Lavash Persian Restaurant

The Iranian restaurant "Lavash" is located in North London. I recently had dinner at this restaurant and had a very good experience. The food was very delicious and of high quality. My wife and I ordered the chenjeh kebab and grilled fish, and both dishes were very tasty. The drinks were also very good. The restaurant decoration was very beautiful and attractive, and it had a warm and intimate atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and professional and provided excellent service. The food prices were also reasonable, and considering their quality, I believe that the value of the food is much greater than the price you pay. Overall, my experience at Lavash restaurant was very positive, and I recommend it to all lovers of Iranian food

Another gem you have to try. The food was lovely and cooked to perfection, with just the perfect amount of spices. Especially loved the tender meat and succulent chicken pieces which went lovely with the sweet and puffy rice.

Fantastic local Persian restaurant with super friendly staff, spacious seating and absolutely delicious authentic food all incredibly good value which is perfect for sharing with family or friends. We shared a few starters including the super tasty hummus and their famous "Mirza (Ghasemi)" blended aubergine dip all served with freshly-baked flatbread alongside a thin and crispy stone-baked garlic bread. For main courses we decided to order a selection of their special dishes including the Momtaz Special (one skewer of juicy delicious grilled chicken on the bone) and one skewer of the most amazing minced lamb kofte (Koobideh) as well as the brilliant orange-spiced saffron rice on grilled chicken. All incredibly well-cooked and clean plates all round. Of course we couldn't resist trying the (superb selection of) desserts including the traditional Persian Ice Cream with Vermicelli and the Mint Trufetto (mint choc chip Ice-Cream in a chocolate shell) plus a Turkish Coffee and Fresh Mint Tea to round off our meal. Overall an outstanding dinner - highly recommended 10/10

Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. Very good authentic Persian food with a twist. The starters are amazing with a good variety of high quality reasonably priced plates to share. In house made Persian bread. The main dishes are equally made with high quality ingredients and tasteful seasoning. Takeaway service. Popular for special occasions. Very good service. Recommended.

Lovely restaurant serving authentic Persian dishes. Lots of choice and plenty for vegetarians and vegans as many of their starters can be vegan. Staff are friendly and accommodating and prices are good. You get big portions and leave full.

Went to Lavash for Sunday lunch food served was Persian which included as starters a cheese dip an aurbergine dip a fresh salad and mushrooms we were served with this fresh flat bread which was being baked on the premises. Very healthy and fresh. For mains we shared between 12 of us lamb shanks served with Persian rice a chicken dish and a grilled fish. All this was also very healthy They served alcohol but I liked the selection of fresh juices which h included carrot, carrot celery and apple and a few others. The only thing I was not happy with was desert which was apple crumble but found it far too sweet but on the whole was pleased with the service and the food.

Without a shadow of doubt one of the best Persian Restaurants in London. It is amazing the way Lavash Restaurant has achieved such a high standard. Food was absolutely delicious, staff very friendly and accommodating. Prices reasonable for the excellent quality offered . A relaxing and very pleasant surrounding. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for their tasty and generous servings.

I love Iranian food, but the worse quality food I have had was here. I ordered mix kebab take away, the meat was so dry it had foams, and I am certain it must have gone off and they cooked it anyway, because the taste was absolutely awful. I am still furious for that ruined apatite

Lavash (the typical Iranian/ Persian bread) is a really nice looking restaurant, quite modern and spacious. Must sit around 100 people. I have only been here once, but have been to quite a few Iranian restaurants, and when looking at the menu, I thought to try the Beef fillet steak in cream, mushroom and red onion sauc, costing 18 pounds. What really shocked me was that it didn't come with rice, and an iraninan meal doesn't make sense without it, so I ordered a whole plate of it as a side, nice fluffy saffron rice, absolutely delicious, they do the best rice!! I find that at Iranian restaurants, I always comment on the great bread and rice. Without doubt, the rice at Lavash was great, and so was the bread, cooked in its own bread oven, arriving at your table, warm, flat and fresh bread, lovely. My friends ordered various kebabs and all their reviews were pleasant, not one negative thing to say. Though at the same time, nothing amazing was said, as for my beef Fillet, it was fine, but it was the rice that had me at hello.

Can't fault this place. Food and service were excellent. But you pay for it. If it's your first Persian meal then try the mixed starter, followed by any of the grills (Makhsoos or the boneless chicken would be good ones to try), finished off by some bastany (or faloodeh) and Persian chai. Also try the doogh which is the traditional yoghurt drink. Enjoy.

The main course of rice and kebab was good too. Lamb Fillet layered across my plate with a good helping of rice and cooked tomato. This was a big meal and I just about managed to finish it all. JUST AS ONE SHOULD. ​Iranian Food is the ONE. My last meal will probably be rice and kebab; with a side of Steak, Sushi and lots more too. IT'S MY LAST MEAL AND I'LL EAT WHAT I WANT. Lavash is what I woudl expect for Iranian. I think the one issue is that they are tryign a bit too hard. Forget all the contemporary stuff and stick to the classics. Halloumi, Steak, there is no need for that. Keep to the good Iranian dishes and people will come and more importantly STAY and then come back again.

Visited here last night with a dinner booking for 2 people at 8pm. It was practically empty but soon became very busy and there was a buzzing atmosphere. The range of dishes is quite vast and for someone with a small stomach, the koobideh (one skewer of lamb with pickled cabbage and rice) was more than enough. A basket of fresh bread and yoghurt dip is offered complimentary at the start of the meal. Staff were very friendly and repeatedly attended to our table. Only downside is the rice is quite dry, it would have been much tastier if a sauce was given on the side of the dish. Otherwise, the lamb itself was delicious and priced very reasonably.

Lavash is a contemporary styled Persian restaurant in the leafy London suburb of Finchley. Growing up around a large number of Persians, including a few close friends, I am no stranger to Persian cuisine. In London there are thousands of Persians and as a result there is an endless supply of Persian restaurants to cater to them. I have been to many of them, but my favourite is Lavash. The restaurant is stylishly decorated and the low lighting and soft music sets the mood for either a romantic meal or a relaxing get together with family or friends. I have sampled most of the food here with Ghorme Sabzi, a stew of parsley, coriander, chives, lamb and red kidney beans, being an excellent starter. My favourite main course is called Jujeh - marinated chicken fillets, served with salad and rice. For your first visit here I would recommend the Mixed Grill, an assortment of lamb fillet, chicken fillet and minced lamb with salad and rice , which will allow you the chance to decide which will be your dish of preference on future visits. Be sure to try the lavash bread, which the restaurant is named after, baked fresh in their authentic oven. You can even watch the baker make it just outside the kitchen close to where you walk in. The owner and staff are very friendly and attentive and make you feel welcome as soon as you step in and smell the assorted aromas of Persia. If you can find better Persian food outside of Tehran I'd be very surprised!

Lavash can be out of the way for most people because its a little way out of the centre of London. But it's definitely worth a visit to experience quality food. Great service, great food, great price!

I understand and actually cook persian regularly. Didn't eat in Lavash so I wont comment on the restaurant and service. The food delivery I received was extremely disappointing, The lamb shank was tasteless and everything else besides the rice inedible. There's really not much more I can offer other than the food was terrible. There are many more Persian restaurants in the area I would be trying them.

What? I can't believe I haven't written a review on Lavash before. This is my favourite restaurant to bring groups of people to, as the fare is delicious, the atmosphere very warm, and the service friendly. The prices are great too. People can order what they want and I don't have to worry that the bill will be too high. There is almost always parking on the street out front. Highly recommended.

Dropped in early on a weekday and pleased to see a good number of people eating... local people and families.. which is usually a good sign! I tried the sultana polo. . Which was excelent. Service was very attentive... and the food was good. Cannot fault it.

I'm from Los Angeles and am very big on food culture. Since I came to London, I didn't find a restaurant that truly amazed me until I ate here. My fiancé found this place at random one night, and since it was one of the only restaurants in the area open late, we decided to give it a try. Truly amazing! We will definitely make the drive here again.

Lavash is the name of an Iranian bread but by swapping the last a for an i does describe this restaurant well! Tuesdy night is quiet but the food is consitently good - a table of 5 were served efficenintly and friendly. The food is is. Starters, if I am being honest are 'average', but the mains are excellent. They do grills and the lamb, either minced or chunks is done in a particular style that must be unique - the tenderness is to die for and the taste exquisite. The vegetarian option looked good too and everything was accompanied with light fluffy rice. The bread (lavash) is light & crispy. All in all if you're up the top end of the Finchley Road and lookng for a good meal do consider Lavash!

I'm not massively familiar with Persian food but do live Middle Eastern food in general; I found Lavash just okay, all the dishes and condiments were on the sweet side. The lamb kebab was delicious while the one pot chicken was disappointing.

I really enjoyed the food here, but it is quite expensive compared to some other Persian Restaurants. Service was excellent and friendly. I ordered a few starters that were a decent portion, and didn't have room for my main meal. The restaurant is spacious and has outside seating.
