"Head to the Market Square shopping center on Eldridge to fulfill all your Peruvian chicken needs in Houston. This counter-service place covered in wood walls has 24-hour marinated rotisserie chickens spinning in a hand-built, charcoal oven at all times, and that’s exactly what you should order. Get chaufa with a quarter chicken combo and some fried plantains, or take home a whole bird to make your family weeknight meals easier. If you’re into ceviche, order Brasas' best lime-drenched all-fish ceviche and creamy leche de tigre, which will clear up your sinuses. " - gianni greene, chelsea thomas, julie takahashi

"Pollo a la brasa is a style of cooking chicken with origins in Lima, Peru. Behind the counter at Las Brasas, you’ll see an 800 degree oven, fueled with charcoal, slowly browning more than 15 plump chickens simultaneously by rotating them on metal spits over open flames. The chicken is served in quarters, halves, or whole, with your choice of sides, including yucca, fried plantains, and more. If you’re wanting to branch out from chicken, try the tallarin verde (Peruvian pesto pasta), or the Lomo Saltado, stir-fried beef with cilantro rice and French fries. Yes, French fries are hugely popular in Latin America." - Christina Autry

I picked up an order at Michael's and saw this place. I had some trouble with my online order at the store so I googled this place. The pictures of the food on Google had me set to try this place out! The place had just opened and I was the first one there. I ordered the chicken wrap. A couple came in right after me and we all waited for our food. Their food came out immediately and i waited. Finally after a while , I got up to check on my order. I was informed it would be right out! It didn't come right out and I finally got up to get a refund, how could a burrito take 17 minutes?? The chicken was already made on the rotisserie? Finally the lady came out with my burrito, I was pretty hungry so I changed my mind. After eating, I felt better and went up and told the guy I am not usually that way but 17 minutes for a burrito was a pretty long time! The guy, who I think was the manager, said to me, "You're fine, don't worry about it!" Well, #1 - I wasn't apologizing! #2 I told him three times the long wait time for a burrito and he just smiled! The place had two other patrons and they had their food within 5 minutes! The food was okay but there's better places for chicken and better service.

Ordered the food on too good to go. Didn't know what I was going to get. I got some really delicious food however for $18? Looks more like they knew you paid $6 so they gave you $6 worth of food. I think they are just using the too good to go app as a way to advertise their business because 2 pieces of chicken? I can get more chicken at KFC. Before they argue oh but you get two sides I can get a 12 piece bucket at KFC with 3 sides and biscuits for $18 this is just pure marketing for these guys. I look at the sign a 2 piece chicken meal on their menu is $10.50 says it comes with two sides no extra cost. I got rice and fried plantains. So if it comes with two sides I didn't pay anymore for this meal than $10.50 according to their own sign. Which is less than the advertised $18 meal. However the fried plantains iv never had before and am glad I got to try it. And I love charcoal chicken I should start using charcoal when I cook my chicken at home. Too good to go is supposed to be used to be use for food waste but was told they only serve fresh food so that shows you that they are using it as marketing not only that but the employees basically flat out told me it was just a way to advertise their business they still throw out old food.

Food was good, they have a fountain area but does not work. I don’t know why they don’t take it out. I dislike when restaurants have can drinks, that’s is so cheap. I understand making money off the drinks but when it comes to refills.. (not good). The over all restaurant inside felt a little dirty and the condensation on the AC vent were very visible.

Stop by to try but it didn’t live up to the hype. The chicken, while decently flavored, was overcooked and dry, missing the juicy tenderness you expect from charcoal grilling. The sides were disappointing—old and clearly not fresh, leaving much to be desired. To make matters worse, there were flies in the salad displayed over the counter, and the bathroom had insects, which was a major turnoff. For the price, I expected much better. Sadly, this was a very disappointing experience, and definitely I won’t be returning.

We got a great deal from Too Good To Go app and tried Las Brasas food for the first time. It was delicious. Rice, chicken and two sides. The quantity was a lot too. The spicy sauce is da bomb. And the food is Halal.

Ordered on too good to go. This was my first order from the app and I was excited to try this place given all the good reviews. I walked in and one man around the grill said hello. The cashier was taking care of someone eating inside. When they finished their interaction I assumed someone would come help me. There were at least 6 workers around the front. After about 2 minutes of just standing there, I noticed they had a “online orders” area off to the side of the pick up register. I moved to that spot and was still ignored for another 2 minutes. Finally, some guy (who previously walked past me while waiting in the online orders section), asked me if I’d told them my pick up order details. I replied “no, no one has asked me”. Then he mumbled something under his breath and to the cashier next to him. That’s when I walked to the front and asked what I was supposed to do because each area I stood in no one acknowledged I was there. The cashier said “you need to tell us you’re here so that we can get the order ready for you”. I told him again, that no one had asked me anything. I didn’t know I was just supposed to walk up to them and show them my phone?? Like that’s weird, most restaurants you go to, someone asks you “how can I help you”. Anywho he continues on about how they’re so busy and this and that. I told him i understood that but they can’t get annoyed with me for not being helped. The cashier apologized the other guy went and made the plate I assume. The fame out fast and was very mediocre. I received a leg quarter lots of black beans and rice and some burnt plantains. Really hate this had to be my first experience using the “too good to go” app but hey, at least I know where not to spend money at again.

I bought a To Good To Go plate and I was not disappointed! Very good! Chicken was delicious, loved the steamed vegetables and the black beans and white rice were great!!! Where else can you get a meal like that for $6?!?! So glad they’re using that ToGoodToGo app!!! Definitely getting that again! Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars on food was that I had a few bits of crunchy rice, but that happens to everyone:)
