Las Tablas

Food was very good. Parking was not too bad, we found a spot quickly. Outdoor eating available. Atmosphere was a bit weird. TVs everywhere. A large screen tv literally next to a table on another table as you enter. More of a sports bar vibe with really good food. Bathrooms were clean. Service was not bad. Lunch specials are priced nicely, and dinner can be pricey. We were there for dinner about 6pm.

We sat outside on a weekday afternoon. We were the only people here. We got the empanadas which were good. The rest of the food we got was pretty bland. Portions were huge, quality not the best. Service was ok.

We were celebrating my mother’s birthday and we’re excited to eat here because we hadn’t been here in years. We get seated and the highchair was extremely dirty and broken to the point it was wobbling and you can see the wood separating. It could have easily broke at any moment and 100% would have pinched my babies skin. When I finally got their attention I had already gotten a new high chair myself and they took the broken one, and just put it back to use it again! Now I’m not just making this review about a high chair…. There is more! So it took 20 minutes for the server to approach us.. for background we were a party of 10 and there was only 1 other table there so it was not busy at all. Now when the server approached us they came a poured water , didn’t ask us if we wanted drinks just poured water and before we got a chance to order they left. 10 minutes later the server comes over with a man and they proceed to take our order. Now never in the history of any of my restaurant experiences has it ever taken that long to put an order in!! Let alone with 2 people!! I don’t know if she was training or what but it took so long and she kept getting the orders in wrong and the guy was helping her and she had a question for everything! She Cleary couldn’t handle it. It took 15 minutes to get our order in. Not joking!!! 15 minutes! They didn’t even ask us if we wanted anything to drink we had to ask the server to add that in after she took 15 min to put in our food order and she couldn’t process it. So I had to tally up how many cokes and juice etc.. so she could easily figure out how to input because everyone telling their individual order was too confusing. Okay so our order is finally put in…. We still have hope maybe it’s a one off new person whatever. So as we’re waiting for our food my mother notices a hair in one of the hot sauces on the table ( I included picture for proof) that was gross! Then we notice so many gnats flying around in the restaurant to the point we were swating them away and killing them. So gross! Now I’m at the point I want to leave this restaurant and at that moment our food shows up. I’m like okay whatever let’s eat and make the best of it we just won’t come back again. I wasn’t even gonna write a review I was just gonna let it slide and not come back. Now back to the food. We got the food and they got 3 of our orders wrong but we’re quick to correct. We ordered the kids cheese burger and it is not for a child! The burger was huge and they gave my kid yuca fries and he did not like it. I was like whatever we will keep the burger and my son split the chicken nuggets with his aunt. I should have sent the burger back or at the least requested regular fries but I am not the type of person to be picky. We ordered it so we kept it. But they should have asked us about the fries the menu says burger and fries. Anyways as we eat we obviously need refills on our drinks.. and nobody came by to the point we were drinking the free tap water on the table. By the time we could flag someone we finished our meal. Now I’m not saying I saw the server walking by and just didn’t ask them, I’m talking about they were missing. In the back of the restaurant and when they did come out they immediately had something else they had to do then attend to us. I noticed that while we were eating there was people who would show up to pickup food only to be told that their order wasn’t ready… so these people ordered their food, waited the amount of time they needed to drove to the restaurant and got there waited 10 min for someone to see them and then get told their order wasn’t ready. They then sat down and I kid you not.. waited like 20 min for their food to be cooked and they were very mad. So back to us, we are done eating and then want our bill. Luckily the server comes around and I ask for it, waited 10 min and nothing. I ask the other server waited 10 min and nothing… so I got annoyed and I got up and asked the server who was behind the bar and he finally gave it to me. We left so fast. Will never be back.

First time eating Columbian food. The place is outstanding. Our server was great. Always filling our waters, asking if we needed anything. I arrived around 12:30 they had just opened at noon. A few tables had guests. Met up with some friends from a past job we all had. Our nationalities all different but such a great time. I wish my plate would've had more but something about the rice tasted salty. I ate most of it. Looking forward to going back in the future to taste other items in the menu. Oh the music they play there is great!!! I hear it turns into a small club on the weekend amd I would love to go back and check it out for sure.

The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was good, not great, but good... This has been a regular spot for us for many years and they finally rehabbed the men's bathroom... The bathroom was always quite nasty, but now it looks quite impressive, although the one sink in there didn't work...At least it was finally clean... The service was good, but there appeared to be a lack of some understanding in getting some basic items that we wanted, i.e, water,etc...It was pretty consistent back and forth in getting their attention... Their food was damn tasty today... They were on the mark with everyone that was served...The chicken was just incredible and the plantains were absolutely on point today...It was overall very satisfying...

The Picada Colombiana was delicious. It had a little bit of everything - skirt steak, beef short ribs, grilled chicken, pork ribs, chorizo, arepa, fried plantain, sweet plantain, and potatoes. It also comes with rice and beans. It was a lot of food. Between 2 people we had left overs for the next day. The steak, chicken and chorizo were my favorite meats. Not a fan of the pork ribs but I also don’t eat a lot of pork. The sweet plantains were good as well as the fried plantains that are like tostones. It’s rare for me to like arepas as most places make them dry but these were really good. They had a cheese filling. The rice and beans were also good, however the portion sizes for those could’ve been better. The mojitos were refreshing not too strong. Got a mojito partly because it was part of happy hour but when we got the bill it somehow was not. If you’re getting drinks during happy hour make sure they are indeed the price listed. Besides that hiccup our waiter was nice.

I have absolutely had it with this place. I have had it with this employee who ruins our experience every time we come here. My guess is like 80% of the complaints about terrible service are about this guy. Ridiculously, unreasonably slow, always screws up your order, impossible to communicate with as it doesn't seem like he's all there upstairs. How he's still here years later is beyond comprehension. Today was the last straw. I did a phone order for pick up, which I did so my family could enjoy the food without the typical terrible service. Whoever was on the phone bizarrely asked for my home address even though it was a pickup order. I came there 40 minutes later as requested. No order waiting for me. This guy asks if I paid. I told him, ...No, I haven't been charged yet, I'm here to pick up the order. He tells me I have to pay first. I was like, uh, I ORDERED ON THE PHONE FOR A TO GO ORDER. I AM HERE TO PICK IT UP. He says there is no order. I have to pay. What do I want to do? So then I asked him, I just made an order on the phone, wasted 40 minutes waiting for it when it never went in, and now you want me to wait again? No apology, no explanation. Just staring at me with those sleepy, blank eyes and asking me repeatedly, "what do you want to do?" I'm done. Never coming back.

Visited again this summer during the Colombia soccer tournament games and it was a fun environment to watch the exciting games. Great atmosphere. DJ music, food is delicious, the service is very good. I'm not sure if they have live music but it would fun to hear

My husband and I went to Las Tablas in our neighborhood last night. We had only been there once and wanted to try it again. We got there early on a Thursday. There was only one other table of four seated already drinking margaritas. The host sat us and took our drink order. It took a long time for our drinks to arrive as the host repeatedly stopped to talk with another gentleman who was there not eating or drinking. I'm not sure if he worked there or not. I scanned the giant QR code at our table to look at the virtual menu because the paper menu had old prices scratched off with new prices written in with a pen, making their price increases very obvious. We waited and waited. After at least 10 to 15 minutes I awkwardly turned around to make eye contact with the host who was talking with the other gentleman. He took the cue and walked over to us, apologized, and took our order. I ordered the salmon "gently cooked". A while later the busboy delivered our food and I could immediately tell my salmon was extremely overcooked and it was supposed to be topped with two quail eggs. It was a $30 dollar salmon and just looked sad. No sauce. Just dry and plopped on the plate. I patiently ate my broccoli and waited for the host to come over and check on us. I waited and waited. Finally, I walked up to him behind the bar and ordered a daisy cutter for my husband and told him my salmon was missing the quail eggs. He said they didn't have daisy cutter even though it was on the menu so I said he'd have to come talk to my husband to see what other beer he wanted. A bit later he came over to tell me that the salmon didn't come with quail eggs. I asked why it said that on the menu and he argued with me and said that it didn't say that on the menu. I opened my phone and showed him and he said "that's an old menu". I said, "You should probably remove that QR code from the table and update your website then". At this point we were done and definitely won't go back.

I've been meaning to try Las Tablas for the longest and finally got the chance to enjoy a dinner here. Overall, I enjoyed my experience but I think there are a few things they could work on to give themselves a higher amount of returning customers. The vibe is a lot less stuffy/uppity than a typical steakhouse, which I found to be nice. I saw a band instrument set on a small stage that wasn't in use; but i could imagine it's fun when a band is performing on a special occasion. When looking over the menu it was clear they hadn't been wiped and had old crusty food on it, which I think is something that can be easily avoided. There was a food stain on the happy hour table menu as well so I feel they could put more love into the cleanliness of the place. Shared a couple beef empanadas and cheese empanadas with my mom. I could've devoured 7 more cheese empanada, they were delicious. I ordered a house-made strawberry lemonade and it was super refreshing but I was off put by the fact it was in a glass that clearly had just come out of the dishwasher and was uncomfortably warm... on top of that the drink had no ice so it was a no for me (until the server kindly brought me a side of ice) The steak I ordered was cooked to med-rare perfection and it paired so nicely with the side of asparagus we ordered. My only qualm about the entree was that the potatoes were undercooked and a little hard. I would come back if I'm craving Colombian, but it's not the place I'd go to impress any dates or out-of-town family.

Lots of space and it can get loud. Service was mediocre, it was not crowded and we had to correct the order of drinks and food several times. Too expensive for the experience. The Colombian Chichen soup was very good and the flan is excellent.

Just had a party of 6 for dinner, and service ok. Was disappointed with the food. The dishes were with skirt steak, and we ended up with A New York strip. Bar service was such a wait.....25 minutes for a coke? The table provided sauces were pretty tasteless. In the past they were so flavorful. The yuca served with steaks was so hard and dry, some pcs were barely cooked. A dish that was to have had a fried egg, was made with egg whites?! Probably our last time there

I really enjoyed my dinner! But the overall experience was only ok. There was nothing fascinating to talk about...maybe because of the time we dined. The place was fairly empty, but it was Saturday so I was surprise that there was no music or that it wasn't a little more of a crowd. We made reservations to make sure that we would not have an issue being seated. This was not an issue. Service: Everyone was attentive. If I had to mentioned an issue, it was the communication. We ordered several dishes; including an appetizer. The waiter confused our one appetizer ordered with the full plate ($17 versus $30) Good thing I notice prior to digging in. He seemed confused on how to handle this and stated he couldn't take it back and place the right order... This was a little odd. but eventually after some time he came back to the table and informed us that he ended up resolving and would be charging us the appetizer price for the dish. Food: Absolutely delicious! The portions were large. The meats were tender, and everything was seasoned well without the need for any sauces. Overall, nice place and worth visiting for the FOOD.

Surprised about the one star review on this place coz evetytime we go here the food is really good. We love their steaks so we always order the colombiana or matrimonio. Very tasty even the chicken. Especially if you dip it with their spicy chimichurri. The service could be slow if there are a lot of people on the table but thats always a problem now with restaurant industry because of lack of manpower. The music makes the place lively and always welcoming. It could be pricy but if served family style not bad at all

Unfortunately this place was really hyped up and was not what we expected. We were expecting a fancy restaurant but it felt very casual with the television and seating and overall atmosphere. We ended up only getting appetizers, and they were very expensive for the amount and quality of the food.

The food was really good. There where three of us on this visit and we orders a plate to share that fed us well and had left overs. The service was okay. Simply that okay as soon as we walked in we could tell it was going to take while we waited at the hosts stand for a few minutes before being seated then we're sat at our table for a little while before given the chance to order. The restaurant is self is not bad but very open so even if you are sitting off to the sides is can get loud. Over all not to bad good food with amazing flavor but not the most attentive service.

The food was excellent. It took them along time to take our order and I couldn't help but notice an older lady there with a service dog and they wouldn't take care of her because of the dog so she got up and left. they don't give you anything to munch on until your food gets there so I kinda asked and see if they had any bread for the table so they gave me some little fried plantain potato chips with some sauces until the food came, which was about at least 45 minutes . They also said they had to tell us the price before we ordered because they assumed that I could not pay for it. A little pricey, but the food was good.

Went for dinner with my daughters this evening and the service was horrible like no body wanted to take care of us since the minute we got there! Second they didn't bring us the order complete and third I ask for my steak medium rare and they brought it well done both steaks! We spend like $135 and barely got any attention from the staff! We had to be trying to catch their attention so they can come to table. Even the family next to us had to stand up twice to get help! Never going back there again ever! Forgot to mention the Octopus was hard so probably was undercooked

Disappointed. Used to love getting food from here until tonight. Ordered the matrimonio and was disappointed. Texture was awful, almost like biting into raw chicken. Every chew was fibrous. Didn't want to take a risk, so I didn't finish it. Also, the email order confirmation said our food would be ready by a certain time. We got there and then had to wait 10 minutes because the order wasn't ready.

My one of my favorite steakhouses. I love Colombian food and this is some of the tastiest steak you can have. I love the empanadas here but I don't over do the appetizers as I go straight for the steak and eat it all. My personal favorite here is the entrana which is a skirt steak and my second favorite is the ribeye. Normally I like a ribeye more but for some reason it's the entrana here 100% the steaks come with potatoes yuka and a delicious fried plantain. The chimichurri sauce is amazing and I drench my steak in it. I always add the side of rice and beans. It's the perfect South American meal. The staff here is super nice and it's a very charming decor. The service was a bit slow especially since it was late and empty and the rice and beans served to us were pretty cold otherwise I would give five stars. Live music some nights and they have outdoor seating available.

Are you on keto? Or do you just love meat? Well either way this is the place for you! We got the big combination platter for two and what a pile of meat that came out. All of the meat and starches were very well seasoned and cooked. The sauces complimented everything very nicely. We came mid afternoon and it started filling up soon after. Basically only one waitress working the whole room and I can see how some of the service issues arise in the other reviews. I think the bottom line is to go here for really well done South American grilled meat. Expect it to be bumpy, be patient and you'll have a great gastronomic experience! Some tweaking with service and drinks can take this place to the next level.

Love this place best empanadas I've ever had if you haven't tried it it's a must one of my favorite spots in time

Best carne asada!! Will definitely be back be here the staff is also very friendly! I love the way they serve food in the wooden trays.

Ok for them to call themselves a steakhouse and not know how to cook a steak medium is kind of ridiculous the only flavor on the meat was from the grill no seasoning at all.

Loving all kinds of food, I have not tried a Columbian restaurant until last night. Having a girls night out made the experience even more enjoyable. Our waitress was stupendous and helpful with the food selections. The pitcher of margarita was so tasty and easy to finish. The ambiance fits the Columbian food and there was live music on the weekends. I preferred the Latino music that they played toward the end of our dinner. Early on it was easy listening pop from the 50's. For appetizers we enjoyed the combination empanadas and my favorite was the cheese filled one. Dinner entrees were great. I tasted the ribeye served with yucca and plantains and enjoyed the meat cooked to perfection. I chose the combination of 2 and had the skirt steak with calamari. All the entrees were grilled perfectly seasoned well and very enjoyable. There was so much food and I will enjoy it for lunch! The restaurant is very clean, it's great for couples and larger groups or gatherings. I will definitely be back. It's located very near I-94 so perfect from the North Shore to meeting my friends from Avondale and Lakeview.

Simply the Best! On believable food, service, and ambience! For my money, I would much rather have a steak at this beautiful establishment then spend three times as much at a fancy steakhouse. Like Gibson's. The flavor is undeniable! Check your server well they took good care of you! one of my favorite Chicago venues in the sister location in Lakeview. It is also wonderful.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Terrible service, even when you have a reservation.

What a wonderful establishment! So happy to be supporting a local business. Although the service was a bit slow at first, the excellent food and hospitality by all the staff made up for it. That being said, we did come with a cranky 2 year old, and our moods were not the greatest. The server was hospitable and helpful and our food (and drinks) came promptly. The food was excellent. We had the seafood appetizer and it was well prepared. Even our 2 year old loved the grilled calamari and octopus, although the pink sauce was his favorite. He also mowed down his steak, rice, and beans,l; the beans were his favorite! He also adored the fruit plate. First time having papaya and he loved it! As for the adults, as I said, the seafood appetizer was wonderful. But, honestly, nothing was anything but. The steak was excellent! Arroz con pollo was delicious, and I look forward to it tomorrow as leftovers. They have someone performing during dinner and we were lucky enough to be right next to him. Sweetest man. And sitting right next to him, it was enjoyable, not too loud at all. I look forward to coming back and hopefully we weren't too much trouble

To preface, my rating has absolutely nothing to do with the food. I've been to Las Tablas multiple times over the past year and I enjoy the food every time. In fact, it's some of my favorite Colombian food in Chicago. However... the wait time is absurd. Mind you, I've only ever visited as a table for 2. You walk in and get seated very quickly, but it takes about 20 minutes to get a waiter over to take your food/drinks order and another 30 to get your food. Throughout this, rarely does a waiter come over to check up on the table. This is the same for getting the check. An outing that is supposed to take 30 to an hour of my time is stretched to nearly two hours, majority of which is spent waiting. Again, the food is great, hence my multiple visits, but I'm beginning to question if the wait is worth it. The restaurant has never been full when I attend (usually having a max of 3-4 tables seated) and yet this issue still remains. I really hope this problem is resolved, but in the meantime I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you have a schedule to uphold or don't especially like having to wave your server down for any sort of attentiveness.

Delicious food, subpar service. The patacones and the auras were delicious. The chicharrón, too! Nice, sunny place if you go for the happy hour, 2-6pm as the windows face south and lots of nice daylight. Speaking of happy hour, good luck actually getting the happy hour prices for drinks and the appetizers. Our waiter seemed to not understand any of the questions we had for him (we are bilingual English/Spanish, so it wasn't a language barrier...maybe it's because he had AirPods in while he was talking with us....) and told us all apps were half price. Not true. Only some are, but this is only published on the drink menu. The food is so worth it-the meats taste better than any Argentine steakhouse we have tried in Chicago. However, the restaurant needs to work on getting friendly, competent waitstaff who can listen and explain the menu and prices.

First Course * Chicharron with Arepa Second Course * Ajiaco (chicken soup) Third Course * Churrasquito served w/ sweet plantain, yuca & potato Fourth Course * Coconut Flan Ratings: * Food: 9/10 - the food was sooo good and flavorful * Service: 3/10 - I don't want to put anyone down, so I will just leave the rating. I would def give them another try in hope that service will be better.

For those who love a tender, juicy steak and a leisurely meal, Las Tablas is the perfect fit! I have had my my eye on Las Tablas for a while and felt Chicago Restaurant Week would be the perfect time to try out a handful of items from their menu. My brother and I planned to visit the Lakeview location, but unfortunately the grill was down, so we were encouraged to visit the location in Portage Park. We had no plans beyond eating and took the drive. When we arrived the location was very busy -- a foreshadow that the food was going to be delicious but that service would be very, very slow. We were asked to seat ourselves and waited 20 minutes to be visited by our waiter. He apologized and we felt he was genuine so it didn't impact our experience. After we each ordered the empanadas, chicken soup, and skirt steak with chicken breasts our food came out steady, hot, and absolutely delicious. The portions were hearty and on a subsequent visit one portion would be enough for two. We were so stuffed that we got our dessert -- chocolate mousse and coconut flan -- to go. Our restaurant week meals were around $50 each, considering tax and tip, which was a great value for the quality and portions we received. We were also happy that all of the staff wore gloves and masks. We will definitely return, but on a day when we have lots of down time to have a meal just in case slower service is the norm.

Run don't be walk from this place . A absolute waist of money . Service was HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE IS A ACTUAL UNDERSTATEMENT. Very disappointing as this was my birthday dinner. Our Elizabeth was terrible . Every time she hit the tables she was missing something .Elizabeth started off missing an app which okay not a big deal . We then get our drinks (20 minutes after ordering)and our server yet again missed a drink ( extra drink took an additional 15 minutes to come ) . Elizabeth barely checked on us and was no where to be found when needed . I ordered a medium cooked steak and it came SUPPER RARE. I than asked to speak to a manger . The manger seemed so bothered to even speak with me . When i told her how things were constantly missing and how under cooked my steak was she simply looked at me and responded "well what do you want me to do" . I asked her if there was any way she can accommodate us for such awful service seeing as this was my birthday diner . She responded all I can do is cook your steak again . After speaking with management our server Elizabeth came back to our table rolling her eyes saying "what drinks did I miss ? What more do you all want over here " my whole table was extremely uncomfortable. I too am in the service industry and never have I seen a server come to a table with such an attitude trying to argue with guests it was truly appalling . Everyone in my table waiting for my plate to come out to eat their food which took 20 -25 minutes to come out. (upon my food arrival my whole tables food was cold) . When my food finally came out all my sides were cold and steak was still at the same temperature RAW. Finally I cut my loses and just let Elizabeth know I did not want me or my table to wait for my steak for a 3rd time . Very disappointing to say on my birthday I did not receive a plate of my own and had to pick off everyone else's. When receiving the bill they also attempted to charge me for an extra pina colada . All in all, an absolute horrendous experience. And a huge waist of time and money . Staff and management really need to work on their hospitality as the attitudes and lack of attention was huge . If I could leave ZERO STARS I WOULD

Did not disappoint! Went for restaurant week & YUM!!! Food was excellent. Everything came out HOT! It was super busy but the wait staff was able to keep up. They ran out of dessert but luckily had one Oreo cake left for us! Altho I was jonesing for the flan, it was lovely. They also forgot an appetizer but quickly corrected that. I saw other reviews saying their service wasn't to par but we really had no issues. Our waiter was attentive & chked in on us often. We never felt neglected. We also had several people bussing & clearing our table promptly. We were a table for two but most other tables were large parties of 6+. Maybe that's the difference? Idk, we had a great experience & the food was outstanding. Regarding our meal...I thought the beef empanadas were better than the fried pork belly bread patty thing, but I absolutely love empanadas. I'll always pick a cute meat pocket pie any day! The chicken soup could have been a meal on its own (no cup size here!); flavorful, hearty & comforting. We both had the skirt steak & chicken....omg, delicious! Both grilled & seasoned to perfection. I always fear ordering chicken b/c it's typically dry and over cooked. Idk how they did it, but the chicken was nice & tender. The side sauces help add even more flavor & juiciness (not sure if that's a word?). We also had a pitcher of sangria, happy that it wasn't overly sweet, I fear sweet drinks. It could have had more fruit in it but it's not why we were there, so it was perfect for what we wanted. I may try the margarita next time....but maybe not, the sangria was really nice. A++++ for restaurant week menu.

Horrible service during the three pm break between lunch and dinner. LESSON LEARNED But really!! We were one of two - two tops Busy wasn't the problem.... Service only!!!

I've always liked this place. Having said that, things now are double what they used to be and that's fine. But I ordered 12 empanadas and only received 1 little container of chunky sauce for 6. Are you kidding me?! I called because I thought it must be a mistake but the woman who answered the phone said that 2 was correct. 1 for an order of 6. I will try to request more next time ... she didn't say anything about asking for more. I'm sure it would cost more but she didn't say how much. I may just order from somewhere else. What we are living is no excuse for being cheap on a $113 dollar order.

Food was delicious. We had Pollo Al Ajillo, and it was juicy and full of flavor. Friend had Bandeja Paisa. The drinks were delicious; we had the caipiroska, coco loco, and mango mojito. The waiter was friendly and working hard.

My family has been here many times although there Customer Service is ALWAYS HORRIBLE. One time I was the server going to bar n retrieving our drinks. This last time was the KILLER. There was a hair, a long curly hair embedded in the Carnite Frita, combination platter. The server said she would remove from bill. When the bill came they REFUSED to take it off the bill. Horrible Customer Service at its finest. They "HEAD" server (I believe) never once apologized and I believe HE (bald head) was the one to refuse to remove off bill. How can you not remove this off the bill?? Do the cooks not wear a hair net? I will be making a Tiktok video on this restaurant with the many followers I have I hope it makes an impact on how they treat their customers. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...NOT WORTH COMING HERE AND OVER PRICED!!!!!

I should have listened to the reviews about this place. Service is terrible, it takes a very long time for your food regardless what you order, cold temperature indoors they didn't raise the heat after asking several times. Not pleasant to eat when you are wearing your jackets. It's a boring environment, not enough waiter/waitresses to serve and pay attention to customer's needs. First and last visit. Will never refer this place.

I walked in and Waited to be seated for 5 min. In then no one came to take our order for 15 minutes . Service was horrible. I had to ask twice for water and sauce. Horrible services There not helping and talking by the bar!

Las Tablas is a lovely Colombian restaurant on the corner of Irving Park Rd & Laporte. Their dining area is very spacious, with plenty of tables open for us to dine in. We were seated right away but unfortunately that was the only thing that was fast. They're service was very spotty, and felt they could have done way better. After they sat us down we didn't get any water for at least five minutes. Our server was very friendly, but was forgetful throughout the evening. We had to ask for our silverware after we received our food, she said she was going to bring us more water and never did, and even apologized that she took long to give us our limes event bough we never asked for any, which tells me she wasn't messing up on other tables as well. And there was a long wait in between getting the check and and her finally returning to get the payment. My wife ordered their Matrimonio, which came with my all time favorite skirt steak, ajillo chicken, yuca, potatoes and fried sweet plantains. The skirt steak was very tender and seasoned perfectly. I ordered their Bandeja Paisa, which comes with a little bit more food than the Matrimonio, except instead of skirt steak, you get a Colombian style cut char broiled rib eye. It was also very tender and tasty. The dish also came with fried pork belly, chorizo, rice, beans, sweet plantains, and avocado. A very filling dish indeed. The chorizo was also tasty, and different than the Mexican chorizo I'm used to. The pork belly was chewy and not as tasty as I had hoped. Despite the tasty food, it came at a very high price. There's actually another Colombian place that serves the same dishes for a whole lot less. And with better service. I wouldn't mind returning and giving this place another try, hoping they fix their customer service issues.

I have not been to this restaurant in years, but it was always wonderful. I spoke too soon. They forgot our appetizers, despite being reminded, forgot to bring us our check (again, after having being reminded twice), just to see that they charged us for side dishes we never received. They never asked us how we were enjoying our food during our meal. When we left after correcting the meal, I realized that they did not charge us the discount price for the drink of the day. Never going back again!

I took my friend here for her birthday and we had a great time! The food is delicious, the live band was awesome, and our waiter was great! This place gets very pack on the weekend so expect for longer wait time and food but it will be all worth it!! I will definitely come back! Great place for birthday because their dessert is yummy!

Unbelievably disappointing. As a Colombian I was so excited to support Las Tablas. My wife and I waited over an hour and never received any of our food. We paid for our drinks and left. I will never return!

I would have given a 5 star, but the service was awful. The food was good. The waiter brought us the wrong order, another waiter who brought the food over to my table spilled the steak juice and grease on my husband shirt and pants. The tables next to me all complained about the service. I ordered rice and beans, and they brought me burnt refried beans and white rice. The waiter wasn't all there.... I complained, and the waiter just blew me off. I didn't get a chance to make a complaint to the manager since I was rushing to leave. I have been coming to Las Tablas for over 25 years at their original location and will hate to stop coming. I will give them another chance.

0 STARS DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!! FOOD-not worth the garbage of a service they provide (overcooked steaks and cold food) STAFF-disrespectful and rude MANAGER-is even worse then the staff AMBIANCE-NONE SERVICE-was horrible, if you go there with a group. Plan on half of your table being served and the other half waiting for their plates. You want a drink? Plan on a 30 minute wait for that drink or a refill. If they make a mistake, it's not their fault, it's your fault. BILL-when you finally realize that the dining experience was horrible and you just want to run out of there, MAKE sure you check the bill, because you will be overcharged for something. Don't back down when the server tells you that the bill cannot be adjusted because the manager left for the day, that's a BS tactic and don't feel guilty not leaving a tip either. This place needs a reboot with new management and staff. I'm so disappointed at how disrespectful they were that I actually hope they go out of business.

First time here. The service was terrible on a Tuesday. We were a table of 5. I liked their lemonade but I had to wave over the waiter all night. A family of three that arrived later were served before us. We waited over an hour for our food. When the food arrived the food was dry and overcooked . We were begging other waiters for refills on water. Soon after we finished our waiter finally checked on us and asked if there was anything else we needed. We said just the check. He quickly took out the bill. My wife told him wow that you can do quickly. He apologized with a undisclosed mishaps in the kitchen. A expensive experiment. Never coming back

My friends and I prepared ourselves for a buffet/seafood feast at Seafood on the Table for Sunday lunch, but it was mysteriously closed with no information on the door or website. Fortunately, Las Tablas came to the rescue down the street! It's a somewhat dark restaurant with plenty of seating (especially group tables) and would be perfect for a dinner setting. They have a guy singing and playing an instrument on the side of the restaurant. Almost all of the menu titles are in Spanish, so you have to look at the descriptions if you don't know how to read Spanish. I wish I retained more of what I learned in my high school Spanish class years ago. APPETIZER - Empanada Combo Plate (6 empanadas) ($15.00): We each ordered two empanadas, one beef and one chicken. They're Colombian empanadas and pretty tasty, especially with the three dipping sauces provided. I prefer the beef one more. ENTREES - Picada Mar y Tierra ($65.00): This is a combination of the most popular Colombian food. It might not seem like a lot of food at initial glance, but don't be fooled. It was enough to feed three hungry girls, and we still had leftovers. The dish has skirt steak (their house specialty), pork loin, chicken breast, grilled shrimp, calamari, baby octopus al ajillo, homemade chorizo, pork ribs, arepa, crunchy green plantain, sweet plantain, yuca, and potato. The food was pretty good, and meat was tender. The service was decent but a few times seemed somewhat slow. However, it was a relatively positive experience overall.

Buen servicio comida deliciosa. No espera. El ambiente familiar. Música en vivo trova. Definitivamente si lo recomiendo.

Only complaint is no manager on site keeping an eye on the tables Our table and the one next to us sat for 25 minutes with no service Finally flagged a waiter down who didn't realize he had our tables Really need to have someone checking on all the tables. If you go make sure a waiter is assigned to your table or you will be waiting for a while! Even went up to the bar ourselves to order our own drinks. Food was authentic

I chose this restaurant for my husbands birthday because he is a big meat eater. My sister told me about it, although she hasn't been here before, she saw it on her google search. I made reservations for 5:30 and our table was ready and on time. It didn't get busy until around 630/7. Our waiter was a very sweet older guy. Our food was delicious- cooked perfectly. I had the combo octopus and steak. My husband had the chicken and steak. There was live music, which we loved. I told the waiter it was my husbands birthday and they brought him a slice of delicious chocolate cake and sang to him. We all had an amazing night and definitely would come again!!

I came here with a couple of buddies from work for a good time and a good time we had. Each of us ordered a slightly different dish with some beers and everything was pretty delicious. I had the "Entraña" (columbian steak) which was pretty great. The fried banana/root was actually very good and the salsas we good (except maybe not spicy enough... for me at least). The staff was friendly and attentive (but not very pushy, which I always like). Something to point out was the music - lots of good cumbia/merengue/bachata etc. Very good "this is my jam" type of music.

Food and overall presentation was great 5 stars. Entertainment was good, little loud for conversation at table. Service was weak, waitress was not attentive, no one provided water. No one took our drinks. Finally when we received service drinks took forever 1 cocktail they ran out of a soft drink mixer, they forgot the wine. Missing a part of food entree. No replenishment of sauces. They did not describe what type of empanada was what. They did not check on our table we constantly had to ask for service. When they refilled our soda drink they should provide a new glass not the old used glass that is unsanitary. There were plenty of servers not sure what happened. We could of had more food and drinks but our waitress did not check on us. Was not a great dining experience. I was also disappointed a few weeks ago I made reservations for my family for 13 guests they called 5 minutes before my reservation stating they had to cancel because the restaurant was closed. We already had our family at the restaurant. Total disappointment I don't think I'll be back.
