Las Olas Café is a bustling South Beach ventanita dishing out crave-worthy Cuban sandwiches cut into perfect triangles, alongside fresh juices and vibrant coffee, making it the go-to for locals seeking authentic flavors.
"Las Olas is our favorite ventanita in South Beach. And like all good ventanitas, you can order Cuban coffee, croquetas, and one of the best Cuban sandwiches in Miami here. The fresh juice is a good thing to order too, especially if you're nursing a hangover. There are some tables inside the small restaurant, but it’s also a solid to-go option if you're on the way to the beach." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo
"Las Olas is a solid Cuban ventanita and cafeteria in South Beach. And they have the holy trinity of great post-beach things to consume: cafecito (for energy), fresh juice (for hydration), and one of Miami’s best Cuban sandwiches (for deliciousness). Consume all of the above and you will feel as happy as the seagull who stole that bag of potato chips right out of your hand." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
"The Beach: South Beach, between 5th and 7th Street. There are multiple sandwiches available at this South Becah ventanita. But we always go with the cuban sandwich here. They cut their sandwich thinner than any cuban sandwich we’ve seen around Miami. It makes every bite taste like the first corner bite, and also results in a skinny sandwich that's easy to eat while fending off local seagulls that have developed a taste for pork. You should also grab a juice or cafecito, both of which are excellent things to drink while staring at large bodies of water. " - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino
"The best Cuban sandwich you’ll find in South Beach is at this little ventanita. Perfect for before, after, or during the beach, the Las Olas Cuban is a great example of the kind of simple, classic version Miami does so well. We also really love how Las Olas cuts its sandwiches into ultra-thin triangles, so every bite tastes like that first corner bite (which we all know is the best one). You can sit down and eat it here, but there’s not much atmosphere, so consider grabbing it for a beach picnic." - ryan pfeffer
"You know how when sandwiches are cut into triangles, the first corner bite is always the best bite? Well, every bite of the cuban sandwich at this South Beach ventanita is like that. They cut their sandwich thinner than any cuban sandwich we’ve seen around Miami. We’re very bad at geometry, but we believe it could be a scalene triangle? Or perhaps an extreme isosceles-obtuse? Of course, it’s not just the shape that makes this great. There’s a generous portion of roast pork, a healthy amount of cheese, and Las Olas’ location makes it a perfect lunch to bring to the beach." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
