Where to Dine and Drink in Fort Lauderdale’s Flagler Village

"From the minds of Invasive Species is this Progresso Village craft beer haven (okay, it’s right across the train tracks from Flagler Village, as are a couple of others on this list). Whereas Invasive Species brews its magic, this spot highlights brewers across South Florida and dabbles in super-rare, out-of-state finds. Food trucks and pop-ups often park it out front, with its truck, Taco Bellus, being a weekend fave." - Jesse Scott

On the Grid : Laser Wolf

"To say Laser Wolf is an interesting bar would be an understatement. They serve tons of local craft beer while playing B-list horror flicks on repeat. There isn't anything quite like it around town, and that's a good thing. No jerks, yes beers." - Nick Rourke

The 8 Best Bars In Fort Lauderdale

"Laser Wolf has been the best beer bar in Fort Lauderdale for a while now, and it’s still a favorite for a relatively casual night of drinking and talking to people at a reasonable volume. The indoor space is small, but there’s an outdoor courtyard you can hang out in. There’s often a good food truck situation outside too, and they’re in the same building as Sidewalk Bottle Shop, in case you want to bounce around between the two." - ryan pfeffer

Finally tried Laser Wolf after years of driving by this place. Funky, small, hole in the wall with excellent beers and great food trucks. I went after having dinner somewhere nearby and regretted it when I saw the Philly cheese steak truck. I'll be back.

Google
As a fan of local craft beers and hazy ipas we were greatly surprised when we told about Lazer Wolf. My wife and myself were at a local brewery when one of the employees told us about this bar. Said it was in an old building with a great setting and a great selection of beers. We stopped by on a Tuesday night and it was somewhat quiet. Their selection of ipas New England style or West Coast style, The best in Fort Lauderdale. The building is amazing one of the last remaining original buildings in downtown fort Lauderdale probably. The bartender was awesome, I believe his name was Ryan and we spoke for a while about the history of the building in the area. This is a great place to stop for a cold beer if you are an IPA fan or a craft beer fan!

Google
Sooo amazing ! The vibe, the music, the bartender… this place has such a diver bar/homely feel. We need more places like this and less twin peaks/ale house/hooters/flannigans.

Google
Well versed beer spot, vibes were on point. Cross your fingers, if you're lucky you can get a Frankie Dog or 4! Really a must if you're in the area, also really fun to follow on Instagram

Yelp
Love going to this place! Always a great selection of local and not-so-local craft beers, and a variety of great food trucks. The last time I was there I actually got a pizza from the restaurant next door. Everyone complains about the "Long Bearded" bartender, but I personally think that his grumpy and off-putting persona adds to the character of the place. I choose to remain nice, polite and respectful with him every time I stop by. Plus, sometimes other bartenders are on duty and they are a delight to engage with. See you again soon!

Yelp
Still one of my go to spots! Not a brewery, but they have a huge selection of drafts and cans. Very cool vibe, with different events throughout the weekend. Staff is awesome, and just a cool place hang out. Food trucks rotate, so check their socials.

Yelp
What's not to love about a dive bar that knows that it does and does it well? That's Laser Wolf in a nutshell. Want craft beer? This is your place. Want a mixed drink, wine or specialty cocktail? You are in the WRONG place! We stopped in the other night on our way next door to The Patio. There was a taco truck outside where you could grab food to go with your beer. The bartender was friendly and welcoming recognizing us a new comers so he went out of his way to make sure we knew the lay of the land. We had a couple of beers, laughed at the various signs around the place and then continued on to our destination. A good start to a good night!

Yelp
Broad offering of craft beer, check, intimate vibe, check, walls lined with eclectic art and pop culture, check, friendly informative staff, check. This is another stop on our pub crawl, especially when friends are visiting, which was the case. Folks from Nashville really appreciated the art and chill vibe. I'd recommend hitting a few other walking distance bars the next time you're here. A good group of local watering holes to help out.

Yelp
Exceptionally cool neighborhood dive bar at the edge of Progresso neighborhood, with a fantastic food truck BMC Smashburgers, parked outside on weekends. 5 star ambience, 5 star food / drink, 4 star service 5 star ambience: the amazingly fun vibe for this place extends outside and inside. It's both a dark hole in the wall and a cool open to street vibe at the same time. The bar itself is located in one corner of a large 1930s building right by the train tracks. Outside there are usually food trucks and a mini street party atmosphere. 5 star food/drink. The bar itself serves a great selection of expertly done alcohol. A food truck outside called BMC Smashburger was off da' charts papi : ). The line was long but worth the wait...incredibly fresh and expertly broiled burgers. 4 star service. The only minor bump was the long wait on service. It wasn't very crowded but was a bit slow

Yelp
Cool chill fun vibe with an incredible beer selection. Super nice patio/courtyard. Great spot.

Yelp
Went last night for the first time in a long time.... the building is so cool usta be the Flagler office when they were building the railway. Great beer selection and the bartender is very knowledgeable... will definitely go again soon.... If yelp came by they would call them jerks but the place is wonderful....enjoy.

Yelp
I cannot say one bad thing! I almost don't want to say anything because this place is so great, I want to keep it to myself! However, the word must be out because the vibe.... Awesome! The beer is cold and tasty and they have wine too. The food trucks are phenomenal, BUT THE WHOLE VIBE!! So welcoming and friendly! I come to town about 5 times a year and will definitely stop in each and every time!!

There is no Fort Lauderdale without the Wolf! Been coming here for 9 years, as the neighborhood changes this place stays true! The building they are in Flagler village wouldn't be it without Laser Wolf! My forever safe heaven. F***ng love this place! #NiceDayForIt #YesBeerNoJerks

Yelp
I wouldn't say this place is a dive bar. It's clean and cozy! A small bar with lots of delicious beer options to choose from. The bartenders were friendly and there was a movie on the television; decor was pretty kitschy too. It's a quiet bar but a nice place to relax. I'm a fan of their beer options, I got a almond and coconut spread imperial stout which was delicious. I think a lot of locals frequent it based on the night we went. We talked to a few bar patrons and they were cool. There was a food truck setting up outside. We got a snack to eat after a few drinks. Across the street, there is a lounge/club called 27. I'd definitely go back!

Yelp
Went in to kill some time and chill after the gym. The guys were great. I asked for something weird. Passed on the sea salt tangerine and went for the Bianca raspberry vanilla sherbert wild wild Brett. Long name for a simple and refreshing beer. Hit the spot! Masks were worn and social distancing enforced. I'll be back!

Yelp
This has to be my favorite place ever. Cool craft beer categorized by the style of the brew is up on the easel. Additionally, they have so many rare bottled brews that really will impress any verified beerhead. I personally opted for the Brunch Weasel (A Indonesian cat eats coffee beans, digests them, and are later used to make the worlds most expensive coffee, which are used used in this beer) and the EvilTwin Apricot IPA which was equally delicious. Take a glance around at all the quirky posters and laserwolf gear because it's pretty dope. Outside, they have a terrace where they sometimes host movie night (check their Instagram) on certain nights. The afternoon I was there, the hipster tunes were being played as I chit chatted with people at the bar. I really love this place so much, it made me so happy. It's directly situated in the FATVillage Arts District so you can check out their brewery across the train tracks. NO JERKS YES BEER !!

Yelp
Dive beer bar = Laser Wolf. Good beer selection cans & draft. Laser Wolf has a lot of character and on the Friday night when I visited, the patrons were pretty colorful as well. It is a unique looking spot, near the train tracks on Flagler. And the bar and building is shaped like a wedge. We weren't looking for it and kind of stumbled into it, although many of my beer friends say this is one of the highlights of Ft. Lauderdale beer scene. This spot would have received at least 4 stars if it weren't for the owner of this establishment, a long bearded guy who seemed to have an acidic demeanor. He was working with a younger man who was very pleasant. But the old guy seemed like he really didn't need my business. I wouldn't have left a tip if it were not for the younger guy who was both pleasant and engaging. Still I am sure the patrons don't come here for the banter. Good beer here. Who needs banter, right?

Yelp
My favorite place in the whole wide world. Where to begin? Yes, they have craft beer, good stuff from breweries in Florida and farther than that. Also, lots of special release beers and things, and very good prices on bombers, often cheaper than at the liquor stores/craft beer store. My other favorite thing? The sensory overload. All the walls are decorated with artwork, graffiti, posters, dolls, lights, stickers, etc. There is a TV screen playing wacky B movies and cult movies, sometimes crazy Asian horror, just crazy stuff not suitable for the right mind. And then, playing really loud on the speakers, some super dark metal or underground hip hop. I mean, you either get it or you don't, there are no in-betweens. Another cool feature: NES sitting at the end of the bar hooked to a tube TV. Total boner. There is also an outside patio where things are quieter, and where people gather. There are also chairs outside, food trucks, and a really loud train that would breeze right under your nose when you least expected. This place is a magic box. Don't bother coming here though...

Yelp
Everytime i come here i feel at home. its a bar in the mass district of ft. laud.. that is one of the older businesses in the area. always a great vibe with a variety of different types of people that are all really cool, friendly, and laid back. good for an after work drink.. or an evening hanging out with friends and catching up. they also have a good list of various craft beers.

Yelp
Visited Laser Wolf early on Friday night. Ordered two beers at the bar and then hopped to another nearby bar. Quality Laser Wolfe is a dive bar and a beer bar. And while they do have a few wine, cider, and mead choices, beer is definitely the direction they send you. I decided to go in two directions with my choices, selecting Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout and 7venth Sun Do You Even Sudachi Bro. The sour beer was just alright, but I was not a fan at all of the milk stout. With only ten beers on tap this night, the two misses was a bit concerning to me. Quantity While I had no issue with the beers I ordered, I heard more than a few groans regarding the pours being passed out. I blame it on the lack of staff, which caused the one bartender to have to rush out each pint. It just is not a great look for a bar that is all about beer. Value The beers on draft ranged from $6 to $9, which seemed like fair prices. They also have a large assortment of bottled beers with some rarer selections that hit $20. Ambiance Laser Wolfe is a dive bar found in Fort Lauderdale. Along the railroad track in an area called Flagler Village, it makes up part of a unique beer scene. We spent the majority of our visit inside the bar. The inside is absolutely jam packed with random signs and art everywhere you look. The winding bar is the main focus of the small area and takes up about half the space. The wall on the left contains the list of beer, which in the dimly lit space was very difficult to read. Above the bar they were playing a weird vampire movie and hard rock played loudly in the background. The more popular area on this evening seemed to be the outdoor patio. Even though it was very warm, it was much calmer and quieter in the courtyard. Outside was also a pop-up ramen tent, which had its own line. It was really the normal dive bar shenanigans. Crowd When we arrived the bar was extremely busy. All the seats around the bar were taken and a crowd filled in around them. Outside, at least twenty people were sitting around in the patio area and there was a long line for food. It was absolutely a dive bar crowd filled with lots of regulars and people who love their beer. Service They definitely did not have enough staff working on a busy Friday night. During our visit they only had one guy behind the bar, and with a constant flow of people it wasn't enough. I saw at least two people turn around and walk out without a drink because of the wait. Parking We walked over to the bar from a nearby parking lot, but it appeared they had street parking along the train tracks. Just keep an eye out for intoxicated folks wandering into the street. Extra On an evening we visited several bars, Laser Wolf left the worst impression. I just was not a big fan of the beers I tried and that is a sin at a beer bar. I also found the service to be total chaos and nothing about the space made me want to hang out longer. Fine for a quick stop when bouncing around the area, but not worth an extended stay.

Yelp
Heard about this place a couple of times but actually went there last night for the first time. Looks awesome, small bar making for a casual friendly experience. The main thing I loved was the service! I can't tell you how many places have bartenders that will treat you like a peasant because you may not know as much about beer then someone else. They share all the knowledge with you and they have a vast selection of beer and sours!!!

Yelp
Laser Wolf is always a good time for a random night out. You literally feel like you're having a drink at home with their down to earth hipster decor. They always have a great selection of beers and you can always find someone fun to talk to! They even allow dogs to kick back a few brewskis with. Plenty of parking around the area too. I really like the outdoor seating on those nice winter days. So glad we want during the holidays because I got to snap a few fun pics with their super cute tree! A definite spot for a first or 100th date. Cheers!

Yelp
When it comes to local bars, this place is by far the best. My husband and I love the staff, vibe, and array of local beers. Great place to hang out with our friends--love the patio and food trucks that often come! Like to bring our dog as well as they are super pet friendly and down to earth. If you like sours, they always have a great one on tap!

Yelp
Okay, this place is pretty cool. Great beer selection and interesting ambiance but I don't see what all the hubbub is about. Came here on a Friday night and I guess I was expecting a lot more. Having discovered this place on Yelp and seeing such a great rating I thought I was in for something special. Upon arriving in the area I discovered the first challenge here is finding parking. Got lucky and found a spot down the street next to the train tracks. Took the short stroll to Laser Wolf through what could be perceived as a questionable area just to arrive at a interesting old building in need of restoration. Out front were a half dozen guys that might be described as hipster but i'm not quite sure if they would like to be described that way. So once inside this place, be it small, is really interesting. Straight ahead ten feet in front of me is the bar. Immediately to my left is a wall with a beer selection list and to my right is the small inside seating area. All the walls are covered in interesting and amusing reading materials making the short wait to order not so boring. Once at the bar I was greeted promptly and politely. The bar tender was very knowledgeable about his trade and all questions about different beers were answered thoroughly. With suggestions made our orders were placed and beers were in hand. All seats were taken inside so we stepped outside to the courtyard area. Again another interesting area that is in need of renovation. There we found some old patio furniture to sit at and enjoy our beers. Now all in all, as I have stated earlier, this place is pretty cool. Interesting old building, great beer and a good crowd made for a pleasant time. Also worth noting were the two food trucks parked out front and the fact that Laser Wolf is dog friendly. But a lack of anything else to do but drink beer combined with difficult parking, limited seating, one bathroom, nothing else nearby and a really old building that is in desperate need of renovation will probably prevent me from returning. If I do it will be a visit of opportunity, because I happened to be passing by. Didn't have a bad time here it's just that there are too many other places nearby, with great beer selections, that have much more to offer. I am glad that I checked this place out and am sure that this is what some people are looking for. Just not my type of place. Given a different location this place would be the shit . Just not here. So till my next review, Keep drinking good beer. CHEERS.

Yelp
If you're a "pretentious douche bag" go away... Or at least that was the first impression that I got. "NO JERKS, YES BEERS" That's their motto and if you're anything like me (NOT a pretentious douche bag that just wants to go with friends to share some good laughs and conversation while drinking better than average beers) then this place fits the bill.... For awhile I had been coming here; mostly after riding with various organized bicycle rides through Fort Lauderdale (Monday night Slowhibition ride, Wednesday night Bicihangeo ride, Friday night Critical Mass rides).... AND HERE'S WHY: ** Laid Back... As someone that frequents Key West very often, the laid back feeling here makes this place feel like many of my preferred drinking spots in Key West... right up my alley. ** Cool Staff... Everyone seems to be on top of their job (getting drinks into my hands fairly quick when they are busy mostly) but at the same time seem to be friendly guys while we've been their during quieter days shooting the shit about beers and life. ** Excellent Beer List... there seems to be tons of places dedicated to serving good beer but how many of them really get "better" or "rarer" beers all that often. Laser Wolf certainly does a better job than most. ** Dogs... not a typical criteria for whether I like or dislike a place but props to Laser Wolf for loving dogs enough to have an open-door policy allowing dogs all of sizes into the bar. Haven't had my dog into the bar yet (since he's kind of an asshole) but pretty cool that I could if I wanted... ** Movies.... I don't know if it's a regular thing but I've caught a couple of B-flicks being shown here... and not just average B-flicks like Sharknado and Killer Klowns from Outer Space... they took it to a whole new level when I saw Zombi Asu (a cheesy Japanese flick that translates to "Zombie Ass: The Toilet of the Dead")... Google it... * * * For the most part I've always enjoyed my visits and always felt welcomed but on a couple visits I questioned how welcomed I really was...... On one occasion I was talking to one of the guys behind the bar. Somehow or another bicycling came up and he was bitching about cyclists and specifically how he dislikes how the guys in those group rides can be assholes... kinda sucks as I am one of those guys on the group rides.... BUT I'M NO JERK (or asshole). I told him I'm an avid rider and come often after rides and have brought many of my cycling buddies too... he changes his tune a bit and even said he rides often too... I know what he means since some of the riders can be jackasses on the road but does that really mean all riders are unwelcome here... I hate to admit it but I certainly felt unwelcome at that moment (and sure doesn't fall Into the NO JERKS motto). It wasn't so much the not caring for cyclist... it was more along the lines of here is this place with the COOLEST motto you could possibly have and IF YOU FOLLOW WHAT YOU PREACH then the place could be the COOLEST BAR. I've introduced many friends to Laser Wolf; well beyond the bicycling crowd... some friends that just enjoy a cool bar and others that were craft beer geeks... for the most part all loved it but a couple of them complained they didn't feel welcome... they questioned the COOL MOTTO as just a bunch of words with little substance.... As if there is a private club and only the members of this exclusive club are entitled to be treated to a higher standard... everyone else, well, you're all just jerks. As a former business owner, I recognize that the ultimate goal of any business is to make money; NOT to be the coolest kid in class... treating one guest with total respect and making other work to be accepted is not going to win over any potential customers and any business owner knows... potential customers translate to potential profit. Isn't that what you're really in business for in the first place ? "NO JERKS, YES BEERS" I get it, they want guys that fit into a certain profile and that's fine but the motto implies everyone is welcome as long as you aren't a jerk but I think their definition of a jerk may be different than mine. As not to end on a negative note... here's a link to that Zombi Asu movies that I credit Laser Wolf with introducing me to... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uE4iKPq2X

Yelp
On my last review of Laser Wolf, I wasn't very pleased with the way they treated their patrons but I didn't down rate them from 4 Stars, figuring it was just a bad night and the bartender was having and out of sorts type of day. But, it seems the staff here is having more than their share of out of sort days. The place is nice, really artistically cool, but the bartenders are not. They really seem to be a bunch a wannabe cool types, they try so hard to be, rather arrogant with nothing to be arrogant about, who seem so full of themselves that to me they come off as being a bunch of less than boring rudies. More than anything, the place seems to have a groupie type of following that unless you're one of them or of the type that would visually fit, you can expect to be cold shouldered and treated as one who is not exactly welcomed. As for the beer, yes. They have a lot of good selections, but so do a lot of other places and, at least for me, those other places are better choices.

Yelp
I've been coming to Laser Wolf since they opened back in 2010. It's a great little brewpub and biergarten nestled just outside of the downtown area of Fort Lauderdale. Their craft beer selection is solid, a lot of great varieties on both bottle and tap. Located in this old corner building, the bar has this cool vibe with a plethora of different knickknacks. paintings, and an unicycle hung on the walls. They normally have food trucks available during the weekends, occasionally on certain weekdays, depending on what's going on. Five years on, the owners have established a place that's very special. I live just south of West Palm Beach now, and I will still come by the joint if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Ryan my favorite bartender gave me a cold beer. That's all I needed. I love sassy bartenderS and Ryan has a lot. I would come here everyday if my liver let me and my bank account. The lighting makes every girls skin look flawless. Outside seating is romantic sort of. For a beer garden though another bathroom is necessary since I can't hold it very well, and sometimes when ppl bang on the door it makes me pee shy. Other than that, LOVE LOVE LOVE

Yelp
Yet another stop on my random pub crawl. Not a lot of seating but, a fabulous rotating beer selection. I was told they get some unusual beer in there as well as local stuff. There is seating outside and Frankie's Hotdogs to pair with your beer. Interesting decor, but it works. Something cool to read at all angles! Service was quick and they kept the empties cleared quick. There is a pamphlet called Wolf available there. If you see it, grab one. Pretty funny. :P

Yelp
After seeing some of the negative reviews on here, I felt compelled to write a review. I've only been to Laser Wolf a handful of times, but every time I have gone I've had a good experience without any issues. I've seen reviewers complain about the service but whenever I've been and asked for suggestions or help with the beer choices I've always been pointed in the right direction. Outside service seems attentive too and they make a good effort to walk around and pickup any empty glasses at your table. I've been to other bars that just let the glasses pile up which gets kind of annoying. Laser Wolf definitely has a "hipster vibe" but they don't neglect people based on their look as one reviewer noted. I don't consider myself hipster looking at all and I've always been given great service. With that being said, their beer selection is great and it rotates so it's nice to see different stuff. They make good effort to give you proper glasses for each beer style too which is great! (I'm a huge fan of proper glassware) Bottle selection is as great as their ever changing draft selections as well. The ambiance of the bar is nice too, not overly hip like some of the places in Wynwood. It's just a nice chill atmosphere. The outside garden area is great to sit and talk with friends, and you can actually carry on a nice conversation with friends without being drowned out by loud music or loud patrons. All in all, I really like Laser Wolf and they have a very good selection of beers with bartenders that actually know what they are talking about. I had recently gone and started with a Rodenbach sour ale. After I finished I had asked one of the bartenders what else he recommends. He recommended a hoppy farmhouse saison because he said it has a lot of the sour notes and Belgian character that I like and he was right!!! That's knowing your product and listening to your clientele A+ service there!! Give Laser Wolf a try, don't pay attention to the negative reviews that seem to be suffering from an issue that isn't a cause of the bar. For instance, someone complained that they didn't allow a 2 month old baby into the bar.......it's a bar.....where people smoke cigarettes and drink beer....not a family restaurant. If you like a chill atmosphere with a great beer selection and really nice outdoor seating. Head on over to Laser Wolf. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
With the advent of Art Basel, Laser Wolf became the stomping grounds of Free Art give-away. Folks who gathered here for a beer or food truck were invited to scavenge for Free-Art that had been planted around the neighborhood. From small hand stenciled post cards to large canvases, folks were allowed to take one piece and barter amongst other scavengers, then bring their finds back to the bar to meet the artists who had planted all the art. I've never been to quite such a unique event. The beer selection at Laser Wolf is astounding. And I liked the merchandise too. So much so I purchased a seamless ladies tank for Nicole, the material is very soft. After the scavenger hunt were we did find Free Art! We came back to meet and speak with a few of the artists and also decided on two different IPA beers. Next time I will ask how this establishment got their name. It's an outsider artist haven decorated with pieces like "Jerk Free Work Place", zombie movies playing on the flat screen television, and anime---very eclectic and unique little corner bar. I'd definitely come again.

Yelp
I wanted to really like this place. A small dive bar with an extensive beer selection. It just didn't do it for me. We walked in last night around 9pm as we were attending an event right across the street and we wanted to check out a local spot. The bartenders were very nice and good at helping us picking out beers. I honestly don't remember what I got but it was good and the prices were reasonable. What I didn't like was the overall vibe inside that place. Everyone was looking at us like we didn't belong there. We just weren't very comfortable so we sat outside. Overall the experience was fine. We came, got beers, and left. Nothing special to write home about.

this place nails it, i mean nails IT. YES Beer, and NO jerks, tons and tons of beer, great tap takeovers, you have to follow them on Instagram because the shit they post is AWESOME. Be open and chill and go have some fun and drink some great beer at Laser Wolf. We came for a few of the tap takeovers and it can get packed inside, but they have food outside and a beer garden u can enjoy as well. Everything about it is sketchy and thats the fun. Can be difficult to locate if you dont know the area, but just over the tracks in a corner you will find beer heaven for Fort Lauderdale, esp if snootiness isnt your scene, really cool dive bar, cheers

Yelp
Pros: - Teeny tiny hidden spot with some fantastic selections. - Hidden courtyard - Knowledgeable staff - Great music Cons: - ONE SINGLE BATHROOM for a bar of beer drinkers - Certain staff members can be a bit patronizing to newbies

Yelp
Very cool locales place. Local owners who grew up in the area. They actually work there! Plenty of draft, can and other beers. They also have swag if you want to purchase

Yelp
Cool spot, look their craft selection very artsy and has some chairs outside. There are usually food trucks around there on the weekends.

Yelp
Always a huge variety of adult beverages. Every time we have stopped in at Laser Wolf I've had something unique and delicious with my most favorite being B. Nektar Zombie Killer mead. You never know what you'll find here. It's a great place to stop in for a drink when attending the MASS/Fat Village Art Walk. My favorite aspect of Laser Wolf is their support of local artists. The bar is full of great art!

Yelp
This place is a jewel. It is on a little corner near the railroad, by itself, but once you step inside you will realize you don't need anything else. The interior is decorated in unique artwork, which is kind of hipster, but in the best way. The selection is stellar and the guys who run the place are cool as hell. I love that their motto is "No jerks, just beer". It's true. If you don't want to sit inside for whatever reason, there is lots of space in the courtyard. Little tables and such, among the pretty shrubs and lights. On the weekends, it can get a little difficult to find space, but we have brought blankets or chairs to sit in the grass. There is nearly always a good food truck outside, which I love. Sometimes they even host events that include music or movies outside. If you have never been here to take a peek, there's no time like the present!

Yelp
Such a weird but very funky little place. The staff was fun and friendly! The decor surely kept the conversations interesting. I especially LOVED that it was a dog friendly place! Attended the Cigar City Jai Alai takeover event and had a great time with friends. Would definitely return!

Yelp
I was helping a friend study for the Quantitative section of the GRE in exchange for beer, when an old skool question about the laws of integers popped up. "I can't remember does a negative multiplied by a negative equal a positive?" I tried to explain it by relating to our surroundings. "Looking into a laser can boil the aqueous membrane that protects your eyeballs..NEGATIVE. We saw "The Grey" together, wolves are just smelly dogs you can't pet..NEGATIVE. Laserwolves protect humans by running in packs while using their light vision to tear zombies to ribbons..POSITIVE! (-laser) x (-wolf) = +laserwolf Laser Wolf is really a bar that has a little something for everyone, except liquor. There's wine for the ladies, sake for Japanophiles, cider for kids, and crafty brews for everyone. A special note on cider, it's a gateway beverage. Everyone loves it, you just have to find out if they prefer the dry or sweet variety. It has the same alcohol percentage as your standard Big 3 Miller/Coors/Bud but more flavor. Start people that "Don't do beer" on cider until they grow a palate. Earlier when my friend pulled up and asked, "Which of these rape zones should I park in? Pittsburgh [pointing towards railroad tracks], Buffalo [junk yard] or Cleveland [dilapidated warehouse]?" True the area isn't swanky, but I'd prefer to keep paying $5 for double digit ABV beer. It's a purposely designed dive displaying artworks with titles like "Saint Steve Jobs" and 'Manicorn Glamour Shot'. While you're at it you might as well grab some chalk and do what your parents always forbade and doodle on the walls. I just hope you're not easily offended because I don't know who draws more offensive graffiti, the patrons or the staff. If you make conversation and have boobs or consistently tip your bartender, he'll play whatever tickles your fancy. Last time I was feenin' for some 80's punk so the The Misfits, Body Count and Black Flag went into rotation. I've only met three of the bartenders, of which Dave H. // DJ Commissioner is my go-to. He'll know your favorite beer by how you describe your family dog, knows where to get the best roti (he's a white Trini after all) and how to put a gaping hole in a brand new Lexus. The only gripe I have with this bar is my friends always confuse the name and get lost or we have conversations like -- Hazer Wolf? No, he's the douchey upperclasswolf that terrorizes pledges during 'rush week'. Blazer Wolf? No, he's only the most fashionable canis about town. Lazar Wolf? No, he's the kosher butcher from 'Fiddler on the Roof'. Whatever you call it, call it home. It's the best place to drink a high-brow beer in a pretension-free environment.

Yelp
6/13/2015- Came with friends to the 2-Star Beach Party Event. Great turnout. Not too crowded but crowded enough. The bartenders are awesome and their specialty craft beer was mmmm good. We basically had every one they had on their board that day. Thank God it was 12 oz.

Yelp
Oh, Laser Wolf (LW). i was afraid to enter the doors the first time (actually put it off a few weeks), because i have been a local post-work beer guzzler at FatCats a few years now. my fear: falling in love with (FINALLY) a "beer only" bar in Fort Lauderdale. aaaaannndddd i did fall in love with LW (Sake & Wine served too). PERKS (of which there are no opposite): + owners are laid back & rad + beers (bottle/tap) change frequently & are delicious + good music + provides a link to the local music & art scene + located in a bombass historic building + you can be sure to always run into a friend (just beware if you are dating a new lady/guy and wish to bring them there chances are high that old and new worlds will collide) + clientele are all friendly, supportive and for the most part don't muck up the communal bathroom + the mug club and it's leather-bound book ('book of the dead') + dart board + bike friendly i've experienced nothing but good energy at LW. to all beer lovers i am sure you will experience the same so be sure to check it out! p.s. i wouldn't necessarily categorize this place as a "dive". it's a solid beer bar, that's what it is. p.s.s. Don c/o Fattiez... you still own a piece of my heart.

Yelp
This place is fun if you like a no frills attitude and talking to strangers. The bar itself is small, like a walk-in closet that's full of windows, but it's full of personalities. The staff are friendly but the rule is usually that they're not gonna hold your hand and walk you through the world of craft beer if you're new. Have an idea of the styles you like and check out the handwritten menu on the wall-- there's quite a bit to choose from. The regulars are a mixed bunch of folks who are laid back and welcoming, but they will absolutely push you out of your comfort zone if you're the least bit uptight. If you're not into being seen and you can hang with folks who have a little bit of hipster tendencies, this may be the place to check out.

Yelp
Far and away the best bar in Ft. Lauderdale. A true oasis in the d-bag desert of south Florida. Cool decor and a beautiful courtyard-style patio. Beer selection is top notch. Try a can of Florida Cracker, a Belgian white ale from Cigar Hill brewery in Tampa. It's got hints coriander and citrus. You'll love it. If that's not enough, their new bartender Jacques is one of the most exceptional humans you will ever come across. To hang out with him while enjoying fine libations is a true privilege. If you want a taste of the real Ft. Laudy, skip the downtown circus and get your ass here ASAFP.

Yelp
The one thing I love about Laser Wolf is the one thing I had been desperately searching for around Fort Lauderdale ever since I moved away from the area for college --a hip, young adult bar with a relaxed vibe. It doesn't sound like much to ask for, but as a few other Yelpers have pointed out, in the South Florida area the atmosphere of most bars really seems to lean heavily towards an older, more sophisticated crowd (which of course means $20 tiny drinks). Well the good thing is you won't find $20 tiny drinks at Laser Wolf. Yes, most of the beers will run you around $5, but honestly that is the standard price when it comes to craft beer. The extra dollar or so you pay basically means that you get the choice to try delicious brews such as the vanilla porter that I had which was indeed delicious. If you are not a beer drinker, there is also cider, sake, and wine to sip on. But besides the beverages, I greatly enjoy the fact that there is free parking (and plenty of it, just make sure that you pull in to the lot on the left-hand side right after you turn in on the corner). Also, the corner lot location across from the train tracks really lends to the urban vibe of this bar. And if that feel isn't quite to your taste, there is even a lush green courtyard out in the center of the business complex that the bar is located in. On top of everything else I enjoyed about Laser Wolf on my first visit, our bartender was also highly attentive and accommodating. I never once felt like I was at some uptight hipster bar where I was unwanted. PS: If you use the restroom, watch out for sharks.

Yelp
A small bar with a big selection of craft beers... This has become a go to for us on the weekends, only 5mns from where we live...why not?! There is a brewery not too far from us (which will remain nameless... but i prefer a more low-key spot). The staff here is pretty cool and very knowledgeable of the different beers. The crowd is eclectic and the vibe is pretty chill. Many regulars actually have their own personal glasses here.. thought that was kind of neat. There is usually a food truck to satisfy your late night munchies. And a few times there has been tiny pop up shops that set up shop next door to the bar. For me this is a little hidden gem... love the beer selection and the prices are pretty reasonable. Would recommend checking it out.

Yelp
Last night I sampled beer from a place that is really much more than a bar. The wide array of specialty beers is absolutely spectacular! The energy is artsy, the culture is hipster and quite unique from any other bar you've ever been to--guaranteed! The bartenders are friendly, the setting is relaxed, the music is mellow, and there are games to play alone or with others. This bar is pet friendly and the regulars get their glasses engraved! How cool is that?! Oh and if it's fresh air you want, step out--there is outdoor seating and a romantic courtyard garden. Please see my photos--I know it doesn't do them justice, but you will not be disappointed in trying out this spot just a few miles north of downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Yelp
Looking for a beer fix outside the typical Fort Lauderdale breweries? Laser Wolf is a great option, serving up both bottles and rotating taps. Street parking alongside the train tracks makes it an easy choice for a night out. Sit inside the unpretentious interior and work your way though their beer list, or snag a table outside among the smoking crew if you'd like to stare at the stars. While I can't claim this is the most comfortable spot to sit for a few hours, nor is their staff always the most friendly...they put together a solid list of offerings. Although this is definitely not the kind of place to ask the bartenders for recommendations, if you want to come, hang out, and a grab a higher echelon of brew, Laser Wolf is the place for you.

Yelp
Great choices of beer. Awesome bar tender. Patio seating for those who wants to enjoy their drinks with smoke. Will definitely visit again if I am around the area.

Yelp
This is my "go-to" dive bar. I've been coming here for about 3 years with my best friend and it's our ultimate hangout spot in Fort Lauderdale. They have great food trucks/stands that are there most of the time. Cheap prices. Cool vibes. I'll miss this place when I move out of FL!

Yelp
Ft Laudi, we like to party! We don't cause trouble and we don't bother nobody. Have you ever been? This is like my favorite little dive bar. It has expanded in crowd and interaction over the past few years. They now have foods trucks outside which is perf. Laser wolf is a small bar which a huge selection of crafted beers, saki and wine. Liquor enthusiast please seek elsewhere, but even YOU would grab a brew or two here. They have outside sitting in the front and around the side. I learned recently that in the grass open area furthur down on the side, my friend set up a booth and DJ'ed there with a great crowd. Kudos bro! I love it here. Great beertenders, awesome people, and super chill ambiance. Oh, sometimes you may catch the train passing by.
