Las Brisas Review - Laguna Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The food at Las Brisas is Mexican seafood. But that’s not why you’re coming here. You’re coming to Las Brisas to sit on the deck, have a margarita, take in the ocean views, and maybe eat some ceviche. Las Brisas has been around forever, but it continues to be one of the best spots in town for a sunset cocktail. photo credit: Jakob Layman" - Katherine Lewin

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience… our server did an awesome job checked up on us regularly and was very friendly I wish I could remember his name he went as far to help me push my chair in and other guests… just a kind person. All of the staff seemed kind just a great atmosphere overall people make you feel welcomed. And the food did not take long we started with a charcuterie board appetizer and that easy delicious!! Only complaint the bread was crunchy which I don’t prefer but the food was all great I got the poke bowl appetizer as a meal but the portion was large. The view was great. Thank you guys !

We went to Las Brisas for lunch and had a really great time! The view is absolutely incredible—honestly, probably the best ocean view we’ve experienced at any restaurant in Laguna Beach. It’s such a beautiful spot, and it’s right next to a lovely rose garden which adds to the whole experience. The food is Mexican-influenced—nothing too impressive taste-wise, but still decent. That said, the atmosphere, the service, and that view totally make up for it. I’m giving it five stars for the overall vibe. Perfect place if you’re looking for a scenic, relaxing lunch spot.

Google
Las Brisas in Laguna was a full-on experience. We came with a big group to celebrate my business partner’s birthday and not one person had a bad thing to say about the flavor of the food. We were all starving to begin with, so when the tortilla chips, salsa, and bean dip hit the table, it was game over. I’m not even exaggerating when I say the salsa and bean dip stole the show. We kept ordering more because it was just that good and addictive. I ordered the mole enchiladas and the flavor was right on. Rich, bold mole with a nice creamy topping and a little sprinkle of something crunchy on top that added texture. My only real complaint was the portion size for the price. For around forty bucks, I expected something a little more filling. A few others in our group felt the same with their entrees like the shrimp dish and ahi tuna. Flavor was there, just not enough food. One friend ordered the short ribs and those were a big win. He was stoked with how tender they were and how well the sauce came through. All that said, the view here is absolutely unmatched. You are right there with the waves crashing in the background and that perfect ocean breeze. The ambiance alone makes this a spot worth checking out, especially for a celebration or date night. Just be ready to spend and maybe grab dessert somewhere after if you’re still hungry.

What a wonderful place!! Las Brisas restaurant (a long time ago, Victor Hugos) located on Cliff Dr, Laguna Beach. We have been to Las Brisas many times, and this visit was especially outstanding. I'll discuss the food, but as good as it is, the special touch for us was our server, Frank, who was exceptionally attentive. He spoke with us about his life and long-time association with Las Brisas, and a real bonus was that he shared with us a folio he has put together about Las Brisas, it's origin and history, with great photos. Frank made this visit especially memorable. Food: Mexican food is the speciality, and it's all have made at the time of ordering. I ordered the huevos rancheros. The egg was done perfectly, the sauce was excellent. My wife had the lemon ricotta pancakes, fluffy, topped with blueberries and lemon zest and a large serving of the lemon ricotta. The food was perfect. We lingered to talk with Frank and enjoy his collection of photograph memorabilia. We will return, of course, and hope to have Frank as our server. You must try Las Brisas!

Fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable! 🥗🔥 Warm crispy chips with guac and that amazing spicy green salsa — absolutely addictive. 🌶️ The grilled chicken was tender and served hot, and the enchiladas were HUGE, bursting with flavor in both red and green sauce. 🌮 Generous portions, great prices, fast service, and unbeatable ocean-breeze atmosphere. 🌊 Friendly staff made it a perfect 5-star lunch! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Google
The service was great from the moment that we arrived to the table they placed us at. The servers were really good, but they were very aggressive about clearing off the table, even though we had food still in them. For example, there was bread in the basket and they kept trying to remove it even as we were eating it. There were oysters and they kept wanting to walk away with the tray. It was a little weird. But they were a couple of servers who had great personalities. Atmosphere was incredible with a view of the ocean and the cool of the breeze and the outdoor air. I’m just being honest, but the food was just ordinary. It was good, but it wasn’t great. We paid +$100 per person. The only thing that we truly enjoyed Without complaints was the environment being next to the sea and some of the servers.

Google
What a wonderful brunch at Las Brisas with a view that was phenomenal. We pulled into the Valet parking and Wilson and the team of Valet attendants are skilled at what they do and deserve a shout out in praise. It's a smaller lot and these guys can arrange the cars like masters in a game of chess. The hostess and host at the outside dining area were very professional and kind. We were seated at a lovely oceanfront table. Gordon was our server extraordinare and was professional, skilled and very cordial. We ordered the brunch which was simply fantastic. Of course we started with our favorite Don Julio Blanco with club soda and three limes muddled with mint, ok a few and they were wonderful. I had the pozole appetizer and my wife had the caesar salad. Our entrees were the enchiladas as my wife had chicken enchiladas and I had the steak and lobster enchiladas. Both dishes came with rice and beans and were simply amazing. Also the poppy seed bread was scrumptious. Gordon and the entire staff at Las Brisas were fantastic and so efficient and kind. The manager also brought my wife a straw and I watched him sprint as if a linebacker was chasing him and he scored the touchdown. Very nice! The dining experience was such a blessing and we are thankful to the chefs, service staff and valet attendants. Job well done and great experience. We will see you again soon. Highly recommended 👌

Google
The atmosphere here is beautiful, especially with the ocean view, it’s a great place to unwind. The service was friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. However, the food was a bit disappointing. The portions were small, the flavors didn’t stand out, and to top it off, the food wasn’t even warm when it arrived. Foods and drinks were just okay, nothing special! It’s a nice spot if you’re after a great view and a stylish setting, but for the price, I expected better quality.

Yelp
Food was great, red wine was lovely, service was good. it was a large conference crowd of 30+ people and was booked late. The stag handled the crowd admirably. The Malbec and Nebbiolo wines I tried were top notch. Grilled green beans were particularly good.

Yelp
I recently dined at La Brisa and the service was exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome most especially Mr. Ricardo and well taken care of. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations. The timing of the courses was perfect, and they checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The service really enhanced the overall dining experience. I'll definitely be returning!

Yelp
We went to Las Brisas and give it 5 stars! The best waiter is Ricardo. He's very professional, attentive, friendly and one of the best servers we have ever encountered!!! Ask for Ricardo when you come to this restaurant & enjoy the wonderful food and beautiful ocean view.

Yelp
4.5 stars! Went for Sunday brunch to celebrate our engagement. Everyone was very sweet and congratulated us. They gave us complimentary cheesecake with a candle. The weekend brunch menu is a prix fixe. Starts with sweet bread, fruit, appetizer, main dish, dessert. I loved my Caesar salad. It was flavorful and fresh. We got crab omelet and suadero baked eggs. They were generous with the crab!! Amazing. The suadero was flavorful, savory and the eggs cooked to perfection. The fruit was not too ripe but oh well. We got both the gelato and flan for dessert. Loved the flan. Drinks were tasty. My fiancé got a Bloody Mary and I got a mojito. Wasn't too strong. We sat outside because we wanted to get the view. There's also seating inside by the windows if you want the view but don't want to sit outside.

Yelp
3.5 stars? Oh please! This place is awesome!! I've been coming here for years and have always had a great time!! Came in by my lonesome, so I sat at the bar. Was greeted and served by Jose. He is a professional! Loved the conversation and drinks! Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and decided on a margarita for dessert, since I was having such a good time. Plus, it's a beautiful restaurant. I'll be back. It's a Laguna staple.

Yelp
Just had an amazing experience at Las Brisas Restaurant. Our server Ricardo was an absolute gem--so full of energy and genuinely friendly. He made us feel right at home, and his enthusiasm was contagious. Also super funny! Not only did he take great care of us, but he also shared a verbal tour of the city since me and my team are from New York, pointing out cool spots and hidden gems. It felt like we were chatting with a friend. And the food? Totally delicious! Each dish was packed with flavor. The whole vibe made for an unforgettable meal, and I can't wait to come back! 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
My husband and I went here for dinner the other night. We loved the food and would have eaten more if we could fit it! We had a great server, Marcos - he even helped us with some photos. The food is delicious and view even better!

Yelp
My husband and I came here for Labor Day weekend, definitely recommend to make reservations for holidays, it was busy! Service was amazing and the ambiance was perfect and beautiful to sit outside during the summer! The food, was great! Honestly the whole experience was! For Starters we got the bone marrow which came with sourdough bread and side of garlic confit that had a kick of spice! Sooo good, we usually do not like fat on meat but this was *chefs kiss*. The Fried Seabass on top of a masa bread, wow was so flavored and the right portion! If you are in LB and looking for a great date night by the beach, this is it!

Yelp
I tried Las Brisas on a recent trip to Laguna Beach, recommended by my sister since her and her family have been going there for years. There is only street parking, but we were lucky enough to find a spot right at the front. The plan was to take a walk and have dinner before heading back home so it worked out it perfect. Once we were ready to have dinner, there was not a long wait. We entered the restaurant and it did look somewhat outdated but I feel as it is part of the restaurant's charming. We asked to be seated at the patio. As soon as we sat, we noticed a better table was unoccupied so we asked the waiter if we could move and happily accommodated. That elevated the visit one hundred percent. I couldn't stop seeing how nice the view was. We ordered water, drinks, enchiladas and chile relleno. The food was good, but my favorite part was the view. After dinner we walked around and even experienced an elaborated proposal. If you visit, you must seat at the patio. The restaurant is right at the corner and beginning of a walkway so it is very enjoyable.

Yelp
We had brunch here over the weekend to celebrate a special occasion. Our experience was underwhelming even with the beautiful oceanfront views of Laguna Beach. We chose to valet instead of the metered street parking since it was a busy Saturday. Once our full party arrived, we were seated in the outdoor covered patio. It was overcast skies for most of the afternoon. Nonetheless, the weather was pleasant to dine outdoors. Our server was friendly but not that attentive. He rarely checked on our table. We had to flag him down to order drinks. He even forgot to deliver a coffee that we requested at the beginning of our meal. I've heard that the weekend brunch was a must try, but I felt that it was overpriced for the quality of the food. The weekend brunch is served from 8am-3pm. It is a 4-course prix fixe menu at $52 per person, which includes bottomless mimosas. You are served fresh seasonal fruit and pan dulce for the table. For starters, some of our group ordered the smoked salmon tostaditas, pozole verde, and Caesar salad. The apps were all tasty. Next up - the main entrees: ***Steak and Lobster enchiladas served with rice and beans. The enchiladas were tasty. I preferred the tender steak option over the lobster. **Crab Omelet - not a good choice! The crab did not taste fresh with a strong seafood smell. ***Al pastor Omelet - ordered by others in our group. They ranked it as ok, but nothing to rave about. We finished off brunch with dessert. We chose both the sorbet trio and traditional flan. I enjoyed the dessert more than the actual entrees. The service and food were average at best! I checked it off my bookmarks and won't be back anytime soon.

Yelp
Looking for good food with an amazing view beach side? Las Brisas is your place! Parking: I found street parking but I'd say it's pretty limited. There's also valet for $10! The food: +_Chips and Salsa/guacamole - maybe we were hungry but these chips were delicious, freshly made and all the salsas and guacamole were tasty. I may have accidentally gotten full just eating all of the chips hahaha. +_Chicken Mole Enchiladas (mole sauce, toasted sesame seeds, black beans, rice) - my boyfriend ordered this and I stole a few bites hahah. I thought it was well seasoned and the beans and rice were good. +_Shrimp Tampiquenos (mexican prawns, corn, rice, white wine garlic sauce) - I ordered this and I AM SO GLAD I DID, 100/10! The shrimp was fresh, and the sauce was so flavorful. My boyfriend said he liked my order more than his! +_Seared Sea Scallops (cauliflower purée, tomatillo, green olives, sparkling wine beurre blanc, choice of one side) - I got to try a bite of these scallops and they were good! A little salty for me and the plate came with 4, which I thought was a little pricy for $52. +_Tomahawk Steak (guajillo dry rub, salsa verde, salsa roja) - this was a show stopper, came out in a huge cutting board and cooked to medium rare perfection BUT for some reason we never got a steak knife hahahaahh. We only had the butter knives and it seemed a bit absurd to serve a $175 steak to leave customers with butter knives. +_Butternut Squash Tamales (pasilla chile, queso oaxaca, guajillo sauce) - I was originally going to order this but I'm glad I didn't. It definitely fell short of expectations, a little more cheese would've helped it I think and some salt. It tasted a bit bland, not something I'd recommend ordering. 4/10 We ordered a couple of drinks - Mai tai, peach martini, and peach floral spritz. I wouldn't say anything wow-ed us but the drinks were strong! Martin was our server and he was great, very attentive and welcoming - funny too! When we asked for the check, he asked if we were celebrating anything and we were! He said he'd be back with some dessert which ended up being a cheesecake that tasted delicious. We booked a sunset reservation and it was so nice to be by the beach. The view was gorgeous and as soon as the sun went down, servers pulled out the heaters and they are WARM! Kept us toasty throughout our meal. Prices are definitely inflated here but the service, view, and food (majority of them), are on par with the amenities of ambiance you get.

Yelp
So, what's great about Las Brisas? First, the ocean view is spectacular. (I'll attach a photo I took right outside of the restaurant.) Even if you don't have a table right by the windows you can see the ocean. And there are dozens of outdoor tables as well. Second, you can make a reservation so if they're busy the wait isn't bad. Third, we were seated promptly. And when the folks at a nearby table were a little too loud, we were moved to another table by a cheerful waiter. Fourth, the food is delicious. Not your standard Mexican fare (which is good because it is a little pricey). Fifth, we had great service. Our waiter, Matt, was very attentive and friendly. He did a great job. Sixth, like I said, the food is a bit pricey. But I did not feel bad about the prices because the overall experience was so positive. Seventh, I will glad go there again when I'm in the Laguna Beach area.

Yelp
Amazing view! Beautiful restaurant! Good service! But okay food. I would call it healthy, Americanized, spanish food? You're paying for the view. Guacamole and chips 3/5. Kind of bland and undersalted. Chips were not warm. (Maybe I was expecting it to be warm?) Shrimp Tampiquenos 5/5. I liked my plate. It was creamy and perfectly cooked. My friend got the Shrimp and Crab Rellenos and did not like it. The bathroom has amazing, thick quality napkins! LOL

Yelp
Great view!!! We made reservations. They were very busy. It's hard to find parking, but we were lucky. We had a reservation for 630, we got there early and was asked to wait. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks. And we were seated when the tables became available We weren't very hungry, so we ordered appetisers We also ordered chips and salsa. But the salsa came much much later. Service was a little slow, but they were also flooded with people, being that it was in such a pretty location Food was not bad but the scenic view made up for it

Yelp
I've been here for dinner and brunch. The brunch was a little underwhelming. Food was good but for what you pay I was a little disappointed. Dinner on the other hand was good. Steak was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Service is always good. Good amount of seating. Parking can be a hassle and valet can get full.
google avatar

Yelp
Keep In mind you are paying for the scenery here. Pre fixed 4 course menu on weekends for brunch. $5 (pre tax). 8 of 10 entrees are included in this price, otherwise you pay extra. 3 of 4 eggs Benedict force you to pay extra. Extra $25 for bottomless mimosas. Not bad seeing as how ONE DRINK IS 15+ here. Ok so the views are AMAZING!!! Seriously feels like a part of Italy I visited. So gorgeous out here. Very busy in the summer and all metered parking. This place does have valet in the back apparently. I didn't see any signs though so I end up finding my own spot at a meter not too far away. So much foot traffic here to get to the beach as well. This spot is small. Has a decent sized outdoor seating. Seating is pretty close to each other but not too crazy where we sat at. Ordered the pozole verde, chilaquiles, and traditional flan. The food here is very mediocre. They're definitely paying for the views because it's not obviously worth it to come here for just the food. Prices were very over priced because of location. You come here for location not for the food.
google avatar

Anna T.

Yelp
Food is mediocre at its best. The brunch menu is awful. Stale bread and tortillas. $52 for granola , 2 quarter size tortillas with stale dry salmon ,lettuce wasn't fresh. Crab omelette was disgusting, and steak felt like chewing on a rug. Flan tasted like something you buy for a $1 at stater brothers. Service was ok. I paid $200 for the view

Yelp
Went for brunch on Sunday and had the best time. Ask to be seated inside! It's cooler and the way better views! We sat at table 47 and had a great server Rudy! He was awesome. Okay on the weekends it's a $52 4 course prefix brunch menu. You cannot order off the regular menu until 3:00 pm. They also have unlimited mimosas and bloody Mary's for $25 a person. You can mix and match, I started with a bloody Mary and then switch to mimosas for the rest of the brunch. First course is fresh fruit and pastries. The warm coffee cake was my favorite. My wife loved the fruit and said it was delicious. Second course I had the pozole and my wife had the Caesar salad. The pozole was probably the best thing I had the entire meal I highly recommend it. The salad was great as well. Third course I had the steak and lobster enchiladas and my wife had the French toast. Both were amazing! Fourth course we got the sherbet to share and took a flan home for later. The service, food, bottomless drinks and views make this place amazing! We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Well a large group of us went on Friday afternoon for a work event and sat on the patio. First and foremost we had the most amazing server - he was so attentive to each one of us at the two tables asking us if we would like a cocktail or drink many times never leaving us thirst or wanting something. The other servers came by always adding fresh ice water to the two large tables as well . My drink was Aperol Spritz . We did after 1 1/2 hours out our lunch order in and did receive our food order after being there 2 1/2 hours so we were all pretty hungry and by the 3rd hour we received our desert. I had a soup to start and the lobster and steak enchiladas- that day I was eating light and just ate my lobster enchilada and I can say it was pretty good . For desert they served a choice of flan or chocolate cake with filling and raspberry drizzle. The cake was light and quite large great for two . We sat outside on the patio with the most amazing Laguna Beach View worth a million dollars. They offer valet parking IF you are lucky enough to get Valet if the lot is not FULL . If it is just drive around and wish for your own parking Angels like I do as we found meter parking only 6 spaces away from the door . The meter was $10 for 4 hours . Over all if you enjoy spicy Mexican flair food not your typical menu come to Las Brisa's , The severs are amazing - 5-5 The food 3-5 Drinks 4-5 They do have a pretty good selection. My sister ordered a margarita. I'm glad I didn't I don't like them on the rocks . Ambiance 5-5 Best there is in Laguna Beach for sure . Thank you to our server for sure for making this day so special- you were amazing !!!!

Yelp
Would definitely go here for mainly the view of the ocean. You can get that both indoor and outdoors here. Perfect spot for watching the sunset. If I had to compare these dishes to other restaurants, they were just okay. The fries were unfortunately soggy, which was a bit surprising. Despite that the halibut was cooked well. Wanted to order an espresso martini but I as told it would be made with chocolate liquor and couldn't modify it. I was appreciative that the waiter told me this in advance, otherwise I would've sent it back. The service was great. Was able to make a rsvp here. There's street and valet parking. Would come back to try more appetizers and see if I have a better overall experience.

Yelp
One Thing remains constant at Las Brisas and that's the view. People return decade after decade including us for many reasons but yesterday, we just got the view. Gracious is certainly one word that you would never use to describe our visit, and it started at the door. The hostesses are SNOBS, Just condescending and unconcerned about any kind of smile or welcome. The next person we encountered was the well-spoken bartender that just couldnt be bothered to help us find a server. We had been at the table for more then 10 minutes without any kind of approach from anyone and then waited another 5 minutes before he finally sent a young lady our way. No hellos or greeting of any kind and she looked as if she just walked in the door after riding a bike to work. At that point "what can I get you" was actually a relief. Service started out pretty rough and it never got better. Slow service and absent server only offered excuses that the kitchen was slow or someone took my tray. I really don't care but if she wouldn't smile after we were welcomed by check-point-charley and an aloof bartender our visit was all downhill from that. At the end of our meal an awkward busser came to clear plates that had been sitting far too long, he cleared half the dishes and left the rest. I had to ask for my first Iced tea refill and it was poured from a pitcher that all the Ice had melted and what was left was an almost clear brownish green liquid, nothing like my fist glass, I could see in the bussers eyes that he knew it wasn't right and completely void of any Ice, but he just set it down and walked away and nobody returned to our table after that. After our meal we had to go to the bar to find our server to pay so we could finally get the f out of there. Eventually the bartender provided our check. On our way out we saw our server approach us but only to walk through/between us as we offered thank you's to her as a salutation that we were leaving, she never looked back. Passing the front desk there were no thank you's or goodbyes, just soulless blank stares. I am a 40-year hospitality employee, in the 80's I managed The Rusty Pelican in Newport Beach just a few miles to the north and have worked in various capacities in some of the best restaurants in the southwest. My dining companions owned a business across the street, and the other, a long time Laguna Beach resident. As a restaurant manager I know what it's like to have a bad day, but this was just awful and far from just a bad day, it was an infection of moral. When you visit a restaurant that charges 20 bucks and up for margaritas $17.00 for chips and salsa and offers steaks for $175.00 you tend to expect more, and we did. Between the 4 of us we accounted for over a hundred visits in the past, mostly wonderful, but yesterday we all said Never Again! Take your chance at Las Brisas and enjoy the million-dollar view- you are paying for it!

Yelp
Random night in the city. Cute little restaurant. Parking was hard to find but overall good

Yelp
Overall had an exceptional experience at Las Brisas. Food was tasty, service was excellent, and we had a gorgeous view! We came for the 52$ brunch special and it was an eventful of food! We started off with delicious and warm pan Dulce and fresh fruit. As appetizer I had the salmon tostadas and they were so cute and delightful. I had the suadero eggs and they were tasty but way on the saltier side for me and the chilaquiles were okay. The Trio of sorbets and the lemon drop martini were refreshing! Would love it return.

Yelp
Sub-par food that is expensive. Withered Caesar salad with stale croutons and so much salad dressing so everything felt soggy. Black beans not hot Out of Diet Pepsi but didn't tell me as I waited 15minutes for my drink. They have the view and that is what you'll pay for.
google avatar

Carolyn G.

Yelp
The view is beautiful! Valet parking was very helpful! Tipped them well! The service was good! The waiters were very attentive! All Of that was great! I was completely saddened that for the costs involved f the food and drinks our Tomahawk steak dinner was going to be overcooked. You can't fix that. So to have to pay $175 for the dinner not including everything else only to have it overcooked and no flavor ruined our dinner experience. My husband and I were there with a group and a few others were not satisfied with their meals either. So for the price of dinner for 11 of us I expected more.

Yelp
View: 5/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 I was with family in the area and after walking around the trails at Crystal Cove-- we stopped by Las Brisas for a quick post-walk lunch. There is easily accessible valet parking for $10, which I highly recommend. We had burgers and ordered a side of chips, salsa, and guacamole for lunch. The burger was 5/5 with an even sear cooked medium well. The brioche bun was buttered and toasted. The salsas and guacamole were 3.5-4/5. The guacamole had no seasoning other than cotija cheese. But-- if you mix both the red salsa and the tomatillo salsa with the guacamole, it tastes pretty decent. Our servers and other staff were extremely nice and helpful, they really made our dining experience special. I think this place would be a wonderful spot at sunset. And I definitely will be coming back to have dinner with my husband to give the other dinner items a try.

Yelp
A good time with friends and family- we made reservations for a Saturday Father's Day weekend brunch. The restaurant is large with several dining options: inside with amazing views or not and parties can sit outside in comfort. Parking is limited and it is $10.00 for 3 hours, $5.00 after every 1/2 hour. The lot is small but valet parking is a must. The waiters, attendants are always coming and refilling drinks. The Brunch was $52.00 per adult and extra $25.00 for bottomless Mimosas. The set menu we chose included pan dulce and fruit. We chose the salmon which was divine. A salad was also chosen by another guest. I chose the lobster enchiladas (2) came with black beans and rice. Other guests choose: hamburger, steak and eggs (+12.00 extra) sudado eggs. The menu included a choice of flan which was good and plenty, the other choice was a trio of sorbets. We had a birthday celebration and the cheesecake offered looked good- our birthday person did not share. It is a nice place to treat yourself if you have the funds.

Dub C.

Yelp
Ambiance was great; view of the water was very nice. Restaurant had valet parking. Food was just ok, to be honest. Nothing bad but nothing very special either. Service was extremely poor but I think it was specific to our waiter, as other tables were being served more regularly (and had arrived and left while we were still waiting on food/beverage refills).

Yelp
We visited on Labor Day for brunch. The restaurant is really gorgeous and we sat outside overlooking the ocean. They have a lot of umbrellas as it can get really hot. The staff was extremely kind and attentive. The food was delicious, maybe a little bit overpriced, but you are getting an amazing view.

Yelp
Growing up, I had this intense need and want of a memory when I was younger. A memory of a restaurant near the beach, and nachos that I forever remember as being the best nachos. Just with the exact cheese I like. Ones that I couldn't find anywhere else on my journey growing up. One day I finally remembered to ask my parents, thinking that they wouldn't remember. But they did. And so we went for a nice weekend brunch out. I was devastated to hear that they no longer made those nachos. And that you could request, but only ahead of time or some other thing. That said, my family and I still had a great time, my mom enjoying the seafood and my father enjoying the steak. Of course, all of us enjoying the company, view, and service. But I was stubborn, I had to figure out a way to get them again. Those nachos. So a different day, my partner wanted a nice day out and I suggested here. We went, and this was the trip that these pictures are from. It was not busy, we were seated quick, and though we changed our seating a few times, they were nice and the server was kind. More than kind actually, because as he came around to get my order, I couldn't help but ask about those nachos. It seems that after popular demand, they did have the nachos. But only at the bar. I couldn't believe it. Of course I didn't want to just get up and leave the server, so I just said we'd order what we meant to order anyways, and then head to the bar after for nachos. The server looked at me and said "let me see what I can do." Lo and behold, I got my nachos, my partner's ceviche, and my beef carpaccio at my table. So easy enough to say, the view is to die for, the restaurant looks alright since the interior gives me a stuffy feeling sometimes (they had not updated their looks much). The service was way too great. And though my child brain built these nachos up too much, I was still transported to that childlike happiness after achieving to find/have them. And the rest was great too. Parking is crap.

Yelp
The view, the service and the food was unreal. We shared the ceviche, lobster/steak enchiladas and each got a different margarita. A little on the pricier side but it is worth every penny

Yelp
Las Brisas is a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful ocean view. We came here for brunch on a weekday and had a nice table in the sun room overlooking the ocean. We ordered the French toast and the Chilaquiles with added chicken. The French toast was definitely the winner here. It was topped with decadent berries and was just super delicious. The Chilaquiles were good too but the chicken was a little dry. This was a very heavy meal but it was very tasty.

Yelp
Breathtaking views! Came up here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. The parking can be challenging, it is a very busy area but they do have valet. We came at 1 PM and it was already full. We ended up finding street parking, but it took about 15 minutes. Well worth it! We sat right in front of the Pacific Ocean and got their brunch special which came with different pastries, fresh cut up fruit and berries and your choice of an appetizer. I got the smoked salmon tostadas which came with two tostadas. My friend got the posole soup which she said was delicious! And my other friend got a yogurt granola mix which she also enjoyed. For our main entrees, we ordered the steak and lobster enchiladas. crab omelette and French toast. For $25 extra you get bottomless bloody Mary's and mimosas. The customer service was perfection! Our waiter was attentive and constantly had our bloody Mary's and mimosas. Definitely will be coming back to try other menu items and enjoy the beautiful Pacific ocean.

Yelp
Where so I even begin? Service - 2/5 : the service alone really could make a person walk out of this place! Our server came a total of 3 times. 1) to take our order 2) take our drinks and 3) the bill! Idk how many times I asked for a heater but i know it never came! I watched tables around me get heaters but not my table. I even watched them turn on a heater only to get it ready for the next person who needed one. I asked a bus guy to get a heater and he said okay AGAIN and it AGAIN never came. This is awful considering we had our baby with us! I didn't have to ask for the check twice though. That came pretty quickly after the first time asking for it. Making this first Mother's Day celebration kick off a terrible one! Food - 1/5 : I will say it's edible! The tuna poke was not fresh, the oysters were small, the spicy broccoli was flavorless, and the roasted chicken was mostly dry! The only thing this place has going for itself is truly truly the view! maybe if I ever come back I'll try something else but I don't see myself returning. This was just truly truly an awful restaurant. But if you want to come for a view just do drinks, I guess! I probably wouldn't come back for that either!!

Yelp
Las Brisas is a fantastic brunch spot with an unbeatable ocean view. The service and food were exceptional. Mario, the manager, went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience, making sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The hanger steak was cooked amazing, and the "Love Potion #5" cocktail was a delightful addition. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food paired with attentive and welcoming service!

Yelp
Absolutely exceptional! My mother and I came here for breakfast and were blown away by how tasty the chilaquiles and French toast were. It's 3am and I am literally craving this !!! Additionally, the view is stunning and service was wonderful; I even met the manager Adaline who was very nice!

Yelp
I had an awesome experience dining at Las Brisas. We sat on the patio, oceanside. They provide an excellent balance of sun and shade. We ordered the chicken wings which were 10/10. Entrees weren't lacking either; I ordered the kale salad with blackened salmon and Ryan ordered the surf & turf enchiladas. The food tastes amazing, you can tell the kitchen cooks with love.

Yelp
The ambiance is awesome. The food is well prepared, and they all tasted superb. The service was definitely not up to par. We felt ignored by our server.

Yelp
You can't go wrong by dining here. You have a gorgeous view of Laguna Beach overlooking the cliffs and the food is excellent. We ordered guacamole, salsa and chips for the table which was very fresh. I ordered the chef's salad with shrimp. It comes with romaine, radish, avocado, pepitas and crispy tortilla chips. The shrimp were big and I was really satisfied with it. Someone else at the table had the chopped vegetable salad which is olives, cucumber, goat cheese and avocado. **TIP - The chopped vegetable salad doesn't come with lettuce. It is indeed a chopped vegetable salad only. All in all we had a very nice lunch over looking the pacific ocean.

Yelp
We sat outside, the views and the sounds of the waves were amazing! Our server, Michelle, took excellent care of us! She was so sweet & helpful. I got the steak & lobster enchiladas and the espresso martini (quite the pairing... i know, but they were both incredible).

Yelp
The food was decent but nothing WOW. The hostess had an attitude and didn't make us feel very welcome. Our server was friendly.

Yelp
My first time here and it was a Friday at about 11:00 so we opted for breakfast. Our food was outstanding! Strongly recommend the lobster Benedict. My friend chose that and I got the Florentine because I wasn't sure how the richness of the sauce would play with the lobster. Outstanding! Mine was very good too though. Our server (Frank H.) was excellent. Very personable and has been with the restaurant a very long time. Gorgeous views of the ocean as well - I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Made a reservation for 8:15 on a Saturday night to celebrate my anniversary. I've been to this restaurant before and was quite impressed with the view, service, and food, so I figured why not come again. Unfortunately, my experience this time around was not as great. We arrive at 8:10 to check in and are notified to wait in the crammed lobby/bar with many other parties waiting. I actually got too claustrophobic and went outside to wait. It is about 8:30 now and I check to see if our table is ready, but still isn't, so we wait in the seating area as it cleared up by then. On OpenTable, I specifically requested a table outside but when the hostess came up to me, she asked if I wanted to stay inside or out. I let her know that I reserved an outside table to which she responded, "the wait is going to be a lot longer if you choose to sit outside rather than in." I let her know that I specifically wanted to sit outdoors as it was a beautiful night and I preferred the beautiful view, plain and simple! Another 10 mins go by and another hostess comes up to us. She mentioned that if we want to be seated already, she can get us a table inside by a window ASAP, but if we wanted to wait for an outdoor table, it could be another 30-45min. At this point, it's already 8:40 and my reservation was at 8:15. We ended up taking the indoor table. We waited another 10-15min before she came back and sat us. This was just the beginning of our horrible experience. We sit down by the window (which was terrible seating as there were no lights visible outside from where we were sat and it just looked pitch black outside) and we were right next to a huge party! It was only us, as a couple, and the huge party in that section! Our first server, Jose, got our drinks and appetizers, then handed us off to Matt to assist further. After we got our appetizers and drinks, we waited a good 30min before our server, Matt came to take our order. Now, Matt did mention that they were understaffed so in no way am I bashing him as a waiter, just explaining my experience. He noticed our chips were gone and offered to get us more as he rung in our order. We waited for a refill on water, a refill on chips, just to get checked on, but no one came to our table. Another 30mins go by (it's about 9:50 now) and our food finally comes out (he forgot our chips ) but at this point my husband and I were just hungry and wanted to dig in. We wrapped dinner up around 10:30 (no one checked on us the whole time) and we were ready for the check. No waiter was around, so my husband got up to use the restroom, and when he came back, he asked our waiter to get us the check. Matt was sweet and told my husband that he'll bring us dessert on the house which was very thoughtful as my husband and I were celebrating our love. I was honestly so tired at this point and wanted to just pay and go, possibly get the dessert to-go as well but we ended up waiting another 20mins. Once we got the dessert boxed and our check, we went up to Matt (we didn't want to wait even longer for them to pick up the check) and we left. We even paid in cash so we didn't have to wait to get our card back. It was unfortunate that I didn't have the experience I wanted to. This place has a great ambiance and good food, but service that night was not great. It all started when I specifically reserved an outdoor table and was not granted one, when things went downhill. Now I understand with it being a Saturday night, them being understaffed, whatever the situation was as to why we may of had this bad experience but I do not know if I would be returning.

Yelp
Came here for my mother's birthday. We asked for patio seating as we had our dog with us. The staff were extremely attentive and accommodating. Food was great. We got an array of dishes, the favorite was the Shrimp tampiquenos- 4 out of 6 of us ordered it. They were gracious to split a plate for my elderly parents. The ribs were fantastic- huge portion. Salsa and chips were great. We brought a cake and the staff was gracious enough to store, cut and serve it. The views were beautiful- we caught the sun setting in the middle of dinner. Parking can be an issue as the lot is small, plenty of parking up the street in the neighborhoods. Would definitely come back again.

Yelp
Amazing beach views! Amazing and attentive staff! Went for brunch, the course meals were delicious and there were a variety of choices. Cute brunch spot! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Great customer service and decent food, but I expected more from a 4-course breakfast. The bread was overly sweet, like store-bought, and the rice and beans were dry and bland. The rest of the meal lacked flavor, though the scenery was amazing with a great view of the beach. I'd return for dessert, but not breakfast. Not sure about lunch or dinner, but breakfast fell short.

Yelp
Location is unbeatable!! The pictures give the view and ambiance away highly recommend for brunch. You can buy gift cards from local Costco to make the bill slightly cheaper or sign up for the mailing newsletter and they give you $$ off your bill. Can be pricey but 100% worth it for the experience + the food!! Don't be overwhelmed by the 3 course + menu. You will be full but overwhelmed with food.

Yelp
My wife and I have been dinning at Las Brisas for nearly two decades. Our recent visit this month was our first disappointing meal. What the heck happened to the food? Overall 2 of out 5! The Shrimp and Crab Ceviche was TERRIBLE! 1 out of 5. Green weird sauce, large chunks of cucumber, no salsa / tomatoes. At a cost of cost $24 we were expecting more. Only ate about half of the dish, it was that bad. BRING BACK the Sea Bass Ceviche which was 5 out of 5. My wife ordered the poached Lobster for $62. 1 out of 5. Normally poached lobster is super soft and the more butter tasting over lobster. What was served was a piece of gristly favorless garbage! 1 out of 5. My wife couldn't chew it and ended up spitting it out in her cloth napkin. Took it home and tried to feed it to our cats, they just walked away from it too! Ordered my usual Las Brisas Margarita. The glass was filled to the brim with ice, so much so the only way I could drink it was with the straw! There MIGHT have been 15% Margarita, hence 1 out of 5. The good stuff..... The Ambiance, is a perfect 5 out of 5, can't go wrong on Cliff Drive in Laguna Beach! The Service, Sean and Shawn were great! 5 out of 5. The drive down 133 had no traffic and there was plenty of metered parking available. With tip and drinks we dropped over $300, we'll think twice about having dinner again.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere and Jose Curvo, my bartender has been there 28 years wow! He prepared a fantastic Eastside Cocktail! Enjoyed meeting Eduardo, the manager was very gracious and the staff is great! I had lunch here in the past with my artist friend and we just love the incredible views! Oh they have Happy Hour 3-6 pm daily I highly recommend them!
