Latin Quarter is truly a hidden gem in Chesterfield! I tried the El Chavo and an Agua Fresca, and both were absolutely delicious—fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. The service was also pretty good, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it one of those special spots you’re glad to discover. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for something unique and flavorful in the area!

Google
First experience here, food was mediocre & food temp was not hot enough for my liking. I ate outside, will go back & try again inside. Had the smothered yucca to start as I have a friend who raves about it. The jalapeño ranch sauce was pretty good.

Google
I was highly impressed with the food and service at this restaurant! I went in on a Friday night with a group of 8. We had cocktails, (highly recommend there mojito), the salsa flight, sweet plantains, Mexican street corn, all amazing! The El Tumbao sandwich was the sandwich I chose and it was out of this world....The young man who served us did an amazing job. So courteous and friendly! If you haven't checked this spot out yet put it on your to do list because it is wonderful!

Some of the best latin food I can remember (including Florida - St Augustine, Deland, Tampa, Miami) and Costa Rica. Sandwiches made with smashed Plaintains was a new one for me.

FABULOUS!!! I love something that is different than everything else! This place is a gem. One of the owners ( one of the sisters ) was our waitress. She was very kind and attentive. The menu was all unique to us. We had the smashed plantain sandwiches , one with steak and one with pork. They were both great, but we especially loved the steak one which has sweet plantain on the inside, the sweet and savory mix was delicious. The street corn was fresh that we added as a side. As a courtesy , they provided us with an order of fried / smashed plantains as well with dipping sauce. We loved them . My favorite sauce they had was the creamy cilantro like that came with the fried yuka. Everything was HOT, FRESH and exactly how I want my food. We wish it was closer! No time for photos, we were too busy enjoying .

Google
The restaurant has great vibes. The art and decorations on the wall and their black ceilings show great artistic taste. We went there when they happened to have no customers in the restaurant. But you still can tell how lovely the place it is to hang out with people, have food or get drinks. It’s chill, welcoming, and relaxing. The staff talked to us with passion and care, which we value a lot. We got the plantain sandwiches. Although it’s not something I personally like, the sandwiches are great and flavorful and I’d recommend it to anyone that likes plantain. I’d go back to try out their tacos and other food.

Google
Amazing food, and super friendly service! They have the best Yucca fries that I've had. The plantain sandwich was out of this world. Don't skip dessert either, the caramel lava cake was the perfect exclamation point to our meal!

Google
Delicious food, great atmosphere, and amazing staff! If you're looking for something fun, new, and unique, this is the place to go! The La Resaca Patacon is delicious. I get it every time I go. There are kids options, which is great for my three years old. She loves their chicken tacos. Staff is always quick with food, whether we dine in or take out. They have fun cocktails 🍸 too.

Yelp
Easily YES. The space itself is perfect for date night, family dinner after church, girls/guys night, you name it! I love that there's always tropical, salsa, or some Caribbean museum going in the background The patacones are amazing. I highly recommend: La vegana ~ vegan patacón (plantain-style sándwich) El Tumbao ~ shredded beef patacón I love that they use lots of flavor from really fresh ingredients - cotija, pickled onions, and perfectly cooked plantains. The only thing I'd change is I'd add in some avocado - to literally everything - even though I know that'll increase the cost. The price point is a little high, but these patacones are BIG and FILLING!!! The service is always great here. The staff is super friendly, and I love their patience when my son (who I'm teaching Spanish) wants to order in Spanish.

Yelp
I decided to try this place for lunch. First thing is there is plenty of parking spaces. They have outside seating, but we opted to sit inside. There is music playing in the background, but not too loud. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Their menu is updated from the one in their website. It's organized to choose some of the meals as either a sandwich, burrito, bowl or quesadilla. They also have appetizers, but everything is from $10-$15. If you want to make it a meal, it's $5 more for chips, salsa and a drink. Lucky for us, they have a lunch deal for $14.99 which includes any meal, chips, salsa and drink, so we decided on that. I was told that is not on the menu and only offered Monday-Friday from 11am-2pm. I chose the "El Tumbao" bowl with rice and black beans. There was a brown rice and pinto beans option. The ropa vieja (flank steak) was flavorful although I can do without the pickled onions. I felt it took away from the rest of the dish, but still ate it all. My friend ordered the burrito, but did a custom order. They were flexible if you want to do it that way. She said it was delicious and huge! Much more filling. The chips were great and we got to pick from their salsa menu. I chose avocado lime sauce and my friend got the jalapeño ranch sauce. Both were equally delicious. A good option from the typical salsa served elsewhere. For dessert, I had to try the churros. It came with 2 and topped with sugar and cinnamon, but you can ask for a side of chocolate. The place was a great lunch spot. I would love to come back to try their tostones sandwich.

Yelp
The food is superb! The service is great! We sat inside last time and outside this time! Love this place!

Yelp
Just driving by, we decided to pop in to this hidden little gem. This is a very casual atmosphere with tasty food. We ordered margaritas, chips and salsa (the house salsa is very tomato pasty, go for the fuego. Not too hot, and much better flavor. Also the avocado cilantro is absolutely amazing ). Then we had a side of yucca fries. Ok Chesterfield, I get Yucca fries everywhere I go, but these crisp light as air fries were definitely the best in all of Richmond, could they be the best I have ever had? I need a few more orders. These are something I could have every single week!!! Next we tried a sandwich and a burrito. The bread of the sandwich is plantains! While it's a limited menu, you can have the items 4 different ways and each is so tasty. We look forward to adding this family establishment of deliciousness to our Sunday afternoons.

Yelp
Great flavor combinations. The pork was well cooked and juicy however, the plantain tasted burnt and was very greasy. It

Yelp
Food comes in large portions & too with a tonnnn of flavor! every dish i've tried so far is packed with a ton of ingredients & more than enough to save for later. The staff always greets you as soon as you enter, and food is ready on time. you can order online & receive a text when your meal is ready. they also offer a happy hour with specials. Highly recommend the nachos! So delicious & every thing always cooked fresh!

Yelp
While I've frequented the truck, it was my first time at the brick & mortar. It's quite spacious with a really nice patio area. EVERYTHING is so flavorful!! The sandwiches are super filling too, since it's smashed between plantains. I loved the sandwich names, a great nod to the culture. It's a family run business, and the owners and staff are always so welcoming. If you're in Chesterfield or see their truck, run don't walk!

Yelp
Really flavorful food that hits the spot! I had been wanting to try this place for a while, and I wish I'd gone sooner. I had la máquina (fried green plantain with fried eggs, fried cheese, fried salami, red onions, mayoketchup ($12) at the food truck, and I had been craving mangu with the full hookup (fried cheese, fried salami (like what we'd called boloney), and fried onions, so that hit the spot! If you're a fan of a good boloney sandwich, then this one is your shot, for sure! You'll love it! If you've never had fried green plantain, think all that's wonderful about fries, but more flavor, better crunch, and good sturdiness for a sandwich. It's a win-win, my friend. I promise! The patacon was really good, impossibly tender and crispy. Usually, they can be a bit hard, even at the best places, but theirs was done perfectly here. They put the perfect amount of salt to the outside to give it that touch that most other places miss. It's really the little things sometimes. They really thought about everything, and it shows. The pickled onions are the icing on the cake. Perfection! Next time, im looking forward to an old school morir soñando, which I have definitely been craving, along with el mayimbe or el tumbao. The owners are nice, prices are reasonable, it was very clean, they are bilingual, and the menu is fun and creative, which is what you want. You can't lose. Definitely hurry by to check them out, and bring your friends! They'll thank you for introducing them to some new yummies. Next time, I'm looking forward to an old school morir soñando, which I have definitely been craving, along with el mayimbe or el tumbao.

Yelp
WOWWWWW!!! PARTY IN MY MOUTH! I can't believe I've never heard of this place, but I discovered them through ordering from ChefSuite for the first time. I got the El Tumbao smashed Plantain sandwich and it's literally one of the best things I've ever tasted. I'm already planning my next order. I don't think I can truly comment on the service because I had my food delivered, but it came fast and the food was still warm. I can't wait to try it when it's off the grill FRESH!

Yelp
I saw their food truck at Maymont and decided to try them out. Ordered the nachos with pork and it came with queso, cheese, onions. A good amount of toppings, but not a ton of chips. Flavor was good, but it did get cold quickly since it was outside in cold. I would definitely like to try them again inside and savor the flavor. Food: 6.9 Staff/service: na Overall: 6.9/10

Yelp
I'm so glad I found this place. It definitely has a Dominican vibe which I love. The food was absolutely amazing, I had "El Tumbao" sandwich which had a mix of flavors that will keep lingering in your mouth afterwards. The service was great! I would definitely come back. PS: this is the first ever review I leave after eating at a restaurant.

Yelp
I had the cuban and it was ok, but the meat was super salty and it was literally dripping with grease. My daughter got a custom bowl and thought it was just ok as well.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were able to order from the food truck and it did not disappoint. I love plantains and Latin cuisine so this was perfect. I ordered the El Mayimbe Plantain sandwich and it was my favorite, the flavor was immaculate! My boyfriend's sandwich (El Tumbao) was also good. We ate our sandwiches so fast we ordered one more to share (El Chavo). 10/10 experience, service, and food. Absolutely will order here again!

Yelp
Today, we were craving Spanish food and we stumbled upon a restaurant called "Latin Quarter". My son ordered the Mangu-Tres Golpes with a twist called "La Máquina" and he loved it so much that he shared pictures of it on social media with his friends. I chose the Burrito Bowl "La Vegana" because I'm on a vegan diet and I ordered a version of the "Ropa Vieja" made with Jackfruit. The taste was so similar to the original beef dish that I didn't miss it at all. Finished it all with a "Morrir Soñando adult drink". My 8-year-old daughter ordered two steak tacos on flour tortillas from the kids' menu and also had a side of chips and salsa. She ate everything on her plate, which is quite unusual for her picky taste. Overall, my son gave the restaurant two greasy thumbs up with a huge smile on his face. The staff was polite, welcoming, helpful, and attentive, and the restaurant's ambiance made me feel like I was back in New York at a Dominican restaurant, enjoying my meal. In conclusion, our Spanish food craving was fully satisfied at the "Latin Quarter" restaurant. Definitely will visit again

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing. It was everything that was advertised. Flavorful and delicious. 10/10!

Yelp
We had two bowls, El Tumbao and La Cubanita. We first ate at their food truck at the Latino Farmers Market and really liked it. We have eaten at the restaurant twice and it is great. The weekday lunch specials are fantastic. Service is friendly, food is great and a good portion. The art work in the restaurant is beautiful. Definitely recommend both the food truck and the brick and mortar.

Yelp
My wife and I ate at the cafe yesterday. The food and service were outstanding. I'm looking forward to going back and sampling more items on the menu.

Yelp
Unique flavors and nice menu. Can't wait to try other items. Friendly staff. We were the only ones there at first but quickly more patrons arrived.

Yelp
So much flavor from a food truck, it's insane! I'm obsessed with the sauces on each dish and the fact that they use plantains for their sandwich "bread". Everything is so fresh and unique. Most recently we had their food at the Que Pasa festival. The food isn't too spicy, but relies on fresh flavorful ingredients to let the spirit of the Latin Quarter shine through. You will not regret any part of this indulgence! If there's a food truck event, I'm searching for this one!

Mikaela B.

Yelp
The waiter dumped a drink all over my lap and still charged me for it lol. Food was okay.

Yelp
This place has just opened up next to my gym and I've been waiting to try the food. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for something new please swing by. Tried a few different things and it was all great. Love the music and feel to the restaurant. Look forward to the summer.

Yelp
Awesome Food! Great Service! Must try the Spicy Margarita! And chips and dips flight. Thanks again! We will be back

Yelp
It Doesn't get any better than this!!! OMGEEEE I can't even begin to describe the friggin experience this was for me!! This was so indescribable. I have not had ethnic food this good in a long time, especially not from a food truck. The menu contains all of my favorite components, plantains, some type of juicy well seasoned meat, and depending on what you select, pickles, cheese, onions and some other Deliciousness. Everything tasted so mouth slobbering amazing I hate to share with anyone. Again, I was hanging out with the foodie bloggers @we_hungryaf and they ordered the Cubanito, Tumbao, elote and sweet plantains. I was given a share plate and it was on and popping!! My favorite was the Cubanito, which was their twist on a Cuban sandwich and they didn't disappoint me at all. The meat was so tender, flavorful and juicy it was like butter. I liked the Tumbao, but I LOVED the Cubanito. The Elote, and Sweet Plantain's added a nice touch. Anyways, Don't take my word for it, Go try for yourselves. Go to their IG @latinquarterrva where they regularly update their schedule and location. You will not regret it. I'm definitely going back to try some of their other yummee looking dishes.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Really tasty food. Love that the sandwiches are made from plantains instead of bread. Got the El Tumbao, yuca fries, street corn(not on the cob so easy to eat!), & La cubanita. Would definitely come back and try more items off the menu.

Yelp
Food 4/5 Service N/A Ambiance N/A Had food delivered from Latin Quarter. Had the El Tumbao which was awesome! The Ropa Vieja was a little bit dry but overall the dish was amazing. Will definitely order again.

Kathryn M.

Yelp
Loved it. We were looking for good Latin food in the area. We tried the burrito bowls. Mine was el Chavo. It was delicious!!

Harold C.

Yelp
Love The Latin Quarter! Sat outside since it was very good weather. Food was excellent and the service was fantastic. We had a great time (two of my friends joined me). Highly recommend.

Pauli G.

Yelp
Friendly staff, great food, and well maintained location. Good music choices. Places are like these are great when looking for something outside the box. Always nice to find a new good lunch spot

Don O.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food. Small dining area including a covered patio. Interesting beer selections. I'll be back!

Jack G.

Yelp
Where has Latin Quarter been hiding all these years??!! La Cubanita was such an amazing combination of Latin flavors with the pernil slow-cooked to perfection. The salted tostones hit the spot!! I am a huge fan and will return to try other dishes.

Mandy M.

Yelp
SO much flavor in every bite! Service and atmosphere were great. This was an excellent surprise lunch spot, and we will be back!

Eliz C.

Yelp
We had a great experience at LQ! We started with the smothered fried yucca and it far exceeded our expectations. Delicious and surprisingly light, we both agreed that this was a new favorite. I then had The Big Papi, a pork and slaw quesadilla. It did not disappoint! Lots of flavor, perfectly crispy and warm with a delicious salsa. Pops said "two thumbs up" for his El Chacal Quesadilla with chicken, elote and jalapeño ranch salsa. One last thing to crave... the Spicy Margarita. Altogether a most excellent visit. And we'll be back!

Casey S.

Yelp
Latin Quarter is a game changer! So incredibly delicious. My coworkers and I were so impressed, we ordered it again the very next day. Nothing disappointed. A MUST TRY!

Bri D.

Yelp
The atmosphere is cozy and quaint, they have great music selections, and our server was amazing! I feel bad that I cannot remember name but I can see myself wanting to request her when I return. The apps came out quickly and although our food came out shortly after that, I wasn't bothered by it. I tried yucca fries for the first time and it tasted so similar to a potato. The cilantro cream sauce was unexpectedly great too. I most certainly ordered the tostones as I love them so much. I took a chance on ordering the spicy margarita with mango flavor and I rate a 8.5/10. A smidge more spice sweetness would've given it a solid 10 but overall very satisfying drink. For lunch I had the El Mayimbe sandwich and that was instantly a 10/10. Packed with flavor and just the right temperature. I also ordered the La Cubanita to go and I will say heating it up in the oven is the way to go since I enjoyed it the next day. I enjoyed my first visit and I will surely be back.

Singh S.

Yelp
Richmond has a lot of restaurants that sell bowls (among other things), and this is easily top 5. Also, great location that has a number of other places you can order from. Will definitely be trying more places in ChefSuite
