Shaw’s Late-Night Fried Chicken Shack Roy Boys Will Close This Month - Eater DC

"At Baltimore’s Larder, chef Helena del Pesco, an alum of famed Chez Panisse in the Bay Area, gained a faithful following for her local-sourcing approach and a menu that changed often. Fermented foods, preserves, and ultra-fresh vegetables all emerged from the kitchen. Meanwhile, herbs grew on in the rooftop garden. After 'two years of pushing through this pandemic, [Larder has] decided to close [its] doors,' according to a Facebook post. In the new year, Larder will become a 'nomadic entity' called Larder at Home with workshops, pop-ups and small scale catering." - Tierney Plumb

We loved our first time at Larder. You need to walk through Fadensonnen's beer garden to get there, and they share that outdoor space. Larder's meals aren't very filling, but they are seasonal, local, and delicious. They have some seating of their own inside too. They also sell some local handmade ceramics, desserts and make pastries as well! I definitely recommend checking them out!

Excellent food, good social distancing in the outdoor courtyard, and nice atmosphere— loved it so much for Brunch we returned Later the same week for dinner. Highly recommend!

Larder is filling a big void in Baltimore. So excited to have a spot to grab a healthy veg forward lunch in the city. Tucked in a courtyard off Maryland Ave this thoughtfully curated spot offers soups, salads and prepared foods perfect for dining in or taking out.

Kuku sabzi was moist. Steak and egg salad was overcooked.

The "Donny" was delish! Best veggie burger I've had in some time. The tomato jam really makes it.

I eat here every week. The lunch is the best in town- and the Friday and Saturday night meals are fun and delicious. The food is high art. The ingredients are right out of the ground. And the menu changes almost weekly with the harvest. There is a beautiful courtyard to sit in while you eat your incredible food. The best place in town hands down. Normally you’d be getting this level of food for $300 at a 5 star restaurant. To have it everyday - for such a reasonable cost is a dream.

Larder provides the perfect spot for an affordable, filling (but not overly so), fresh, delicious, and comfortable lunch. I had mushroom pesto pasta and sat outdoors to enjoy it in a shared walled patio space. As Larder is a new restaurant, I highly recommend trying it out and spending a lunch here. The menu seems to change regularly so it would likely make an excellent consistent lunch spot.

The food is fabulous. It was beautifully presented and the most tasty mixture of flavors and textures. We had the summer salad and the pesto pasta and the ice tea. I could eat them everyday.
