Yelp
A somewhat new bar in Capitol Hill, which I was convinced to go because it was on InKind and I had some credits to use. I went on a Thursday evening and it was moderately busy, but enough spots for anyone to choose where they want to sit. I got the cookies and cream espresso martini with a cookie, as well as some almonds. $18 for a cocktail is okay, not the best value, not the worst. The cookies and cream espresso martini didn't have much cookies and cream flavor, indistinguishable from a regular espresso martini. The Hello Robin cookie was good but didn't feel representative of an actual Hello Robin Cookie since it's a take and bake, and they upcharge quite a bit as it was $5. I guess they can since it's a bar. The almonds that usually come complimentary at other bars was $6, which felt pricy. They were good quality but given that this is just the base price, it was steep. I'd rather just only get drinks here than rely on some overpriced snacks to supplement my cocktail.
Service is okay but I still need to flag down and be proactive for requests. Not representative of their mandatory 20% service charge. Not many places deserve the 20% gratuity as they do the bare minimum these days, so by that logic, it's hard for me to give good reviews for such places.
I may check out their happy hour as the pricing feels more fair, but I'd not recommend this place during regular hours pricing.
