I luv this place at Hotpot 9. From the moment we walked inside, it felt like we have travelled to China. Every corner is nicely decorated, the interior builds the mood for a great night of hotpot.
Staff are friendly and hardworking here.
Currently, they have a nice deal on weeknights at $33.99 CDN + tax a person, which includes all-you-can-drink pop, including broth base (if you pay by cash or debit card).
We enjoyed the crab paste pork bone broth and the tomato broth.
Good saucing station. Good cold appetizer snack bites as well as hot snack station. I was surprised how good the cold steam chicken was, good cut, good flavour and meat.
You can order the meat via the QR code app. Other hotpot ingredients can be selected on your own at the ingredient station. They put dry ice or some cold mist around the ingredients to added mood and visual to the food.
Ingredients are constantly being replenished. Greens are fresh. Meat such as marble beef is decent quality. There were fruits at the sauce station. The mango sago was not good, weird taste and not appetizing. The cold jello was better. ONLY drawback is...they don't offer Melon popsicle or soft serve ice cream. That's the only thing missing.
The AYCE is 2-hours, quite honestly, unless it's jam packed, the staff don't really enforce or strict, they let you sit around and enjoy and recover from a big meal.
This place is spacious that walk-in is usually ok without wait. The ONLY drawback would be the lack of individual pot or soup broth. They expect you to share with a giant broth, which families are ok but if you are individual friends and not used to share a broth, other hotpot places with individual pot maybe more suitable for the individuals.
Overall, it's a great place to have hotpot. We also enjoyed this location coz it's a great mid-way point for friends who live in downtown to come up or people from the suburb north to meet up here. It's also so close to Hwy 404 and Fairview Mall.
NOTE: 12% gratuity is automatically kicked in. Also FREE 2-hour parking on the multi-leveled parking, make sure to ask the server for a voucher. If you are over the 2-hour, it's ok, you just pay the difference at the parking machine.
