NYC New Restaurant Openings, August 2025 | Eater NY

"A second cafe from the East Williamsburg Vietnamese coffee shop, brought back to the owner’s home neighborhood with the same menu of coffee drinks and snacks, Vietnamese and otherwise." - Nadia Chaudhury

Larry’s Cà Phê - Review - Park Slope - New York - The Infatuation

"Since opening in Bushwick in 2023, Larry’s has developed a loyal following of people who couldn’t possibly start a Saturday without a cà phê muối. The cold brew with salted cold foam is equal parts salty and sweet, overall perfect, and just as big a hit at their second location in Park Slope. photo credit: Willa Moore photo credit: Willa Moore photo credit: Willa Moore photo credit: Willa Moore photo credit: Willa Moore Pause Unmute Repeat customers swing by for their usual, at a table alongside first-timers, who are losing it just a little over their first sip of Larry’s Ice-Green. It's coconut water with ceremonial matcha foam on top, which sinks slowly into the coconutty bottom until it’s one lightly caffeinated, highly refreshing combination. The coffee is the whole point here, but Larry’s also has a short menu of things like lemongrass beef skewers over rice noodles with nước chấm, and a few pastries, like tiny Vietnamese coffee brownies, wrapped up like presents." - Willa Moore

Jollibee Is Opening New Restaurant Near Grand Central | Eater NY

"A Park Slope expansion lands at 384 Seventh Avenue, near 12th Street, with the second location aiming to open in mid-August and keeping the same menu of coffee drinks and snacks, Vietnamese and otherwise. Owner Tuan Nguyen says he wanted to “bring the cafe ‘back home to the neighborhood I was raised in,’” and he opened the original in 2023, named after his father, who adopted him from Vietnam." - Nadia Chaudhury

Interesting drinks! I got the Pandan matcha latte - and could actually taste the Pandan, which is great! Not that much seating but the cafe is at a calmer side of town, so there’s always seats available. Might not be the best place to study at though - but rather to just enjoy your drink.

I swang by here for a private friendsgiving event and had to try something off of their menu! I got the chanh muoi, which was utterly refreshing and to die for. I’m so used to the ones my mom would make out of a jar, but this bottled one tastes equivalent— if not, even better! The ambiance of this place is cozy, curated and truly embodies the journey of being vietnamese-american. The vibes are absolutely immaculate here. Staff is both conversational, friendly, and helpful. If you’ve been on the hunt for a new coffee / matcha shop to put on your list, I highly recommend Larry’s !! I also heard they’re dog-friendly! Parking can be a bit difficult, but there’s loads of street parking if you’re willing to circle around.

I’ve been going to Larry’s since I moved to New York 2 years ago and by far it’s the most consistent in flavors and quality. The most innovative in partnering with locals for pop ups and developing new flavors. And the most friendly and welcoming establishment I’ve been to in New York. New cafes pop up all the time but Larry’s maintains the true essence of New York with an emphasis on community. When it comes to the drinks and foods I have to say I’m always impressed. I first tried their happa cookies and regular matcha as well as their flat white (one of the bests in the city) and it was amazing, overtime I believe I’ve tried so many things on the menu from their egg trung coffee to their new menu at this park slope location. I highly recommend the tofu noodle for the vegetarians out there! Mildly spicy but so flavorful and yummy. I have to bring up their delicious and amazing matcha Pandan drink. If you saw my last review on their original location, I had asked them to add the Pandan to the matcha and the barista was so kind enough to accommodate that. I wrote the review about it and back then it wasn’t a menu item but with the help of all of you ordering it, Tuan added the matcha Pandan to the official menu! And hint hint, ended up naming it after me. Which was such an amazing experience in and of itself. Such a cool place, team, and legacy that Tuan has created! As always, I highly recommend coming here for all of their amazing treats and drinks that are hard to find any where else at this quality. Everything is reasonably priced and definitely worth it. I recommend going to their pop ups with smaller local businesses to support the community.

Amazing traditional Vietnamese coffee and drinks. The coconut curry was really tasty too. The design of the cafe is cute and the servers are very friendly. So glad this spot opened in the neighborhood! Just wish they stayed open a little later during the week.

Google
Just had an amazing experience at this coffee shop! Staff was super friendly and accommodating to help explain the different types of Vietnamese coffee’s. With four different Vietnamese specific options, they took the time to talk me through the different flavor profiles, and recommended a starting pick. I tried the Ca Phe Trung (egg custard) and it is both rich and decadent, with strong coffee flavor and hints of cinnamon. It’s not a cheap drink and the shop is a bit on the pricey side compared to others in the neighborhood. However, the quality is impeccable and definitely worth the splurge.

Google
So happy to have this place in the neighborhood! They have special drinks but also traditional espresso drinks, matcha & tea! They also have a small assortment of pastries & food options. The iced latte I got with oat & pandan flavor was so good. Pandan was nutty & similar to hazelnut. Free WiFi, some seating & a bathroom! Highly rec! Will be back for sure.

Google
Super busy on a weekend with very limited people working. They should definitely have more than one barista on a Saturday. Staff were super kind and patient even though it took 30 min to get two coffees 😬 Hyped up place, but the coffee is pretty synonymous with your standard Vietnamese coffee. I don’t know what’s so special about it or what differentiates it from the rest. Had a corn mochi from Yellow Pear that was superb in taste but too pricey for what it was. I wouldn’t buy it again unless it was $1-2 dollars less than what I paid. Small place so don’t expect to have a spot to sit on the weekend. I’d like to check it out on a weekday to see if the experience is different.

Google

Yelp
Friendly staff and yummy egg coffee. The egg has the flavor profile of flan or creme brulee with a whipped texture! Not too sweet and perfectly compliments the strong Vietnamese coffee. I also tried the Jade Matcha (pandan flavor) which was excellent -- the pandan flavor reeeally came through. Seating is pretty limited but turnover is quick. My friends got the London Fog and unfortunately didn't like it -- neither finished their drink.

Yelp
Stepping into Larry's Ca Phe was a slightly unsettling experience for me. For as long as I could remember, this location was home to Naidre's Cafe where I enjoyed many (many) cups of coffee, lattes and breakfast burritos as I listened to locals chatting about their lives over drinks and breakfast. I absolutely loved Naidre's and when it closed in 2025 I was heartbroken. Larry's Ca Phe is named after Larry Hilton, a Math teacher who adopted two children from Vietnam. Tuan Nguyen, his first adopted son opened this cafe in his father's honor and I think that is a lovely story behind a cafe succeeding Naidre's. Nguyen has completely reworked much of this space. Whereas Naidre's had a slightly darker, almost sleepy atmosphere to it, Larry's is bright with the color white dominating backed up by yellow. Beautiful new lighting gives the place a bright and warm feeling and the seating area has been opened up more (and I'm pretty sure the walls and floor were redone a bit). Overall the space has been modernized and looks very nice. While the focus of this cafe is on some very unique drinks (including egg coffee) they also have food, so there is much for me to try in the future. However, I like to work with a baseline when evaluating a new place so I ordered my standard Dirty Chai with Oatmilk (hot). The Chai was...okay. Normally I want some more spice kick and a bit of heat in my Chai but this was very mild. I also did not get a particularly strong flavor from the Espresso shot, which surprised me. The drink was good, but definitely not the best I've ever had. Much of my rating here is for the decor, good service and backstory. I believe Larry's has many more options to offer and I do plan to revisit it one day to try their stews and a different drink.

Yelp
The 5 star review is exclusively for the coffee, which was totally delicious. Loved the egg custard coffee, which was superb. A new obsession is born. Wish they had a warm variety but I gather that is not a thing. Hopefully they will invent one for those of us who love a warm beverage! The treats were stale when purchased this morning...like, really stale. I'm not letting it change my review overall. Hopefully the powers that be will read this, take it to heart and never, ever serve day (or, ahem, two or three day) old pastries again. It does not serve you well to do so. Will return for the coffee and hope to return for the pastries when they are fresh!

Yelp
If you're looking for one of the most delicious coffees you've ever tasted, go here. The egg coffee is creamy but light, delicately spiced, a true symphony of familiar yet surprising flavors. But with coffee shops, the two points that unfortunately are make or break for me are decaf options and seating. Larry's on a Saturday afternoon had very few of either. The Hojicha is a lighter caf option, and was a very lovely brew, but clearly people come here for the coffee. I know there are limitations on what can be made decaf, but it didn't stop me from wishing desperately I could drink a whole vat of the egg coffee at 3 pm without regretting it. There were only 2 or 3 tables and a tiny bar, as is typical for many little cafes, but it was so popular the line to order nearly filled the entire space. If I were to go again, and I will, I'm going right when they open and savoring every drop of that egg coffee.

Yelp
Very cute neighborhood coffee spot specializing in Vietnamese drinks. Their first location in Williamsburg and now their second in Park Slope. It wasn't too busy when I visited, the staff was welcoming, and maybe about 10-15 spots to sit inside. I got the egg custard coffee and it was so strong and really delicious, also with the corn butter mochi which had such a nice texture. They said they would start adding food items Thursday and are currently soft opening until September 5th. Strongly recommend to come try their coffee and other specialty items if you're in the area! Can't wait to come back and try other drinks.

Yelp
I like the coffee options here. It's a modern take on Vietnamese coffee. The coffee drinks are SO strong (as VIetnamese coffee it)... can definitely vouch for a great caffeine boost. The space is nice too, and there's free wifi.

Yelp
Excellent service and location. Menu is same as original location but with food! They are still getting settled but the neighborhood is very excited and there is a decent amount of seating. Still has the charm of original location!

Yelp
Here I am thinking I discovered a hidden gem in Park Slope, only to find out Larry's Ca Phe has a major following and a Greenpoint location! Well believe the hype because I took the time to take pictures and write a positive review. The ca phe trung (egg custard coffee) and Larry's ice green are phenomenal! I've been back three times in less than a week! Delicious..yum!

Yelp
Everything is so well thought out and sourced. The ingredients are beyond fresh and just the perfect amount of everything done really well. It's going to be packed especially after school for a heads up. Place the order and go get a bottle of wine at Big Nose Full Body.

Yelp
Already a new favorite! My husband and I have been intrigued by the story posted outside the cafe about the origin of "Larry's" and we were excited to check it out. My matcha with coconut milk foam was outstanding; easily the best matcha I've ever had. I also got the kale salad with lemongrass steak. The steak was cooked perfectly and was so flavorful. The salad was also delicious. Lastly, the service was excellent. The baristas chatted up our children (who were not on their best behavior ) and made us feel so welcome. We can't wait to go back!
