pappardelle. This was just large fettuccine. Super sad face. The sauce was good, maybe just a tad saltier than necessary but totally enjoyable. Not spectacular though. Anyway, that's my two-cents.

Julie Y.

Yelp
It was my first time dining here & my experience was great! Ambiance was nice & our server was friendly & attentive. Came here during lunch with my sister & mom & we ordered the scallop dish, Caesar salad, & pizza split into 2 different toppings (margherita & prosciutto). Everything we had was delicious! I'm picky when it comes to pizza as I don't like it too heavy or oily. Their dough was light & fluffy. I look forward to coming back for dinner.

Richard R.

Yelp
Let's talk about amazing food and service real quick. Besides the beautiful layout. L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele has quickly become a spot we visit on the regular, and it never disappoints! Their pizza is simply phenomenal, and here's a tip add burrata cheese to any pizza. It's a game changer! So far, our favorite has been the pesto pizza, but honestly, you'll want to try them all. This past week, we brought my girlfriend's parents along and discovered their fantastic brunch menu. The original Italian sandwich, made with homemade focaccia bread, prosciutto, and burrata, was out of this world! It was my first time trying it, and I'm already inspired to learn how to bake focaccia myself. The sandwiches are generously portioned and come with a choice of crispy fries or salad. The fries reminded me of the delicious beer battered ones I once had in Temecula absolutely crave-worthy! A heads up this place gets busy, so make a reservation if you can. And don't forget to show your appreciation to the hardworking servers. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
So I seen this place a couple of times and walked in to see the vibe and it's great. I tried it tonite for the first time it it was even better than it looked inside and food and service was amazing. Cheers to Stefeno G he was great with explaining all the different menu items and beers choices. Cheers!!! I will be back sooner than later Thx

Yelp
Met a couple of my girlfriends for here for lunch. Made prior reservations for outdoor patio dining. Once we all checked in, we were promptly led outside to our table. The entire side patio is nicely shaded. I ordered a cocktail first, after asking for a drink on the fruity side. Totally got what I ordered. Delicious. Ordered the beet salad as my main dish. Tasty. Afterwards, I ordered a latte with oat milk and crème brûlée. A little wired from the latte, but enjoyed my drink and dessert. My friends shared a wood fired flat pizza and affogatos which were served with a small plate of miscellaneous cookies. Their food looked delicious as well. No complaints. Service was efficient and professional. I would definitely come here again. I noticed it was fairly empty for a sunny Saturday summer afternoon. I'm thinking everyone must have been at the beach.

Janelle R.

Yelp
Food was incredibly delicious!! This is a great Italian restaurant that specializes in pasta, bread and pizza made from scratch. They have a great variety of appetizers, pasta, salads, pizza and entrees that encompass the Italian cuisine. The charcuterie board was mouth-watering! It had a great variety of hard and soft cheeses and meats, olives, pickled veggies and fresh bread. The pasta was cooked to perfection! Pizza was fluffy with just the right amount of sauce. They served it with Calabrian pepper oil that is phenomenal and some fresh grated Parmesan. The burger was flavorful! A great blend of meats with fresh homemade pickles and arugula to give it a kick. My husbwnd said he would eat it again! The mushroom lasagna was mouth-watering! If you love mushrooms and truffle and they have this special dish, get it! Cacio y Pepe was elevated! It does not compare to my go to favorite at Trader Joe's . Super cute ambiance! It's a great spot for a date with the romantic low lighting. Our server was phenomenal and attentive! We will definitely be back when we visit Long Beach again.

Zabrina W.

Yelp
My second visit and they achieved a five star again. The waiter was so friendly and even sent us home with baked goods. The ambiance is elegant but yet casual as I sat on the patio with my daughters. I was celebrating my birthday and they gave me a delicious complimentary dessert. Great food wine and service a win in my book

Janine D.

Yelp
This is a newly opened (6 months) Italian restaurant in Belmont Shore. Wandering by recently, I noticed that they have a coffee bar in the mornings...so, I came back with my cousin for our regular "Tuesday morning coffee clutch". This is a beautifully appointed restaurant, with several different seating areas, including patio dining. I must say that, our mixed berry scone was absolutely delicious...crispy outside, with light and fluffy interior. Coffee is very good quality Italian brew. They do offer all the espresso beverages and tea. Our barista was friendly and provided excellent service. The lunch and dinner menu is varied and interesting. This is an elegant, beautiful restaurant. Perfect for that special evening.

Leslie Y.

Yelp
I vowed to return with my family when I was walking my dog one morning and the friendly staff invited me and my dog inside. I was already familiar with this location when it was Babbette's Feast and Papalucci's, and this restaurant joined the two spaces and combined them under one roof. The central corridor is still evident from the current architecture of the restaurant. The friendly gesture of the staff beckoned me to return. The interior reflected a high-end dining establishment, and the waft of the aroma from the freshly baked pizza enticed passersby to linger. The interior was infused with natural light, but we got a table outside. The weather was perfect for an al fresco dining experience, and the patio was so dog-friendly that there were water bowls for our canine customers at different corners of the outdoor area. Finally, the pasta and pizza were memorable affairs. My son declared that it was the best pasta he's tasted, and the thin-crust pizzas deserved their well-earned accolades. To top it off, the courteous service from Alison, who looked like a cheery Amy Adams, made our dinner pleasurable and memorable.

Yelp
The food and ambiance were 10/10 for me! The food is very flavorful and authentic! It is a cozy restaurant that definitely has the European touch. I highly recommend for date night or a small group gathering.

Yelp
Yummy Italian food, nice servers, good wine. Can't go wrong! Haven't had anything here I dislike. Great for a date night or a night out with friends. Located in a nice area too

Yelp
Zucchini flowers 3 for $22 a bit pricey esp since batter was so thick and oily. The pasta and pizza made up for the appetizer. Al dente great flavor Thin crust. Presto was bright and flavorful with a basil-forward, herbaceous garden aroma The crust was cheesy not tough. I would come back but skip zucchini flowers. Service was nice. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
Came here for my sister's birthday. The service was good. We had a reservation so we didn't have to wait. Got some drinks and a whole lotta food. My favorite were the squash blossoms and the calamari. I love the pizza dough but also feel like all the food could have used a little more flavor. There were also flies everywhere. They said that Long Beach is having a fly problem right now so most restaurants have these little devices to scare them away but theirs haven't come in yet.. hopefully soon!

Yelp
As a fan of the LA location I'm so happy to have this restaurant in LB. They were established in 1870 in Italy and have graced us with their goodness. You can't go wrong here, and it's a place for a special date night or when you want to feel more elevated. Be sure to have a reservation. Our server was super energetic and funny, but did disappear for quite some time. Our meal ended up taking 3 hours because we were waiting 30 or 45 minutes for him to take our order for our third round of food. I do appreciate that they don't ask you to put your whole order in at once. We started with the Arancini and the stuffed zucchini flowers, both wonderful choices. You can see them cooking the pizzas with super fresh dough in the woodfired pizza oven in the corner of the restaurant so of course we always order a pizza. They're huge but thin so 2-3 people can easily split one. My favorite is the Diavola and you can tell how fresh all of the ingredients are. My favorite section of their menu are the pastas though, and I find them to be perfectly executed. The Spaghetti Pomodoro (so simple yet so delicious) and the Tagliatelle Verdi Al Pesto were our selections this time. For the latter, their homemade tagliatelle is topped with a creamy sauce of Burrata, basil pesto and spinach and it really packs a punch of freshness. It's an all-around winner for me.

Yelp
A gorgeous ambiance of casual yet sleek dining was a nice start when visiting this lovely establishment. To preface, I've eaten at the original in Naples, Italy, so of course there's no comparison... however, everything was clean, great seating arrangements, and my toddler enjoyed getting to draw on the paper table covers. ;) We ordered the calamari, cold deli with cheese plate (which was awesome), 4 pizzas of variations, some pasta, then ice cream. I think the pizza dough was too salty and overwhelmed the flavor of the pizza. I don't mind the thin style, but the pizza just seemed so soggy. The drinks were great! We had some beer and cocktails. I recommend a spot at the bar for drinks and appetizers if you're in the area. Service was very attentive and nice! They did seem a bit understaffed, but our server did his best. I appreciate the hustle and kindness. Love the parking right behind the restaurant and it's located on a busy street that's fun to take a walk in. Try it out!

Yelp
Love the vibe of this place!! Great for a night out with friends or date night. Interior is super cute with Italian furniture, gives vibes like you're in a furniture store. We even noticed their glassware and table mats is super aesthetic. Food and service was also so great. I am a huge fan of Napoleon style pizza and the crust here was so chewy!! The parpadelle pizza was slightly salty but overall food was good. I would want to try the cacio pasta next time. Came here to celebrate a birthday and servers gave us free ice cream and dessert platter big thumbs up for any place that goes the extra mile for this. Can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
New Trendy Italian Restaurant. Make reservations!!!! We didn't think we needed them on a Monday... but we did need them for a table so we ended up at the bar. It worked out for us! Food was good, wine was good but I was hoping to find a brunello... they have decent Chianti and CA wines... Definitely worth the hype...

Yelp
We ate at L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele while on vacation in Napoli; Italy last year and it was so good that it literally destroyed any other pizza for me forever. So I was over the moon when I heard they were coming to my hometown, a mere few miles at that!!! My friends took me here for a belated birthday celebration and I could have cried, because there was that most miraculous taste, and I didn't have to travel 6500 miles to get it! Was the crust a tiny bit different? Yes, as I assume it would be because our water is much different, but it was the same taste and I doubt anybody else would notice. Absolute perfection!!! My friends had pasta and greatly enjoyed theirs as well!!! We had amazing service and we'll definitely be back!

Yelp
March 28, 2924 Food - Fresh & Delicious - Cesar Salad, Bianca Pizza w/ ham ... loved both! Drinks - Espresso Martini & Moscow Mule - really enjoyed :) Service - Nice Ambiance - the restaurant is beautiful but really loud. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Food was great! We had also a couple of drinks - the strawberry sour was delicious. Any of the pizzas you can choose from are HUGE. So if you're going as just a couple, you'll probably end up bringing some home. Service was fast and great as well. The one knock I have is that the music here was pretty loud. Not sure if it was where we were sitting but it was hard to have a conversation indoors.

Yelp
The Mrs. and I have been eagerly anticipating the opening of L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in Long Beach(nay, Belmont Shore). We have been to the Hollywood location several times and it is one of our favorite restaurants. I wanted to take the Mrs. and kiddo out for a Valentine's Day meal(not on Valentine's Day) so yesterday we decided to try the new L'Antica Long Beach Location. Our reservation was for noon and we arrived at 11:47. We were supposed to be seated at a high top table but the hostess was able to put us at a low top. The dining room is smaller than the Hollywood location but the decor is very modern and clean. Lots of natural colors and textures. The bar area is small but comfortable. The only bad thing about the dining room is the acoustics are horrible. It wasn't too bad when we arrived but as more people showed up the worse the noise level got. To top things off, the music was cranked up louder. By the time we left we were practically shouting at each other. Once seated, our server Jesse arrived and gave us some time to look over the menu. Thankfully, it appears too be the same as the Hollywood location. I don't know what I would have done if there wasn't L'Antica's legendary(in my eyes) Cesar Salad on the menu. A few minutes later, another server arrived to take our order. I don't recall him giving us his name but it was no big deal. Naturally, I ordered the Cesar Salad for the table. The Mrs. ordered the Eggplant Involtini for her main which was egg plant filled with Parmigiana, basil, Fior di latte covered in a San Marzano sauce. Kiddo ordered the Prosciutto sandwich with fries. The sandwich could easily be shared and the fries were really good. I ordered the Tagliatelle Verdi al Pesto which was homemade Tagliatelle made with Basil Pesto, spinach, and tossed in a Burrata sauce. It was an incredible dish. The Burrata sauce gave the pasta a rich buttery flavor. The portion size was enough for three people to share. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake. We've had a few of the pizzas at L'Antica. Our favorite is the Bianca and our second is the Diavola. Since this L'Antica location just opened, I expected some hiccups. Luckily, there were just a few minor ones. The server who took our order was rushing. He needed to slow down and listen to the guest. He was in such rush that he dropped the menus when my daughter asked for a Coke that she never got. Also, once our food arrived, no one came to check on us. We were out of water and I could see that other servers and even the bus boy could see it but no one came by to drop off another bottle of water. I had to get Jesse's attention to get us another bottle. I think a manager realized what was going on and she showed up to give us more water. When it came time to get our check we had to get Jesse's attention again. L'Antica sits at the far end of 2nd street. It shares a very small parking lot with Super Mex. We lucked out and found a spot but when we left at around 1:20 there were cars circling the lot and we were being stalked for our spot. One schmuck in a BMW was so aggressive he barely gave me enough room to back out of the parking stall.

Yelp
Having the light and refreshing citrus salad along with the arugula and prosciutto pizza. Perfect share dishes for a lovely afternoon lunch. Our server Justina is delightful as always!

Yelp
We came here two weeks ago. I had been assured that this was the next great American Pizza. The pizza oven was down! My friend was inconsolable with disappointment. We returned today for our lunch and oh joy! The pizza oven was hot! The service was impeccable and friendly! We had the meatball appetizer. They were excellent, tender moist and garlicky! The double margarita pizza was .... Interesting. The flavor was spot on. It was the crust that was the real disappointment. It couldn't stand up to the cheese and sauce and sogged out. When you have a giant pizza oven you just have to give me some crisp on my crust! The ambiance was quite pleasing and bright with the huge skylight. The dessert menu was spectacular and included affogato!

Yelp
We made reservations for 4:45pm on a Wednesday. We didn't think we would need one but within 30mins of us arriving, the place was nearly full. Parking: There is plenty of parking in the lot but you do have to pay via QR code - about $5 for 2hrs. Facility: Still crisp and new. One review said it was loud inside and I would agree. Some construction is still being done outside. It's going to be nice by spring/summer. Service was good - a little slow but good. 4/5: Food: we got the Pesto Pizza and it was great - shareable. The Caesar salad was just ok. 5/5: Dessert: We got the Fritelle Di Frankie. It was perfectly salty and sweet and chocolaty. Super filling (shareable). 5/5: Drinks: Strawberry Sour mocktail was absolutely delicious - it was spicy like it had a little cayenne in it. Hubby got the regular Strawberry sour and he liked my virgin better. This is a great place to meet up with coworkers and friends. We will be back.

Yelp
this is my second time here and while the first time was a better experience - i still loved it here! sorry i forgot some pictures of the main dishes this time. im going to combine the two experiences!! both times, i got citrus salad, zucchini flowers, and the pappardelle genovese- those were all so delicious! citrus salad is so delightful. the grapefruit in it, is so fresh and perfectly ripe!! ahhh and the fennel. the flavors go together very well. zucchini flowers are decadent - with the creamy burrata inside the battered and fried zucchini flowers. the basil-infused olive oil is a nice touch. would love a couple more leaves of basil as garnish tho! now on to the pizzas! the first time, i had diavola and pesto. while they were both good - i think i prefer pizzas with no salty cured meats. the dough is so good so you want flavors that will bring that out. the pizzas don't need a lot of frill so i would always lean on cheeses and sauces - instead of elaborate toppings, at this establishment! pesto pizza was phenomenal and would highly recommend. you get a huge thing of burrata in the center - so how could it NOT be good! i'm mad at myself for not getting pesto pizza again last night lol the second time, we got the classic margherita pizza and caserta - margherita was so delicious. this is the best pizza there imo. classic. i would love some more basil on it - that would be my only gripe. caserta was a bit heavy - and there was just too much going on. i would like to maybe see something that brings forward calabrian chili - without all the other frills! pappardelle genovese is really delicious too. it was just as consistent as the last time i had it. the pasta is so good!!! perfectly chewy and al dente. if you like soft braised short rib.. this is for you! one thing tho / i don't think the server understood last night when i asked for pizzas that compliment each other.. compliment doesn't mean same type of flavors - but rather.. often contrasting flavors that would 'compliment' each other. i asked her what would compliment a margherita and she just gave us options that were very similar to margherita -_-a for the dessert, we wanted a classic so we gave tiramisu a try. and yup. it's good, get it!!! we were seated inside the first time and the second time, we were in the back by the fireplace. inside seating is romantic and pleasant, and our server first time was very attentive. love their portable little lights. they are very fancy zafferano branded lights - they really help with the ambiance! second time around, we were seated outside as we had a pup with us - so that was perfect. it's quieter in the back. we were also celebrating a bday - and we told the server. she brought us some ice cream with a candle - and that was a thoughtful touch. the ice cream was whatever tho haha.
