I discovered this cute little market when I was trying to find Olas, Ft. Lauderdale's signature sandman that hangs out at Las Olas and A1A every December. It looks like they are doing some construction where he usually sits and I finally found his bottom in Las Olas Oceanside Park where the market is held. I hope he gets it together before the holiday season ends.
The Las Olas Oceanside Park Market is held every Saturday from 9 to 4. I found metered parking on a side street but you can always park at the garage. You couldn't ask for a prettier backdrop for the market with the ocean across the street. Right now the park has a number of holiday decoration and an ice skating rink made with panels instead of real ice because it's South Florida after all.
On the day I visited the market had an eclectic mix of artisans, food vendors, and produce. Tents were selling gelato, smoothies, healthy waffles, acai bowels, colorful dresses, jewelry, embroidered towels, and ceramics. If you are in the mood for a snack or looking to complete your Christmas shopping, this beach side market has a little something for everyone.
