MICHELIN Guide San Francisco 2019 Selection

"Nicolas Delaroque’s Nico originally opened in Laurel Heights and was removed from the guide after it closed in 2017. After the restaurant reopened in nearby Jackson Square, inspectors found that the cooking is as good as ever." - Abbe Baker

Yelp
This is really more Presidio Heights review. My fav neighborhood and stomping ground. Great location to get anywhere in SF. Close to Laurel village, The presidio, everywhere. Clean and safe....I guess the Dems can't mess that up .....Yet!

Yelp
#39/2016 In a word: Posh. Whether it's the mansions overlooking the Bay or the swanky antique, clothing and shoe stores that line Sacramento Street (also known as "couch row" for its number of psychologists' and psychiatrists' offices discreetly nestled between or above the shops), there's something about Laurel Heights that whispers "old money." While the houses are several to tens of millions of dollar properties, no one's flashy. You've probably walked right by a billionaire in khakis and a polo shirt just walking down the street and never knew it. It's old money like Pacific Heights but a lot more low-key. Laurel Heights also has one of the best theaters, the Vogue, as well as the Jewish Community Center that has the best gym in the city next to the Olympic Club but for an everyday-folks price (nice).

Yelp
You might think that Laurel Heights is just the red headed stepchild compared to Pacific Heights & Presidio Heights, but actually that would be an unfair analogy. What is NOT to love about Laurel Heights... There's no parking. But this is SF. There isn't parking anywhere. What IS to love about Laurel Heights... Spruce: The fabulous restaurant that is very distinguished AND very sexy. It's cool, it's dark, it's that refined kind of sexy. And they have one of the top burgers in the city. Plus, their tiny cafe is perfect for grabbing morning delectables. Sociale: The fabulous restaurant you have to walk through a cobblestoned corridor to get to. You end up in their front patio. But there's also a back patio! Is tres, tres romantic. This is the ideal spot to share very long & thin pasta w your paramour like they did in "Lady & the Tramp." The Vogue Theater: The antithesis of your Metreon or AMC. Movie House. They do cool things, like a 3 day Frank Sinatra festival. Which is actually going on right now (8/22/15)! Till tomorrow night! Laurel Village Shopping Center: The best! There's A PARKING LOT! And, it's FREE! There is a 90 minute limit of course, but who cares?! It's FREE! There's both Starbucks & Peet's, Cal-Mart, Sweet Things Bakery, Antonelli's Meats, Noah's Bagels, Papyrus (the only one in SF that does personalized cards), Books Inc. (they gift wrap for free), & the posh Bryan's Market. (I mentioned a lot of the above paragraph in my previous review for Cal-Mart) And there's an A.G. Ferrari Foods, a toy store, art galleries, & boutiques. So, I ask again... What is NOT to love about Laurel Heights?! 5 stars.
