This is hands down my favorite hot pot place - the food quality is amazing (seafood and meat very fresh) and the service is also good. They also updated menu to include free soft drinks and coconut juice, which is a plus! My family comes here whenever we crave hotpot.

A few days ago I went back to this place and gotta say, extremely disappointed this time. Served raw garlic shrimps. Absolutely no service it was terrible. The female waiter have a bad attitude and didn’t come at all until I have to ask her to come.

Lao Jie is my absolute favorite hot pot spot. My partner and I come here for basically every special occasion (birthday, anniversary, friend in town, just cuz) the food is delicious and $32/all you can eat is not cheap but it’s still a really good deal, especially considering the high quality, fast, friendly service, and excellent ambiance. the amount of thought and care that goes into setting the tone inside is obvious, the decoration is beautiful and they play good music too! also, the drinks are great! amazing selection of juices, soft drinks, and alcohol. 100% recommend for a nice night out!

My friend and I ventured here the other day for an all you can eat feast. About $30 a person for hot pot was awesome! We got half and half herb broth and spicy. We loved the pumpkin, enoki mushrooms, noodles, fresh herbs, cabbage, corn, spinach, beef, dumplings, tofu skin, seafood - it was all delicious. The service was great and attentive. Ambiance was fun too - everyone around us was having a great time for a great reason. Will definitely be back to try the BBQ/ hot pot combo - wish we would have known about it. Sounds like an even better deal.

I strongly recommend this place. 32 dollar for a person with AYCE hotpot. The service is nice and quick. FOOD IS SUPER FRESH, big thumb on that. Portion is decent. I like the bamboo shoot the most.

My favorite Brooklyn hotpot place. It’s all you can eat for 31 or 39 for skewers as well! With that price it’s amazing. The quality of the food and service from the waiters is also top notch!! Definitely recommend coming here and also calling early to get a seat reserved.

Favorite hot pot places in New York,like the slice beef and crab so much. Price is reasonable compared with other places in Brooklyn. I will always come back.

First time here. service is very good. Soup base wasn't that flavorful. The grilled menu was delicious Also they sat us next to the bar. Every few minutes she was using the blender, got really annoying

Sometimes your friends are craving hot pot. Sometimes your friends are craving skewers. Here, you get the best of both worlds. They are fairly accommodating of large groups (up to 10 by my estimate) if you call ahead and make a reservation. Larger groups are typically seated in the basement, so be mindful of that if some people in the group are less mobile. Onto the food. There's a WIDE menu that covers so much from meat, veggies, and seafood. My favorites would have to be the pork belly and the fatty beef. Some of the apps that surprised me were the cheese + corn & the garlic enoki mushrooms. Be mindful of how much you order, it can start arriving slow and then come all at once. As there are large orders placed at once, sometimes some items might get delayed, sometimes even lost. Don't hesitate to check in with the staff and ask. It can get cozy when you have a lot of food on the table. When it looks like you're just about done eating, the staff may ask to turn off the induction heating. Last time I went, a waitress got a little too close for comfort (her head was almost in my lap lol), so just stand up or get out of their way.

One of my favorite all you can eat hot pot places. They even do skewers all you can eat. I much prefer the hotpot than the skewer though. Service is usually quick and pretty spacious once inside. I love that at the end, they give you this pudding dessert which taste like jasmine milk tea.

This place is deep into Brooklyn for those who don't live in the area. I came here with a group of friends for a surprise birthday dinner. I've done my research of Kbbq & hot pot places to visit. PLEASE ADVISE its not Korean BBQ but BBQ skewers. Wrongly advertised so please take note! Hence why I dropped one star down. We came in with reservations and were seated immediately. There are two bathrooms and a self serve station for condiments. A lot of spices for those who enjoy their spices intake. My friend who loves spices actually enjoyed it. We were a party of 4 & it's AYCE. We had multiple rounds of raw food and vegetables come in. I don't think there was a time limit because it doesn't say anything of that on the menus or website (website is in another language so I had to rely on Yelp- thank you reviewers!!) Vegetables came in big quantities so we were able to order just one round which lasted the entire night. My party took the BBQ & Hotpot combo, the drinks & desserts add up to the check so be mindful! The servers speak very little English so please be mindful and be clear and specific when ordering! Me and one of my friends didn't want any dessert but the server misunderstood and brought out for each one of us (they only had one dessert which was weird) Other than that, service was pretty decent. I've came here for the prices and it didn't disappoint but I recommend someone in the group to be assertive.

I am such a foodie and I can't believe I had never been to a hot pot restaurant! I'm obsessed now! I would love to go everyday.. well if I'm not at a sushi joint! It was like a party in my mouth... the flavors..spices... . Decor was warm and inviting. And the service staff very attentive. Will definitely be back for more!

Been here multiple times. One of the best hot pot places in NYC. Clean, fresh, thinly cut meats. Huge menu to choose from with various veggies, meats, seafood, fish balls, sweet items etc. Multiple sauce stations in the restaurant and they are kept full. Awesome wait staff. Great ambiance. Plus extra option to add cooked skewers to the AYCE hot pot mix. The pork wrapped enoki skewers are too good.

Favorite AYCE hotpot spot. What a steal for $29.99 per person. My favorite broth is pork bone or herbal. The broth isn't as rich in flavor or special as the more expensive hotpot spots but that's why we have dipping sauce. My favorite meats are the fatty beef, angus beef, and beef tongue. They have all the other classic stuff so you can't go wrong! They can easily accommodate large parties as it is spacious with 2 floors.

My friends and I visited this spot for dinner on Columbus Day. We called to make a reservation before heading there, so the thirty minute wait ended up being about two minutes. This is just like the other hotpot buffet places. There is a sauce section where you make your own hotpot dipping sauce. Then you order 2 soup bases to share amongst your table. We ordered a number of fatty beef, pork belly, and Angus beef. We also ordered a few servings of vegetables to make it a more hearty meal. It's a great spot to hang out with your friends/family. The restaurant also provide free dessert, milk tea with jelly, after paying.

One of my favorite AYCE hotpot spots! They have tons of variety in food options from meat to seafood to vegetables. The servers are very attentive and come around to skim the top of the soup for you. It is one of the more affordable AYCE spots. The best part is the free dessert! It is a milk tea pudding and it is so delicious! They also sell it as a drink if you want to buy it.

I've been coming here for years, and it is one of the best AYCE hot pot around. The variety and service always on point. Food is always fresh. Never had a bad experience here. We've sat upstairs and downstairs and both lovely. Definitely make reservation on weekends because it does get packed and always a wait.

10.07.2023 Saturday @7:30pm with reservations. It's been awhile since I came back to 8ave hotpot. Didn't disappoint me this time and the team especially my server was extremely sweet, friendly n always came around like every 10mins to check our table to clear out dirty plates n making sure if we need add more order even though we only ate one round.

When checking in I asked for the seafood platter but they didn't have it :( which was surprising and a bit disappointing. This was my first time trying hotpot and it was definitely a good experience. I was told that they take reservations over the phone but when I called the night before they said they didn't (I think they were just booked). So we walked in and waited about an hour to be seated. As soon as we were seated, we were given bags for our jackets so they don't smell like so much food. We ordered everything and the price for the meal was amazing as well ($30 for all you can eat). The food was great and the waitress made sure to check on us frequently. They also have a station for sauces- a wide variety of sauces. Definitely recommend :)

An unassuming hole in the wall, you wouldn't expect to have nice quality food here. However, the broth is good (although my friend thought the tomato soup was too sour), and the meat and vegetables fresh. Service was quick too; we never waited too long to get our food. The waitstaff were friendly which is not the norm in Chinese restaurants. Parking nearby is sort of a pain though. Don't forget to pay the meters.

We had a great waiter that was very attentive to our party of 8. He made sure we didn't over or under order. The only complaint we had was probably the portion size of the veggies. We had to continually ask for beef and veggies

Great value for AYCE hot pot ($30/pp). They also have BBQ AYCE or hot pot + BBQ AYCE. We came by just past 5pm on a Sunday evening and the place was already packed, so if you have a large party, definitely make a reservation. The restaurant is actually quite large (they also have a basement level), so there's plenty of seating, but they are very popular so they fill up quickly. You can pick from a couple soup bases (we picked two for a split pot for two people), and various noodles, meats, seafood and vegetables choices. You can pick as many or as little items per "round" and staff members will put in the order for you. Items came out very quickly and everything tasted good! We particularly like the shrimp paste, beef, tofu (both silk tofu and frozen tofu), fish fillet, and the pumpkin cake. They also have a sauce station so you can mix and match however you like. They also provide a complimentary mango tea dessert after your meal. Staff was very attentive, and they offer a plastic bag for jackets to help keep the smell off (not sure it worked, but the gesture was appreciated). They didn't mention a time limit but we were stuffed after an hour. Overall, a great place to get hot pot for a very reasonable price.

This has become my go to for hotpot and Korean BBQ locally. I've had some great kbbq in the city but I think this spot actually might be my favorite. The service is great and the staff are accommodating. It's also a very family friendly spot and often times on Sunday nights, a lot of families will be eating here together.

First time here, party of 3, for dinner on a Friday night. Staff was super helpful, especially as my friends are not Asians. We were able to enjoy our dinner after learning how to navigate the menu! It was busy and the music was a bit loud but we got through dinner. I would go again.

Very good for the price. All you can eat almost anything you want (seafood, meat, vegetables) and the service was excellent. The variety of dishes was impressive, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. The ambiance was pleasant, making it a great place for gatherings. Highly recommend it for satisfying a hungry family.

Pretty solid AYCE hot pot location. I always come here with friends. Service is pretty fast and they bring the dishes out quickly once you order. They also have a lot of big tables with individual pots that you can do so it's a good location for big groups. They got decent cuts of meat, seafood, and veggies. Always a favorite place for hot pot with my friends!

Best ayce hot pot ever ! Solid price for the quality too. Tons of options, and honestly the fried buns with condensed milk and French fries are so good with all the meat and veggies you end up eating!

They DO NOT honor check in (seafood platter) We checked in and presented the free seafood platter in front of the server. But No. server states they called to cancel and do not honor seafood platter. False advertisement. We're already here so we decided to stay but kinda shady.

Solid service and very vegetarian friendly, which is a rare find for a hotpot spot! I called ahead and they took down my name, which was great since it was a very busy night for them. We were seated about 10 minutes after we arrived The servers were the right amount of attentive and came back multiple times to take orders for more veggies/meats and to refill our soups with more water As a vegetarian, many hot pot places are not easy for me but this spot was really inclusive. Most places have meat in their broth, but this spot offers a vegetarian version of almost all the broths. They play kpop on a big projector in the back of the room which is a vibe for sure. Overall we really enjoyed it and thought it was a great value- I'd definitely return!

I don't need to praise much about this place. It has already been one of the local favorites. Just wanted to add that the services was superb. The staffs were really attentive and nice. Skewers were perfectly done. Last but not least, condensed milk drizzled fried bread. Perfect way to complete your feast.

This place is amazing. Service was impeccable off the bat with our server grabbing our coats and sweater and throwing them into a bag to avoid them smelling like soup for the rest of the evening or couple of days. All the items we ordered were great, which included lobster balls, fishballs, crab, shrimp, beef, lamb, beef tongue and and an assortment of veggies. We got the spicy and the herbal aromatic soup bases, both of which balanced each other out perfectly. Sauce bar station is well kept with all the essentials

The service here is on point; the servers are extremely friendly and attuned to your needs, where they repeatedly fulfill your AYCE orders quickly and they also help remove the meat scum in your broth. The food quality is also pretty good, with a wide range of meats, seafood and vegetables! They also have a variety of condiments for you to construct your own sauce for your hotpot. Came here to check out all the new restaurants that opened since pandemic and there were a lot of AYCE hot pot and bbq places like this. I picked this one for the intimacy of a smaller restaurant but they have basement which host larger party. The food selection is great and we got a table for 2 and our pot is mix and the meat is very fresh and seafood as well. Can't go wrong with the fresh ingredients for Chinese hot pot. The decor is super cute and retro and the service is great.

LaoJie had great service with a nice selection of food for barbecue and hotpot. Will come again.

Move over, 99 Favor - looks like I've found my new go-to AYCE hotpot spot! At an affordable $36 (incl tax) per person for AYCE hotpot + BBQ skewers, it is soo worth it. The food is fresh and BBQ deliciously marinated... what more can you ask for? (I recommend doing the deal for both - hot pot is its own special experience, but don't sleep on the BBQ!) We came on a Saturday night right at the start of hot pot szn (a couple of weeks ago) and was quoted for a 40 min wait, right before 7pm. However, they called maybe 10-15 min later with a table ready so don't venture off too far like we did! We were seated downstairs, which was bustling. Like everyone else has mentioned, the old school China decor is awesome and adds to the overall experience. Our server was ready to take our order as soon as we sat down. The hotpot portion of the meal was very standard / up to par. Made a delicious sauce at the sauce bar and everything tasted so good with it. It was the BBQ skewers that blew me away! Beef, chicken wings, and the pork belly w/ enoki mushroom - all WOW. So good, especially that last one. It's basically bacon wrapped enoki and it's so addicting that we ordered it like 3 times. It was difficult to not stuff myself with the bbq meats alone. Another highlight was the complimentary dessert - milk tea pudding! I'm not a sweets/desserts person, but this was so refreshing after hotpot and the milk tea was just so aromatic. I read that some people come here just for this pudding or that they've purchased extra orders of it to go, and that doesn't surprise me at all. I'm about to be that person too.

Came here with a friend who specifically insisted that the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn had superior hot pot to Manhattan. After our experience here, it's kind of hard to disagree! Sorry Manhattan, we still love you tho. We got two different broths - bone cylinder and a spicy one. I enjoyed both but was really blown away by the spicy one. It was so flavorful and had just the right amount of heat on a 40 degree day. There was a good variety of meat, veggies, and starches and I pretty much enjoyed all of it. I also appreciated the little side station with a bunch of sauces and sides like garlic and scallion. I think the best part is how relatively cheap it ended up being per person for how much we ate. Service was very good and usually pretty quick. I appreciated how attentive they were to getting dishes out of the way and managing the pot. Also, I went with people who really knew their way around the menu and could order for me, but I do I think you can get by with only English if you had to. Overall, I felt as though this place was more authentic and had better overall food than the places I've been to in Manhattan. Will definitely come here again on a cold day!

We went to Lao Jie Brooklyn for lunch. The ambiance is eclectic and has an old school Beijing Vibe. The servers were really nice and offered suggestions what to order. They also tried to push additional dishes on us which is a great touch at an "all you can eat" hotpot buffet. The sauce selection was extensive with every essential. The broth was excellent and the ingredients were all very fresh. I also loved the "old school" karaoke playing in the background. We definitely ate too much but were completely satisfied by our lunch. I will definitely give it 5 stars as it lived up to the hype. We will definitely come back next time. I only wish we could sing karaoke there!!!!

Laojie hotpot retains its special place in my heart for being a fantastic place for value-for-money hotpot + excellent service (while also being my first hotpot place with Rozena). It was our second time here, and as usual we kept the orders coming until we felt we simply couldn't go on. I honestly think one of the best moments in life is the anticipation before an AYCE hotpot. Because what followed was just amazing. We got the spicy broth and the tomato broth. At all times, we had beef and lamb in there. And some of the other items we added were: fish balls, lobster balls, mussels, imitation crab, tofu skin (an absolute must!), cabbage, watercress, enoki mushrooms (the only kind of mushroom I can tolerate), Udon noodles, and yam noodles. Predictably we did feel like we couldn't go on beyond a certain point but that takes nothing from how tasty the whole experience was. We also devoured a pudding in milk tea that comes with the AYCE hotpot. How great is that? The service, I think, is top-notch, with waiters constantly asking if we want to add more to our broth, or waiters adding more broth as it gets depleted. We reserved a room, but the host wouldn't let us go in until we had a party of 5 or more. Overall, I think the food was decent, and I liked their seafood selections. The waitress gave us a free jar of juice for paying cash.

12/12/2021 All you can eat hot pot is awesome when it's done right. This is one of two locations here in Brooklyn (86th Street, and 8th Avenue). It's a very popular and highly sought out restaurant, thus reservations are recommended. Interior: I love the dark wood furnishings and ample seating that's great for a family styled meal. Service: you're immediately greeted and vaccination cards are checked upon arrival before being seated. Our server was very prompt and refilled our orders and pot at any given time during the meal service. The Food: well, the menu is pretty vast with the amount of items you can order for the pot or items that are readily prepared and cooked. It's an endless array of all of you can eat happening here, so be sure to come prepared and hungry. You'll find a bounty of vegetable, meats, seafood, and frozen appetizer options. You have the option of getting individual pots or a ying and yang (half and half pot) for the meal service. Experience: it felt like as if you're hot potting while you're also eating night market food in Taipei. The food was equally fresh, wholesome and delicious. I can see why groups flock here to dine in as not only as it's an experience, but it's also a way to spend time with others. We live in a pandemic world at the moment, and it's great to feel somewhat normal in the confines of an establishment that is not only being cautious but also providing a great environment.

Very esthetically pleasing. The staff are nice and everything comes out pretty fast. They have a decent selection of meats and seafood. Great clams not the tiny ones. The meats are decently fresh. Only two real meat choices beef and lamb, the rest is just an assortment of "hot pot things like fish balls, meatballs, sausages and stuff like that". Some items were a miss like the shrimp and squid could've been better. The soup is great very flavorful and a wide array for sauces to mix for your own liking. Their melon cakes were refreshing, more of a pumpkin and freshly fried. Overall pretty good place. Sounds like they raised the price to about $30ish per person. It was an enjoyable experience especially on a cold and rainy day.

Drove here from Long Island after hearing about this place. Finding a parking nearby was pretty easy and we didn't need to make a reservation to come eat inside. The menu was very straightforward. You can pay for all you can eat or get food each time by paying for the items. We picked all you can hotpot and got beef, shrimp, squid, some veggies and dumplings. The broth we picked was spicy broth and that's the best decision we made. It was perfect. They bring in the food really fast and give you all the utensils you need to dunk the food inside the broth. The meat was very tender and juicy when it was cooked into the broth. It enriches all the flavor thats in the broth. With all you can eat, you can order as many times as you want and they bring it to you as soon as possible. The broth was steaming hot. You can always ask them to adjust the temperature but we kept it as they recommended. The waiter constantly checked on us to make sure we need nothing else. The prices are very reasonable and cheap. For the price, the service and the food was beyond amazing. Theres also a separate booth where you can get extra things for free like garlic spicy sauce peanut sauce napkins etc. Mix the garlic and spicy seasoning with the meat makes the taste 10x better I can't really tell which one was my favorite. I loved the beef and dumplings both. They come in frequently to fill the broth with more water if it goes down. The food was so good the taste was still in my mouth even after hours. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Laojie is easily my favorite hotpot spot in Brooklyn. I love their mala / spicy broth which is my go to. I especially love the fish fillet; it's soft and tender.

The food was really delicious. They had a sauce bar and you could make your own sauce. The beef was really nice too. They had good service. They were quick and nice. The staff threw out our trash and asked if we wanted to order more, so that's nice. The ambiance was nice too. They had music playing and the decorations were really pretty. Definitely recommend!

This was such an embarrassing experience bringing my friends. We usually come here pretty often but this time we had a different waitress we usually don't have. Then when it was time to pay the check she asked my black friends extremely loudly in front of everyone "I NEED TO SEE YOUR ID" Meanwhile when she took the cards from other asian tables she did not ask for ID or checked. There was only three tables in the entire restaurant at the time including us and she was very loud about the entire situation which further made my friends very uncomfortable. I don't appreciate this behavior especially the way my black friends were treated.

I always thought the best hot pot places were in Flushing, but little did I know they got a great spot in Brooklyn Chinatown. Service was great and even though it was all you can eat the waiters kept checking on us if we wanted to order more food. We ordered the fatty lamb, fatty beef, pork belly for days, fishballs, enoki mushrooms, clams (must-have as they are huge!), fried tofu, pumpkin, and taro which we cooked in a split pot of hot/spicy and bone cylinder soup base Overall, highly recommend especially if you want AYCE (paid ~$35 after splitting with my friends including drinks)

Eh, I've had much better hotpot. The broth was really disappointing. We got the spicy broth and herbal broth. The spicy one had a good kick--but only for like five minutes. It became super diluted once they began refilling our soup with water. The herbal broth had absolutely no flavor to begin with. The broths also didn't stick to any of the foods we cooked. I couldn't taste the broth on anything. I do hot pot with my friends quite often, and the broth packets we get from Amazon are way better than the broth here. It was almost like the broth was taking away flavor from our food. I will say that their side snacks like the fried bun and pumpkin bun were excellent. The pumpkin bun was so soft and was like a cross between a muffin and mochi. Really good. The staff was really attentive, but again, they refilled the broth with water like fifty times, so none of our food had flavor.

We come to this place frequently. It was very good in the beginning, food was fresh, large selections with welcoming services. However, the last few visits were very disappointing, they became so cheap that it became annoying. Items ordered were delayed and omitted arbitrarily, and the quantity was laughable. We ordered beef balls for a party of 6, we got 3, we had to split them among us. Waitresses were busy talking and arguing among themselves instead of taking care of customers....This place will go out of business soon if they don't improve. There are a lot of competition in the area.

Love this AYCE hotpot! It's no wonder that they are super popular and busy all the time! They have good quality and fresh meat and seafood. I've came back so many times with my parents and they love it here just as much as I do. This is my preferred hotpot when I go visit my parents. Also, the price is definitely reasonable and affordable. Definitely recommend to make a reservation during prime dinner time especially on the weekends.
