Layla's American Tavern

In town for a wedding, a group of us wanted to have dinner together the night we arrived in Boston. I called ahead to make a reservation for 10 of us. Some of the people are older, so I called again and asked what we could do since their tables for groups of 10 are high tops with stools. Tim (answered the phone) graciously suggested the restaurant switch out the chairs for us to tall chairs with backs. I called again to put the request in once checking with my group. Again, the restaurant couldn’t be kinder or more accommodating! These chairs were perfect for us! The atmosphere of this restaurant was exactly what we were looking for! It’s a casual, busy place. The table we were at was nice for a group. The service and food were great! The bride showed up with a small group and requested to sit next to us and again the restaurant accommodated us. The atmosphere of the restaurant made it comfortable to get up and visit with everyone between both tables. Being from out of town, this was a fabulous start to the wedding weekend! I recommend Layla’s!

The food is okay, honestly pricey for what it is. The service was good. I got the mac n cheese with additional pulled pork and when we first got it, the amount of pulled pork they put was so small. I had to say something to our server because it was an additional fee so one would think that the serving size would be a decent size but it was like 2 chunks which was ridiculous. The manager mended this very quickly and he was so nice about it. Got the thai chicken bowl as well and the chicken was well marinated but the entree was dry - no sauce or anything. I’d probably try a lot of other places before coming back here to eat. It’s a good place to get a drink though!

Great service and atmosphere! I was here mid afternoon on a weekday but I'm sure it's a fun place to watch sporting events on the weekends. Had the turkey club which was tasty with a little kick, and huge as evidenced by the half I took to go. Will definitely come back!

I stopped here after a meeting because I'm in from out of town and needed a place to decompress at the end of the day. Great choice! My server Emily recommended a fantastic cocktail and the grilled chicken sandwich. Both are amazing. Atmosphere is kind of a high-end sports bar but still comfortable and not overpowering loud. Hit the spot!

Such a good vibe in here and awesome food!! Our server Ava was so so sweet and attentive. She was constantly making sure we had everything we need and made sure we never had an empty glass!! Definitely requesting her next time we come back!

Our waitress Hope was wonderful! She greeted us with a warmly, checked on us often, and gave us great recommendations. Her attention to detail and positive attitude really made our meal enjoyable. Excellent service from start to finish! Really recommend Laylas and this waitress.

We had an amazing experience at Layla’s thanks to our server, Victoria! She was incredibly personable, friendly, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we sat down. Our drinks and food came out quickly, and she was always right there when we needed anything. It’s so nice to have a server who’s both efficient and genuinely kind — Victoria made our night! Highly recommend asking for her if you visit Layla’s.

Nothing but great things to say about this place. The atmosphere is fun for a sports game, casual evening, and anything in between. Our table ordered various appetizers to split, and the food was great, but the service was even better. Our waitress Callie was attentive, friendly, and very fast with our food/drinks. She made sure we had everything we needed for the full duration of our visit, and I will be sure to go back soon!

I'm surprised this isn't a more popular brunch spot! I went at 1045am on a Saturday and there was so much seating available. The brunch portions were each and each dish was thoughtfully plated. I got the Cinnabon waffles and I loved the presentation. The dish was delicious as well, I was only able to finish half of it but I enjoyed every bite! Our server was very nice also.

Horrible service. Okay pub food but the experience wasn't worth the effort to get there. The servers echoed my trip to them. Not worth the trouble to get there and the service replicates

This is one of my favorite places in South Boston. The food is outstanding! There is plenty of seating: Bar, Booths & high top tables. Beautifully decorated & very clean. The staff are always happy & helpful. We tried the truffle fries...yum! TV's Galore! Highly recommend. No parking lot but found a non resident parking space on Broadway. Easily accessible by the T.

Preface this with we miss Shenanigan's. The food is actually really good. Would recommend to go for a game, bite and drink. I have taken multiple out of towners and it's never fails.

I have been here 3-4 times before but haven't left a review. It's a nice place with friendly staff and most importantly really great food! Having sampled quite a bit of the menu, I (nor the folks I have been with) have had anything but an awesome meal and good time! Lot's of television for those who want to enjoy watching a game.

Been to this place a few times and have visited other restaurants owned by the same company. Always a great and reliable experience! Food is consistently tasty. Service is good. A nice atmosphere for a sports bar but also a cute, fun, spot for a dinner out. I recommend the buffalo chicken dip, nachos, or the buffalo ceasar wrap, my go-tos!

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience at Laylas yesterday. I booked a reservation for 9:45pm for Saturday, 3 days in advance on OpenTable. I confirmed the reservation Friday via text. Additionally, I got a text at 9:45pm Saturday saying "please reply if you are on your way." I responded immediately. At 9:52 we arrived. The outside bouncer told us there were no reservations and the kitchen was closing at 10. We explained that is fine, we will just have drinks (The bar closes at 1am). He said no, and went to get a manager. The manager came out and was extremely rude, disrespectful, and raised his voice at us. He said the kitchen is closed, and we were way too late for our reservation. Again, we arrived at 9:52 and let the restaurant know via text we were on the way. He said to us "don't pretend we are in the wrong here". I showed the reservation on our phone and how we confirmed with the restaurant twice - but we were still told we were wrong. It was clear the restaurant mistakenly took our reservation via OpenTable. They had 3 days to cancel - but did not. The fact that they blamed US for their mistake is beyond me. I have never been so disrespected and belittled by a manager before.

Nice big bar, the foods not amazing but. I thing to complain about, and the bar tenders (especially Molly) have always been super friendly.

Fantastic food, fun atmosphere and great drinks. Been 3+ times since it opened and everytime was great. Nachos are incredible, buff chick dip 10/10, turkey burger blew my mind and steak salad had perfect cook and tender as hell. Great spot to hangout with friends or watch a game knocking back a few beers (solid draft list) or cocktails. Servers have been friendly and attentive each time. No complaints, new favorite spot in southie

Food was not cooked to my liking asked twice and it was not as tasty as it used to be. Service was tentative & done ok this round. Ambiance the place is phenomenal and amazing. I do recommend everyone should give this a try.

Food was so delicious! My two friends and I all loved what we got. I got the burrata pasta and it was unreal!

Too noisy, likely due to a match being on, which wasn't a big deal. However, the waiting time was unacceptable. Our drinks arrived half an hour later, and our food took an entire hour to be served. We ordered steak tips and steak fajitas, requesting them to be cooked medium well. Despite the long wait, the food was undercooked. If there's a staff shortage, the restaurant should limit the number of customers it accepts.

gross establishment . Customer service was awful and the bar manager was not friendly, wish I knew this before coming to lunch with my mother

Asked for 2 drinks. Charged me for 2 spilled one completely over. When we complained about it we got kicked out. Don't go here.

Horrible I ordered a well done burger it came rare waited 30 min for them to fix the mistake a hour total just for the rest of my food to be cold. What a joke! The managers are horrible and couldn't take accountability.

The manager was so kind enough to accommodate our large party on short notice. The wait staff was excellent, food delicious with great variety, and fun ambiance!! Great new addition to southie.

A nice rebuild of the old Shenanigans spot. The food is fresh and the staff accommodating. Some shared items are a little portion controlled for Southie, but the whole atmosphere is pleasant and well-managed. It is corporate, so it isn't cheap eats, even for lunch, but the food comes out looking nice. Some other restauranteurs in the area should come and see how it is done. It will be loud on the weekend nights, we prefer a Thursday night.

The food was DELICIOUS, the drink selection is creative and inclusive of all palates, and our experience with their customer service was foar and away the best I've ever experienced. We ordered a kid's meal and they forgot the toast. Not only did they comp the kid's meal, they offered dessert and apologized with several layers of staff. I will be a return customer to this amazing establishment and I'm not even local.
