L'Aromate

"This attractive restaurant is idyllically located near Place Masséna in the heart of Nice. The contemporary decor sports a black, white and gold colour scheme, untreated materials such as wood and granite and a glazed kitchen overlooking the dining room. The scene is set for chef, Mickaël Gracieux, armed with an iron-clad CV (Oustau de Baumanière, Plaza Athénée, Le Bristol, Louis XV, etc), to craft modern, creative and elegantly presented cuisine using top-quality produce from Nice and the Mediterranean (San Remo prawns, trumpet courgettes, local green crab, squid and citrus fruits, etc). A chef with the background and the ambition to achieve his high-flying goals." - Michelin Inspector

Oh my goodness, we had an absolutely incredible dining experience! There’s this tiny, Michelin-starred restaurant tucked away in Nice, and it was simply magical. The food was absolutely delicious and presented in such a beautiful way. It was a truly memorable night out!

We loved this dinner. It was an entire experience worthy of the Michelin stars. The sardine tart was an incredible and tasty surprise. Service was incredible. The wine pairings were perfect as well. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience, the chef creations are simple but incredibly delicious, the combination of flavours and their sofistication clearly justify the Michelin star. The wine pairing with the menu is interesting and solid but doesn't surprise you on the level of the food. The service is very efficient. It was a surprise to be possible to make a reservation in the same day, it's still is a surprise after going there, one of those restaurants that deserves a long waiting list. Congratulations.

I am often surprised when a top restaurant serves their red wines at room temperature rather than 15-18. It’s a pity to buy a nice bottle but not fully enjoy the flavor. It also makes one wonder if all those bottles that you have on the list are stored long-term at room temp - what a shame.

The food here is undeniably Michelin-star quality, but the customer service fell short. Despite notifying the restaurant early about a medical situation, they were inflexible and showed little empathy, rigidly enforcing policies even though the restaurant was nearly empty upon our arrival. The manager’s dismissive attitude and the lack of accommodation added to the disappointment. The dining room, while modern, felt quite cold. One dish, a fish cooked to 53°, was served cold. When I raised this with the waiter, I was given a lecture explaining how it was “meant to be” rather than addressing my concern. While the food itself was good despite this fish incident, the overall experience was marred by poor handling and a lack of care for guests. A Michelin star includes service, not only food.

Only one person working in the kitchen, one person serving the guests, and one host. Absolutely terrible service, not worth the michelin star, food not worth the price. Tasting menu of 4 plates took longer than 2 hours to arrive and cost us $300 between 2 guests. We left before dessert because we were so disappointed in the service. One of these dishes was 3 lonely asparagus stalks.

It’s a horrible experience and it’s the worst Michelin restaurant I ever had! To be honest, the food is not bad, but nothing surprise, just normal, and too salty…..it’s the most salty food I ever had in Nice (I have been staying here for 2 months). Due to the salt, the flavor of each dish is simple……cannot taste the different layer and the complex flavor of different ingredients. The service…..bad. Only 2 waiters, sometimes we have to pour the water by ourselves. Originally, we booked a table for 6, but 1 of our friends got serious sick, so 5 of us come for dinner. They don’t care the people at all, and insist to charge the full price of the absentee, no matter you are sick or dead……to be honest, no big difference between 5 and 6. I have to think this way that they really need the 120€…….. Also, because we need to send our friends to hospital, so we want to delay our reservation from 8pm to 9pm. Again! No! No way to delay! And the fact is there is only 1 table with 2 person come @9! I don’t know why they don’t compromise anything to take care of their clients. If you have made the reservation of this restaurant, you have been kidnapped!

Such a lovely dinner! My wife and I reserved this as our final meal on our trip to France. We received many confirmation and reminder emails, and the chef prepared for my wife's gluten allergy with a special version of the menu. It was our first Michelin-star experience, and it was a delightful culinary journey from start to finish! We opted for the smaller menu and the wine pairing. Absolutely perfect, and we had fantastic service throughout. Make sure to add this to your list when you're in Nice. Generous portions and a wonderful atmosphere. They are on their way to their next Michelin star, I'm sure!
