I'm so disappointed to have to write this review, because this could be a really lovely restaurant, particularly on a sunny evening, when you can eat on the terrace with the most wonderful view, as we did yesterday. The menu is varied and interesting, and the service was professional and friendly (at least to begin with). The starters of rillettes of tuna and crispy parcels of scallops were both excellent, and I was looking forward to my fillet of beef Rossini, which I asked to be cooked "sagnant" (bloody), or rare. However, when it arrived it was medium to well cooked, and though I hate complaining because it ruins a meal, when we were asked if everything was fine, I had to say that to be honest, this was not a rare steak. It was 27€ after all. So the server said she would change it. Then she came back from the kitchen to tel me that it was as I'd ordered, and with any less cooking it would be "blue". I said please can I have it rare. (I should point out this was all in French, and my French is pretty good. I also know what a rare steak is like. It is not grey nearly all the way through, as this was). Then the replacement arrived, virtually raw. At this point I'd lost my appetite, so asked for the bill as we just wanted to leave. They didn't charge for the steak (well I hadn't eaten it) , but there was no apology and they still insisted that I was wrong, it had all been fine. So thank you, L'azimut, for spoiling my birthday treat. Such a shame, it could be so lovely, but I don't want to go there again.
