The Best Bars in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Created by teachers from L’Ecole du Bar de Montréal, a local bartending school, it’s no stretch of the imagination to think that the mixology at this speakeasy bar is on point. As are the theatrics: Press on the right brick in a wall, and the door to a bar inspired by the 1920s reveals itself to customers, where high-concept drinks come paired with mysteries to solve." - JP Karwacki

12 ‘Hidden’ Montreal Bars To Know | Eater Montreal

"The details of this bar are kept under wraps to the point where the address is only divulged to members. Entertainment is an added extra here: guests have been treated to burlesque shows and each cocktail comes with a detailed story." - Carla Bragagnolo

We went on a Sunday, it was busy for a Sunday night but the waitress did an amazing job handling everyone we never had to try hard to get her attention. There was a burlesque show that was fun to watch. The murder mystery game was a good surprise. Great for groups we had good laughs and really enjoyed our time. The drinks were so tasty and the Brie was amazing as well! 100% would recommend

Randomly went here on a Sunday night and found out they do burlesque shows on Sunday nights, which was a surprising experience. The shows were a nice mood change. The drinks here are decent - I like how they have preset mocktails as well. We didn't participate in solving the murder mystery, but the table next to us did and they really seemed to enjoy it. Overall, a great vibe, especially if you go with a group.

This was so fun!! You get to solve a mystery and it's hard to find the entrance. I had an awesome cocktail and we had a great time cracking the case (the bring you shots if you do). They also have a lot of non-alcoholic cocktails and options and the meatballs were delicious!

Want to cool off in the summer like James Bond with a Vesper? This is the place. Hospitality is through the roof if you can get past the intimidating door man but the server is charming in a devilish kind of way. Guy would be your guide to sin as he's the manager as well as the host of the free burlesque show offered there every Sunday and Wednesday (10 minute of performance at 9:30, and another 10 min performance at 10:50). They offer live piano at Tuesday and live jazz band on Thursday, so don't worry if you cannot catch the burlesque. Light appetizers are served but nothing fulfilling otherwise. The cocktails are priced at 17$ with tax and tip is 18% which rounds out to about 20$ a cocktail, so sip slowly. However the entrance is not wheelchair accessible, which is an unfortunate downside. The place is chic, professional, and suspire the definition of "mystery" in every facet of their existence. Highly recommended for a late night getaway.

Came with a group of friends. All, but one, knew beforehand that we had a puzzle to solve. Each clue given by 1 of 6 remarkably delicious cocktails. Can't forget to mention the surprise show.

Hidden bar in st. Denis. Amazing experience at the bar! We had try many cocktails and they are really good. I love how the bar keeps their theme. Its really fun to do the game to solve the clue.

Behind a black door, there is a brick wall. Once you solve that, you are taken underground to a barely lit, hidden Speakeasy. The ambiance had a mystique to it, a really fun atmosphere for fancy drinks and food. Drinks: totally worth the exorbitant price. They were honestly some of the best mixed and polished cocktails we've had in Montreal. The plus is every drink you get a clue to help solve a murder mystery. That was a fun addition, for sure. But you need all 6 clues to solve it, so 3 people ordering 2 drinks each would be recommended (or hey, go for 6 alone). Food: surprise here was the food open at 11h30 until 2am when we arrived. And although a small menu, damn delicious. The burrata and foccacia were certainly worth it. The plate of potatoes, too, was worth for a midnight snake. Service: server was professional, though he did disappear at times and we waited a while for another drink. Another server brought us the clues and round of drinks, very kind and explained the game. We got shots for solving the murder mystery too, Overall a great time to take friends or on a unique date idea.

Sorry, but I found the whole experience a bit disappointing. The brick wall that disguised the front door was cool and fun at first, but once I got passed that, the whole thing felt a bit like a gimmick just to get me inside. Ideally, there should be some amusing follow up that matches the intrigue of the brick walled entrance. Once you get downstairs, there should have been a cool and authentic speakeasy experience that throws us back to the 1930’s, but instead we’re welcomed to loud pop music, odd service, and mediocre drinks. By the way, there’s a hidden brown button on the wall, directly to your left as you walk inside that opens the brick wall door.
