Authentic Neapolitan pizza served in a breezy indoor-outdoor space
"There’s a reason this Italian restaurant in Hollywood has been cooking pizza since the 19th century (the original is located in Naples, Italy): their chewy, bubbly-crusted Neapolitan-style pies are spot on. If it’s your first visit, go for the margherita (skip the extra cheese, it throws the whole thing off) because it’s the basis for all other pizzas at L’Antica. That said, our favorite is the Bianca—no sauce, double mozzarella, pecorino, and basil. It’s cheesy, oil-drenched greatness that almost makes you forget how mediocre the non-pizza dishes are here." - brant cox, sylvio martins, cathy park
"This 150-year-old Neapolitan pizza chain opened their first Asian outpost in 2024 and offers 18 different toppings. All the pizzas are made to order and come in one size only – 15 inches (37cm). Piled high with freshly cooked tomato sauce and cheese, the thin crust is perfectly crisp and chewy at the same time. If you can’t make up your mind, opt for a Marita – half marinara half margherita. The menu also offers starters, pasta and desserts." - Michelin Inspector

"While we’d come here just for the excellent Neapolitan pizza (the place has been cranking out pies in their original Naples, Italy location since 1870), the incredible back patio is the reason we’ll stay and hang out all day. With red brick walls, a full fireplace, and enough trees to qualify as a miniature forest, this sprawling space is exactly where we want to be drinking wine and Aperol spritzes this spring." - brant cox
"Located on a quiet side street a few blocks from Hollywood and Highland, this upscale pizzeria is a world away from the chaotic neighborhood it resides in. The main draw here is the Neapolitan pizza (the original restaurant in Naples has been making pies since 1870), but the sprawling back patio is why we’ll hang out all night. The red brick walls, string lights, a real fireplace, and a miniature forest of trees are all patio must-haves in our book, but it’s the glass window that peers into the kitchen where pizzas are made that adds a touch of flair." - brant cox, arden shore, sylvio martins, cathy park
"There can never be enough good upscale dinner options in Hollywood, and the tourist-swarmed neighborhood just got another one in L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele. Located on a quiet side street a few blocks from Hollywood and Highland, L’Antica is the first US location of an Italian pizzeria that’s been cranking out Neapolitan-style pizza since 1870. And while the pies are why you come here (the margherita and bianca are our early favorites), it’s the space - complete with a full fireplace and giant back patio - that’ll make you stay and hang out every night this summer." - jess basser sanders, brant cox
