Where To Eat Outside When It Might Randomly Rain

"Sometimes it’s just too gross to leave the house, period. When this is the case, stay home. Close the windows, rewatch The Wire, and order something delicious for takeout." - adrian kane

We ordered one of everything for the full tour of Laos. Food came quickly and well packaged. Everything was still cold and frozen even shipping from Chicago all the way to San Diego in a heat wave. I was impressed! Everything tasted like the comfort food of home but with the ease and convenience of just heating it up in the microwave. The owners are the kindest people you'll ever meet and really go above and beyond with their service. Would order again 1000x more.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing both the ready-made meals and the catering service from Laos to Your House, and I can’t speak highly enough of them. Stacy and Byron went above and beyond to hand-deliver my order after a minor shipping issue (which was not their fault), even though I live out in the burbs. This level of customer service truly blew me away. As for the food, I tried the gang phet, thom khem, Sai oui, and seen savahn meals, and every dish was incredibly flavorful and delicious. I’m already planning to reorder! Additionally, I had the team cater an event I hosted, and once again, they exceeded my expectations. From the food to the service, everything was perfect. Stacy and Byron are amazing people with a passion for their food, culture, and values, and it shows in everything they do. I feel lucky to have met and worked with them and highly recommend Laos to Your House for both catering and ready-made meals!

We will definitely order in the future many more times! Cannot wait to try everything!Thank you!

Ordered Laos to Your House on a Wednesday evening and received the meals packaged neatly by 9am on Friday morning. The packaging alone is stunning. The front picture pays homage to our home country of Laos and everything was packaged well and neatly. The back had a QR code for people to find the reheating instructions of each meal you received. Food: Laap Gai (Lao Chicken Salad with Herbs)- 5/5 Flavorful and delicious. Had the aroma and fragrance of all of the correct herbs in this dish. Tasted like my family’s cooking. Mok Gai (Steamed Chicken and Herbs in Banana Leaves) with Cabbage- 5/5 All of the flavors worked perfectly with each other and I paired it with homemade sticky rice to make it an even more authentic meal. Meat Sampler (Beef Jerky and Lao Sausage) with Jasmine Rice- 5/5 The flavors were so yummy! They each had their own personal flavor profile and each one was amazing on its own. Jeow Bong (Lao Dipping Sauce)- 10/5 Yes, a 10/5! Loved every bit of this sauce and dipped the meats and sticky rice in it, put it on my Jasmine rice, and ate it with my cabbage. It was just the perfect accompaniment to everything I ordered! This is a definite must-have!! All in all, they have found a lifetime customer in me. For someone who is missing homemade Lao foods but can’t get to it where you are or just need a break in cooking, give them a try! It’s cheaper and tastier than DoorDash!!

Google
Wonderful food, great communication, fast delivery, pretty much perfect Decided to do something different for our anniversary dinner so instead of going out, I googled take out that wasn't fast food. Meals came in frozen and on time as promised. Instructions were crystal clear and the owner even reached out afterwards with extra instructions. Meal prep was very easy as long as you follow instructions and I have to admit, I never expected frozen food to taste so good. To be fair, i believe the meals are prepped same day then flash frozen (could be wrong, I am just guessing)...but regardless, it is yummy. We had the crispy rice with pork, papaya salad, steamed chicken in banana leaves and the fried noodles. Will be ordering the other items next time. Wish i took photos of the prepared plates though

Google
I first ordered food from laos to your house through dwell social. I live in the boonies so all the good Asian restaurants are a bit of a drive for me. Even through dwell social it was still a bit of a drive. I got excited when I learned they ship overnight right to your door. The food is delicious! I always keep some in my freezer now. Ive tried almost every meal. Papaya salad fresh in my fridge, what more could I ask for? 4th time ordering and I will keep ordering. Great meal for people with busy schedule or when you don't have time to cook.

Google
I have been craving and looking for Lao food ever since I moved to Chicago and I can only guess that through my conversations and google searches that someone or something was listening and it worked! Laos To Your House popped up right onto my feed the other day as they were having their Autumn Pop Up at Midwest Coast Brewing! It was all perfect timing! Stacy and Byron are two of the loveliest, friendliest, and most welcoming souls you’ll ever meet! With the most welcoming and sweetest interaction, you already know the food is going to be amazing and hit the spot! You’ll immediately see and taste all the love and joy in every dish & every bite! If you’re looking for all the comfort food you’ll ever need, it is here at Laos To Your House! I got the yummy Nam Khao, fresh papaya salad, fresh sticky rice, perfectly seasoned skewers, and the galabao!!— dough and filling is perfection! Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!! All the comfort food you’ve been craving for is here!

Google
Incredible all around - cannot recommend Laos to Your House enough! Ordered catering for a work event with a lot of different diets to keep in mind and they nailed it. Stacy and Byron took the time to work with me on a menu that fit our group and then delivered INCREDIBLE food. We will be back for more!

Yelp
This place is legit. I work nearby and it's become a welcome treat for me to pickup on Fridays after a long week. I've tried several items in the menu so far - the bento box is a good way to sample a variety of Lao dishes, and the Nam Khao Moo is really tasty. This is the kind of food you're not going to find in most parts of the city and certainly not outside the city. My favorite thing on the menu so far is the Jeow Bong sauce- I've never tasted anything quite like it. I even tried to make my own and that..did not go well. Maybe I should just leave this one to the masters. The owners are really friendly and responsive too, and they've got a pretty great rewards program. Highly recommend checking out Laos to your House.

Yelp
I love this place! Being from California, I'm always looking for Lao/Southeast Asian food in Chicago. My favorites are the Lao sausage and sticky rice, mok ghai, nam khao, and kapoon. So many good things on the menu, though! I also love the community they build here and all of the different events and pop-ups they put on. Will definitely order again and again.

Yelp
I was so excited to hear about Laos to Your House. About 15 years ago I had the wonderful opportunity to stay with a Thai family in a small village in the Isan region near the Laos-Thai border. I fell in love with sticky rice and the flavors of the homemade dishes are still vibrant in my memory. Not only does Laos to Your House come the closest to those fine food memories, the ease of pre-ordering and coming home on a Friday evening to a delicious homemade meal has made me a regular. highly recommend you take a trip via your tastebuds to the other side of the world.

Yelp
It's not easy to find Lao cuisine in the Chicagoland area. You can count on one hand really how many Lao cuisine establishments there are and Laos to Your House should definitely be on your radar. Authentic. Affordable. Delicious. I had ordered the khao piak sen (Laotian chicken noodle soup) and the first bite had sent me into realm of nostalgia. Really hit me in my feels. Since the passing of my grandfather, I haven't really be able to have laotian food. I'm beyond glad I stumbled across this establishment. Cannot wait to try their other dishes on their menu and explore a part my culture through food. Definitely encourage you to give this small business a try. It's people like you who give a small businesses a chance to thrive in this diverse food ecosystem in Chicago. Don't knock it until you try it!

Yelp
Such excellent food! I look forward to the day when the food is delivered to me. The bento boxes are a great way to try a little of everything. I love all the food here from the sai qua (pork sausage), to the seen savanh (beef jerky), and the thum mak hoong (papaya salad). I would say that the salad is quite spicy, so if you can't take the heat, ask for mild. OMG! Don't forget about those eggrolls! So delicious! The nam khao is such a unique and flavorful dish for the summer. Do not miss this one! I've also had the curry and the kua mee (noodles) and both give me that home cooking vibe like I am eating my mom's food. Don't sleep on the special featured items! So good! You cannot go wrong here!

Yelp
Food was delicious and authentic. We ordered for curbside pick up and service was extremely quick & easy. I ordered the LAOcuterie Board. This was the perfect amount of food for 2 and had a good mixture of food options to tried. My favorite was the jerky as it was thin and flavorful.

Yelp
Laos to your House has been delivers to my suburb using Dwell Social. I have been a regular for the past 4 months. The food is unique and delicious. Their regular menu is amazing- they eat everything with sticky rice- and the Bento box allows you to choose 2 proteins. Pictured are the brisket and jerky- which is like no other jerky. Maybe bc it is fresh. The box it comes with papaya salad which is delicious but a little too spicy for me so I substituted more sticky rice. (BTW they are 4 for 4 getting my order perfect) They also have a monthly special. February was a fried salmon entree with tomato sauce and rice. It is hard to describe the flavors bc I certainly have never had the spices in this combination. The portions are generous and one meal is adult feeds two people. Finally I am including a pix of my little dog aka the chicken thief. Last month the special Was a meat lovers platter. I turned my back for 5 seconds and the little stinker managed to reach to snatch the chicken leg bits from my tv tray. Quite a balancing act for a very senior Shih Tzu I am not dog shaming him and I didn't punish him(other than taking it away) because the food is IRRESISTIBLE!!

Yelp
The food is phenomenal!! I ordered the LAOcuterie Board and Nam Khao and everything was so tasty and fresh. I had a couple of special requests that were handled with lots of finesse. I loved all the different textures and and every bite was a burst of unique and delightful flavors. The owners are adorable too! They make you feel like you've been friends with them for 20 years! You can tell they really put pride and love into their food and business. I'll definitely be ordering again!

Yelp
When I heard about a new Lao place opening up in Chicago, I knew I had to try them! Their food takes me back to memories of gatherings back home in San Diego when I was growing up. This is the closest thing to home! I enjoy their dishes and have become a regular patron! The only downside is that they're not open 7 days a week. Hint hint ;)

Yelp
Can't say enough about Laos to your House. We ordered for the first time last night for a group of 10 friends and the only thing we argued about was which dish was the best! Authentic and delicious food plus great people plus delivery plus a great mission / story. You really don't get better than this. We'll be ordering again for sure. Stacy and Byron are the best!

Yelp
The food was absolutely fantastic !!!! The delivery was within the window that they stated. Such amazing flavors. They need to open a restaurant in my town. So I can eat there often. It even came with a thank you card such a nice touch. I ordered the street food sampler and a bento box with the savory Jerky. That was great!!! I had a side order of pork belly spring rolls too those were good too. Really everything was beyond good. It was so delicious!

Yelp
I was super excited to see this restaurant available on DwellSocial in my suburbs. I used to live downtown and I miss the diverse food scene that was so accessible for me. We treid the LAOcuterie board that came with spicy sausage, brisket, chicken wings, beef jerky, spicy papaya salad, chicken laap, jeow, sticky rice, cucumber, pork rinds and cabbage. This was a great assortment of food for a really good price. My favorite was the beef jerky with jeow and the sticky rice. I can eat that nonstop. The spicy sausage was very herby and fragrant. The papaya salad was indeed very spicy, but I actually did not really like the flavor. It tasted a little bland and flat. I'm not sure if the flavor was off that day or that is how lao papaya salad tastes. I also did not really like the chicken laap. Same issue like the papaya salad, the flavor was kinda flat and the shredded chicken texture through me off. Loved all the different little accompaniments it came with.

Yelp
It was delicious. Ordering through DwellSocial was seamless. My brother & I had the charcuterie & street food. The containers were like the sustainable kind & both fit right into the airfryer/oven for reheating. The food were fresh, taste unique with lemongrass, fish sauce, etc., overall delicious. We like the beef eggrolls, beef jerky, grilled chicken wings, sausage, papaya salad (spicy hot!), crispy rice with fermented pork, chicken laap, caramelized noodles, etc. I think it's still different from thai food. Some people say it's similar. Ample portions with reasonable prices. The only sad thing was they forgot about my Laotian flower cookies that were supposed to be included in the street food. Anyway, next time I'll probably try the curry dishes. This is a foodie's delight!

Yelp
Excellent food! I recently ordered takeout and was impressed by the personal touch provided by Stacy and Byron, who hand-delivered my food to the car. The presentation was impeccable, and the taste was simply delicious. I highly recommend "Laos to Your House" to anyone in search of top-notch food experience.

Yelp
We had a delicious meal from Laos To Your House! It was our first time trying Lao cuisine and it did not disappoint. The chicken was juicy, curry savory, and egg rolls irresistible. The pick up operation is smooth and easy with excellent customer service. Thanks for the incredible food, we hope to make this part of our weekly routine!

Yelp
I ordered the taste of laos to give this place a try. Let me preface this by saying I used to live in Thailand and have been to Laos many times. So I may have a bit higher standards than someone who has never tried Laotian food. If you've never had it, and you don't live in the city, by all means this is a decent introduction to the cuisine, especially if you can't eat very strong or spicy food. But living here in the city of Chicago, I have had a lot better and more authentic Larb and papaya salad at the Thai restaurants or even the Thai market here. The papaya salad was only papaya and a couple of tomatoes, so basic; usually there are other ingredients such as thai eggplants and long beans to give it more texture and taste. The flavor profiles here were very much on the mild side for me. I also found it to be very pricey for what you get. My partner who is Thai from the northeast (near Laos) was also disappointed. The one thing that we did enjoy was the sausage, though even that could have been more spicy and flavorful like what we have had in other places (or at least give some pieces of garlic and chili on the side as they do in Laos). I want to support businesses like this so feel bad leaving a negative review, but for the price point we expected more flavor and fresh ingredients.

Ruth G.

Yelp
My first time to try Laos cuisine and was so excited , did not fail . I ordered the shrimp roll , curry and rice , at first oh like Thai food but it's a little bit more than that , seems like the food was made with such love- feels like home . I can't wait to try other things on the menu . Staff are so accommodating , I'm sure I will be a regular . Delicious!!!

Yelp
Normally the only place I could get Lao food was a home cooked meal by family. So it was a breath of fresh air to see a Lao restaurant open locally and especially in Chicago!! I cant say enough about Stacy and Byron who are genuinely humble people who want people to experience Lao food and culture. The food is so good and flavorful. Every bite makes me feel like Im having a home cooked meal. Cant wait to order again and support!!
