The 10 Best Bars In Cleveland 2024 - Cleveland - The Infatuation

"Nobody knows exactly what LBM stands for, but our guess is for something along the lines of Loud, Belligerent, and Moody. Service industry professionals opened this bar because they were tired of working for other people, and they now do whatever they want, like playing Scandinavian heavy metal at all hours of the day. The bartenders here sling complicated cocktails, like the semi-sweet Star Stealer made with brown butter-washed brandy, sherry, balsamic fig, and walnut, and all the drinks are great for washing down the burger served on a focaccia bun. LBM gets too crowded on weekends for much conversation, but you’re not here to remember any details beyond the fake names you give the taxidermied deer heads on the wall." - kate bigam kaput

The 38 Essential Cleveland Restaurants

"It doesn’t take visitors long to see that LBM is not your typical neighborhood bar. Sporting a “Viking drinking hall” vibe, the kitschy, high-spirited setting might seem at odds with a serious cocktail program. But stick around long enough to see past the artifice and you’ll discover that LBM is an unpretentious cocktail bar with spitfire beverages like the Ocean of Wounds, which blends lime-infused mezcal, Bonal, Cynar, and mole bitters. There’s also some shockingly good grub. Come during happy hour and you’ll eat and drink like a jarl for a pittance." - Douglas Trattner

Came a few weeks ago and loved it. Food was delish, oysters were so good!! Drinks were very well crafted. Service was nice .. prompt and not overbearing. Also loved the music. If I lived in Lakewood I'd definitely frequent often. Just an overall cool little vibe.

Anson E.

Google
A wonderful bunch of goofy professionals that make amazing cocktails, non-alcoholic cocktails, food and desserts with a rotating menu that changes roughly every 2 to 4 months. This is a place I will take out of town friends when I get the chance because they almost always leave happy and impressed. One of my favorite and go to places on the west side

Shawn G.

Google
GREAT food, good service, killer atmosphere. The Pork Belly was Melt-in-your-Mouth. Even they pickles and shredded veggies they came with were great. The Flautas were also delicious. I couldn't finish both and had to take one home. haha. The service was good. Not in your face but made plenty of trips for us. The Atmosphere was very cool. Loud music was playing, lots of creepy aesthetics, exposed edge wood tables, and even their bathrooms were nice.

Patrick W.

Google
Awesome cocktail menu if you're willing to be a little adventurous! Make a reservation on the weekend - it will get busy.

andrew S.

Google
All of their cocktails are phenomenal - you cannot go wrong. The non-alcoholic cocktails are so vibrant and refreshing as well. The bartenders are fantastic and very friendly. Food was exceptional as well, particularly the croquettes!

Google
The geeks and goths grew up and became cool. They realized they had good taste. And then they opened up a bar with some of the best bar bites around. I should note first that if you're not partial to loud metal music, then a viking bar like LBM is not the right place for you. Otherwise, highly recommend coming to check out the macabre and tongue-in-cheek decor, cocktails, and food. All seating is first come first serve, and your best bet is to come with one other person and sit at the bar, where you can still enjoy their food menu. And watch whatever cult classic movie they're playing on the TV behind the bar. Employees were all friendly and quirky (in the best way) and happy to answer any questions. Menu changes seasonally, but I have to say my favorite dish I've had there is the bone marrow which came with frightfully good jam and bread. Don't sleep on this.

Justin B.

Google
I'm not sure why it took us this long to go here but we will definitely be back Some of the best cocktails around. My old fashioned was probably the best one I've ever had. Food was top notch, service was also super great. Do go. Really really.

Google
If you're a fan of Vikings, heavy metal soundtracks, and expertly crafted cocktails, LBM in Lakewood, Ohio is a Valhalla you cannot miss. This Norse-themed bar is a haven for those who love a little food and alcohol mixed with their metal. The cocktail menu is a true testament to LBM's creativity. They've got classics with unique twists and seasonal selections that'll blow your mind. Be sure to try the "Doomin Sun" – It will make you feel like a true warrior. If you love something a little different, the "Savage Garden" is a vibrant, herbaceous delight that'll awaken your senses. But don't think LBM only caters to cocktail connoisseurs. Their burger is one of the best in Lakewood – juicy, cooked to perfection, topped with all the good stuff. Pair it with a side of their crispy fries, and you're in for a feast worthy of an Asgardian celebration. The Viking atmosphere is a major plus. Get ready to immerse yourself in a world of rustic wood, Norse imagery, and a soundtrack of epic metal tunes that sets the perfect mood. LBM is definitely a place where you embrace your inner warrior while enjoying great drinks and food. Highly recommended for a unique and delicious night out!

Yelp
10/10 every time. Great food, cocktails, staff and ambience. Worth the wait on a busy weekend, I promise.

Yelp
i really enjoy and appreciate the decor and heavy music. great location in birdtown. the menu seems to change regularly. it currently seems a little larger than last time. more employees than customers, talking and having a good time with nothing else to do. but they can't box up your leftovers for you. service consistently poor here. it's almost like a tough guy club and you don't fit in. 3 bartenders. the female was excellent. drinks and food beautifully presented. excellent tom collins and kimchi fried rice.

Yelp
LBM was one of our first stops in Cleveland and it really set the bar high for cocktails in the city. We met up with some local friends and enjoyed looking around the bar as it's decorated with some interesting items - it's giving death metal demonic vibes, which was unique and different. Probably not for everyone but I liked it. The lighting above the bar was very cool. We arrived during happy hour and enjoyed a $10 cocktail. Happy hour runs 4-7pm on weekdays and also includes some cheaper food items. I loved the Hellhound cocktail and you can't beat a $10 drink. The space isn't huge so we had a bit of a wait for a table, but they have a bar rail that you can order from while you wait. All the employees were super friendly and very helpful with recommendations. We also had the margherita fries for a delicious snack. What a great little neighborhood bar! If I lived nearby I feel like I would want to go here all the time.

Yelp
Fourth time I've ever been in. I was stopped at the door and told I wasn't welcome. I asked if it was because I was wearing a kilt. Answer: No, you've been in here a lot and skipped paying your tab. I've NEVER done that anywhere. I offered my ID so they could compare against the tabs. Asked if I could talk to someone about it as I had friends coming in to meet. NOPE! The young lady at the front door said she "didn't know me, but she knows her friends and they say I skipped tabs." Who are the friends? Who pointed and said, "it's him"? I hope it was a horrific misunderstanding, but I WON'T be back. if you have an issue with skips, collect IDs or run credit cards in advance. DON'T accuse innocent people as they walk in based on what "your friends" say.

Yelp
pretty cool place! liked the vibe. decent cocktail. service pretty much sucked ass. felt more like an inconvenience than a customer. woulda ordered another drink and some food but i didn't wanna be a bother.

Yelp
I stopped by LBM recently while visiting the area and I was glad I did. It was a really solid cocktail bar blasting death metal. The guys working were quite friendly and they made an incredible cocktail. The cocktails on the menu there seemed to be original and not like anything I had seen elsewhere. I rolled with a Doomin Sun and I was happy with my selection. It was uniquely flavorful. Solid spot that I will absolutely revisit next time I am in the area.

Yelp
Several local bartenders had recommended this place to us as one of the top cocktail bars in Cleveland, and we finally got around to trying it. I'll admit, I'm not a fan of heavy metal, so I was a little worried about the vibe. But, at least when we came, early on a Saturday afternoon, it was very chill -- more classic rock than metal, and not crowded at all. We tried three drinks: 1) Gunslinger 2.0: This one really sells out on the ginger, which works awesome if you like ginger (and we do!). Very bright, zippy, and refreshing. 2) Golden Daze: Light, tropical, not too tart. Maybe just a touch sweeter than it needs to be? 3) Crushed by a Dwarf: Comes in a super fun tiki mug with a color-changing light in it! Not going to lie, I love the gimmick. Maybe my favorite drink of the three! A little smoky from the mezcal, some cool spice flavors, very complex. For food, we shared the burger, which was divisive. I was totally on board--goat cheese, arugula, and a perfect (giant) patty. I'm there for it all the way. For my fiancé, it was a little too creative. His biggest complaint was the house ketchup: it's interesting and tasty, but sometimes you just want normal ketchup with your burger and fries. One thing we totally agreed on was that the fries themselves were INCREDIBLE. He would have called it four stars, but luckily for LBM, I'm the one writing!

Yelp
The bone marrow was huge and so delicious with the sweet tart balsamic pate! The mixed greens were a great balancing touch with the toast points too. The shrimp was also delicious and lightly fried with plenty of accompaniment.

Yelp
If you love a craft cocktail this is the place for you!! They have different specials and I tried about three of them. I really enjoyed the grounds for divorce coffee drink that will be discontinuing shortly. So If you are reading this.....it maybe too late. The first time I went I sat at the bar and I believe my bartender's name started with a B. He was great! All his recommendations were spot on. The second time I went ( yes this was in a 3 day time span.....dont judge me) my server was Jason. Jason was amazing. He was super knowledgeable about the menu, drinks and background on the establishment. The food menu is a bit small but perfect at the same time. The BURGER is top tier and I really enjoy the pikora with the jalapeno dipping sauce (YUM!). The only negative thing I can say, and this definitely subjective, is the music. I am not into heavy metal at all and would prefer not to hear it while I am eating. However, the food and drink will keep me coming back. Tip: They do have an outdoor dining option but make sure to wear your bug spray. Closed on Sunday Also, try to guess what LBM stands for? aa fun game to play with your server.

Yelp
Came here in a whim. So glad I did. The music is not my taste, but the food s decent and the mixology is crazy good. So many great options that are off the neaten path. I had the margarita fries, some new ciders I hadn't tried, and the LOT FPU was... wow! The decor is different, the staff is super kind and friendly. The shelves: I just cannot believe the diverse alcohol selection there. It blew my mind. The marble races on TV? Seriously. Don't ask. Just go. Enjoy.

Yelp
I might be a little in love with the bartender, Emily. She's so nice every time I come in and is an amazing bartender, her smile genuinely brightens my day. The food and drinks are always beyond expectations. If I had a friend visiting from out of town, I'd bring them here. Hope this business continues to succeed because they're doing great work

Yelp
Stopped into LBM for happy hour to enjoy a few easy drinking #2 Strohs on a hot summer day. The service is always great, and I tried the flatbread, which was a little soggy but yummy.
google avatar

Heath A.

Yelp
Amazing place for happy hour. I very much appreciate their selection of mocktails. Service is always top notch.
google avatar

Ailin J.

Yelp
Came here during happy hour Friday night and it wasn't that busy! I have heard weekend evenings the bar gets packed for people here just for drinks. The house drink hellhound is my favorite. Love the color and taste and has a slight tangy feel to it. Would order this again. Our server was nice but when I asked him about popular cocktails he just said just order whatever alcohol you like, doesn't matter, which made me feel hesitant. Burger was bomb! Not sure what the aioli sauce they used but it was such an unique taste. Would definitely come back for the burger itself!

Yelp
Popped in for date night recently and can't believe I had not reviewed this place sooner! I've been here several times over the years and always enjoyed my visits whether with friends or lovers! I think this is a great spot for happy hour or dinner and cocktails if you are so inclined! I like that they make tasty adult beverages that have legit booze in them. Let me explain. Sometimes I go to an establishment and they charge a lot of money for a cocktail and I feel like I'm drinking some chemical sugary nonsense or some trying too hard BS. I want my cocktail to make me feel like I have ingested alcohol. LBM does not play around, their drinks are top notch excellence. Two of those babies and I'm in the sweet spot. You're getting winks from me alright! Food is A-Okay too. And staff is pleasant, except for that dude who never wants to give you personal recommendations. Not sure why he has to be that way, I like asking what people like as it might give me an idea on something to try off the menu that I might not have considered previously. But okay, Mr. Crankypants, you are cool otherwise! Our recent visit they had a New Orleans theme, but they change up the menu regularly so you might encounter some fabulous new topic. Enjoy!

Yelp
I truly believe that LBM has something for everyone here~ you simply cannot go wrong with anything you try here and we were SO ecstatic about the variety in the drink menu. It was a Goldilocks moment, not too many options, not too few but each carefully selected and perfected. Each of us had different palates when it came to our drink of choice, but we were all able to easily find drinks that fit our preferences. While I cannot personally speak to the delightfulness of the other drinks, my Invocation to Feronia quickly topped my list of favorite drinks in Cleveland. It's sweet, refreshing, herbacious notes really hit the mark. The other drinks were received with similar enthusiasm. You cannot go wrong with any of these! We also got a round of shots that fully delivered! Food was also incredible and we have no complaints for any of the dishes we got, but I think their selling point is definitely their unique, but delicious drink menu. Service was also impeccable and we have nothing but praise to say about our server- he was a high point to the evening and we had a splendid time with him. LBM has made our list of places we're coming back to~ You have to check this place out, it's a must go!!!

Yelp
Ooooooeeeeeh, this place is a gem! Since before moving here last May I've been excited to try LMB and am so grateful that I finally had a chance to enjoy it! Their menu is fantastic. Not only is it physically fun and esthetically pleasing, they have a great variety of delicious cocktails and food. I tried an Old Fashioned (I usually order this the first time I try new cocktail bars because it's my fav drink) and it was perfect! One of my friends had a tiki drink and said it was awesome. We had the crab cakes and they were A+! The vibe in here is casual and fun and very well decorated. I'm looking forward to going back soon. I can definitely see this becoming one of my go-to spots for a drink!
google avatar

Carol S.

Yelp
Good food and an amazing drink selection! We sat at the bar so we got to watch the talented bartenders in action!! Looking forward to returning soon!!

Sarah N.

Yelp
Great bar with amazing cocktails, friendly service, & delicious food! Revolving menu keeps us coming back, but the burger & gimlet are my personal staples. Their happy hour is a great deal & a guaranteed way to get a spot at the bar. Definitely try the dessert (made by another local vendor), pop-ups, & special events (like Kitty's dumplings!)
google avatar

Erica T.

Yelp
Horrible service. Not first time I've experienced this. I've never left a bad review on yelp. Bartenders were arrogant and purposefully ignored us. Disappointing. Needs to bring a stronger game in the CLE scene.
google avatar

Deb B.

Yelp
So, Ewwww. LBM. Had a couple drinks, very good, bartender attentive. (Two stars both go to him). Then another round. Female bartender harasses my friend because she doesn't agree with her comment, (private conversation). Then I watch her multiple times mix a cocktail, lick the spoon and put it back in the jar. Gross. I won't be back.
google avatar

Holly F.

Yelp
Was told to "get the fuck out" (twice) because no one was available at the door to check our vaccine cards. And that was determined to be some kind of refusal, and somehow our fault, even tho we had cards. Felt totally unwelcome, and embarrassed, since I talked this place up to my friend, who is a front line health care worker (and so obv vaccinated). Decided to leave after being treated like that. 10/10 would not recommend.
google avatar

Marty K.

Yelp
Loved everything about this place. Food is was great and interesting, not a typical bar food situation. Drinks were great and the bartenders were very skilled

Lisette D.

Yelp
Came here just before last call on a Saturday night and Emily was nice enough to take care of us! Her drinks were amazing and her customer service was top notch. She made us feel great after a long day of work. Also, her music selection was hit after hit. I will definitely come back to this bar when I'm back in Cleveland. They also let us stay in the bar until our Uber arrived, so we felt safe. Thank you Emily and LBM staff!
google avatar

Jasmine G.

Yelp
I'm not sure what I expected with such an ambiguous bar name. My girl friend wanted to grab drinks here for her birthday and had raved about it being one of her favorite bars. When she mentioned "dark and edgy" I was skeptical. She was not wrong. I don't think I've been to a bar with a Viking theme and from what I've read and heard from other people - it seems to be authentic. We had a short wait on a Saturday night but were able to get one of the high tops for the 4 of us. A lot of people were standing around the bar, but If you're getting grub, there is an area just across from the bar where you can sit down. We only got drinks but the food smelled amazing. Drunchiessss. They had their seasonal in house eggnog, which was strawberry shortcake. My god. It actually tasted like strawberry shortcake, in drink form. Totally recommended. I honestly could not tell if there was booze in it, and when I asked if it had alcohol in it, the guy laughed and mentioned it was full of two types of rum and honey vanilla vodka. YUMM!! Holiday party in a cup.

Yelp
Came in for Happy Hour after not visiting for a year. This place has high-quality drinks at very fair prices and food that can stand on its own. I got the happy hour old fashioned, which had a unique house blend of whiskey. Simple but extremely well, executed. The burger and oysters ($2 HH oysters) were amazing. Make sure to indulge in the house-made aioli and ketchup. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Consistent, Well Executed, and Creative but not Pretentious _______ COVID-19 Protocols 5/5

Yelp
Cannot believe this is where DJ Besto used to tear the roof off when it was Corner Pub. RIP DJ Besto. Great job on the renovation. Very cool laser lights on ceiling. Reminded me of David Lo Pan's lair in Big Trouble in Little China. The carved wood was impressive. We have covered the elements of earth and fire. Now to the liquid. Outstanding drinks. The happy hour cannot be beat. They have a hamburger and fries for $7 or $8 on special at that time. It was up there with Lava Lounge for my favorite burger in Cleveland. I was told the beef is from TJ Butcher Block which is my favorite. I think LBM stands for Loose Baby Mama but I cannot say for sure.

Yelp
Thanks goes to The Cleveland Bucket List for turning us on to this one. With so many bars in Lakewood, it's hard to find one that stands out. I liked this place for its wiccan vibe (they call it "Viking aesthetic") and unique yet relatively well-priced cocktails. The food: N/A (didn't try any) The drinks: the main attraction! Tried the Deliver This Creature (Peloton Mezcal, House Aquavit, Carrot Juice, Citrus Cordial, Lemon, Ginger Bitters), Hunter Moon (Bacardi 4 Yr Rum, Bombay Dry Gin, Valley Vineyards Mead, White Grape Juice, Honey, Lemon, Orange Flower Water), and Witches Wedding (don't remember exact ingredients but something like gin, tequila, cachaca, matcha green tea, honeydew, coconut). I would rank them: Deliver This Creature (5/5), Witches Wedding (4/5), Hunter Moon (3/5). Hunter Moon was a bit disappointing as it mostly just tasted sweet/sour and the individual flavors didn't really come through much at all. The vibe: witchcraft and vikings. Dark decor but lots of natural light from big windows. The service: our server could not have been sweeter or more helpful. She was great at describing the drinks and giving recommendations. 10/10. The happy hour: we were here on a Saturday so no happy hour but our cocktails were all $10 or less. A lot of the Yelp reviews mention going for happy hour, so it seems they have one although I can't find the details anywhere :(

Yelp
First time here w GAT & Weez, they've been to this Viking bar before. Ordered up a tom Collins it's good. GAT the upside down (old fashioned) complete w the giant round iceball. Reminds me of my trip to Daytona the water was 61*. Weez the Paloma (margarita). Good stiff drinks. Cool beer guy type waiters. Loud punk music but an airy high end feel inside not intimidating, at least in the dining room. Where do the stairs go I wonder. I got the poutine let's check it out! Good poutine pretty fancy. Lots of flavor & hot. I'm gonna get a coors & some empanadas when my lady friend gets here. She's actually Weez friend she has no idea what she's getting into ha. Shady dudes walking around outside. Safety in numbers on this street just FYI. There's nothing downstairs. We are a modest 45 seat establishment he said. Bah it's a dungeon face the facts. Added a nasty Hefe beer with a fun goat label. Charcuterie board was fantastic selection. No bars around here can do that. Hey the veggie pad Thai was good too good heat. I skipped the empanadas. Here comes the tab for 4 of us, bunch of cocktails a couple beers 4 entrees... some shots oh dear, $140 + tip, I've seen worse, and a good time.

Yelp
Right up my alley in terms of hand-crafted and unique drinks, great food, and sick metal music blasting!!! The staff is very knowledgeable and you can tell they love what they do.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
What a nice bar. Really unique place in Cleveland. I went with friends for the Harry Potter themed weekend a while ago. I'm not that big into HP but it was fun. They had special themed cocktails. One had a thumb in it. Eek! I've been back a few times since. There are some vegan and veg options on the menu which are quite delicious. They are sort of just appetizer sized though. The drink are strong and taste and there's a wide variety of whatever you want that they put a spin on. The metal music is pretty, well you know, metal. I like the decor, the wood and the, um, metal. Still trying to figure out what LBM stands for.. Anyone get it yet??
google avatar

Aisha T.

Yelp
During these unprecedented times, it's common to be skeptical about visiting a bar.. well let me tell you ai was one of these people but LBM does a great job at following safety protocol and distancing. Their cocktails are amazing and knowledge of craft is superb. I ordered a variation/spin on a New York sour and was blown away by the mixologist's addition of cranberry and Orange Ginger!! Highly recommend:

Yelp
Food: okay, let me start off by saying I am a margarita aficionado - I know a good marg when I see one. Although you wouldn't normally order a margarita from a Viking bar, when I see one on the menu I can't pass it up. LET ME TELL YOU this was probably the best margarita I've had outside of one Mexican restaurant I know. I always ask for extra salt when I get one, and most restaurants don't really comply, however they loaded on the salt here!! It was so good. Their happy hour is pretty decent, so I also got the poutine (weird combo, I know), which was hearty and tasty and hit the spot. They have a ton of fun cocktails and I can't wait to go back!! Everyone I went with loved their drink and food. Atmosphere: the best part of this place has got to be the people. I have never encountered a cooler and more friendly staff. They're open to questions and no one has a bad attitude. The place itself is also super cool and kind of intimate since it's so dimly lit (which explains my not-so-great pics).

Yelp
A Lakewood gem! You are going to Have a blast. Drinks are strong, people are nice and the food is GOOD. What else can you ask for! And they take Covid serious. I am still day dreaming about their Halloween steak but their latest theme is New Orleans bayou. The cornbread with greens was So good. You need it. All the drinks are great and your server will Hep you find a good one. Seating is limited so their reservation system is through e-mail. I highly recommend you going to have fun get drunk and have really good food!
google avatar

Yelp
Happy hour review. I was here with a group of 8 people and our server never missed a beat. I pretty much stuck to the happy hour menu with the classic hand crafted drinks: Mojito, Margarita, and Paloma. I did get to sample a few of my friends drinks off the big and fancy drink menu and they were creatively awesome. The happy hour poutine of the season is spinach artichoke and it was delicious! It's like the dip but with cheese curds and the best crunchy fries. I was pre warned about the heavy metal music, which I don't mind, but the sometimes extreme volume of the music stopped the flow of conversation.

Yelp
Cocktail bar meets Viking metal ? Well, that's LBM for you and you'll love it. I stopped in on Thursday night after work for a cocktail with a friend and my girlfriend joined us as well. Wearing a coat and tie straight from the office, I probably stuck out like the bowsprit on a viking longship, but no matter, there was no record scratch followed by skeptical sets of eyes on me as I entered like you see in the movies; just a pleasant hello and a menu. The number #1 Rule at LBM is "Don't be a dick." Seriously. If you can follow that rule, then you can "Come in and get weird." I started, I think, with the Upside Down, and followed it up with a Blood Eagle. I went back to the Upside Down, and then things started to get a little hazy after that... We also ordered a meat and cheese board, poutine, pork belly, and cauliflower to snack on while enjoying our lovely Lofn libations. The cauliflower was so good we actually ordered it twice. In all seriousness, this is a great place for a quality cocktail. I spent a good portion of my time taking to Vinny, who was more than happy to share his knowledge of brews and spirits (and Viking torture). Blood Eagle you say? Trust me, don't ask. I can't get the mental image out of my mind! Our time at LBM was one that the girlfriend and I will not soon forget. Really nice people, with the "I don't give a f*ck" attitude, that all of us can appreciate at one time or another. Jeg kommer tilbake.

Yelp
Definitely an interesting place to spend a night out! I really enjoyed the decor of this place and the staff was friendly, answering all of our questions. I opted for a bowl of the Mask of Sanity because I'm just that kind of gal, and the drink was delicious! It tasted like a fancy fruit punch. A lot of the drinks are hard to decipher with ingredients I was not very familiar with, so it was nice that the staff took time to make suggestions to us based on our preferences. The ambiance was very chill for a Friday night and I was surprised to be seated so immediately. It wasn't too busy or loud and I really enjoyed that. It's definitely a convenient location for bar hopping as well, which is what my group ended up doing afterwards! The small plates of food looked appetizing, but I did not get a chance to try anything unfortunately - maybe next time. As other reviewers have noted, I really enjoyed the fact that tax was included in the listed menu prices. All in all, I'll definitely return if I'm in the area for a drink or two. I enjoyed the drinks, the decor, the laid-back ambiance, and the service!

Yelp
I've been super excited to try out this bar! I am HUGE fan of Porcos and I had heard that one of the employees was opening a new similar bar in Lakewood. Overall, if you are into a darker, grim & setting and looking for a unique themed bar with quality cocktails this is a great Lakewood option! My initial reaction on the atmosphere was that it was in fact similar to Porcos based on the dim lighting, not the decorations. The bar is heavy metal themed which is not really my cup of tea. It really takes hipster to a whole new level. There was a TV playing in the corner with a movie playing that made me really uncomfotable, especially while hearing the bartender and a visitor discussing it loudly over us at the bar (I'm talking gross topics, you can use your imagination) However, The drink menu was extremely unique and was a perfect compliment to the one of a kind theme of the bar. The drink menu did not include your typical ingredients. I actually had to ask the bartender to translate some of teh drinks because I had no idea what I would be ordering. (Most of the liquors are international with fancy names). The Mask of Sanity actually comes in a tea cup (AND we are back to talking about tea). I ordered the Salughterhog and it was so refreshing and delicious! Both the drinks were very well made. It is a small place so the bartenders really put love into your cocktail. The coolest part was that when we got our bill, the total came out flat as the price of the 2 drinks that we ordered. In other words, tax is included in teh price on the so you see exactly what youw ill pay. That makes everything seem much more affordable and was a ncie little surprise.

Yelp
Stopped in for happy hour. Ordered a Mary Pickford and a Dark & Stormy. Both drinks were smooth and well made for $6. Then we ordered two small plates - the Pork Belly and Falafel. Tried the falafel first...the falafel and hummus were delicious! The salad that came with it complimented the falafel well. Then, we tried the pork belly which came with house made pickles and pickled onions. The pork belly just melted in your mouth. Had some char and was smoky. Small plates for sure, but very good dishes. Great service.

Yelp
Okay, Yelp readers - a preface as always. My son who is 30 and very into Viking lore had been wanting to see this place so we stopped in on a Friday night at 6pm. The crowd was pretty light at that hour and that's probably a good thing because space in the bar area is tight. On a very tight budget, we lucked into happy hour with 1/2 price on selected apps. He, a lover of sprouting brussels opted for that and it was the perfect small plate size and he said, very delicious. I got the poutine and here, I'll admit... my impressions were probably diminished by the congestion in my head/nose, so bear that in mind. The chicken on the poutine appeared to be hand-pulled, so that's a point. The gravy and overall, it was kind of bland, if peppery. At least that's what I was tasting but again, YMMV as they say. I took most of it home and smashed it into some sort of breakfast hash the next morning and topped it with an egg. There's an idea for ya, LBM. So far as the Viking element, well... it's not my thing so who am I to judge? There's bllarrrgguuuahhrrraaahhhkkkyammaarrrarrrrr music playing, though thankfully not so loud you can't talk, there are small paintings like runes and the like that you can purchase, swords on the walls and lots of hand-carved insignias in the door frames. Again, at my age, it's not my cup of tea but it might be for you. One last thing. The bartender said a previous Yelp review had called their drink menu "pretentious". Well, it is but uh, it's a themed bar, duh. Go to an Irish bar, a Scottish bar, etc., and you're bound to find pretentiously named drinks. The ingredients of the LBM drinks are yes, a bit further into the pretentious, make-ourselves-stand-out arena, but it's birdtown Lakewood, burgeoning hipster territory. If you're going to go to a place Viking or not, where there's more than one beard and plaid combo going on, you're going to find pretension to some degree. Love it or leave it I guess. Overall it's okay in my opinion. I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but I know people who would.

Yelp
You're an thirsty and famished person of House Cleveland. You know that winter is coming and your larders are empty -- make this your first stop! If you love all things Viking, amazing food and kick ass cocktails; this, weary traveler, is your stop. No Hot Pie does not work here but fear not, the food is fantastic. From the soup (the day I went lamb was the selection and it was AMAZING), to the Vegan Gnocchi right down to the fries, this place will satisfy even the pickiest of pallets. I will say I wish the Vegan Gnocchi's portion was a tad bigger but what it lacks in size it makes up for in flavor. The cocktails would melt a night king's bones. Amazingly done, balanced and most importantly strong. Eric hails his drinking talents from Porco and Melt to name a few. Simply fantastic! Pardon the cheesy GOT references, but seriously hit up this place! PS - they play metal in the background which is amazing to this reviewer!

Yelp
Came in for happy hour with a friend the other night and was impressed. This is definitely a different atmosphere from most of the bars in Lakewood but an awesome experience. The decor was modern with a heavy Viking twist. The color changing ceiling alone warrants a visit. The bartenders are very talented. I tried a few new drinks from my usual and loved them all. You can't go wrong with any of their $6 Happy hour Classics. We also ordered a few small items from the happy hour food menu, prices ranged from $3-$7. The poutine is a departure from the traditional with lots of tomato but very good. The pork rinds are the perfect crispness and I couldn't get enough of the sauce they came with. The music was a little more metal which fits the feel they are going for. My biggest complaint was the volume of the music, its was so loud it made conversation with my friend difficult despite the fact he was within 2 feet of me. Keep doing you LBM!

Yelp
I cannot express how much I love this place. High end food and drink, mid level pricing, Vikings, sea creatures, heavy metal music. I live in Chicago and this is the second time that my husband and I have driven to Cleveland for a weekend to basically eat here. The servers are lovely, willing to answer all questions, make suggestions, and even offer up advice on what else to do around town. Vaccination card required to eat inside- don't be a jerk about it, either bring your card or sit outside. $100 for food and drinks for 2 people plus tip. Worth it. Trust me.

Yelp
This bar is fun! It has a Viking theme and my husband are pretty intensely obsessed with Vikings. We just returned from 2 weeks in Norway and visited a Viking village but I digress. But it is important to note how much we enjoy Viking culture and authenticity! The lights inside are flickering to create that Viking hall mood. There are Viking symbols and shields on the wall. Attention to detail was accounted for when they created their vision of this bar ambiance! The menu harkens to Viking era in its food and beverages. They have Mead!! We did not eat as we had just left a restaurant down the street that recommended this place. Thus, I cannot comment on the food. Perhaps when we return! We did have drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere. I had a Downeast cider and my dining partners had beer. It was a quick stop before the end of journey that Saturday but it was memorable! Definitely, I recommend this place! Get your Viking on! Be a shield maiden! See you at LBM!

Yelp
We stopped in for drinks before going to a birthday dinner. I ordered I think it was called a Hellhound, it was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Murder Paradise, it had a lot of flavors, but warning it is VERY strong! My boyfriend ordered a couple whiskeys to sip as well! Their selection is insane!!! If you have an obscure alcohol you want to try but not commit to a whole bottle, or you just can't find it in Ohio, try here first because I would be shocked if they don't have it. It seems like a nice chill place. I loved the current GOT artwork and the fact that you can buy it and take it home, I really enjoy when local places support local art. I would like to try the food sometime but I can 100% say these cool craft cocktails are worth stopping in for!!

Yelp
The ambiance, delicious specialty cocktails, fast service, and yummy food makes this a humongous favorite. Our server was so nice, our food came out fast, and the drinks were beyond. We ordered dessert, the carrot cake, and it was sooooooo decadent!!! Will be back a lot. Love the vibes!

Yelp
First time being here, my buddy is Viking reinactor. He was here a while ago si we meant up tonight. The atmosphere is very inviting, one of my big take aways from this is the meade menu(though not large), is very good. I had gotten the dragons blood very good. The burger and the only beef dinner there is amazing, the garlic fries, tasty as well with cloves of roasted garlic. The alcohol menu is wide ranged as well. Beer by the bottle/can, and they have a slew of mixed drinks on menu, as well as a full bar. Little disappointed that they didnt have my coors banquet but they did have Strohs, which is hard to come by in itself. Definitely another go around here sometime.

Yelp
I can't stop going here. The drinks are very good and the food is also great. Service is pretty sweet too, so far they've been super friendly and willing to describe the drinks on the menu (Which they probably get asked constantly).

Yelp
This place is RACIST. Me and my boyfriend came in and ordered food and a drink and a shot. After a while we wanted to ask some questions about a drink the bartender was making and the he ignored us. My boyfriend had to get his attention to ask about it and he said he wouldn't serve us until we finished our drinks which were mostly ice at that point anyway. That was after we ordered food. I will never be going back and will be telling everyone to stay away from these racist asshole hipsters. The runes should have been a dead giveaway. Also if you do go here don't get the clams. Both times I had them they had sand in them so they don't wash them before cooking I guess?

Yelp
Great bar with delicious small plates. This is a viking bar so they had some pretty crazy viking rock playing. It was pretty loud on the bar side but a good volume on the dining. It's not huge inside but a good size, nice big bar and a couple of tables. Beautiful pieces of wood as tables and great decorations and a beautiful carved entry. The food was great I had a burger without the bun, I wanted to switch out my fries for a salad bit I couldn't as they dont really have sides. The fries were delicious. We also ordered the beets, pork belly, and the zoodle pad thai. The burger and pad thai were my favorite. Their cocktails are great as well, I had an old fashioned.
