I was excited to try Hot Pot 9 with my friends and our kids. The interior and ambiance were stunning, and they currently offer a great deal: $30 per person on weekdays and $32 on weekends and holidays. They also have a fair policy of charging 60% for kids aged 12 and under, and our 5-year-old ate for free, which was fantastic for parents!
There were 9 of us, with several kids, and we were welcomed with two soup bases of our choice—tomato and spicy broth. The menu was accessible via a QR code on our phones, offering a wide selection. However, it was confusing as every order remained in a pending status, and we could all add items at the same time, making it difficult to confirm if our selections were processed.
Initially, the food came promptly, but as we neared the last half-hour of our two-hour seating, my pumpkin dessert, popsicles, and pork belly never arrived. We placed these orders when they announced last call and handed us the bill, subtly signaling the end of our meal. After following up, we finally received the pork belly, but the popsicles never came. We weren’t notified of any cancellation or given a reason.
Additionally, the lack of air conditioning made the experience uncomfortable, as we were all sweating and losing our appetite. The service slowed down toward the end, and we felt rushed, unable to fully enjoy the last part of our meal.
While the food and setup were impressive, the poor service and treatment were disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless there's a change in management.
