Laqua by the Lake (Lake Orta, Piedmont) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Though less famous than Lake Maggiore and Lake Como, Lake Orta is scarcely less spectacular; and without quite so long a history of opulent grand hotels to deal with, a place like Laqua by the Lake is free to express itself in an unapologetically modernist direction. No mere rooms, all 18 units are somewhere in the space between suites and apartments; those with views of the lake are worth the premium. There’s a small spa with a CryoSuite as well as an infinity pool and a beach club, and the restaurant and bar serve modern Piedmontese fare under the direction of the award-winning chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo." - Tablet Hotels

Absolutely loved this hotel from the moment we arrived. Such friendly staff, stunning setting on the lake, sparking clean water to swim in, the views from our room and gorgeous food. We had supper there on our first evening and were blown away by the meal (best this year by far). Breakfast is also fabulous. As a place to chill and relax, it is unbeatable. Nearby villages are also magical. This was a hotel experience at its best and we will be back.

The concierges at the hotel were all excellent. They helped us with booking the Bistrot (delicious) and secured us a table at Villa Crespi. They also arranged boat hire for us and we spent a lovely day motoring around the lake stopping off at Orta and Pella. ||Our room had a wonderful view and was very comfortable.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at this beautiful hotel. ||We loved the location, facilities and food.||The staff across all meals are attentive, friendly and professional. The food is delicious and beautifully presented.||We enjoyed the spa, swimming in the lake, the beautiful pool area, hiking and visiting nearby villages and towns.||The hotel up the road is worth a visit, good meal and fun rooftop bar but lacks the sophistication of our hotel. ||A member of staff recommended the local gym which was great too.||Thank you for a lovely stay ||Emma and Jim Smith

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. It is at a beautiful location and very friendly and helpfull staff. They can answer all your questions, book also nice restaurants in the area for you or help you to book a private boat to explore the lake. Breakfast was good but we were surprised that if you want an omlet or egg you had to pay 20 Euro. That should be included in the hotel price. But we had a great holiday and might comeback.

I stayed at this hotel in June 2024 and it was amazing! More than 5 stars. It was so relaxing. The pool and dock by the water was so perfect. The restaurant was delicious. I wish we had stayed longer! It is a smaller hotel which I enjoyed and appreciated the quiet atmosphere.

The food was good, as you would expect from Michelin Star restaurant, but not fantastic, and not as good as Locanda di Orta. The setting was lovely, and a nice dining room. However, the staff somewhat spoiled the occasion. They were very stiff, unsmiling and full of themselves, confused about their roles, and gave off the impression that they were carrying out important tasks and diners should not get in the way. As an example, I was looking at the menu, and a young waiter turned up, and without a word, removed the menu from in front of me, and placed down some hors d'oeuvres. A pet hate of mine is that restaurant staff don't seem to realise that when people are ready to leave, they ask for the bill, they don't ask for it 10 minutes before they want to leave. I had to ask a dismissive and arrogant young waiter 3 times for the bill. He did not receive a big tip.

An exceptional hotel. We’ve been incredibly lucky to stay in some of the world’s best hotels and this is certainly one to add to the list. Our room was unbelievable and the staff were so attentive with cleaning and turn down service. The location is unbelievable with views of the lake and paddleboards available for exploring more of the lake. The pool and lake access provided a perfect retreat during our visit to the region and were already planning our return.

Being a Hyatt fan, and having some points, I booked this place for a 1 night stay, just to position myself closer to Milan (MXP airport) after a 5 city, 2 week tour of Italy. It looked very nice, on a lake, and just seemed like the perfect end to our trip. I really didn't put much thought into it other than that, nor do any research of the area. To say that it, to me and my husband, was breathtaking, is an understatement. The drive closer to it just got prettier and prettier, and once we pulled in, we were treated like royalty by the entire staff. It wasn't very busy, given the season, and somehow, I got lucky enough to get an upgraded room. Basically, it is an apartment with an amazing view of the lake and mountains. It's surrounded by beautiful scenery, an amazing pool (which we didn't get to use) , a small beach area, and plenty of seating around the lake. My only regret is that I didn’t book more nights at this resort. I would have loved to stay longer.
